Stopped here for some appetizers and beer between flights. When we walked in to seat ourselves, I should have known to walk away when I had to warn our kids not to slip on greasy floor. The chairs slid around like they were on ice. We did have fun seeing who could make their chair slide around the most without touching the floor, though. We ordered 3 appetizers. Cheese curds, chips & guacamole, and beer cheese dip pretzel. The plates we were given to eat on were all coated with leftover grease from previous customers. So after writing our name on them with our fingers, we politely asked for new plates and explained to her the problem. The waitress brought out 4 more dirty plates without a word. So, we ate on napkins. Classy. The pretzel and beers were the highlight. The "guacamole" was actually half pico and we dumped out over a tablespoon of juice from the guac. The chips were very stale. Luckily, they made an extra to-go order and they brought that out to us as well. Those chips were at least not as stale. The cheese curds were fine, but were plated in an odd manor. It came on a large, over sized plate with a smear of something on it in the other corner that looked like it was dropped on there by mistake. That also included extra grease on the serving plate and bits of green somethings from whoever had that plate last. They need to invest in some soap. read more

Beer varieties were great. But the foods on the menu were very limited: a few burgers, sandwiches, and tacos. Service was just fine but a bit slow. The restaurant was small, loud and packed. Seats and tables were small and not quite comfortable. Tables were so close to each other that people with luggage may be bumping to each other between aisles. They had live music, which I don't care much in a diner at the airport. Overall experience was just OK. Since there are many choice around MSP airport. I don't think I am coming back. read more

This is probably the worst wrap I have ever eaten. At this point I don't even want to call it a "Chicken Pesto Wrap" which cost me $11. On display they made it seem like its a decent wrap, but after a bite you will be left with "greens" and greens only. See pic for details. And if the corporate see this, you guys should be ashamed! Decent food and place. We were looking for breakfast in the airport during a pretty long layover. They have a few option there and even 1 for vegetarian. The food was good. We tried the republic omelette and the hue is rancheros. Both were good choices. Coffees were good accompaniment with those. The place was clean and organized in the morning we went. I mean, I like craft beer, so maybe this would be a darn nice pub So, truth is their craft beer selection is pretty limited to your basic local breweries like surley, summit, and a few other locals. I think they could do much better. At the very least have a few seasonal rotating taps. But no. So sad. I know I am at airport and need to expect airport food, but this really isn't good. I ordered the open faced Reuben because I LOVE Reubens. Yum. There's just something about them that makes my tummy happy. Not do here. The grilled bread tasted like it was swiped with rancid old oil instead of butter. That alone absolutely ruined the entire sandwich. Nice touch was warm kettle chips served on side. Students of McNally Smith college of music play on thurs-sun eves and it's really fun to have live music. It's 10/31/19 at 9:40am and I just ordered the 'Republic Classic' which is a breakfast meal. The potatoes that came with the meal were burnt and appeared somewhat rotten. I waited 10 minutes to see whether the potatoes they served other customers looked the same. They were okay. When I asked the waiter why mine were burnt and seemingly unfit for human consumption, he simply shrugged his shoulders. I left the food uneaten. If you want a world of hurt, go eat here. read more

Avoid this place. I have given this place 3 tries over serval months and each time it's been an awful experience. If you sit at the bar you are likely to get a bar tender who is annoyed that you are ordering food and not just drinks. The kitchen will not do any special orders or request. If you're waiting for a flight that's delayed and want a bite to eat and a quick drink, look elsewhere. Sign says "seat yourselves." So my group of 7 and I found a seat, alone the table hadn't been cleaned and cleared of all the food and plates. Waited at least half an hour, no one acknowledged us or helped us, let alone cleaned off the table. Waitresses and waiters simply kept walking past us as if we weren't there. We finally decided to get up and ask for help after another few minutes. Lady just looked at us and said "ok, I'll let someone know." After another 5 minutes the person assigned to our section came out and "apologized". She cleared off about a quarter of the table, then left for another 5-10 minutes. Handed out menus and didn't even bring one for everyone, didn't bring out silver ware, and left the other half of the table completed dirty, plates and food stuck to the table and everything. We ended up losing our appetite after having to clean off the table ourselves. As I write this review, the pile of dishes we had to move onto an empty table is still sitting there 10 minutes later. I stopped in here on May 5 at noon. That's a Friday and people who travel know that usually Friday lunchtime is one of the peak times for an airport and therefore an airport restaurant. This place is very conveniently located. Very close to gate C1 and across from the McDonald's, near the opening to Concourse D. They seem to have a full-service bar with one bartender. One bartender is sufficient to do the bar. They only had one server which was probably not sufficient for the dining room. The young lady who was working was named Kayla. I do a lot of traveling and therefore eaten in a lot of restaurants. I was impressed by her work ethic and speed. The service was excellent. I saw a lot of different meals that came out. They looked very good. I had the steak salad and I will say that was one of the best that I've ever had. This is not a place to stop in if you only have 30 minutes to make your gate unless it's an off-peak time. If you have the time, I would highly recommend it. read more

Quick stopover brought me to this little gem. Live entertainment and a decent wine selection would make any gal happy! I ordered the fish tacos at my servers suggestions and they were pretty good considering I was in an airport. My only complaint was that the tacos shells are corn so fell apart as soon as you picked them up. Besides that, they were delicious and fresh! Literally some of the worst service I've ever received This place is one of the few sit-down spots in the airport, and they offered many beers on tap so hubby was sold. We sat for probably 15 minutes before anyone came by to get our drink order. Another 15 minutes until our drinks were brought (a simple water and beer). Probably 40 minutes later my simple grilled cheese and his tacos came out. Great, we finally got our food, but had no silverware or napkins. Waited another 10 minutes to flag someone down for some damn flatware. Another 10 minutes after that to get ketchup and hot sauce. Mind you, by this time the food is cold. And the food was also mediocre. We never got water refills once, and hubby was never offered another beer. The lady working the front was also running food to tables, but there were two workers who seemed like their only job was to bring food to tables, and nothing more because I watched them stand around on the side and converse when there were clearly disgruntled customers all over the dining room. There was a woman next to me who received the same service and she was getting ready to leave before even ordering. The men on the other side of me had been waiting 15 minutes for their beers. There seemed to be some serious miscommunication and organization issues going on with the way the place was being run and who was serving which table. We would have rather gotten McDonald's across the way, at least our food would have been hot and it wouldn't have taken over an hour! read more

Do NOT use their food truck to cater any event. My fiancé and I talked to them about using them for our wedding and they screwed us over. We went to taste the food, loved it and said we want to move forward. We proceeded to send them two emails requesting to formally book them, but they never responded for over a month. Finally they did, but then days later before we could book them, they send us an email saying they booked someone else for our weekend. They obviously are not organized and don't have the staff to handle this part of their business. In the end we're relieved we didn't go with them because it probably would have been a disaster. UPDATE- Ended up using Wyn 65 for our wedding and they were AMAZING. Great food, great service, and they replied to emails within hours. Again, avoid Republic and Red River Kitchen like the plague. The burger was over done and below average, leaving me wishing for a CC Club burger. Felt kinda ill for the flight as a result. The beers looked like 12oz pours, at least you get 20+oz pours at the other upscale joints at the airport. I was searching for a salad containing a quality protein in my visit today to MSP after a long weekend of carb loading. Republics Steak Salad was a perfect fit. It is a romain lettuce mixed with caesar dressing topped with bacon crumbles, croutons, hard boiled egg and quartered tomatoes with a cut of flat iron steak. The steak was a standout in my plate. Well seasoned, well cooked (to a medium/well in my case) and extremely tender. Great light option in the airport with a solid steak serving to fill you up. Came in at 6:15 in the morning, Republic was relatively empty (maybe 10 other people, most sitting at the bar). We had a large amount of bags, so we hung our uniforms on a chair behind us at a different table. The waitress came over to us and without a good morning, hello, anything, she said "are you going to sit over there or here, we can't have you at both tables, because people will want to sit there". Mind her, there was almost no one at any of the tables, and if there was a sudden rush of 100+ people we would gladly move our uniforms. Terrible service, and I'm sure the food is just as bad.
