I expected to be writing a review based on services but nope. Instead, the lack of service I received was very disappointing. I made an initial appointment by phone for about a week out. The representative understood what I was interested in (facial) and booked me. When I arrived the next week (15 minutes early) the receptionist told me "You don't have an appointment." I was completely taken aback, as I had made the appointment with a live person, had a little conversation at the time, and even confirmed the building they're located in. The receptionist did ask if I wanted to book an appointment at a later date, but I didn't, as I didn't have a warm, fuzzy feeling about *this* mistake. As the receptionist was very clear by her manner that this was *my* mistake, not their's, I declined a future appointment. Since there was nothing I could do, I left. I did return a minute later to doublecheck if the time was scheduled on a future day, just to be sure I didn't hold up someone's schedule, but nope, no appointment for me. Which was especially weird when the receptionist said, "I see you in our system, but no appointments are scheduled." Really? And how would I randomly get into your system, if I didn't schedule an appointment? Somewhat disappointing, but I figure everything happens for a reason! Caveat emptor. read more

I went in for a scheduled appointment only to find out that the facial I was scheduled for wouldn't work unless I had a series of treatments. No one bothered to tell me when booking via phone. This was upsetting as I had taken the afternoon off to have this appointment and had driven a fairly long distance. To make matters worse they didn't try to rectify the situation. This review is about a few IPL sessions I had with Gail. These cost a total of hundreds of dollars. This was for discoloration in a few different areas. I see absolutely NO difference in any area treated. I did reach out a couple times, to see if there was a possibility of some sort of credit, maybe to use on a different service. This review is for my experience at Bella Derma LLC, where I received a Vitamin C facial. I am new to the area and needed to find a good place for facials because I was breaking out and needed a good thorough cleansing facial. The positives: the woman who gave me the facial was nice and seemed knowledgeable. She is a registered nurse so I trusted her with my skin. She took her time examining my skin and made a few suggestions (such as drinking more water and changing my pillow case every two days). She also gave me free samples and didn't suggest that I buy any products. The negatives: one negative is that my skin seemed no better after this treatment. The atmosphere was very "doctors office" and not at all "relaxing spa." (No dim lighting, soothing music, or soft blankets. When spending a chunk of money, I want to feel relaxed and pampered.) The facial only included a face massage with the various products. (No steam treatment, no shoulder and hand massage, and no extractions or any other special treatments whatsoever). The nurse didn't use a towel or head wrap around my hair, so when I left, the hair around my face was saturated and greasy with all of the cleansers and lotions she had used. I was appalled at the end of my visit when I was told that the cost of the facial was $75! On sale! (Normally $85). In my opinion, $30 would be a more appropriate price. I've had various facial treatments costing from $40-$95, and those facials were heavenly compared to this lack luster experience. In summary, go elsewhere for facials. They offer various skin and whole body treatments, so for something other than a facial, it might be fine. read more

Found this salon awhile ago during a spa week. My favorite treatment is the non-surgical facelift, combined with a facial. I also do laser hair removal, and they have the best pricing I've found. More importantly, Gail and Judy are REAL nurses, so I feel very confident in their hands. If any reaction occurs, they are well-versed to handle it. My skin is sensitive so there's always that chance, but honestly, nothing has ever happened. Their salon is spotless, business-like and efficient. All of the staff are very nice. My only regret? They're not open on Mondays for regular services (they reserve that day to perform a particular type of service). Their standards are very high! read more

I am disappointed in the service I got when I went to Bella Derma. This was my first time going and I decided it would be a good idea to try them out. I went because I love Skinceuticals, one of the lines Bella Derma uses. I had my facial with Kelly. At the beginning I asked if she used Micropolish, a professional use only exfoliant from Skinceuticals. She said yes I will use it and never did. I looked at the product cart after my facial and didn't even see it there. I have lots of clogging in my t-zone which Is easily extracted with pressure. I would extract it myself as I am a Licensed Esthetician but I have acrylic nails on. Kelly told me she can't extract because I'm too dehydrated. As an Esthetician, I know that at least SOMETHING can be extracted on every client, and you should always extract during a facial. The table I laid on almost broke when I sat on it (I'm not overweight) and it was extremely uncomfortable. There wasn't any massage with my facial, only stroking of my décolleté after I showed my concern that there was no massage. I felt as if I was laying there getting a few products slabbed onto my face. I was given a mirror after and told "see you're beautiful now!". Was I ugly before? Ha ha. I wasn't offered water the whole time I was there also. I won't be returning as I wasted $85. read more

I went to Bella Derma for a consultation for upper lip laser hair removal. I was told that it only worked on dark hair and not on grey hair. Knowing this I decided to go ahead. It was a series of 6 visits a month apart. Some visits it was 4 laser zaps, other 6 to 8. Well, the treatment did not work on grey hair nor did it work on dark hair. I contacted them and the owner explained that sometimes this happens. This was never said to me upon the initial consultation. She offered to do a couple of other visits at no additional cost. I sent an email back saying I was not interested because I didn't think it would make a difference. I did request a partial reimbursement as an alternative. I never heard back and upon contacting them again they claim they never received my response. I resent it and have never heard back and at this point don't expect to. In conclusion, I don't think the procedure was explained in full and I don't think the office cares whether or not a customer is satisfied. read more

I originally decided to go to Bella Derma because there was an advertised special on a body contouring type treatment that I had been interested in for a long time. I had a scheduled appointment for a consultation to learn even more about the treatment. The appointment was beyond what I expected! The staff at Bella Derma provide a wealth of knowledge about any treatment that they offer. There is extensive research done on all treatments before Bella Derma would even offer them. These treatments are the best for your body, skin, etc. and totally work. I have been a client for quite a few years now and have had body contouring and the non surgical face lift. Both treatments have worked beyond what I ever imagined. I consider Bella Derma and I, a team, striving to make me look the best I can as I age. The non surgical face lift is amazing. Bella Derma says "give us 6 weeks and we'll give you 10 years!" So so true! Everyone noticed immediately that my face was different. Of course, the key here is to cleanse the face daily, use the products that are recommended for one's skin, and to have regular maintenance appointments every 4-6 weeks. The staff at Bella Derma are very flexible and work with you if you can't buy all of the recommended products. For example, if you can only afford one product out of 3 recommended, they will advise you of which one would be best at that time. They do offer specials and that's a great time to buy gift certificates and products that you can use for yourself!! The office is absolutely gorgeous and decorated so beautifully. As soon as you walk in, you are always greeted with a warm smile and feel so welcome! You are treated like a queen when you're there and the treatment beds are very comfortable, heated with stunning throws over the bed to give you the most comfort. When you leave, you can even take a delicious piece of Ghiradelli (or another kind) of chocolate; a nice treat after a wonderful treatment. You should definitely make an appointment at Bella Derma.
