The spa is in a business building; not what you would expect, but upon entering his suite; it was cozy and typical of a spa. We opted to both be in the sauna and cold plunge and then individually go in for massages once our sauna session was up. Sauna and adjoining room were clean upon arrival. Cold plunge tub was filled as we spoke (not ice cold, but cold enough for beginners). He reviewed protocol with us and left the room for us. Massages were individual and allowed us to utilize the sauna while the other was getting a massage. He was professional and it was a great massage. Pricing was extremely reasonable and we will be back. We normally go to Fire and Ice in Dedham, but they lack an in room cold plunge, which we really enjoy in combination with the sauna experience. I recommend Ron and his spa; he is passionate about a great experience. We look forward to returning.

My original plan to give 5 stars (because of the wonderful owner Mike) unfortunately turned into 1…read morestar because of the other employee, Brenda. Please use caution with her. I tried a variety of options and purchased packages for sauna and WBC. I was excited for these self-care packages to help me feel better overall. I had some significant joint and muscle discomfort and I was recommended WBC as a complementary therapy. My sessions with Mike were most excellent. They have six levels. After trying level 1 without feeling much effect, I got permission from my doctor to go to level 5 and 6 to improve the results. I would not have chosen this on my own without the ok from professionals. From the start, Brenda called me "crazy" for wanting to go to higher levels and showed intense pushback, both verbally and thru facial expressions, even though it is safe and I had full clearance. I repeatedly told her in person this is okay for me, but she kept pushing back and made my self-care experience extremely awkward and uncomfortable. Just because she is not brave enough to go to higher levels herself, it is inappropriate and annoying for her to dissuade others from doing so. On a side note, even though I did not have any contraindications, I noticed not all contraindications are listed on their website. For my final session, she refused again, even though I told her so many times in person I have the clearance to do so. Did that not register? I even e-mailed her a copy of the clearance. This became increasingly frustrating and I asked for a partial refund on the session that I chose to not ultimately use. In addition, I had a reiki session with her. While this was mostly uneventful, I picked up a smoky smell from her. I cannot say for sure whether she's a smoker, as I have no idea, but I definitely smelled the smokiness, but didn't feel comfortable asking her directly at the time. I just waited for the session to be over and took a shower when I got home. I did enjoy my sauna sessions at this place, especially the music hook-up in the infrared sauna, although there is no hook-up in the dry sauna. Again, it was a wonderful pleasure to see Mike the many times I did. He is a lovely man, even though Brenda said he made an "error in judgment" in letting me try a higher-level WBC. That is bogus. Mike was incredibly professional and consulted with me with care before every session. I'm glad I tried the higher level with him. Keep up the great work, Mike. I wish you continued success, but I had to be honest in sharing my experience with Brenda when you were away on vacation. You are a kind gentleman.

The vitamin C shower is refreshing and very relaxing after sitting in the sauna. Love a cold plunge. And this is no exception. I mentioned that I might want to cancel because it is a bit far for me to travel on a regular basis, but I wanted to see if it was worth it to prioritize into my schedule. they didn't make it clear how to cancel. I've been two more times and there's always some oils in the cold plunge tubs which makes me hesitant, but the private infrared sauna suites are amazing and 100% worth it.

The next day I went to finally try the sauna, which I was very excited about since pretty much all saunas at gym locations were off limits due to covid, which not only do they clean the rooms, but they also place fresh new towels even if you don't use them, they also sanitize everything, so you don't have to worry about covid at this place. When I got there I was greeted by the man behind the desk (didn't get his name) and not only was he nice, but also very professional. Once it was time to go to the room he explained to me how it works and they gave me extra time since it was my first to get relaxed and understand the heating controls. Once the session was over I was asked how I felt and I was made sure I enjoyed my time. I wasn't pressured to get a membership or anything... I honestly didn't know what to expect coming here and when I first saw the pricing online I thought it was a little pricey, but the pure professionalism of this place is just too good, not to mention the health benefits of the sauna itself. I absolutely recommend this place!

I think since my head was out of the chamber, the heat was tolerable and I woke up drenched in sweat!! I had that buzzy endorphin feel after working out! David and his mother who run it are really nice, helpful and passionate about what they do. David was able to explain the whole process and how the far infrared sauna works. They both were really kind and happily took the my time answering questions. It was not packed, but they were steadily busy when I went. I fall asleep really easily so I did not have any issue with background noise, but for folks who are light sleepers you might want to bring ear plugs, but they also provide them for you if you forgot to bring them. I didn't need them. In the front they also sell crystals, drinks to hydrate, gifts and other fun stuff. Thank you!

Definitely a Somerville-Cambridge crowd. Everyone was super friendly. I have to say, the saunas were hot-hot. The regulars told me they've never experienced such heat before, so what I experienced wasn't the norm. I did feel very rejuvenated though. Winters usually dry out my skin, but this session made me feel great again. I'd even take breaks in the outdoor lounge, sitting by the fire pit, in a bathing suit, in the dead of winter, surrounded by snow. It was quite the scene. Like a mobile, makeshift version of what I had done in northern Sweden. You can book an hour or 2, and they have packages for multiple visits per month. I will say, I do prefer SweatHouz only because I like to lay out and stretch while having a session, and that kind of behavior is pretty obnoxious when there are up to 5 others with you lol. I'm not sure if they're here every season or if the location will find its permanent residence here, but if you're someone who enjoys a sweat session, I'd say give it a go!
