I decided against becoming a lifelong client... The hair that began growing in my ears after age 40…read morebugged me. I finally decided to do something about it and did a little online research. My research indicated that electrolysis was the way to go as it is permanent. The online research indicated that the cost might be around $200. I know that online research could be dated or way off but at least it was a rough indicator. I made an appointment with Melanie Odell at Kingston Electrology for a consult. She told me that $200 was unlikely as it would likely take more than 1 or 2 visits at $100 per hour. After $300 or $400 I had to take a break for a few other things I had going on. Meanwhile it seemed like all the "permanently removed" hair seemed to have grown back. I called for a 10 minute or so consult to get a better idea of what it would take. I ended up having a lengthy telephone conversation with Melanie's grandmother, Brenda who started this business and now books appointments for Melanie. She told me that this could take many more appointments over many, many months before all of the follicles stopped producing hair. It's hard to know because of the location and male Testosterone levels, etc. THIS WAS ALL NEW INFORMATION that Melanie neglected to tell me. When I met with her for our 10 minute consult, she admitted that what Grandma Brenda had said was true but tried to back-pedal to say that she never mentioned a limit. PLEASE! Technically this was true but i believed it might be 3 or 4 visits, not dozens. I suggested that perhaps we could continue but with a cap. Something like $100 or $200 more and she would continue until finished. She declined and countered with saying that perhaps I could find someone for periodic waxing which would be cheaper. So... unless you want to become a lifelong customer at $100 per hour, make sure you get all of the facts. I didn't do that and I regret ever starting down this road with Melanie Odell.
