Stopped by to grab a quick bite and ended up ordering the tuna melt on gluten free bread with an side soup add-on for $2. Delicious and very filling even when splitting between two people.

This is one of the few healthy options in the area. We used to come here during our walks around Green Lake. It can get quite busy, especially during the summer months, but in winter it's usually easy to find a spot. They offer a good variety of salads, sandwiches, and drinks.

The line here is always long and the people always seem to be cheerful when they are here so I decided to stop by to see what all the hype was about. I was a little shock at how pricey it was. I know vegan food isn't the cheapest but woof. Either way, I committed to a bowl. It was either between the retreat bowl which is vegetarian and gluten free. It had in it sunny side up egg, mushrooms, sweet potatoes, arugula, pistachio pesto and your choice of organic brown rice or quinoa or the fall harvest bowl (v) which comes with arugula, roasted carrots, butternut squash, broccolini, hummus, avocado, hemp seeds, microgreens, and quinoa. I thought it was tasty the retreat bowl but again the prices of the other items were a bit higher especially for what I would consider a 3 star restaurant. They have coffee, a great selection of teas, and other things on their food menu include tacos, pesto chicken sandwiches and other melts and sandwiches, toasts, bowls, soups, breakfasts like omelettes and more. I think the smoothies look great. I would come back here for this especially after a run around the lake. The space itself is beautiful and lively and I do think that in of itself is a 5 stars. I can't think of anything different they need to do with the space. Even though it's packed like always, they can fit maybe 75 inside and an additional 25 outside on the patio. It comes with wifi.

Food is a little expensive but delicious! I particularly enjoyed their strawberry banana shake. The atmosphere is friendly but it was so busy I couldn't hear myself think. It's difficult to have conversations inside because of the noise. Maybe they could install sound dampening? This is my second time here and I enjoyed myself but wish it wasn't so loud so I could talk with my friends and hear what they are saying.

tl;dr - good cafe drinks, great service, great seating options I only had cafe drinks, but I did see they had food and a bar. The latte was good, tasted sweeter than normal even though it was unsweetened. My wife had the Ruby Ginger Latte which she said was really good with almond milk. It has beetroot, ginger, and cardamom. The baristas were really nice and accommodated a last minute change to one of the drinks. There's lots of seating inside and outside. They have a large indoor space with bar seating, several patio tables, and a row of lounge chairs in the front. It's located right across the street from Green Lake so it's an awesome place to grab a drink and go for a walk.

I am getting to know this area, and so far have enjoyed my visits to Retreat Cafe! They have tasty smoothies and a good breakfast selection, although a little pricier than I would like. I do like how open the space is, with plenty of tables--whether you are there to work/study alone, or for a large gathering with friends it is a good casual space to accommodate a range of customers.

I visited for the first time on Sunday and am happy to report this place met all of my expectations. The service was good and fast. I came here with a large group and was a bit worried about seating, but there was a ton of space. The food and drinks were yummy and I can't wait to come back and try more. I had hot chocolate and avocado toast, both were delicious. The ambiance was nice. Modern, clean interiors with lots of natural light. There is a good amount of seating and strategic outlet placement for those coming to work or study. Parking is a little tricky because it's green lake, but be patient and you'll find something.

Nice little café by Green Lake, ambiance is good, with lots of seating, and also wifi. Ordered a BLT sandwich as recommended by the staff and it was just okay, seemed a bit expensive for the sandwich that I got.

This is a really nice place to stay for a while or meet up with friends! It was very lively inside/ The interior design is nice and I love how there are comfy couches and lots of tables to sit at. The whole place is decorated with lots of plants and has a nice view of Green Lake. Latte and cinnamon roll were both good. It was a bit noisy and I was slightly irritated by the competing music from the open kitchen and seating area. I'd come back to work but only if I have headphones and don't have to take any meetings.

I was excited to try out this place as I saw their unique line of wellness lattes. I'm from out of town so I was eager to try something new. The cafe was busy and full of people, though I didn't see a single mug for dine-in orders. It was a bit loud inside but they had seating outside to avoid the noise. Everyone was drinking from either plastic or a disposable cup, and for someone who is trying to limit plastic use, kind of a bummer. I ordered the Golden Orange with almond milk and a regular Matcha Latte. The girl who took my order was nice but I didn't get a receipt. Now, this is why I give my rating and why I probably won't be back--customer service. When you place your drink order, they make it and then call your name. Just like Starbucks. At this visit, the staff who made both drink orders left both cups on the counter and went on to make the drink for the person after me. Not once did she did call my name, and I remember hearing her call the person's name before me. I stared at both drinks on the counter and didn't want to assume they were for me as I wasn't familiar with the drinks, so I kept waiting . It wasn't until after she called the name of the person after me that I went up to the counter, pointed at the drinks asking if it was for me, and she goes, "yah, I called the name twice." It was in the moment I felt crazy, but I knew I was not because I was standing right near the counter the whole time waiting and listening for my name. I told her I didn't hear my name, and she apologized so I did my best to get over it. The drinks were good, at least. My Golden Orange had a strong cardamom taste but it wasn't too strong, and I did taste notes of orange. My husband's Matcha Latte was good; no granules of unmixed matcha powder and was neutral-tasting (not too bitter or sweet). Plus is that they had free water cups, and parking near the place is free under 2 hours.

Atmosphere here is 10/10!! There's so much space and the vibe is so fun and relaxing. Come work or catch up with a friend, it's the perfect spot. The service is fast and the staff is always nice! The coffee was delicious! The beetroot lattes were not our favorites but we'll definitely be back to try the other wellness lattes

I've ordered this sandwich probably 6 times over the last year and never fails to hit the spot. Place is always busy and filled with people. Can get pretty loud, but still a good spot to study.

Went there last week on 4/11. Yes they are open.

What all is made in-house or locally, if anything? I'm a huge fan of housemade nut milks and Oatly.

Looks like most every thing is in house.

Are there specific free WiFi hours?

Yes, they just updated their policy for no WiFi after 6pm on weekdays, I think it applies to weekends too.

Took almost an hour to get seated, but we were able to grab some drinks from the coffee shop on the first floor of the hotel, which was a nice option. Once we got upstairs it was gorgeous! Lots of great seating options both inside and out. The views of downtown Seattle and Bellevue were EPIC. The staff were very friendly as well! I have to say, for the price the food and drinks weren't at the level I expected. We ordered nachos, crab Rangoon dip, and pretzel bites. The nachos were probably our favorite, but they weren't anything special for $22. The Rangoon dip was mostly cream cheese and barely had any flavor. I think they were depending on the nori chips to bridge the gap, but those didn't taste the greatest. Finally the pretzel bites were okay, but nothing I couldn't get at another gastropub for a much lower price. The drinks were fine, but not that strong. I ordered the Glacier Peak which was beautiful and refreshing. We'll be back for the views and maybe a couple of cocktails, but I'd say if you're bar hopping, spend money on food somewhere else in the area.

My go to order has always been the Mr Breakfast plate, it's super hearty and full of great breakfast foods. However, the price has increased exponentially and quality has definitely gone down. I used to pay around $15 for this plate and it included bacon and now it's $17 + an extra $4 to add 2 pieces of bacon. (The bacon is totally worth it though). The potatoes recipe need to be completely refined, or they need to offer a substitution option for them. They are overly soft and they don't have nearly enough seasoning. That was the only thing that remained on my plate when I was done! and the soft boiled egg tasted a little off to me, like it had been sitting for a bit long. Other than that, the Turkish eggs and chopped chicken salad were very fresh and good. Staff were super nice when ordering at the counter, coffees and pastries were good as well. Originally opened in 1934, the Blue Moon carries the kind of atmosphere you cannot recreate -- walls covered in decades of music, art, stickers, photographs, and stories. A dimly lit room packed with musicians, writers, artists, and people who genuinely appreciate creativity in its raw form. Throughout the night, the stage moved between live music, poetry, and performances from local artists while the crowd filled the tavern from the bar to the stage floor. Places like this remind me why independent art still matters. As an author traveling all over the United States -- and as someone who lived in the Seattle area for 2 1/2 years -- standing on that stage reading poetry from Purple Rose in a venue with this much history behind it was really something special. What I loved most was how welcoming the environment was. This is a very LGBTQ-friendly, art-friendly space where people genuinely support one another. If you are brand new to open mics or nervous about sharing your work for the first time, this is the kind of place where you will absolutely be shown kindness and encouragement. There were so many talented musicians, poets, and performers there, and you could really feel the appreciation for creativity throughout the room. The setup of the tavern itself is awesome. The stage and seating area wrap around the bar in almost a U-shape, so you can really choose your own vibe for the night. If you want to stay close to the performances and music, there is a dance floor and table area near the stage. If you want something more relaxed, you can hang back near the bar, have a drink, and still enjoy the atmosphere without being directly in the middle of everything. They also have a full bar, arcade games, board games, books to read, and even a small library on the shelves throughout the tavern. Somewhere inside, you may even find a signed copy of Purple Rose that I left hidden and dedicated to the historic Blue Moon itself. Beautiful evening with wonderful people. I, my wife, and her friend stopped by for New Year's Drinks around 6, and about 6:30 or so, made the mistake of asking Tim Duvall, the clearly drunken before 7:00 PM owner of the establishment, whether outside food can be brought into the bar. This led to his regaling us with an extended and utterly unsolicited history of the bar. He then invited himself to sit with us, halfway into the seat before slurring a "Can I sit down?" to insert himself into our booth. We then moved to another unsolicited conversation, this time about politics. Now, to be clear - I have no doubt that I and a sober Tim Duvall probably agree on most of our politics. This did not stop him from berating me as I agreed with his point, loudly escalating and yelling as I tried to agree with him (again... to be clear, I DIDN'T disagree his political view) until he stood and began yelling that I was kicked out. As I stood to talk on him, he became VERY comfortable with putting his hands on me, grabbing my sweatshirt to move me. I was NOT about to challenge that as a Black man new to Seattle that doesn't know how the police would handle things. I need to be very specific about how quickly this man felt comfortable touching me, grabbing my sweater to "drag" me. This is the step that is WAY over the line. I would genuinely like to recommend this place, as I'm looking for bars that offer sugar cane soda. Drunken ownership- in the early evening in New Year's - that feels comfortable being handsy with Black folk is far too much. AVOID at all costs.

For some of us, those dry, funky Belgians are where your palate finds home after trying every beer style. Only some of us, though. They can be hard to sell after a while, especially these days. So now the lineup here runs to lots of gorgeous, refreshing lagers, some explosively-flavorful hoppy stuff, and the occasional big chewy high-abv ale. For a saison whore like me, this is kinda like learning Michelangelo doesn't paint anymore, he just gets down with sculpture now. Not a tragedy by any means, but we still feel the absence. But why are saisons not the huge seller that IPAs are? Well, in part, 'cause old heads like me cut out beer. I did, anyway. I came out of retirement yesterday afternoon to try Nick's beers 'cause they had a Washington Cheese release event at the brewery yesterday. (Can't wait to try those, by the way). I checked out a landbier, german pils, west coast pils, and a hazy IPA. All wonderful, refreshing, and without flaw. We had a couple other beers at the table, along with a seltzer and wine. There's nothing here I wouldn't have again. The space is a good size--seating here, bar back there, brewhouse off to one side, more seating up the ramp in back. They had the Olympics on the flat screens and projector. There are board games and cards near the bar, and shuffleboard upstairs. This was another brewery before, and that brewery put in the shuffleboard table and at least some of the brew equipment. You can still see the name of the old brewery here and there. L&L is an even better source of beer IMO. Somewhat infamously, this space was also a funky dive bar and a, uh, gentleman's club in decades gone by. No trace of either of them remain. The folks who run this place are friendly and fun, and there aren't too many places making beer this good. They even have a great knack for designing cool labels (all done in house!). Highly recommended.

Service was exceptional. Nice touch with a little bubbly to welcome you in. Eclectic menu to choose…read morefrom and some nice options both in food and drinks. Nice that they have regular test, low test and no test drinks depending on how much alcohol you want. Food was very tasty, we had the lobster pasta and the fajitas. The tortillas were very flimsy so messy but still nice flavor and good amount of food.. started with the hummus which is what I was told to try there and yes a creative hummus plate... which brings me to the only hiccup... The chef gets creative at times and apparently edamame is in season so randomly added to the hummus even though not on the menu. Found out half way through then had to verify what beans they were and couldn't eat rest of dish. Server was awesome about it and wasn't a problem but if you have any allergies be aware the menu MAY not be exact so make sure you ask if there are any "enhancements" if you have any known issues. Overall highly recommend.

Very popular spot; but it was my first and last time for dinner here…read more Food was fine, ratings from 3 to 4 stars at my table for hummus, crispy nigiri, chicken parmesan, and a burger. But a couple other things just spoiled it.... Service was slow, the server mostly absent, and the starters and the main dishes were served all at once. I wonder what the server was thinking a "starter" was supposed to be.... This was during an evening in February and the place was way overheated , I estimated something close to 80F where we were sitting. Cocktails were fine and I will come back to just sit at bar for that, but the dinner experience was just not for me at Joey's.
