Great pizza!!! I got the Buratta and it added hot honey on that they had with all the other toppings. Came quick and hot and was $4.50 which felt like a fair price for all that flavor! Most places I've been to charge extra to add honey, this place did not.

Plain, burrata special, truffle mushroom, Buffalo Chicken Slice

Been here a bunch. New favorite is definitely the truffle mushroom slice. I don't even like mushrooms but it's so good. So lucky to have a pizza place right here

Always a simple solid slice. Had the burrata slice for the first time the other night. Loved it. Perfect balance of all the flavors and textures. Creamy burrata. Basil. Balsamic. Delicious. Highly recommend. Staff is nice and well, your ambiance is NYC Pizzeria. Very good!

Pizza Slices. OKAY. Both the Regular Slice and SICILIAN Slice were of adequate size but could've had a better flavor profile which needed to be elevated. I wouldn't go out of my way to eat at RETRO but if I were in the neighborhood I'd stop by. WALK DON'T RUN.

I'm from the Bronx and I know good pizza when I taste it. This pizzeri, I wish I could leave more than 5 stars for this place, the best I've ever tasted!! Crust is the perfect crunch whether normal or Sicilian, the sauce is an excellent combo of sweet and salty and the fact that it's queens makes me confident to cone here during my break! Definitely would recommend it to all my coworkers! Might need to cater from them sometime! keep up the good work you guys! Love you!

I had been to the first location often, currently on Broadway, and enjoyed the pasta much more than their pizza slices. Which I always thought were decent, nothing special. For me, they are a middle-of-the-road pizzeria -even though they had a passionate following -in Astoria. So when there was a lot of hopla over their second location on Ditmars I went out to try them. After all, I had read so many comments, primarily positive about them! The last time I visited Retro, I ordered a prosciutto slice. When I arrived, they were offering it at this location as well. It tasted the same as the one on Broadway. However, I noticed more variety than the one on Broadway. Ok, decent enough. Let's sit down and enjoy the food. In the meantime, the owner had figured out who I was, noting my reviews in the past. He was eager to hear my opinions, and I told him that his other location was slightly better! Our discussion and honest feedback convinced me he was open to real opinions. This is definately a +1 What grabs your attention most about the Ditmars pizzeria is their time and investment in the wall art. They are planning to stay on Ditmars Blvd, and it shows! Most Astorians I know love Retro, and I am not going to argue with that. When I told the owner I preferred Nonnas, Milflower, and Andrew Bellucci, he mentioned that their slices were much more expensive than his operation. Fair enough! Overall a good experience!

They had a great variety of pizzas to choose from and the pizza is delicious. The ambience is super cool and the staff is very nice. Will definitely recommend to a friend and return myself!

If you're in a pinch and would like to quickly eat some type of pasta that isn't fancy for takeout, this is the place to go to as there's no one really serving you. I walked inside, and there was no one to greet me. I think there's only one person working here who does everything. Once the person came out with someone's order, he explained everything to me, on how to figure out what to order and etc. I didn't really understand what he was saying, but I tried my best and repeated things back to him if there was a question. I followed the photos and what was written on the black menu by the wall. I ordered the small mama's bolognese. It is Reginette with marinara sauce with meat inside and has roasted garlic and parmesan. The employee asked me what size and if I wanted everything, or if I should alter anything. All in all, I'm not sure I'll be going back as the food didn't stand out to me.

Which disappointed me. We ordered spaghetti and meatballs, penne à la vodka with chicken, fettuccine Alfredo with shrimp and mozzarella sticks. The best out of all of them was the mozzarella stick sticks. The service was OK. The place is small and there's only like four benches to sit. I did notice there was a sign that said there is more seating at Elio's. I do not really recommend this restaurant for its pasta if you're looking for something super savory. But if you're looking for something fast and filling then maybe you could give it a shot.

If you didn't grow up in the area, you'd probably drive right by without realizing there's a great pizza spot inside. After seeing a TikTok video that made their pizza look incredible, I finally decided it was time to give it a try--and I'm so glad I did. Whenever I'm trying a new New York pizzeria, I always judge it by a plain cheese pizza. This time, I ordered a whole plain pie instead of individual slices because I think that's the fairest way to evaluate a pizzeria. A fresh pie tells you so much more than a slice that's been sitting in the display case. I also grabbed a mushroom slice and one of their Italian rice balls. Everything was delicious. The plain pie had exactly what I look for in a classic New York pizza, the mushroom slice was excellent, and the rice ball was flavorful and satisfying. Honestly, my biggest disappointment is that I didn't discover this place sooner. On top of the great food, the guys working there were incredibly friendly, efficient, and welcoming. It's easy to see why this place has such a loyal neighborhood following. I'll definitely be back, and next time I won't be waiting for TikTok to remind me this place exists!

Sorriso is an Italian deli offering tons of Italian products, specialty meats, homemade mozzarella, sandwiches, snacks, and more! We were in the mood for some delicious Italian subs and came here to satisfy that craving. I got the Italian Turkey Combo but swapped out the Salami & Ham for Roast Beef since I don't eat pork. The turkey and roast beef were sliced fresh onto the bread, the toppings were all super fresh and added so much depth to the sandwich. I will say the bread was a bit hard and didn't seem like it was made fresh that day. The sandwich also could've used some mayo and pickles. I added some mayo when I got home and got a side of pickles which were actually outstanding! They were briny, salty, and crisp. It added a nice texture and flavor the sandwich was lacking. As we were finishing up, the worker stopped by and offered us some complimentary Fresh Mozzarella which melted in my mouth immediately. I would absolutely come back for that and try out their other speciality items. Great try!

While deciding where to go one day, this was suggested and im so glad I went. The restaurant is cozy with tables inside the main dining room and in an enclosed outdoor seating area. Im guessing it opens in the summer. I sat down with my niece while waiting for my sister and for a good 5-7 minutes, no one stopped by and gave a menu nor offered water. Finally after about 3 people walked by not saying anything, someone came. The area is not that big and 7 minutes isnt that long but to sit there any not be addressed by all the staff walking by was annoying. Finally my sister came and we were offered water and a menu. After hearing about the specials and asking for recommendations, we settled on the gnocchi (housemade potato gnocchi, burrata, peas, pesto sauce, toasted pine nuts), Pappardelle alla Bolognese (housemade ribbon pasta, meat sauce), and side of sautéed spinach. The food arrived and we were pleasantly delightful by the main. The gnocchi was so soft and creamy, the sauce was delicious. Im not a fan of gnocchi but this was so good. The papardelle was my meal and it was also so good. There was a lot of pasta and a good amount of meat sauce. It was also delicious. The spinach on the other hand was bland. It has no flavor and we had to add some salt. A few times we tried to call someone over to our table but felt like no one was paying attention. When we were done with our meals, my sister had a few pieces of gnocchi left. She asked for a box as it was to be my nieces lunch for tomorrow. I then said, can you also box up the spinach. A few minutes later, the server dropped off a bag with one container and said here's the spinach. We tried to call his attention but he was already walking away. Where was the gnocchi. Finally when we came back, we asked about it and he said oh I thought it was garbage. I said no we asked for it to be boxed. He said let me talk to the kitchen. He came back and said sorry, they cant do anything but one dessert will be on me. I guess thats fine but we more wanted the food for the baby. For dessert we ordered a tiramisu and pistachio gelato. The tiramisu was in a jar as opposed to a cake slice. One bite of the ice cream and I knew it was bad. It was grainy and sandy texture. I looked up why that would be and one reason stated it could be improper storage, like it was unfrozen or melted then refrozen. I wasn't chancing that. I told the server and said I couldn't eat it. He offered another dessert but I said know, then offered a limoncello shot. While I appreciate the offer, we weren't drinking before so that wasn't the best option to offer. I just said im fine without a replacement. When we got the bill, the dessert was taken off like he said he would. We paid and left. Overall the main course/pasta meals were delicious. The sides and desserts could use work. Service was alright. Id definitely come back for the food and to try some of the pizza.
