Grilled octopus with chickpeas minus a few bites
P E.

Very positive experience. Food was great. Waiter was congenial and helpful. Price point is high but worth it. Octopus appetizer, Duck entree and chocolate bread pudding dessert. All fabulous. The one negative was we were there for happy hour and they did not seem prepared for that.

I have not been to Restaurant Alba in a while but will be coming much more often! This is a hidden gem with amazing food and great service right in the heart of Malvern! What a wonderful atmosphere and community in down town Malvern!!

Sunchoke special

Alba brings fine dining to the suburbs. The quality of food offered on a menu that changes fairly frequently based on local ingredients availability stands out compared to anything else nearby. The restaurant itself has a fancier dining room area (where we had dinner) & a more lively bar room (where we grabbed pre-dinner drinks). Service is fast & the servers are knowledgeable about both food & wine pairings (helpful with such a large wine menu!). For appetizers, we split the anchovy bruschetta (salty & delicious!), sunchoke special (definitely get bread to dip in this sauce), & eggplant (fried without being oily). For my entree, I got the squab & foie gras ravioli. The brodo was light but flavorful, and it was definitely needed because the ravioli themselves were a touch dry (but packed with flavor). The lightness of the dish was perfect after all the apps we shared, and I left full without feeling stuffed. Alba always delivers! Food: A- Drinks: B+ Service: A- Ambiance: B+

Great food. Great wine. Knowledgable staff. The grass fed ribeye was so fatty I could not believe it was grass fed but super tasty.

Great ambiance. The wine list is scant and expensive but the food is very good. Service was top notch. We will definitely be back.

Went in a Friday night, no problem getting seated. We ate here a few years ago and it was…read moreexcellent so we were excited to come back. The Good: wedge salad and the baby spinach salad were wonderful. My wife had the Diver scallops and said that they were cooked beautifully and the risotto was excellent. The Irritating: the bathroom. One toilet, urinal for the men's room so there was constantly a line. I ordered a dogfishhead and it took 15min. The Dissappointing- I got the ribeye special. ($44) Steak was cooked well but had little to no flavor for a ribeye. Asparagus was undercooked and the puréed roasted red pepper mashed potatoes were just not a good pairing. The special was just a bad choice I guess. We will be back for another chance but I think I will stick with the regular menu items. We took the whole family back for a small graduation celebration. Only 6 of us. The Food was excellent! Wife again had the diver scallops and again they were delicious. Son had the short rib burger and just destroyed it! One order of the lamb chops- succulent & perfectly cooked. Two orders of short ribs which had a very deep and flavorful sauce that was delicious. I had the seafood special which was a fra-diavalo with shrimp, scallops, crab in a red sauce over penne. The sauce was a little thick for me but was spiced beautifully. Now for the downside. Ray, our server was polite, soft spoken, and forgetful. Multiple times drinks were asked for and were forgotten. Once again- IF THE GLASS LEAVES THE TABLE, GET A NEW GLASS, not the same one with the old lemons in it!! The bathroom situation hasn't improved but overall we would go back.

If you time it right, it's fine. If you don't, enjoy wandering around awkwardly with a beer while hunting for a seat that does not exist. I've definitely bailed a couple times after realizing I'd have better luck finding parking in Center City. Beer is... fine. Nothing life-changing, but there's enough variety to keep you from complaining too much. Usually a couple decent IPAs--I've been into Coastal Quest lately, so there's that. Food? Also fine. Specials? Also... fine. But credit where credit's due: the Italian Grinder Pizza actually fantastic! RIP Happy Hour beer deals, which is a choice I will continue to side-eye. Bombers still exist, though, so I guess we take the small wins. Real talk: this should be a 3-star place. BUT--the staff absolutely carries it to a 4. They're fast, friendly, somehow remember your name and drink, and will magically find you a seat when the place looks like a human traffic jam. Also always down to chat when it's slow, which makes you feel like a regular even if you're not. So come for the convenience, stay because the staff is awesome, and just emotionally prepare yourself for the 5pm chaos.

They close on the early side, but still a good spot, and I saw some families there too. Note, I don't know if it's all the time, but when we were there, ordering was at the bar, not at the table (except maybe food, but we didn't eat that evening). A bit loud, but that's to be expected. Looks like a fun spot for a larger gathering too.

When we first walked in, they said it would be a 20 min wait, but in less than 5 a table opened up! They had a really great variety of "fun" and healthy food. We started off with a chicken quesadilla that came with pico, lettuce and sour cream. It was really good, just a bit oily from the pan so we had to dab it a bit with a napkin. I opted for a fajita bowl that came with cauliflower rice, grilled chicken strips, grilled peppers and onions, avocado, cheese and pico. It was super flavorful, the chicken wasn't try at all and it really filled me up! My hubby got a chicken cheesesteak which he enjoyed but said that it was very "bready" and he wished for more chicken. The drinks looks great and pretty inexpensive but it was late when we went and I wasn't feeling it. They also had some delicious looking desserts, but we'll get to those another time we're in the area!
