Handed keys to an employee at Thrifty. 3 days later (was on a cruise) I checked my credit card and had pending charges totaling $574 from Thrifty, they had never closed out the contract and were applying additional $100 charges each day. I tried calling Thrifty at every number I could find for them. Their automated phone system had no options for an issue like mine and no option would allow me to reach a person, it kept instructing me to use their website form. Tried submitting their web form several times and would receive the message that there was a problem uploading the form and instructed me to call their 800 number (one of those that I had already tried several times. Called Discount Hawaii and reached Tammy in about 2 minutes. She was super nice and very sympathetic. After I explained my issue, she told me to relax and enjoy the rest of my cruise and she would handle Thrifty. 15 minutes later I received a final invoice from Thrifty and shortly after a message from Discount Hawaii apologizing about the issue I experienced along with a copy of their communication with Thrifty. I, of course, immediately called Discount Hawaii back to tell Tammy thank you. Tammy and Discount Hawaii rock! I cannot recommend them enough, although I suggest that you do not select a vehicle from Thrifty as there is no way to reach them if you have an issue.

Your service was 5/5 because I went to your website and couldn't find the van so I decided to walk up and you got me what I needed and you and your staff was super informative, patient and choices of vehicles were plenty. Thank you. Overall value is 5/5 because you run a very unique rental business!!!!!!! You allow us to park it in your lot overnight, you waved me $60.00 per night for valet at my resort. U was able to walk there within minutes to get the car or drop it off. Just the perfect way to save us some $$ I will for sure come back next trip to rent from you!! This is a must try. Side note: uber/lyft round trip for us would have costed us the same price of the rental if not more, we were able to skip the valet fees at the resort, take the tour as long as we want and just loved this setup. Also if you go to places like dole plantation via uber, your return trip might be a long wait because I didn't see a lot of uber drivers available up that way. (I could be wrong) but this rental was just the perfect setup vs the waiting game.

Price for the day is totally fair considering you get to use it all day and return it at any time. Not every rental car company allows after-hours returns, this one does. They also provide 2 car garages where you can park for free if you need to. We didn't need to, but it's a convenient perk. Otherwise you might be paying high nightly parking fees at your resort. We ended up with a clean, new Corolla and found it very comfortable. 5 stars!

All of their employees as super nice, helpful, and friendly! They all seem really happy working for this company and that is a joy to see. Justin was the employee I spoke with and he was super nice. They are located in Mapunapuna near Fisher Hawai'i. Don't blink or you'll miss the turn into their driveway! There are lots of vehicles to rent, so if you're ever in need of a rental--- visit them! We had a mishap with the key fob not working while we were at the beach on the east side of the…read moreisland. When we realized it wasn't working, we immediately opened up the fob and found old looking corrosion inside around the battery area. We put a new battery in it and left it open to dry out (if moisture had gotten in it). After troubleshooting to no avail, I called the company and they sent someone out charging a $75 "roadside assistance fee" where a representative brought out a spare key fob. Unfortunately, the replacement fob did not start the car (or even unlock/lock the car). The representative was friendly, but not knowledgeable on other troubleshooting steps to get us back on the road. With the replacement fob taken apart (to swap/replace the battery) the original fob eventually started the car. We even tested it further by turning off and on the car a few times to make sure the old fob was working again. We then drove the vehicle to our next destination, and when we went to leave the car wouldn't start again... we made the most of it and had dinner while further drying out the original fob to see if that would help. In the meantime the company sent a replacement vehicle (at no additional charge). When the rep went to start the original car, it stated right away. The following day, I received a voicemail to go over the additional replacement fob and roadside assistance charges. The voicemail said to reference the email and/or call back for questions. I never received the email after 10 minutes of checking, and then I got a large credit card notification; $350 for the damaged key and $75 for the roadside assistance. I didn't appreciate being charged without being talked to first. When I immediately called back to politely ask some clarifying questions, the person on the phone was very rude and raised his voice to me and my wife. Given that the original fob appeared to have prior water damage and the fact that it did start the car (after drying out, replacing the battery) it was disappointing to be charged $425 for something that may, or may not, have been our fault. And to then be yelled at for asking questions. At the end of the day, the whole ordeal cost us valuable vacation time, added stress, and drastically altered our plans. The car rental itself was affordable but the first car we ended up with was older and a little dingy.

We had an upgrade and got a sedan/coup upon pick up. I was able to change the drop off location, since I was staying in Waikiki; and it was more convenient to drop off near the hotel. The Gal at counter in the Airport was super nice, and the Mobile app made it a breeze to pick up the car. Returning the car was a little confusing since I did not know where the office inside the Marriott was. I was able to ask the concierge where the drop off box was since they were closed on the weekend. Overall great experience from start to finish from booking and returning the car rental.

Alamo did not have a line when I got there and I had a very pleasant time with Lexi. She and the other staff were friendly, bright, and all around a hoot to talk to and check-in with, they made the experience great. Checking-in was easy! Their screen is touchscreen so you can sign with your finger. The car: we went up the escalators and we were able to choose between a 4Runner and a Volkswagen. We chose the 4Runner for more trunk space. Car was spacious and we got out of the garage easily. The car came with a full tank of gas. I did not pump gas prior to returning the car due to lack of time and poor planning on my part. We were close to almost a half tank when I returned it. Alamo charged me $44 for the gas which I found fair. I would definitely book with Alamo again the next time I want to get a car rental in Oahu!

Upon walking into the rental car agency, the friendly clerk greeted me & processed my rental within 5 minutes. I was totally stunned at how efficient she did this, and upon having me sign a few electronic papers, she then told me to go into an elevator & head up to the "L' floor of the garage. Upon heading up to the "L" floor (or top floor of the garage), another clerk had my vehicle ready, and upon doing a quick look around the vehicle, I just jumped in, and took off. Easy peasy my friends!!! When I returned the rental today, I didn't even need to go into the Enterprise office, as the clerk who processed my eental vehicle return in the garage, did all of the closing of the tab. To top it off, the staff even gave me a ride back to the Cutter Dodge dealership! There's something to be said of great service.........that's how you keep loyal customers! Easy pick up and return. Their cars are on the lower level of Ala Moana Center. They will escort you to the car when you pick up. At drop off, park at the designated parking spots, take the keys to the office and they will check the car out while you wait in the office. Definitely using them again!

I was in and out of SIXT rental within 15 minutes from arriving! Staff were friendly, quick and efficient, not to mention accommodating! It's located upstairs in the parking garage adjacent to the airport (very convenient). The car itself was in mint condition, clean and practically smelled brand new! Plenty of legroom and luggage space. We definitely felt like we were driving in style around the island! So thankful to SIXT and their staff for kickstarting our vacation on a happy note! The "manager" Andrew, accused me of aggressing an employee by saying the word "crap". I did not say…read morethat, I was not even angry or frustrated. He came out of nowhere to tell me, aggressively, why they need to check an id that had been scanned multiple times previously. I don't understand what even happened! Because I was confused and upset about being wrongfully attacked, I asked him to clarify his accusation. He escalated by repeatedly telling me, "you can't even admit that you said it" and I said, yes, because I don't ! He would not engage with me or my husband in coming to a meaningful understanding. My husband and two teenage children both said they did not hear me say this and came to my defense. He would not admit he could have misheard. He shut me down and repeated that I was denying it and that I couldn't admit that I "cursed" at his employee. He ended with sarcastically saying, "why don't you leave and enjoy your vacation." I don't say the word crap, because it's a crap curse word. I use better, more adult curse words. If I was frustrated, the room would know. What manager is trained to escalate? This person should not be in a front facing position. I'm kinda floored that he chooses to be in customer service, because if he is starting g a fight with a not that annoyed middle aged lady, how does he handle an enraged man? I doubt he would have had this interaction with a man. I wasn't even mad, it came out of nowhere I think he must have heard my kids or another customer say something 'cause it's not what happened and my whole family was witness.
