Since first meeting with Dr. Flashner years ago, I've been confident in the guidance and treatments provided by Dr. Flashner and his staff. It's worth traveling over an hour to see them. In particular, I'm grateful to Lindsay who suggested I try Neogen Plasma, a newer treatment she felt was more appropriate for my skin type, versus trying the Morpheus8 treatment I booked before Neogen was available. Yesterday, Crystal administered the treatment and was terrific! She answered my questions and explained what was going to happen throughout my session and afterwards, so I was prepared and understood the process. I was reluctant to post a review because i know how important they are to small businesses but hoping this is taken as constructive criticism. I went in for Botox on my forehead which I have gotten two times prior at other locations. When I had stated previously I had only gotten a very minimal amount 10-15 units the Dr. insisted 20-25 was the minimum and I must had been mistaken. As I couldn't remember exactly and he is the professional I agreed. I later reconfirmed and I had never received over 12 units at other locations. I do wish i had advocated for myself a bit more but I felt a bit steamrolled into getting more units then I was used to. In prior experiences everyone recommended less and coming back for more if needed. The final results were much more noticeable then I was used to (which was great!) but unfortunately my eye brows are a bit uneven which is something i've never experience with Botox. The difference is subtle but noticeable enough when I had my make up done for an event the make up artist commented on the difference. My appointment was later in the day but still before 5pm and it felt a bit rushed to be honest. The doctor was out the door before I had even paid with the front desk. (Its certainly possible it was a one off and he had somewhere to be) Positive note: the women working at the first desk was extremely friendly and kind when I had to sit down for a moment after becoming a little faint from the needles before leaving. I was perfectly numbed and offered laughing gas. Which by the way, I recommend. Crystal stayed with me every step of the way. She showed me the machine, let me hear the sound it makes, and explained exactly what areas she was going to treat and for how long. She was honest about results, and how long they would take. It was ok but they required I sign a lot of consent and release forms, I didn't see that as a good sign. I filled out the lengthy questionnaire and had a treatment that I had scheduled the appointment for and listened to recommendations. I scheduled an appointment for another treatment but was asked to pay for the treatment in advance to get the promotional discount but I hesitated to do because it was more than I wanted to charge so they quickly accepted a partial payment. They seem too eager to get as much money upfront as possible which is somewhat disconcerting. It's really too soon to give a fair review of this practice but I'm seeing some red flags concerning how they handle getting paid for their services. read more

I don't normally write reviews so when I do it's either extraordinary or horrible. My experience with Dr. Flashner was truly remarkable! I had fillers done (Radiesse Plus) to my face. I was looking tired and was starting to see some hollowness under my eyes and cheek area. With just one filler application he was able to take that all away! I now look more rested and feel a whole a lot better about my appearance. Just a note to add as well...he's very friendly and puts you at ease right away and because my appointment was later in the day I did not meet any of his staff with the exception of the receptionist and she too was very attentive to my needs. I am writing this review after my second visit to see Dr. Flashner for Botox (in the Norwell office). As a nurse practitioner, I've done my research on appropriate technique, duration, and pricing of injectables. After having had a bad experience with another dermatology clinic on the South Shore for 9 months, I decided to give SkinMD a try. The differences between visiting a practice that offers injectables "on the side" and a practice like SkinMD, which focuses strictly on cosmetic dermatology, are noticeable and important. First, the office is aesthetically pleasing and clean, bordering on luxurious. Staff are friendly and accommodating. Because you're not being squeezed in between patients who are billing insurance, Dr. Flashner is able to take his time with you, and hear what you liked (and what you didn't) about previous treatments. At the other dermatology practice I visited, I felt that the NP had one foot out the door the entire time. Dr. Flashner spent a full 30 minutes with me at each of my visits. He was open to hearing my concerns. When I said, for example, that with prior injections at another office I had some issues with new wrinkles above my eyebrows, he didn't brush it off--he simply adjusted his technique for my unique concerns and gave me a few units in these areas, completely eradicating the problem. Second, when you visit a provider who only does injectables on the side, you get old product. I requested my records from the other office and was disappointed to see that they used product that was 3 weeks old on me more than once. The effects of the injectables inevitably wore off at 6 weeks-2 months, which is unacceptable. I asked about this multiple times, after having done substantial research on the issue, and was told "not to have unrealistic expectations." This was an unfortunate response that again made me feel that I was the problem, despite my efforts to be patient (I went back 3 times, having read it may take 2 or 3 visits for the clinician to get results "just right"). I asked Dr. Flashner at my first visit about this, and he said simply, "I inject so much Botox that I use the vials in a single day. Fortunately, it isn't possible for that to be an issue here." Another problem solved. The effects of my Botox treatment from Dr. Flashner lasted a full 3 months. Even after 3 months, my wrinkles were still noticeably reduced. **Most importantly**, and I simply cannot stress this enough, technique and experience matter when it comes to who is injecting your Botox. There is a difference between a clinician who does this work twice a day and one who does it 20 times a day. At the other South Shore practice, I had issues with "Spock" eyebrows, a drooping brow on one occasion, and a completely frozen forehead on two occasions. This stuff takes awhile to wear off. You want someone who can get it right the first time. There seems to be a dearth of honest reviews on cosmetic injectables for those of us living on the South Shore, so I hope this was helpful. I cannot recommend Dr. Flashner highly enough. His pricing structure is fair and completely visible to the patient, he has a lovely office, an outstanding bedside manner, and the experience needed to give you the results you want. read more

I honestly do not have enough great things to say about Skin MD's Norwell location. I have gotten a few procedures done there; CoolSculpting, Venus Freeze and Laser Hair Removal. I am the BIGGEST baby when it comes to pain; all of the ladies that work there are so understanding of that fact and basically coddle me for which I couldn't be more thankful (side note - none of those procedures even remotely hurt, thankfully). The office is always pristine, is decorated to a tee and always smells so good! The moment you walk in, there is an air of serenity and calmness. I love (and appreciate) how the staff explains absolutely everything as they go and are so incredibly knowledgeable about all of the procedures they offer. I also like how they are keeping up with the industry and staying on top of all the newest and hottest trends that are out there. All of the ladies that work there can speak from experience too as they try out all of the procedures they offer on themselves - AWESOME; there is nothing better than first hand experience/knowledge. Additionally, when I say "ladies that work there," I mean some of the classiest, sophisticated, most welcoming women that could all be in one location.
