Barry and his team are phenomenal!! When making the initial reservation (11pm)... he responded within 10 minutes. Personally, I thought that was pretty amazing to respond so late. Barry then arranged to drop off the vehicle at the hotel and pick it up near the airport. He was early both times (which is quasi-rare for Hawaii). The car was BETTER in person than in the images (and the images were excellent!!). My client and I couldn't believe how professional, convenient, and cost-effective the cars Barry ("Kings Fleet") were. Kings Fleets brand new BMW was cheaper than the airports car rental services (basically offering a Kia Soul, Chevy Camaro, Chevy Malibu, Ford Mustang, or even a Toyota Carrolla (at a higher price). Personally, I think Kings Fleet will eventually start putting some of the bigger rent-a-car name brands out of business in Hawaii... or at the very least force them all to start leveling up their quality of service, professionalism, and overall superior vehicle choice. From now on... we will ONLY use Kings Fleet when traveling to Hawaii... solely because of this one time experience. read more

Prepaid for a 1 day rental for a wedding event 2 weeks prior and they canceled 2 days befor the event and would not say why then offered a different vehicle with no offer of compensation so I rebooked online at the cheaper rate and then they canceled that one. They gave us a car with roaches. That's the complaint. There was a roach bait trap under the seat that we noticed after spotting several during our weekend rental. This is unprofessional and the fact we paid full price for a vehicle they KNOWINGLY knew had roaches is outrageous. 0/10 WOULD NOT RECOMMEND Earlier this year I rented a 2016 BMW M4 through Turo from Barry to use on a vacation trip with my wife. My 1st complaint, the AC wasn't working properly (which he later addressed and that was fine and I told Turo that the AC eventually fixed itself after not working initially). 2nd the interior was disgusting. I never expected the condition of the car to be "immaculate" or "garage kept" as Barry claims but at least the level of a normal rental car, not way below. The steering wheel was covered in gunk that took 3 wet wipes to clean, the color of the leather was supposed to be white but was more of a light coffee color probably due to dirt and skin oils, the center armrest leather was cracked, there was tape holding the passenger interior door handle together, and fins inside the driver air vent to direct the air were snapped off and broken. I've attached all the images for proof. After 1 hour of driving in traffic from the airport to Waikiki in hot temperatures with the AC at the time not working, I contacted Barry saying I no longer wanted to continue the trip, but he called me back and told me that he "had plans" and wouldn't be available until way later in the evening or the next morning. I was stuck with an unsatisfactory vehicle. I'd understand if this was much later in the trip but only after an hour?? I contacted Turo about the unsatisfactory service Barry was providing and they agreed to give me a full refund since the host, Barry, was unable to meet me, essentially forcing me to keep the car longer due to him being "busy" only 1 hour after I had the vehicle. (Thinking about it now it was probably just so he could squeeze some money out of me). Again attached photos for proof of me contacting him to cancel after one hour. Barry then LIES in a review about me on Turo saying I took his car around all night, if you consider going from our hotel in Waikiki to Ala Moana beach (a whole 4-5 miles round trip) "driving around all night" (I wasnt planning on letting this unfortunate circumstance ruin my vacation) plus we mostly walked from our hotel to places and avoided driving the car as much as possible. Why not post the GPS tracker info? (Speaking of which, hosts are REQUIRED to disclose that there's a tracker in the vehicle which he did not to me) He LIED saying that I didn't fill the car up when we agreed that I would drop off the car back at the airport in the morning the next day but instead he surprise called me early in the morning and rushed me saying that he will come to me and pick up the vehicle at my hotel 2 hours before the agreed time because he was dropping off someone else's rental nearby (causing me to wake up early on my vacation, not having time to get gas, and having to pay to take an Uber back to the airport since I scheduled a different rental car to be picked up from there at our original meetup time. (All for HIS convenience) Barry is a liar and shady businessman and doesn't deserve your business. It's one thing to provide bad service but to LIE and leave a dishonest review about a customer? I originally didn't leave a review on his Turo profile at the time because I was kind enough then to just leave it in the past and hoped he would do the same but what a mistake that was. I hope this review helps other renters choose a better person to work with. To the ones that had a good experience, lucky you. I normally have great experiences with Turo hosts so I was surprised with the substandard service Barry provided while having his "All-Star Host" status on Turo. Oh and his BMW M4 is no longer available to rent on Turo (I guess he realized it wasn't in acceptable condition to be renting to people). Reminder to always keep receipts and proof otherwise sleazy businessmen will try and paint you as the bad guy. read more

2016 Chev Camaro SS. First time Turo user here and what a great way to begin. Barry was super easy to deal with and very prompt with he's replies. We opted with paying for the vehicle to be delivered to our hotel, Barry's driver was good with communication and delivered it 30min early. Being a 2016 car it was in great condition, only the expected aging in a few areas which wasn't an issue. Being a 6ltr V8 it was fun to drive, a great experience. Using it as a convertible was super simple with the press of one button. Bluetooth connection was also easy. We had 4 people in our group, 2 adults in front and 2 teenages in back which was a bit tight as you'd expect. Once we returned to our hotel, Barry had he's driver pick the car up within 30min of messaging him which was great. All in all I'd have to say 5 stars, thanks Barry! read more

If you decide to rent through him only do it on Turo. DO NOT rent from him privately. Aside from skirting local regulations and fees, which would in theory save you money, you will not have the same consumer protections offered by large rental firms and through your personal insurance/credit card company. Barry is the type of native who makes a living taxing tourists. Caveat Emptor I rented on Turo and before I even drove the car off he was repping his private rental business.
