I have been buying and renting gear from Ski Pro since my high school days. I love skiing and have been doing it since I was a young teenager. I started out skiing and then briefly switched to snowboarding. I bought my first demo skis from these guys when I switched back to skiing over ten years ago. I finally splurged and grabbed a pair of brand new K2 Mindbenders from Ski Pro a few years ago. I am really digging those skis. Prices here aren't too bad here. You can usually grab some good deals during their blowout sales and at their annual Avalanche Sale that they have downtown. Ski Pro started out in the 80's and has grown to be one of the biggest locally-owned action sports store in Arizona. They sell both ski and snowboard equipment and apparel. They also have a repair and rental shop at each store. Some other action sports gear that you can find is stuff for skateboarding and water sports. Majority of the guys that work here are pretty knowledgeable. I am lucky to live down the street from this Mesa location. Ski Pro has three locations in the Valley. You can buy lift passes here for Arizona Snowbowl. Desert Snow Connection has a bus that picks up and drops off out front in the mornings to take you to Flagstaff. read more

I called ahead to confirm the boots I wanted were in stock and 'new.' Despite the representative's assurance, my order was never shipped. After waiting a week, I had to call them myself, only to find out the item was oversold. It is disappointing that a business with 40 years of experience lacks a real-time inventory system. They failed to notify me as promised in their own policy, and now I'm left waiting for a refund. I emailed them letting them know and they responded the next day letting me know they were able to grant me a partial refund (since I told them I would be using it anyways on an upcoming trip). They have a good selection of items, but be wary of the staff. I asked an employee if they carried a helmet in a different size and she said no, so I asked if it was in stock at other stores- she pretended to check and said sorry sold out everywhere. I could tell she was lying and just didn't care to take the time to check. I went to a different location on the same day and voila they had that helmet in the size I wanted. Scott, thank you for the offer. However, lets play what you propose out. I bring the boots in and your guy will heat them up and play around with them, then in the store swear they will stretch some and have my feet so buckled in the toes go numb so I cant feel if they are smashed against the front or not. Only to ski them again and have the exact same problems. A 26.5 ski boot is for a size 8.5 foot. I am a size 10 foot and have always skied a 27.5 which is on the snug side. I have always been in stiff and uncomfortable racing boots, when I walked in to your store my intent was to get a boot that was comfortable and not have such a premium on performance. The only resolution from my perspective is to swap me out for a 27.5 size. You do that, I will update my review or take it down, your choice. I have no interest to see what your team will do to try to make my size 10 foot fit in a size 8.5 ski boot, but thanks again for the offer. read more

I'm writing this review for multiple reasons. For starters, today Tom helped me in the ski repair shop and he was such a sweetheart after I was a little salty about being ignored by three different employees. The girls at the counter always very kind and greet customers immediately, but every visit I'm always a little disappointed in the staff. I get very excited to go to Ski Pro all the time, and it's simply unfortunate to feel unwelcome or as an inconvenience. Anyway, point of the review. Thank you, Tom for your kindness, and helpfulness. They didn't have any rear entry boots, so they referred us to the phoenix store as they have more ski boot options as the Mesa store was relocated to a temporary location due to fire/remodeling. Spent $3,500 here on a full set up. Coulda saved $600 going somewhere else. Bought boots, told me I didn't know how a boot should fit when I grew up in Denver and have been snowboarding since I could walk. So I buy these 10.5s, don't fit, then I spend another $400 because no returns. And these don't fit right either. Honestly this place price gouges you so hard. They charge what mountains charge to buy stuff there. My tip, save your money, don't go here or the shitty overpriced outlet. Go to a Christy's sports when you get to Colorado and fly southwest and bring all your stuff back for free because this place is fucking awful. read more

Buyer beware! I bought this $100 jacket and the first time wearing it noticed damage. The jacket ripped to what you see my first day wearing it! Then I noticed poor threads and a ripped tag. Took it back (with receipt) and the manager told me he will not refund me. Too bad they sell garbage here. Expensive garbage at that! Definitely the last time I ever shop here. The store is big and the variety is acceptable, however, we couldn't find anything for either my husband or I due to the extra extra large sizes and the disorganization of the clothing. Employees however, are very nice and helpful. One employee recommended us to look at the children's department for smaller size. I'm 5'10", my husband is 6'...it's not like we are small people. But there was nothing we could find for us. Employees said that at this time of the year, since everyone is going ski, all the small and medium sizes are already gone. I had a great time picking out skis and having my boots heat molded for better fit. I live in California and originally ordered my ski boots on the ski pro site and brought them to the Mesa store to have properly fitted for best performance. I met Justin and Austin and learned so much regarding best which skis were best for me. In return I purchased some great skis and look forward to using all their tips on the mountain. Additionally, Austin exchanged an extra pair of boots I ordered by mistake a bit ago and I was very pleased how he wen't above and beyond to make me happy. Because of the amazing customer service I received from both Justin and Austin I will be back every ski season. I am writing this review because I expect some customer service when I purchase an item that lasts less than 2 weeks. I realize a product may have a flaw by chance or maybe weakened with shipping but I have been given the brush off and expected to go away! We purchased the buzz which split apart and I've been waiting for a month trying to get a answer as to whether a "warranty" will cover it! I had a great time browsing the store this weekend. I unknowingly arrived about 10 minutes before they opened, and even though I said I'd wait, they happily let me in anyway. When I explained I was on a tight budget for gear, one of the team members helped me find marked down items that were still high-quality in her opinion. She also gave me a tip that they'll be having a clearance event in early November, and I'd likely get an even better value if I just waited until then to buy my stuff. My man Jeff is the best in the business. He is the closest thing to All State because with him you are in good hands. I called in before stopping by and Jeff was able to answer all of my general questions. Told him I was going to drop by, and he was able to get me fitted and prepared for the upcoming season. When I got to the store I waited around as he ran the floor with ease helping people in the order they came in. There were others that were able to help; their knowledge just was not on the same level as Jeff. Once Jeff finished with the people ahead of me, we started with getting fitted into boots as he explained the different features and prices on the boots. After checking out thee boots we moved onto boards and bindings where he gave me plenty of options to choose from and why they would be good for someone like myself. When you think about finding your passion in life and making it your career, you think of Jeff. He has found it; you can see it with his knowledge and his experiences he illustrates in front of you. My girl and I went to get our gear tuned up, Louie in the back not only hooked us up time wise but gave us the best tune up ever! These guys are my go to when it comes to tunes ups, I am so picky about anyone working on my gear and trust them to do a great job every time! Friendly, polite, attentive and knowledgeable! Then we found a bunch of great jackets and pants but needed different sizes. The manager Austin got us all the right sizes, searched the store inventory and even called the other location to hold a jacket for us. Super friendly and helpful. No pressure sales. So when we walked up Austin (a manager) was right there to meet us and asked how he could help. Don't usually write reviews but this place is great and deserves a good one. Nothing but positive things to say. The store is massive and the selection is awesome. I always come out of the store having bought more than I expected to...yikes...but their prices are good and there always seems to be a sale on something. If you can't find what you're looking for here then I don't know what to tell ya ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ The staff and customer service is the best part about coming here. Always greeted with friendly and knowledgeable employees who love helping people out. Any issues or questions I've had they've been able to resolve. I want to start off by saying that Brandon (maybe Brendan?) who helped size me and adjust my ski bindings was SO nice and helpful, also the ladies at the front desk were very friendly and I appreciated their help as well. However, I had called 45 minutes prior to coming in, asking if they price match. I was transferred to their "web center" who I gave the product information to as well as the price we found on a different website. They said that they would honor the price match and gave me a code. Fast forward to the checking out process, the manager Austin comes to "help" and is immediately rude to me. I explained how I had spoken to someone from the store earlier and I had a code to help with the price matching, he said that he had no idea what I was talking about. I showed him the website where I found the cheaper priced boot and he said "these are not the same color" and I explained to him that I had wanted it in that color but they were out of stock so the man who had sized me gave me the same exact boot but a different color. Overall, they could not help me and told me to go to their other location where that boot was in stock. What upsets me is that I had spoken to someone at that exact store who I sorted everything out with and then I come into the store and am met with someone who is not trying to be helpful at all but rather degrading. I am very disappointed in how this manager, Austin, spoke to me in such an inappropriate and unprofessional way which is very unfortunate because the rest of the staff was very helpful and kind. Sadly, I do not think I will be returning to this location. *** I do understand you have strict policies, but I had spoken to someone at this exact location earlier that day who I gave the product code and all of the information to, I didn't just walk in the store and expect you do price matching. Also, the policies are understandable but the behavior of Austin was not, he was no accommodating and frankly just did not want to help us.
