Be careful crossing it so your tires on your rig get lined up. It's not really a park for big RVs. We were among mostly small campers and people in tents. The campground host however was very nice. And the creek running through is a nice feature. If you're looking for that nice RV park and If you don't mind having to get your truck and rig washed after you leave, you'll love this place.

Only an hour away for us, so an easy getaway for Mom & Dad. Wifi was a godsend, because our T-Mobile phones were useless. It was the only way to communicate with family if needed. The only other hiccup was a real low power pole. I'm rather tall, and it was knee's down and look under the cowl awkwardly--and while I am quite ambulatory, it really was kind of a pain in the.... The 30amp surge protector was essentially lying on the ground after plugging in, and it's not a big one. Wouldn't have been happy if it was raining in that regard. Certainly not a dealbreaker, and all-in-all a good start to getting back into RVing. It's central to all of this beautiful and unique area, and an affordable place to stay...

Showers are big, great hot water and big bathroom area with a blow dryer. Attached is a 3 washer and dryer laundry room with reasonable prices. Couldn't ask for a better place. Full hook ups with cable TV. Gravel sites with a picnic table. Highly recommend this place!!

Be prepared are it is a very and narrow park, but well done. This is one of the best parks we have ever stayed at during our travels. There were even a couple of little birds - maybe swallows flying around or sitting way up in the beams during the wedding that added a tiny chirp here & there that was a very neat addition. They brought in a wonderful caterer that our friends often use in CDA & they used the facilities kitchen & it looked like that all went well. The food was excellent. If it was mid to end May or later I think the outdoor area between the tabernacle & the indoor reception area would be perfect for an outdoor reception. The grounds are just beautiful. I was surprised at the number of small children - 1/2 or more of the number of adults to kids who found a variety of things to do so they kept busy the whole time & they really had a great time. There was a bouncy house & then at least 2-3 teens to organize outside games & it was the best family friendly wedding Ive been to since I was young. This was the first wedding I've been to where all the kids were fun to see & happy almost the whole time. Another thing about this venue... it was just about an hour drive from CDA. I don't like to drive but the drive was very easy & it was a beautiful drive the whole way. It was also easy to find. I would definitely recommend this place. I could see it find other uses besides weddings like maybe even birthday parties for any age especially young kids or Quinceaneras etc...

Very clean Forest Service campground in a sort of ponderosa pine grove, right on the side of the…read moreBanks-Lowman highway. The highway isn't too heavily traveled, so the sites are fairly quiet, with spectacular views of the surrounding mountains. Tables, BBQ grills and fire rings...plus very clean vault toilets and running water. Being in view of the highway, the sites don't feel very secluded or private -- but that is more than made up for by the fact that directly across the highway is a little all-natural sandy-bottomed hot spring, right on the banks of the Payette River. As far as I know you can soak any time, day or night, in a little rectangular pool that used to be part of a bathhouse or something back in the day. We walked over from our campsite after dark, and hiked down for a very relaxing soak. This place is not hardcore, remote or rugged....but I still give it 5 stars because it's clean, beautiful and EASY! And sometimes, that's what you want! I would definitely stay here again...but if you don't want to camp out, you can use the springs for free by parking in the little day use lot at the trailhead, just across from the campground.

One night would've been enough unless you're big into fast boating. On the bright side, no annoying rap or music blaring from any campsite. Nice neighbors. Same with Ponderosa State Park. Just that Ponderosa exceeded expectations. 5 stars. Especially with the miles of beautiful ponderosa pine tree nice trails and bike trails. But mosquitos there now in July. Update: I hear stinkin rap. Stop that nasty stuff. Anyway, this is not a place I would return, sad as it sounds. It's just not that great.

Once there you find a campground with full hookup and non hookup sites, flush toilets, showers, boat dock, and even an archery range! The trails are great, the staff is awesome, the reservoir is amazing! The deer are so tame, we had them in our camp every day. Even with so many of us, the staff was super helpful and always took the time to answer our questions. We also did some geo caching, which is fun for the kids and grandparents, too. Kind of wished there was a place for WiFi service. It is camping, so you don't really want it everywhere, but one hotspot so you can adjust reservations would be helpful. But the staff were so amazing, one of them actually worked for the core of engineers, and was so helpful and informative, he was really interesting, and went above and beyond to help all of us have the very best time we could have. Thanks guts, this will be an annual family camping trip!

It is an old campground, though. But it's right smack in the middle of town, and minutes from anywhere you are heading. There is a tent area, and let's just say that those folks were probably NOT on a groovy walking tour of the Palouse, wink wink. I did consider carrying some hollow-point insurance on this trip, but saw it was going to be a full park, with parents dropping off their college kiddos at WSU, so thought that little extra measure was unnecessary this time. Considering there are no brick & mortar bathroom/shower facilities, the $35-night fee is pretty reasonable. But there is a large pee-atorium for folks like us that don't hook up our sewer line. Wifi wasn't great, but you can check weather/email/basics, and I always appreciate that. We'd have no problem staying here, again...

Walking distance to shops, brewery and restaurants and short drive to the biggest Walmart I've ever seen (Not a Walmart fan, but this is a great store). You can only stay up to 10 days, but it's quick and easy to reserve online.
