    Kitchen in the studio

This hotel is actually on the WSU campus, although the hotel parking pass won't work on the WSU campus parking lots. It is easy to walk from the hotel to the school buildings. The hotel also provides with free shuttle bus to take us to any spot on the WSU campus. When I booked this hotel online, I wasn't too impressed by the photos. However, when we arrived our studio, we got a big WOW! The hotel studio was very spacious, and the kitchen was a full kitchen with everything equipped. If you are visiting your kids who study at the WSU, you can make them dinner here. Everything was very nice, just like what you would have at home. Although I did not cook during my stay, I did bring some to-go food back to the hotel and used the plates and the utensils provided by the hotel. I felt like I was eating at home. The bathroom was also spacious. There's only a shower, no bath tub, but it's okay for me since I am a shower person anyways. Because it's a studio type of room, the living room area and sleep area were separated, which was good as people who want to watch the TV won't bother people who want to sleep. My son even brought in his electrical keyboard to play in the living room area. Yes, the space was big enough to include a full size keyboard. The breakfast was pre-packaged food such as bagels and sandwiches. They were served warm on the food warmer. While we were a bit disappointed that we couldn't customize as we normally do at most hotels, we did understand that this might be the way to prevent COVID. Finally, the staff was very friendly and helpful. I really have nothing to complain about. If you are visiting the WSU, you really should consider this hotel.

This is our shower curtain. Mildew and mold all over it, we asked for it to be changed out in the morning and it was not changed that day.

This was nice until we took a shower. There was no shampoo or conditioner. The shower curtain was full of mold and mildew. They were less than helpful when I ask for curtain to be replace and supplies to be stocked.

In Pullman, Washington, this is THE hotel. Not only is it the only hotel actually on the WSU campus, it's also the newest and cleanest in town. Plus, there's a free shuttle to/from any place on campus or the nearby Pullman airport. The tiny lobby bar is tiny, but the bartender is a total gem with the best pours of drinks I've had ever ... ever. My nightly Gin & Tonic regimen was basically Gin & a splash of tonic. Perfect! It also seems like they have lobby events most evenings. The two coolest were free S'mores one night and the Southfork Public House Food Truck serving up Cougar Gold Mac & Cheese another night. I had the pleasure of staying here for a couple visits to town over a couple weeks and it was a good hotel for anyone doing business at WSU. My room was clean and new with a Kitchen, swivel TV, and large cool glass shower. The only annoyance was both rooms had full size refrigerators that were ridiculously loud ... so, I unplugged them and enjoyed a good nights rest. The on-site Fitness Center is a-ok while the Business Center is just a computer in the lobby next to the bar. Finally, breakfast was fast and free. DIY Waffles, fresh bananas, and scrambled eggs were the highlights. When it came time to book my next trip to Pullman for business, there was no doubt where I'd be staying ... THE hotel ... the Residence Inn Pullman.

It's not as fancy as a Marriott or Hilton, but you don't need that if you are just looking for a safe, convenient, and interesting place to stay! Nothing boring about Nintendos and a chalkboard to draw on in each room, a cozy fire pit, & the World's longest oatmeal bar (vegan-friendly, and you can ask for gluten-free oats, too)! The staff are all friendly and communicative via text, email, or phone! They will text you a door code if you arrive too late to check-in in person. Definitely stay here if you have dogs because this is one of the rare hotels that do not charge extra for dogs unless damage occurs! And while most hotels limit you to two dogs, we were okay with three (and we told them ahead of time)! The fire pit was a nice place to hang out with our group and doggos, and we met some nice people who were visiting with their dogs as well. You also get a free drink token upon arrival, and there are events on select nights. If you don't want to hang out at the hotel, downtown Pullman is just across the street! The hotel is on a main road, so you can hear the street starting around 6:30am, but the nights were very quiet. Because this is more of motel, there isn't daily cleaning by default and no iron or coffee amenities in each room, so just be mindful of that when planning. Parking in the main area can be a bit tight in the evenings but there is a another lot on the other side that remained mostly empty. We were even able to slow charge our EV in one of the spots. All in all, great small town hospitality experience for a great price! Way more interesting than a fancy hotel!

We enjoyed breakfast here both mornings, which was much better than anything on the go, and the happy hour bar was nice to unwind in. Check in was fine, although they forgot to acknowledge my Bonvoy rewards. Once I asked if they had bottled water, they remembered my reward snacks. The beds are hard and the pillows are soft, so that was a bummer. They provide soap and shampoo in the shower but no extra amenities/vanity kits. The rate was decent. My sole complaint is that whoever designed the ventilation did a bad job as the attached picture will illustrate. The bathrooms, which are very nice, generate a great deal of moisture and steam. The moisture and steam does not get sucked out of the bathrooms adequately by the ventilation. Consequently there is a great deal of moisture and mold in the walls and, in this case, on the ceiling. Those who have health reactions to such conditions should avoid this property.

The property design seemed to have been a larger brand back in the day, and Choice Hotels purchased it and put a Quality Inn within its place. I was here for only one night while traveling out of Seattle en route to northern Idaho + Montana in July 2021. I think that I paid $98 with tax, which is about right due to high demand with summer travel following Covid times from the year prior. My room on the 2nd floor was fine. A bit larger than expected, with well-maintained furniture that conveys a classic design of hotel furniture from a decade or so ago in the Palouse area. I found my room to be quite cozy and quiet before heading out to my destination the next day. Breakfast was so-so, in that an employee actually makes eggs, sausage, etc. I fully expected nothing but cereal and toast, yet was surprised that there was a little bit more of an offering (yet not a whole lot more). Parking can be confusing, in that there is a dentist's office that shares the parking lot with the hotel (I worried about him getting vehicles towed). The rest of the parking lot seems to be in the front of the building, yet slightly tight. Definitely recommend getting a parking space early, if applicable. I did notice a shuttle van parked next to the hotel, so check that out if you need rides to the airport. There is a pool here, as well as fitness center on the 2nd floor (didn't appear open). There is a walking/running trail across the street, and the Washington State University campus is in reasonable walking distance from this property off of Bishop. Downtown Pullman isn't that far away (just beyond the bridge from WSU) with eateries and other small shopping venues. Overall, I'd say that this particular Quality Inn has an above average value than most of the other Quality Inn properties that represent the brand.

Third, we could not understand the motel's office attendance language. Her English was hideous. We had to ask her to repeat helself several times. The issue was that the reservation wasn't under our name, it was made by our granddaughter. As we showed her the online receipt with my granddaughter's name on it, she kept asking questions without reviewing our printout. After finally getting it all squared out, we had to give her a credit card to hold the room. She said it was in case of damages. We understood but she later returned to the room asking for my granddaughter to fill out the form, she said it had to be filled out by the same person who booked it. We called our granddaughter (luckily she was in the area, as we were in Pullman for her graduation). The woman asked her for her credit card as well. We were outraged. We checked out early in the morning. We will never stay there again! By the way, the woman appeared to be either the owner or the owner's kin of the establishment.
