My girlfriend and I spent about 3 hours there the other day; sauna and cold plunge and then massages. The spa is in a business building; not what you would expect, but upon entering his suite; it was cozy and typical of a spa. We opted to both be in the sauna and cold plunge and then individually go in for massages once our sauna session was up. Sauna and adjoining room were clean upon arrival. Cold plunge tub was filled as we spoke (not ice cold, but cold enough for beginners). He reviewed protocol with us and left the room for us. Massages were individual and allowed us to utilize the sauna while the other was getting a massage. He was professional and it was a great massage. Pricing was extremely reasonable and we will be back. We normally go to Fire and Ice in Dedham, but they lack an in room cold plunge, which we really enjoy in combination with the sauna experience. I recommend Ron and his spa; he is passionate about a great experience. We look forward to returning. read more

I experienced U spa and Ron this weekend. The massage was amazing and I finished it off with the Finnish Body Scrub. The scrub left my skin smooth and rejuvenated. Worth every penny and I highly recommend this package. The facility is spotless and inviting as was the whole experience. U- Spa is U-nique. It's located in an office building, that, frankly, seems a little sketchy when you first go in. But don't let that put you off. I was amazed at the actual space when I walked through their door. It's lovely and serene. This place is about fitness and the first thing you see when you walk in is the training area. I did not have personal training, however, so I can't comment on that. Unlike other places, they have a sauna. Actually have two saunas. (One infrared, the other regular - the regular one, you can use for free before your massage.) My trip here was a gift for a body scrub and a massage in February of this year. Do NOT get the body scrub. Again, this place is about fitness, and he is not really set up for it. At leisure spa or a skin care type place, a body scrub would occur on a specially designed table, but this happened in the sauna, which was not that comfortable and I got salty water in my eyes more than once. Mind you, it wasn't a miserable experience, but I'd only give it two stars at best. The massage, on the other hand, was fantastic. First, I am not a tiny woman and my only covering was a single regular sized towel, yet, somehow, during the entire massage I was completely covered and appropriately draped. I have NO IDEA how he managed this, but he did. The massage was a combination of styles, including Thai, and there were points where I thought I was doing acrobatics even though I was just there. He climbed on the table, maneuvered me in to Yogaesque poses, stretched out my spine, dug out my knots... all great stuff and all without ever moving that towel in the wrong way. I would not have chosen to come here on my own, as it's a bit pricey for me, but if you've got the dough and you're in the area I recommend trying a massage at U-Spa. Especially with a warm sauna before hand, to loosen those muscles. I left feeling limber and relaxed and even the back pain and sciatica I had (which months later resulted in surgery, but that's an unrelated story) was significantly alleviated. read more

Ron is a God send! I texted Ron at 4:15 pm and got an appointment for 5:00 pm. When the massage started, I mentioned that I have ADHD really bad and ask for whatever style massage would be best. Ron mentioned that he has been following a Neurosurgeon that has done a lot of research on blue light and the importance of the sun's ultraviolet and infrared light that I have not been getting enough of. Thanks to Ron, I think I have found the reason for having difficulty concentrating. This literally is a life saver for me. Don't let the location of this place influence you- this is a GREAT little personal spa, with one of the best therapists I've had. As a travel editor, I've been to hundreds of spas and therapists in the past few years, and Ron is among the best. He's incredibly strong, but his massage is never overbearing and he clearly knows what he's doing. The space itself is immaculate, and the luxury of being able to take a private sauna before a massage is awesome- especially in Metro West. I haven't had personal training appointments, but a friend has and he was just as happy with the space, the trainer (also Ron) and the program. I have been to countless places for massage, always looking for a discount or Groupon special, but this place is worth the full price. The therapist is very intuitive, uses a variety of techniques to soothe, stretch and relax tense muscles. With consistent massages from him, I've noticed improvement in my body 's aches/pains, particularly along my spine and lower back. (due to Thai massage?) Recently I tried the mud treatment in the wet sauna. I cannot praise it enough. My skin with smooth and glowing for several days. Although the place is not the typical day-spa for pampered women, I give it an A+ rating. This place features things other places just can't provide (in addition to nice surroundings) - sense of wellness, total privacy, quiet. It's the only place where I've actually felt centered. Very strange that I had posted a review a while back and it disappeared! Ron is an experienced, knowledgeable therapist who helped in my recovery when I was having a lot of muscle spasms and inflammation in my L5/S1 joint. Granted I also did physical therapy, but that didn't feel as therapeutic or offer as much relief as when muscles received the right pressure and stretch. This review is for the massage and scrub...not fitness. This place is a hidden gem. The outside is an older two story office building just off Route 9 with dark hallways. Try to get past this and you are in for a treat! I was greeted by Ron who is half Finnish and given a tour of the space which is peaceful and serene. I was left with full run of the lounge/sauna area (a nice large space) as well as the massage room (also over-sized). I thoroughly enjoyed the Finnish sauna which turns into a steam room very quickly (which I LOVE) with the water poured over the coals. There is a cool shower right there as well. After about 20 minutes, Ron asked if I was ready and came in to do the scrub. It was a little awkward, but I was draped with towels and quite comfortable. The scrub was a two step process on both sides and left my skin smooth and sweet smelling. Afterwords, I was left to relax again and took my time enjoying the space and getting to the massage room where I rang a bell when I was ready. This was a fantastic massage!! The previous review details it perfectly and I would say it's one of the top five I've received and I've had at least one every other month for the past 10 years. read more

I had my first massage with Ron last night. As the other reviewers say, he is fantastic. The massage was indeed a combo of Swedish, Deep Tissue, and Thai (my first experience with the last). Ron's touch is highly intuitive, gentle and comforting, while still deeply relaxing and releasing stress and sore muscles. I have always preferred deep, fairly aggressive massage, so at first I was wondering if his approach would be right for me. On the contrary, I can't imagine going back to aggressive massage now. It seems amateurish compared to what Rob accomplished with far more nuanced and subtle technique. He's clearly very experienced and skilled, and also talented. I will definitely be going back and have already begun spreading the word to other friends. I should also say that the space is beautiful, immaculately clean and restful, and his prices are very very reasonable. Don't hesitate. You're in for a genuine treat! read more

I've received massage therapy from the proprietor for many years, following his prior locations, and was really glad when he achieved the final goal of opening his own professional facility. The place is immaculate and incredibly serene, which begins to alter your mood immediately upon entry. If you have the slightest interest in being made to feel totally relaxed and taken care of, check this place out. I came here with my sister for my Christmas gift. She's visiting from a Nordic country and thought it would be fun. We just used the steam sauna, a very relaxing time to sweat out the toxins and rejuvenate. It was a very clean place, with nice towels and robes. He had water available but we also brought our own drinks and snacks. I think next time we'd go for a longer time so we could relax more! read more

I've been to this spa several times now, and enjoy the experience more each time. It's a great place to relax and enjoy the heat of the two different saunas, and then get an excellent massage. The massage in a nice mix of deep tissue, Thai and Swedish styles, with a good deal of stretching - which I like very much. The massage therapist is very talented and quite intuitive. He is strong and works the muscles hard, but it's not generally painful at all. The facility is brand new and very clean. There are two saunas and a nice shower. The massage room is very warm and relaxing - with soothing music and a calming atmosphere. I've also indulged myself with a couple scrubs which has made it the ultimate spa experience. I treated myself to a Dead Sea treatment and massage today with Ron. I have chronic pain that I work tirelessly to keep under control with various methods. I haven't been sleeping too great the last few days in anticipation of major surgery on Monday. That said, I drifted off several times during the massage. Ron used some techniques I hadn't yet experienced at massage, but whatever he did worked. I realized a couple of hours later that my chronic back pain was gone. I don't expect that he worked a miracle and cured me, but for a few hours I didn't ache (a rare phenomenon without heavy pain meds.) I left feeling relaxed and prepared to go to surgery. I found this place on yelp as I was searching for a personal trainer to help motivate me to get my butt in gear. I said I'd try one session to see if I like the place. The trainer Ron is an awesome guy very well educated in the science of fitness and is an athlete himself. I think he is fantastic at what he does and enjoys it alot. Immiadetly after the first session which was alot of core exercise, stretching punch bag skipping etc I knew this was what I was looking for so I signed up for 20 sessions. U Spa was a great find! It's a hidden gem inside what looks like an office building. Ron has a nice and spacious private room with saunas (regular and infrared), a good shower for rinsing off and a couch to relax on next to a fireplace. He closes the curtains for the room so relaxation is most comfortable for whoever has booked their time to use one (or more) of the options. It's easy to book an appointment time online and his prices are very reasonable. Ron is very friendly and kind which makes the experience comfortable where this is a private studio. In a nondescript shopping center in Framingham is a great new spa with state-of-the-art saunas and complete bodywork tune-ups, including body scrubs, massage, even one-on-one physical training designed to help strengthen muscles for long term relief of chronic pain. The spa is very clean, has a masculine, Northern European ambiance and a restful vibe. I totally unwound and got the kinks out in the spa's high-humidity Finnish sauna and amazing infrared sauna that went deep to the core of my tense muscles. The massage I had (90 minutes) was the best ever, a combination of Swedish, deep-tissue, and Asian techniques. It was not some proscribed routine, but addressed my particular problem areas. I believe using both saunas beforehand helped contribute to its effectiveness. I think this is the only spa in metro Boston that features these two kinds of saunas. I used to live in Boston and work in Framingham - I went to U Spa for the first time based on yelp reviews. Other reviewers are right - don't be put off by the fact that this is located in an office building. Ron gave me the best massages I have ever had in my life (and I have had Thai massages IN Thailand!) I have since moved out of Boston and am sorely disappointed by every other massage I've ever had. This is a fantastic find! There is nothing else like this in or around the city of Boston. Ron is the owner, trainer and therapist. He is phenomenal with all that he does. His philosophy with training is simple, straight forward. He does not use overwhelming gym equipment but very effect tools that utilize our own body's weight for resistance training. The spa/gym has great atmosphere, state of the art steam, sauna and shower, it's a place you want to hang out at. The follow up message is indescribable.
