A really cool restaurant that has a throwback to the 1980s maybe in 1970s games and toys now granted they are behind glass but they're still really cool to see the old Nintendo and he-man and Transformers. They also have some cool painting over the fun atmosphere as you look at the restaurant. The food is really good. We really enjoyed it over and got the I got a vermicelli. We also got some fried spring eggrolls. The broth was well developed some of that good flavor, but you wanted it to be a little bit more oof when you think about that to make it more desirable the other thing when you look at the add-ons it had for the fun could've really had more stuff to be able to be more desirable. That's what would've made it a five star so for example it's common if you're getting Steak you're getting like steak but meatballs and tripe and maybe even some brisket and so that just takes it to the next level. The vermicelli was a little bit light quantity wise was a little bit smaller than what you'd expect for the price. The staff were friendly and nice and quick at removing items and getting things like extra napkins or forks or chopsticks. Would recommend and if I'm wanting might be back. Just know that it's tough to say it's the best fun in Houston when there's so many different restaurants around town.

I tried this place since it was near my doctor's office, but I was not expecting to find such a good banh mi restaurant all the way up in Cypress! The baguette was very fresh and had a great texture. The grilled pork was delicious and all the other vegetable fillings were fresh and crisp. The butter was nice and creamy. Even my Vietnamese mom who is incredibly picky about banh mi enjoyed the one I bought for her! I chatted up the cashier guy and lady who was making my sandwich and they were very friendly and welcoming which added to my positive experience here!

I didn't see it on the menu so I asked, I did receive, and it was worth it! Their artichoke tea is delicious, refreshing, and comes in two different sizes depending on how indulgent you're feeling. While the shop itself is a bit dark, they decorated the space, and they more than make up for it with super friendly customer service. If you're worried about coming alone, know that there are plenty of single diners there during lunch time and the space stays relatively quiet even when busy. As far as the beef banh mi, it satisfied my craving. They're heavy on the butter, light on the beef, and the jalapeño will not light your mouth on fire. Overall, I'll certainly revisit when I'm in the mood for some artichoke tea.

Good for what it is, but the prices are questionable. The egg rolls were over $5, and they were a bit small. If they were bigger, I could totally justify the price. The rice dish was yummy, and the beef was thin so it was pretty tender. The employees are not the most welcoming or friendly. I came on a weekday evening, and there was only one other group dining in.

Got pork vermicelli with an egg roll and it was delicious there was one piece of meat that was to fatty but besides that it was delicious I especially liked the spicy fish sauce (does not taste like fish and is a really good sauce) on it. Oh Retro , Retro where for art thou Retro? We used to go here all the time but we moved from the Cypress area. We were back in town for a couple of days and hubby had to go by and get some Retro Rolls. He absolutely loves these things!! He says and I quote: "It's a warm,, crispy pork egg roll enveloped in a cool, soft layer of veggie and shrimp spring roll wrapped in rice paper with either a peanut or fish sauce for dipping. Tip: Add a little chili oil to make this little bite of heaven all the more better." Service is always friendly and professional. The restaurant is clean and has lots of cool graphic art and old school action figures as decorations

Ambiance: Very casual but I liked seeing the Mario wallpaper! Service: It was warm and welcoming. We felt taken care of. Food: We ordered Pho and Banh Mi. Pho was average, the broth lacked flavor but the Banh Mi was excellent. I loved how the bread was soft and the meat had great flavor. Overall it was an enjoyable experience. We would stop by for a Banh Mi if we are in the area. Great place for family and friends to hang out.

Love this place! The food is fresh and tastes great! So glad to have a banh mi place in cypress! My only recommendation/complaint from multiple patrons I've heard was the sandwiches need a little bit more meat in them. Other than that the quality is great!!! We have enjoyed the egg rolls, wonton soup, and the BBQ pork sandwiches. Great addition to the cypress area that we have been needing for so long! Also it would be amazing if they had Thai teas!! read more

This little place is great!! We had grilled pork vermicelli bowls, spring rolls and wonton soup. Each was perfect, in our opinion. Vermicelli bowl size was very generous, with just the right ratio of noodle to veggies to meat. The spring rolls were super fresh and came with a nice peanut sauce to dip them in. The wonton soup was superior to what you typically find in any Chinese restaurant- the broth was lighter, more flavorful and less oily than it's counterparts. Just visited for the first time. The location was clean and the staff was friendly. We ordered the pork vermicelli, one order of spring rolls, and one wonton soup with water to drink. Price was about $27. The wonton soup was a little peppery for my liking and there was not a lot of wontons for the price. Finally I can get Vietnamese sandwiches close to home! The staff and food are great! My husband, our daughter, and I stopped in for an early dinner. Really great Vietnamese combination sub. Great bread and a staff that you can tell loves the food and cares about the customer. Marvel theme makes the place unique and cool. Clean restrooms and layout of the restaurant in general. Prices are more than fair, I'll be back again on my commute for another sandwich. Although you order at the counter staff came up to me twice to make sure all was well which you have to appreciate anywhere. read more

We were spoiled with really good vietnamese food in San Jose. This place rivals anything back there. All the flavors are spot-on. The staff is awesome and the food is fresh and quickly arrives after an order. I literally crave the spring rolls and chicken wings on a regular basis. Their pho is also solid. Everything, really, is delicious. The menu is not very big, but you can't go wrong with anything you order. So glad they are near us in Cypress! read more

Let me just say, this place has seen my lovely face twice in a matter of 4 days. The decor is simple and inviting. They were very helpful when it was my first time. We were so excited that a new Vietnamese restaurant opened near us. We were nervous how it would taste and we were extremely happy! The food was fresh and very tasteful. The food came out fast and the staff was so friendly. Prices is not overprices so overall, it was a great experience. We have eaten there at the restaurant twice and ordered food to go twice and our order has always been accurate, hot and delicious. This Vietnamese cafe is great! The bread was just right and crispy. The butter delicious and creamy. The grill pork was perfect with not a lot of fats like many places. The vermicelli has all the right ingredients. The cashier and owner came to greet us and they are so friendly. We didn't try any smoothies or juice. He offer to give us a drink to try but we were full! This is great banh mi place to have near 290! Can't wait to come back! And it has arcade to keep kids busy. read more

The chicken with rice was also an excellent choice with the chicken being nice and tender and full of flavor from the marinade. This cafe was really good and had a fun atmosphere. We had the chicken wings as an appetizer and the beef, pork and meatball sandwich combos that included wonton soup. The sandwiches were really good once we took the fresh jalapeño slices off (they were hot!). My son really liked the wonton soup and I really liked the green dipping sauce that came with the chicken. read more

Just visited this new spot once. So can not give 5 stars yet. However, my wife and I were both impressed with the quality of the food. I had the BBQ Pork Vermicelli bowl and Spring Rolls. They were both well prepared and tasty. Wife had the BBQ pork Vietnamese sandwich which see classified as excellent. The cafe was clean. The ambiance suggests a casual place for a good healthy casual meal. Will go back for some more soon. The owners seemed to really care about their guests. read more

I came here with my friends, and everything we tried was SO GOOD! I had the grilled pork sandwich, and my friends tried the pork vermicelli, the chicken rice platter, and the korean fried chicken, and they all tasted really good. I love the seating and interior, but the best thing about The Cheesecake Factory is the variety offered in their extensive menu and the quality of the food. This one fits the bill. It was a shopping day with the wife and daughter with lunch at The Cheesecake Factory. We started off with the Egg Roll Sampler Appetizer and it was a great start. The variety of tastes was the star of the show mixing and matching, trying to find the best sauce ratio. My favorite was the chicken taquito. My wife loved the cheeseburger and I can't fault her for it because they were great. Obviously my wife has great taste. My daughter said the Avocado egg roll was the best. I tried it and hated it, AVOCADOS ARE GROSS! For our entrees my daughter got the Seared Tuna Tataki Salad, my wife ordered the soup (cream of chicken) and salad with Caesar dressing. I decided to try something new and got the Steak Diane (woo hoo retro.) My daughter's Seared Ahi Tuna Salad was fantastic. The tuna was cooked well, though it could've been a bit more fatty. The salad was fresh and crisp and the dressing was bright and tangy with undernotes of sesame oil. My wife's soup and salad was great. The soup was homey and reminiscent of a rich pot pie. The Caesar dressing on the salad was spectacular. It was creamy and tangy just like Caesar should be. Now for my Steak Diane, I'm so glad I decided to try something new. You know, take me back to the fancy restaurants of the mid century because this dish was divine. The steak was in bite sized pieces but cooked perfectly. I loved the richness of the Diane sauce and the crisp mushrooms. For desert we had the Pineapple Upside Down cheese cake. It was delicious, a wonderful sweet desert that was the perfect light and airy end to a heavy lunch. I recommend The Cheesecake Factory in Cypress if you're in the area. Or if you're looking for someplace that feels special and fancy but you want to know it's going to not disappoint. And do yourself a favor and order something new, it's worth it. Almost forgot the drinks- My daughter got a Bloody Mary. I didn't try it because BLOODY MARYs are gross. I got the Spanish Old Fashioned. I think I like this better than a regular Old Fashioned. It was rich and smoky, the cold brew added a velvety chocolate taste. The orange peel notes were perfect and it had a good mouth feel. Simply amazing

It was light on sauce, and I feel like that's something that would've made a big difference. Even just having extra sauce on the side would help. The wings, though, were the highlight. Perfect crunch, good size, and the barbecue sauce was actually really good - slightly sweet with a nice tang to it. Overall, I'd go back more for the atmosphere and the wings than the pizza. It's a good hangout spot, just a few tweaks away from being really good.

Retro Cafe is honestly everything you could ask for in a Vietnamese cafe. The food was amazing, especially the wings! They were fresh, flavorful, and easily one of the best things on the menu. The drinks and other dishes were just as good, and everything tasted authentic and made with care. On top of that, the vibe here is incredible: cozy, aesthetic, welcoming, and the perfect place to relax or hang out with friends. The atmosphere, service, and overall experience were all top-tier, and it's definitely a spot I'll keep coming back to. I had a great experience at Retro Cafe thanks to the friendly and accommodating staff. Phoenix and Tony went above and beyond to provide excellent customer service. When I received the wrong order, Phoenix was quick to offer a solution and invited me back to make things right. A few weeks later, Tony provided me with two pho soups and made sure I was taken care of. The food was delicious and the atmosphere was inviting. I just stumbled across this place when in the Cypress area looking for a place to get my Pho fix. They actually don't have Pho so I was a little disappointed at first. I went ahead and order the vermicelli and it was fantastic. I've been back to this place 3 or 4 times since. The restaraunt is always clean and the food is good. Prices are more than you would pay at fast food of course but reasonable. read more

I came in today to grab some Pho, egg rolls and chicken fried rice and it was DELICIOUS! We live out in the Hempstead/Waller area and used to work in Atascocita. There was one of my favorite Pho places out there, but it's not realistic to drive to. Found this little gem by its reviews and tried it out and I will be coming now all the time. read more

I work at the hospital & a nurse bought a bunch of the Vietnamese sandwiches for the staff to eat. I am not a fan of sandwiches at all but these sandwiches are AMAZING! Very fulfilling, I had to go eat another one. Definitely recommend! read more
