I definitely procrastinated on renting one because I know it's expensive. My parents and they referred me to Lucky Owl because they heard my niece use them when she comes to town. So I went online and their prices were reasonable and they offer a kamaʻāina discount! I booked online and called them to confirm all the details. They really helped me out in my time of need. All of their employees as super nice, helpful, and friendly! They all seem really happy working for this company and that is a joy to see. Justin was the employee I spoke with and he was super nice. They are located in Mapunapuna near Fisher Hawai'i. Don't blink or you'll miss the turn into their driveway! There are lots of vehicles to rent, so if you're ever in need of a rental--- visit them! Oh AND They also have a Lucky Owl Lock and Key as well as Auto Sales in case you're interested. Mahalo Lucky Owl!

We had a mishap with the key fob not working while we were at the beach on the east side of the…read moreisland. When we realized it wasn't working, we immediately opened up the fob and found old looking corrosion inside around the battery area. We put a new battery in it and left it open to dry out (if moisture had gotten in it). After troubleshooting to no avail, I called the company and they sent someone out charging a $75 "roadside assistance fee" where a representative brought out a spare key fob. Unfortunately, the replacement fob did not start the car (or even unlock/lock the car). The representative was friendly, but not knowledgeable on other troubleshooting steps to get us back on the road. With the replacement fob taken apart (to swap/replace the battery) the original fob eventually started the car. We even tested it further by turning off and on the car a few times to make sure the old fob was working again. We then drove the vehicle to our next destination, and when we went to leave the car wouldn't start again... we made the most of it and had dinner while further drying out the original fob to see if that would help. In the meantime the company sent a replacement vehicle (at no additional charge). When the rep went to start the original car, it stated right away. The following day, I received a voicemail to go over the additional replacement fob and roadside assistance charges. The voicemail said to reference the email and/or call back for questions. I never received the email after 10 minutes of checking, and then I got a large credit card notification; $350 for the damaged key and $75 for the roadside assistance. I didn't appreciate being charged without being talked to first. When I immediately called back to politely ask some clarifying questions, the person on the phone was very rude and raised his voice to me and my wife. Given that the original fob appeared to have prior water damage and the fact that it did start the car (after drying out, replacing the battery) it was disappointing to be charged $425 for something that may, or may not, have been our fault. And to then be yelled at for asking questions. At the end of the day, the whole ordeal cost us valuable vacation time, added stress, and drastically altered our plans. The car rental itself was affordable but the first car we ended up with was older and a little dingy.

I remembered a good friend from grade school lived there and in fact had a tour business. I called Linda and told her about my cousin. I forgot about the time change from the west coast so my 9am call was her alarm clock that morning. Whoops. They literally wanted to travel within a week. Linda gave her her personal contact info and asked me to pass to my cousin. Linda was able to book all there activities including a deep discount at a great beachfront hotel. She also saved them a ton on their activities. She even suggested several beaches and local eateries them. They had a great vacations and had activities every day. They inquired about an activity and she informed them it would be better from a different island. So they did not waste their time or money. They were so happy and now I am the favorite cousin.

Magical Train Ride Adventure!…read more We absolutely loved our experience on the historic Hawaiian Railway -- such a unique and beautiful way to explore Oahu's west side! From start to finish it was pure aloha vibes and family fun! Prices: Standard train ride tickets were around $18 for adults and $13 for kids (ages 2-12) (kids under 2 are free!), and we felt it was worth every penny for the experience and memories! Parking & Arrival: There's plenty of free parking right at the train station, which made arriving super easy and stress-free. We got there a little early to soak in the atmosphere before departure! Hours & Tour Times: The train runs on Wednesdays, Saturdays, and Sundays with departures like 12:00 PM and 3:00 PM, plus a couple of other times depending on the day -- perfect for planning your afternoon. Length & Route: The whole ride is about 90 minutes round-trip, slowly chugging through scenic parts of Oahu's Leeward coast with beautiful views of the ocean and mountains. The narration from the guide made the ride even more interesting! Stops & Fun: One of the best parts was the ice cream stop in Ko Olina -- we all hopped off for a cool treat at a little plaza and waved to neighbors along the way! Photo Ops Everywhere: There were so many spots perfect for photos -- seaside views, cute vintage train cars, and open-air seating made for great candid shots! Plus, we barely saw anyone else there during our ride, so it felt like we had the whole adventure to ourselves. Tips: * Arrive early to grab good seats and explore the train yard * Bring a camera (or phone!) -- the scenery is AMAZING * Don't forget a little extra cash for ice cream! Overall: This was one of our favorite experiences on Oahu -- kid-friendly, super scenic, and just plain fun. We're already talking about going back again next time!

The advertised ice cream stop is just a stop at a local shopping plaza, where you're directed to buy ice cream from the ABC Store. It didn't feel like a special attraction at all. If you're expecting scenic ocean views, temper your expectations. We only caught two brief glimpses of the water. The majority of the ride passes through overgrown brush, a shopping cart graveyard, and several homeless encampments. Overall, it felt like a waste of both our time and money. Unfortunately, we wouldn't recommend it, especially for families with young children.

We stayed in Oahu for 5 days, 2 out of the 5 days we wanted a car to be able to hike and explore…read morethe North Shore. We were searching for rental places but a lot of places were about 80 a day plus extra fees for drivers under 25. I found Rain through Apple Maps as he was near by, he didn't have many reviews but the ones he did have were all 5 stars so we took a chance. This was the highlight of our trip, Rain provided customer service that was above what we could have expected. Rain charged $60 per day.He dropped the car off at our hotel, as soon as we were available. The car was a Toyata RAV4, which was an eco friendly car, this saved us so much money on gas. The car was very clean, as it still had that new car smell, windows were tinted which made me feel safe leaving my bags in the car if needed. You're able to connect to CarPlay very easily to listen to your music or have your navigation right in front of you. Return process was very easy. He does require you fill up the tank before you return the car, which is typical, refilling the tank only cost us $17 after driving all around the north shore. He offers two different options on returning the car, he can come pick up. Or you drop off and he offers a ride back to hotel. We were passing by the area to drop the car off so we went with the drop off option. If you want to support local business this is the place you need to look at! Rain was very nice and accommodating!

At first, I was a little apprehensive about using Rain's services because the process seemed almost too easy. But after using him for both a rental car and airport/hotel transfers, I couldn't have been more impressed. Rain made everything simple, efficient, and stress-free from start to finish. Communication was quick and responsive via text, and one of my priorities ---- the entire process saved me a lot of time. I highly recommend Rain for anyone looking for chauffeur services, car rentals, or reliable airport and hotel transfers on Oahu. I'll definitely be using his services again.
