Although there are a couple of things that bring this location down, but they are addressing some of them with upcoming renovations. So, if you're going to the University of Idaho, this hotel is really well located. It's really close to campus, and provides a good option for access to campus. The hotel is really large. It has a conference center attached to it. There's an indoor pool, and a fitness center. They also have a restaurant and a bar in the hotel itself. The main issues with this locations are that it's pretty outdated. The rooms clearly haven't been updated for a while, and the interior of the hotel is also a little bit on the older side. Now, they are addressing this and are currently renovating the bathrooms and all of the hotel rooms. So this may change in the coming months. The other thing that brought this location down for me specifically for my stay. There was a really loud noise coming from what I think was the central air, and there was nothing that I could do about it the entire time that I was there. Overall, this is a good option if you're looking for somewhere to stay in Moscow. Just be aware that it's a little outdated, and a little worn out. But, like I said, they're updating the rooms as we speak.

The hotel was fully booked with many being students and families. Even though the hotel was busy, everything flowed nicely and it didn't seem stressful at all. Check in was quick online prior to arrival and when we arrived to pick up the key around 6 PM there was no line at the front desk. We were able to get parking just outside the entrance of our wing. When we took the kids to the pool, there were only a few people in there. And in the morning, there was plenty of food for everybody eating the complementary breakfast. We stayed in a bottom floor interior room. Our window looked out over the interior courtyard. There were a few people lounging about on the patio out there, but it felt perfectly private in our room. The walls are solid concrete brick. I thought that was interesting, but it probably contributed to the absolute silence during our stay. The beds were comfortable and they had all the things to make it comfy in the room like a coffee maker and refrigerator. The location is excellent being right across the street from the university and Winco and down the street from all the shopping. I highly recommend staying here if you want a really quiet night stay in a nicer hotel for the area.

Proximity to the U of I is just across the street near Walmart and an Applebees. Compared to the other hotels on the block the La Quinta appears to offer ideal pricing. All rooms are accessed inside through the lobby. The lobby opens into a seating area and everything appears clean and well managed. Just beyond the lobby is an enclosed indoor pool. We could smell the chlorine as we walked in the front doors. Check in was very easy and the employees were all very friendly. Our room was on the second floor, and it was easy to access via the staircase or the elevators. We booked a king room. The room had a lot of floor space next to the bed near the window. The room came with a coffee maker, microwave, and mini fridge. Everything appeared to be surface clean. The bed was very comfortable and also was visibly clean. They provided five very nice pillows on the king bed. The temperature in the room was perfect for a comfortable night sleep. The bathroom was sufficient. I like that they provided Dove toiletries. I would say that the rooms are pretty quiet as the hotel is set pretty far back from the street and there is a hill behind the property so you really won't hear any outside noise. Our room had a locked adjoining door to our neighbors and we could loudly hear their TV and their voices a bit later into the evening than we would've liked. Once they went to bed we had a very quiet night sleep. I found this super annoying but normal for hotels. Breakfast in the morning was a very simple spread. Fortunately, they provided hot options like eggs and sausage and they had a single waffle maker, which was very very popular. For the price of the room and the included breakfast, I would definitely stay at this location again . This was a very good value.

I was just what we needed of the two bags, a desk, I'm a fridge, and TV and chest of drawers. Everything seemed very clean and the beds were comfortable, offering a ton of different pillows We did have a view of a dumpster which wasn't great but it also didn't matter because we just literally needed to be at the hotel to sleep and then go about our days. They respected our "do not disturb" sign and let us check out one hour later One thing we do not like is soft water and it was very soft so of course that makes you feel like you can never get the soap entirely off your body. But then for a few hours it was randomly hard water but then returned to soft water. So I'm not sure what was going on It was great for the price that we paid

Lucky to even get this room. I can't tell you how pleasantly surprised we were with this establishment. It made me feel like we were staying in a 5 star resort. The room was completely clean and we stayed for 2 nights so they cleaned it on our last day as well. There is a full breakfast every morning. I don't mean like some crappy coffee and donuts. Full breakfast. The folks there literally made me feel like family and I think that's an absolute superlative standard that needs to be pointed out. There is no elevator but found the walk up to the second floor very short. The room had a funny smell, was old and the floors were not clean. The tub is dingy, the bathrooms floor was not clean, and we had to flip the switch for the power surge strip to turn the tv, microwave, and fridge on, no coffee pot in room. The blankets were thin and the mattress was not comfortable but not too uncomfortable, our room also had a hanging rack right next to one of the beds which caused a few head bumps. There are two vending machines in the lobby, one has some frozen sandwiches. Breakfast is very minimal. It included yogurt which is precooked into mini cups, toast, english muffins, cereal, coffee, apples, a waffle bar, hard boiled eggs, and apple & orange juice machine in a small dining area. There was plenty of parking and the area seems safe. If the weather is nice, it's a short walk to the university. There's also a target, Walmart, winco and other shopping and eateries within a 5 minute drive. Although this hotel is very rough, we felt comfortable and enjoyed our stay, the other guests were pleasant, it was relatively quiet, and the staff were friendly.

After a hard day's work, my father walked into the Hillcrest Motel and inquired about a room. He was asked why he was in town, and he told the receptionist that he was there for his job (he makes ends meet for his family by cooking food at festivals and fairs--and he is serving food at the Moscow fair this week). Inexplicably, when the Hillcrest's employees learned that he was working at the fair, they turned him away. They told him that they would not rent a room to him. That is unacceptable. I grew up watching my dad work endless hours to provide for us. To hear that he was refused a warm bed, far from home, because of what he does for a living--is antithetical to everything I believe in. Indeed, it's treatment like this that inspired me to become a lawyer. Discriminating against someone based on who they are--whether that be their skin color, their gender, their age, or yes, their job--is deplorable. It runs counter to the most fundamental notions of equality. And that a company would turn away a man, a father, a husband--because of what he does to provide for his family--should give us pause. I can only hope that the management here will seriously consider what it means to discriminate against folks and whether that is truly how they want to treat their customers.

It was mid 20's both days we were there and our room had no heat. They gave us a space heater and a blanket on the 2nd night and then offered a $50 credit upon checkout. I'm taking this to the BBB and more since supplying heat is a basic necessity for a motel to provide. Sinks both had faulty nozzles that sprayed everywhere and the shower was either lava hot or glacier fed, along with a bad nozzle that seemed more like a WaterPik. My cat is at WSU getting radiation treatment for cancer. We drove 6 hours to spend the weekend with him as he has to be hospitalized for 2 weeks. So this morning I called reception and spoke to Kristi to make sure no one will come into our room while we were out getting coffee because I don't want my cat to get out and she literally started yelling at me telling me to get my cat out and she's going to fine me $250. I explained the website said pets and we called and verified. She just kept shouting and would not listen. We went to reception and I pulled up the website to show her and she went ballistic on us. We asked to speak to management and she refused. She told us if we did not leave she would call the cops as we are making her feel threatened and unsafe. We told her to go ahead and please call the cops and we would wait. She did call them. Kristi locked KitKat in the room and would not allow us to get him out. This cold hearted volatile woman locked my 14 year old cat with cancer in the room! Cops were great but all they could do was get the room opened and make sure we left as hotels can refuse anybody for any reason. Kristi is an absolutely horrible disgusting human being. They also charged us for 2 nights and threatened a $250 fine, that's theft! Also just by the way they gave us the wrong key card when we arrived and we walked in on a hotel guest in the bed! They also charged us for 2 nights!
