Nice shops and restaurants all around that you can stroll to. Free parking. Coffee maker, fridge, microwave, and hair dryer in room. We felt very safe for walking in the area at night. Lots of food choices nearby. After a sleep we determined that the bed comfort was good to ok. Pretty solid and firm mattresses with white sheets and a thin blanket. Good temp control in room. Not too hot but not cold. Best part was check in and check out via text is amazingly convenient. Cons: paper thin walls, so we can hear noise from other rooms. Plus the noisy traffic on Jefferson Street is very loud since it's a very, very busy street basically all day and night. Noted at 11pm there is still constant traffic swishing by. Super Thin windows with tissue paper thin blinds so there is absolutely no noise buffering. Could also hear music beats vibrating through walls. Sorry your ear plugs do not protect from music vibrations since there is no definitive sound but still can feel the beat while not hearing lyrics. I'm a heavy sleeper but woken up by this noise after several hours sleeping is too much! Then in the morning around 5:30 AM, the noise started through the walls again with the neighbor's bedside clock alarm going off . The in-room provided alarm clocks suck...as ours unexpectedly went off by 6am as well!!!!!! Plus we could hear the neighbor's voices through the walls word for word in the morning. An additional improvement suggestion that I think is very important for personal safety: the owners should install a deadbolt in addition to a single swing bar lock at the top of the door that they currently offer. Since this motel does remote check in via text their door locks are pin coded. It is very unsettling to think how little security the physical doors offer with a single swing lock inside. I would've felt much more secure inside the room if they also had a manual deadbolt above the door knob. Noted, this accommodation was much less expensive than other places in the area that were double what we paid here. Still we paid well over $200 on a Friday night. This is bottom tier lodging for sure but a trade off in saving money while being in an excellent location. Thankfully the streets in this area appear safe. Location is excellent for convenience but maybe not rest. Beware.

The hotel was fully booked with many being students and families. Even though the hotel was busy, everything flowed nicely and it didn't seem stressful at all. Check in was quick online prior to arrival and when we arrived to pick up the key around 6 PM there was no line at the front desk. We were able to get parking just outside the entrance of our wing. When we took the kids to the pool, there were only a few people in there. And in the morning, there was plenty of food for everybody eating the complementary breakfast. We stayed in a bottom floor interior room. Our window looked out over the interior courtyard. There were a few people lounging about on the patio out there, but it felt perfectly private in our room. The walls are solid concrete brick. I thought that was interesting, but it probably contributed to the absolute silence during our stay. The beds were comfortable and they had all the things to make it comfy in the room like a coffee maker and refrigerator. The location is excellent being right across the street from the university and Winco and down the street from all the shopping. I highly recommend staying here if you want a really quiet night stay in a nicer hotel for the area.

Although there are a couple of things that bring this location down, but they are addressing some of them with upcoming renovations. So, if you're going to the University of Idaho, this hotel is really well located. It's really close to campus, and provides a good option for access to campus. The hotel is really large. It has a conference center attached to it. There's an indoor pool, and a fitness center. They also have a restaurant and a bar in the hotel itself. The main issues with this locations are that it's pretty outdated. The rooms clearly haven't been updated for a while, and the interior of the hotel is also a little bit on the older side. Now, they are addressing this and are currently renovating the bathrooms and all of the hotel rooms. So this may change in the coming months. The other thing that brought this location down for me specifically for my stay. There was a really loud noise coming from what I think was the central air, and there was nothing that I could do about it the entire time that I was there. Overall, this is a good option if you're looking for somewhere to stay in Moscow. Just be aware that it's a little outdated, and a little worn out. But, like I said, they're updating the rooms as we speak.

One of the highlights of our stay was the excellent complimentary full buffet breakfast! There were plenty of delicious choices, including scrambled eggs, breakfast sandwiches, English muffins, cereal, bacon, hash brown bites, apples, and more. They also provide coffee, tea, and hot water. It was a great way to start the day! The hotel also has a fitness center, indoor swimming pool, and free parking, which made our stay even more convenient and enjoyable. We truly enjoyed staying here and would definitely come back in the future. A special thank you to Allison Radel, Assistant General Manager, for being so welcoming and providing such wonderful hospitality. Everything seemed very clean and the beds were comfortable, offering a ton of different pillows We did have a view of a dumpster which wasn't great but it also didn't matter because we just literally needed to be at the hotel to sleep and then go about our days. They respected our "do not disturb" sign and let us check out one hour later One thing we do not like is soft water and it was very soft so of course that makes you feel like you can never get the soap entirely off your body. But then for a few hours it was randomly hard water but then returned to soft water. So I'm not sure what was going on It was great for the price that we paid

I knew that was a lie, because I've visited many La Quinta Hotels and other properties, including Super 8 and Days Inn. And, I've never had a problem. There is no elevator but found the walk up to the second floor very short. The room had a funny smell, was old and the floors were not clean. The tub is dingy, the bathrooms floor was not clean, and we had to flip the switch for the power surge strip to turn the tv, microwave, and fridge on, no coffee pot in room. The blankets were thin and the mattress was not comfortable but not too uncomfortable, our room also had a hanging rack right next to one of the beds which caused a few head bumps. There are two vending machines in the lobby, one has some frozen sandwiches. Breakfast is very minimal. It included yogurt which is precooked into mini cups, toast, english muffins, cereal, coffee, apples, a waffle bar, hard boiled eggs, and apple & orange juice machine in a small dining area. There was plenty of parking and the area seems safe. If the weather is nice, it's a short walk to the university. There's also a target, Walmart, winco and other shopping and eateries within a 5 minute drive. Although this hotel is very rough, we felt comfortable and enjoyed our stay, the other guests were pleasant, it was relatively quiet, and the staff were friendly.

After a hard day's work, my father walked into the Hillcrest Motel and inquired about a room. He was asked why he was in town, and he told the receptionist that he was there for his job (he makes ends meet for his family by cooking food at festivals and fairs--and he is serving food at the Moscow fair this week). Inexplicably, when the Hillcrest's employees learned that he was working at the fair, they turned him away. They told him that they would not rent a room to him. That is unacceptable. I grew up watching my dad work endless hours to provide for us. To hear that he was refused a warm bed, far from home, because of what he does for a living--is antithetical to everything I believe in. Indeed, it's treatment like this that inspired me to become a lawyer. Discriminating against someone based on who they are--whether that be their skin color, their gender, their age, or yes, their job--is deplorable. It runs counter to the most fundamental notions of equality. And that a company would turn away a man, a father, a husband--because of what he does to provide for his family--should give us pause. I can only hope that the management here will seriously consider what it means to discriminate against folks and whether that is truly how they want to treat their customers.

I'm taking this to the BBB and more since supplying heat is a basic necessity for a motel to provide. Sinks both had faulty nozzles that sprayed everywhere and the shower was either lava hot or glacier fed, along with a bad nozzle that seemed more like a WaterPik. My cat is at WSU getting radiation treatment for cancer. We drove 6 hours to spend the weekend with him as he has to be hospitalized for 2 weeks. I explained the website said pets and we called and verified. She just kept shouting and would not listen. We went to reception and I pulled up the website to show her and she went ballistic on us. We asked to speak to management and she refused. She told us if we did not leave she would call the cops as we are making her feel threatened and unsafe. We told her to go ahead and please call the cops and we would wait. She did call them. Kristi locked KitKat in the room and would not allow us to get him out. This cold hearted volatile woman locked my 14 year old cat with cancer in the room!
