We were able to schedule a fitting right away, with only two weeks to prom and were able to pick up the tux and accessories the week of prom. I had my son meet me at the store for his fitting. I was running less than ten minutes late but by the time I arrived, they were already finished and were waiting for me. My son was measured and he had already picked out his tux, shirt, and shoes within that time. He went with an all-black tux, red tie, and black shoes. The rental also came with cufflinks. It was nice to know everything was included and I didn't have to get anything else. I thought the tux fit him well, but he did complain on the day of prom that the pants were a bit tight, which would have been an easy fix had he said something sooner. He looked very handsome regardless. All in, the total was $189.47. This was our first time renting a tux for prom so I don't have any other experience to compare it to, but we were pretty pleased with the experience Celebrity Tux and Tails!

I remembered watching the Oscars this year and seeing Chris Hemsworth in an open-collar tuxedo that looked fantastic. I researched who he was wearing and found out it was a Tom Ford tuxedo, costing several thousand dollars. I considered buying this tuxedo but quickly dismissed the idea as irrational. So, I began looking up tuxedo rentals and found Celebrity Tux and Tails in Peoria. This was a convenient location for me since I live not too far away, near the 303 freeway. I checked their website and found a lot of good information and sample tuxedos that appealed to me. They recommended making the initial fitting appointment eight weeks in advance, which I did. I wasn't sure why they suggested such a long lead time, but it turns out they do custom tailoring for tuxedo rentals. I had never heard of tailoring a rental before and was pleasantly surprised. When I arrived for my appointment, I was professionally greeted, and we got right down to business. I showed the employee the picture of the tuxedo I wanted to recreate, and she quickly directed me to a style very close to the Tom Ford example I wanted. I immediately said yes. She took my measurements, and I tried on the jacket and pants of the style I wanted. I brought in my own shoes, which she factored into the tailoring. I told her the date I needed the tuxedo by, left a reasonable deposit, and was on my way. I inquired about possibly buying the tuxedo and was quoted a surprisingly reasonable price. I ultimately decided to rent this time. Several weeks later, I arrived to pick up my tuxedo at the pre-scheduled time and pay my rental balance. I tried it on, and the gentleman who assisted me made sure everything was perfect, including pre-configuring everything so all I had to do was remove the tuxedo from the garment bag and put it on. It literally took less than five minutes to get dressed for the wedding. I enjoyed the wedding in comfort and style and returned the tuxedo on the pre-scheduled return date without any issues. When I dropped it off, the employee quickly inspected the tuxedo, and I was on my way. Throughout the process, I was kept informed through text messages, which were very convenient reminders. My whole tuxedo rental experience with Celebrity Tux and Tails exceeded my wildest expectations. I will always use them in the future for my black-tie events, and I highly recommend you do too!

Well, they did have a vast selection and they were very kind while we were there, and did help out…read morewhen things were wrong. Out of the 6 suits we rented, 5 were wrong in terms of size. When I was measured, I lost 10 pounds went back in and it was still too small. Now they were very helpful when things were wrong and they helped us replace things quickly and with a smile. However, one of the guys they helped out because his pants were too small, they sent him home with the same pair of pants. I'm assuming on accident but nevertheless, he had to go through the wedding with an atomic wedgy the entire time. Not to mention when one of the other groomsmen told me that he paid less for his groomsmen at his wedding, and they were buying the suits, not renting like we were. The only person whose suit fit correctly the first try around, was the guy that they didn't measure, but had his measurement sent in by another tailor. Again, the service was great, they were very kind and helpful. But messing up every suit that THEY measured, is pretty bad. They wouldn't be my first choice going back however I would be open to giving them a shot in the future.

The good: very easy to rent a kayak; I arrived 15 minutes early and they were fine with me starting…read moreearly. I rented for 1 hour. The price, $23, is very reasonable considering that a one day pass to go on Tempe Town Lake is $10. I am an experienced kayaker so brought my own kayaking clothes, PFD, dry bags, paddle, and cart. Moving the kayak from the store to the water was easy. The bad: the kayak was very slow , tracking was marginal,, and it handled a light chop poorly. My time was almost up and I was heading back to the dock when I realized I was sinking. My PFD kept me safe but my paddle leash, secured to my seat strap, came loose. The strap had unhooked from the gunnel. So there I was floating in the water with my paddle while the kayak floated away. I was able to swim to a nearby dock and a young man pulled me out. Then he used a life ring on a rope to pull in the kayak. My deepest gratitude goes out to him. The guy at Northshore said I might have taken a kid's kayak but their website makes no mention of this option and there were no signs on the rack. Except for asking if I was ok, Northshore has been completely unhelpful.
