My original plan to give 5 stars (because of the wonderful owner Mike) unfortunately turned into 1 star because of the other employee, Brenda. Please use caution with her. I tried a variety of options and purchased packages for sauna and WBC. I was excited for these self-care packages to help me feel better overall. I had some significant joint and muscle discomfort and I was recommended WBC as a complementary therapy. My sessions with Mike were most excellent. They have six levels. After trying level 1 without feeling much effect, I got permission from my doctor to go to level 5 and 6 to improve the results. I would not have chosen this on my own without the ok from professionals. From the start, Brenda called me "crazy" for wanting to go to higher levels and showed intense pushback, both verbally and thru facial expressions, even though it is safe and I had full clearance. I repeatedly told her in person this is okay for me, but she kept pushing back and made my self-care experience extremely awkward and uncomfortable. Just because she is not brave enough to go to higher levels herself, it is inappropriate and annoying for her to dissuade others from doing so. On a side note, even though I did not have any contraindications, I noticed not all contraindications are listed on their website. For my final session, she refused again, even though I told her so many times in person I have the clearance to do so. Did that not register? I even e-mailed her a copy of the clearance. This became increasingly frustrating and I asked for a partial refund on the session that I chose to not ultimately use. In addition, I had a reiki session with her. While this was mostly uneventful, I picked up a smoky smell from her. I cannot say for sure whether she's a smoker, as I have no idea, but I definitely smelled the smokiness, but didn't feel comfortable asking her directly at the time. I just waited for the session to be over and took a shower when I got home. I did enjoy my sauna sessions at this place, especially the music hook-up in the infrared sauna, although there is no hook-up in the dry sauna. Again, it was a wonderful pleasure to see Mike the many times I did. He is a lovely man, even though Brenda said he made an "error in judgment" in letting me try a higher-level WBC. That is bogus. Mike was incredibly professional and consulted with me with care before every session. I'm glad I tried the higher level with him. Keep up the great work, Mike. I wish you continued success, but I had to be honest in sharing my experience with Brenda when you were away on vacation. You are a kind gentleman. read more

I'm actually very disappointed that they did this because I've had to reschedule and/or cancel. I'm a on call nurse and reservist. My schedule changes frequently. I have been going here for years. The amount of money I have spent there and referrals I've sent and you decide to do this. I'm completely flabbergasted. It literally says cancel by 9am and I canceled at 7am. read more

I'm a huge fan of Russian Banya and in Russia went there once a week. When I moved to Boston, I was very disappointed that there us just one Russian Bath in Chelsea. I live in Norwood, and it takes me almost 50 min to get there. Then, I found "Fire and Ice." It is a lifesaver for me. Yes, it is not a Banya, and the steam is absolutely different. Yes, the price is higher, and it is a little expensive to go there once a week for a minimum of 4 hours. Yes, it is not a public one, and there is a different atmosphere. BUT, it is better than nothing! The quality is great, and the staff is super welcome, polite, and friendly. They follow all COVID regulations. Always clean and disinfect everything. I already recommended this place to a lot of my friends. Once again, it is not a banya. It is a sauna with a PRIVATE room, with a rest area with a table, microwave, kettle, TV, lounge chairs, etc. The price is awesome for what you get. PLUS, if you plan to go there a lot, you can get a Pack of hours with discounts. read more

I went to the fire and ice spa with my girlfriends without any high expectations because it's really hard to find a good Russian style spa anywhere in the US. But I was pleasantly surprised to find this spa the best one in the US!!!!! It's so clean and neat, everything is well organized, people who work there are super friendly! Big thanks to Oksana, Mikhail and Anya, thank you guys for making our girls day out amazing! The facility is brand new and it's really the best spa I ever went to. I am highly recommending the fire and ice spa!!!! Fire and Ice is fabulous! Extremely clean, professional and flexible with scheduling. Tried Cryo (face & full body) and immediately recognized the benefits. After a full-body treatment, my lower back felt much better. The facial was very cooling and felt wonderful after a 1/2 an hour in the sauna. I can't say enough good things about the sauna...It's my favorite thing to do after exercise. If you haven't been to Fire & Ice you must give it a try! First timer at a sauna and had an amazing experience. The Attendant was very helpful and calming. Such a great setup with your own sauna and adjoining "sauna lobby". For sauna lovers, this is a great substitute for the old Allston Banya that closed a few years ago. In fact, it's truly orders of magnitude better. Everything is very clean and refined. The sauna room itself is larger than the old Banya (though doesn't get quite as hot) and cleaner and higher quality. There's a large, pleasant, room to hang out in between sauna laps (private, so no need to wear bathing suit), a set-up to douse yourself with cold water, and they provide hot tea, towels, robe, and slippers. It's truly fantastic as an affordable "get away" (without the sketch factor that had to be coped with in Allston). read more

Very dissapointed. Don't go here! Made an appointment a week in advanced from 4 to 7 on a Saturday. Came on time and was told that my appointment is from 5 to 8 which is not true since I made an appointment a week in advance and called that same day to confirm the appointment. Anyway I agreed to 5 to 8 however when I came back an hour later at 5 I was told my appointment is at 5:30 so I left. If you don't want your time wasted don't go here terrible service. To start with, I had called Fire and Ice about a month ago to ask questions about their sauna room, and nobody called me back. I then tried to go in person to discuss my questions with them, and the hours on their website were not updated so I drove all the way there for it to be closed. Surprisingly enough I still decided to try and make an appointment. I noticed I could do it through their online scheduling program. I was busy all day with work so their latest appointment was listed for 7pm which was perfect for me. I ended up calling them the day of the appointment to ask some personal medical questions regarding the sauna and cryotherapy treatments, and the woman (who I couldn't understand whatsoever) completely cut me off to tell me that "your appointment is at 7, we close at 7." So I proceeded to tell her, "your website clearly isn't updated in more ways than one because it let me make that time." She just laughed and basically was insistent I come earlier. If I hadn't called to ask a completely different question, I would have shown up to a closed office. I ended up hanging up. Never go to this disorganized hot mess of a location. read more

A wonderful new Spa with a great, true Banya/Sauna. Celebrated my birthday with friends there yesterday and we all can't wait to go back! The sitting area (designed with light wood) is very comfortable and there is tea and a fridge with cold water/drinks and a table for food/snacks. The Fire and Ice Spa in Dedham is phenomenal. The place is extremely clean, modern, and I loved the Sauna. I have gone to Sauna's at the gyms I've had memberships in but this place outdoes them all. An appointment is required, it is only 20 dollars an hour, and the Sauna section is all yours. The 20 dollars for the hour covers; a private room with a huge flat screen TV (I believe it was about 70 inches) with cable, Poland Spring bottles of water, towels, and robes. I also noticed that the TV had a Chromecast (we didn't use it but still pretty cool). Bathrooms and showers come with soap, conditioners and shampoo. You are able to control the room temperature inside of the Sauna using the watered heat steam which I believe is way better than the electric heaters from my personal experience. We were also given a tour by a woman named Anna who was amazing. She was extremely considerate, nice, and took the time to explain all the services/deals the spa had to offer thoroughly. I went with my roommate and we might go twice or three times a month now compared to our original plan which was to go once a month. I give this place 10 out of 10. read more

It's hard to find a good hot sauna in the area, but this place is great. Clean, new, tastefully furnished without being to fancy; friendly staff; nice big sauna that got nice and hot! Clean, new showers and changing rooms too. Very reasonably priced at $20 for an hour in the sauna. I also tried the cryotherapy. I was nervous, but the woman operating it was friendly and explained everything and cheered me on! I actually did the full 3 minutes on my first try! And it really did feel great. Very invigorating. My only complaint is that if you want to get a cold rinse in between rounds in the sauna, you have to leave the sauna area and go across the hall to use the shower. I mean, it was only a couple steps, but I felt like I wasn't sure if that was the protocol, and if there were a lot of other people there, it might have been awkward.
