Crooks. If I could give 0 stars I would. First off, our family rented a large van for a 5 day vacation. They were very nice at first but when we returned the van he claimed that we destroyed the inside. First off, I had a gut feeling when we first got on to take pictures of the broken seatbelt hook which cut my sons leg (I have a picture) was going to let it slide & the ceiling fans didn't have the covers to guide the air and the seats were stained but never thought that they would actually attempt to pin it on us. He has now attempted to charge us and is extremely rude, definitely not okay that he is trying to take advantage. We wish we would've looked at the reviews sooner because it seems that we all have a similar story. Wouldn't doubt the good reviews being fake. Horrible experience. I actually drove there to find no indication of a business besides their business sign. I assume they had a store front at one point but it is now a church. These people are crooks. They deserve zero stars. Don't give them your credit card info. Don't do it. You'll thank me. They take your credit card info and then charge it even after you cancel your reservation in advance. They lie about their policies and steal money from their customers. Stay away from them. My advice is to rent from Hertz. Hertz is located in Waipahu and has excellent prices and customer service. They picked me up from home in Kapolei and dropped me off. I was happy to find Hertz after being scammed by these guys. I'm working with my bank to get my money back. I see another reviewer also had to do the same. Stay far away from these guys. read more

A group of us were planning a week in Oahu. So we needed something that would seat at least 14. One the guys in our group found ABC and talked to Sam. He was very nice and found us with a good vehicle at great price that met our needs perfectly. We went all over the the island(it's not very big:-)), the rear AC worked great and van was very easy to drive. We especially liked the drop off/pick up service(for small extra charge) at the airport was very convenient and saved us a ton of time. Thanks for helping make our trip Oahu enjoyable!! I'm a medical student going to school on the mainland and I came home for the summer. I preferred to use ABC auto because they are a local business, they had the best rates, and their customer service was excellent. I worked with Christine and Melvin who were very professional and helpful. I changed my plans numerous times and they were able to graciously accommodate me. They offer customer service that I have never found with larger auto rental companies. The car I used was a Kia Forte, which was an ok ride. It had a small issue with the starter, which would take a few seconds longer to fire but then would start right up. I had mentioned it to customer service and they said that they would address that. Other than that the car was clean, affordable, and comfortable. They offer pick up and drop offs in numerous areas, which I found very convenient. I hope that they can continue to keep this type of customer service in the future. Bottom line: ABC auto is a smaller local business that offers great customer service. They are not a large mainstream company but I prefer that. They will be sure to accommodate you when they can. I would recommend ABC to other people and will use them in the future. read more

I did some research on a van rental in Oahu to accommodate a group of 14. The lord was on my side that day as I found Sam at ABC Auto Center. This guy was the absolute best! He gave me a quote that outbeats the rest of the competitors by far. He was very professional, friendly and accommodating. And even gave me an option to pick the color of the van. Upon arrival, the van was already delivered at the airport ready to go byJosh who made it easy for us to find it the parking structure via text w/ pictures and location of keys. Good job Josh! It was cleaned w/ brakes & AC working like it was brand new! And upon returning the van. Same spot as instructed by Sam and Josh! This made it so convenient for us travelers. I highly recommend them! We rented a 15 passenger van from them. We travelled from Los Angeles, CA. We planned to stay in HI from 7/16/19 - 7/25/19. It was 2 families. My family of 2 adults and 2 kids (ages 3 and 5). Other family was 2 adults and 3 kids (ages 5 and 2). Initially making the reservation, I spoke with Sam. He was very friendly and nice. I informed him we are coming from LA and would need the van entire time. I also needed 3 forward facing car seats and 2 boosters, which were provided. The convenience of them having the van at the airport and we just drop it off there was nice. Here are the issues we had: 1. However, it is parked on the roof of the international parking structure. There is no easy way to get there other than trekking through parking structure and elevators and bridges. 2. The keys were just left on the floor in plain site in the van and the van was left unlocked. This seems really sketchy and unsafe to us. They could have at least put it inside the glove compartment or something. 3. The van had no cargo space for our luggage. We could not fold seats down, luggage does not fit under seats. We had to put the kids in back of the van so we can squeeze in all of our luggages in the middle. I believe we had 4 large luggages, 2 carry ons, 5 kids back packs, 2 adult back packs, and other misc. bags. This was no easy task. We should have been told about no cargo space when making the reservation. 4. The cover of one of the car seats kept coming loose every single time a child climbed in or out of it. I noticed there were straps to hook it onto the car seat but there was no place on the car seat itself to hook to. So this tells me they had the wrong cover with the wrong seat. 5. Initial inspection of the van, it was dirty inside. It had crumbs on the floor and seats. There were toothpicks as well. They even had a printout piece of paper asking for us not to eat in the van and to pick up trash to avoid attracting rodents/bugs. The AC vents were broken, not working or just missing. So we couldn't even make the air face/blow where we wanted it to. The step to go into the van was already damaged and bent up. 6. When we tried to leave the parking structure we realized we needed the parking ticket, we searched everywhere in the van for it. Nothing to be found. I called and text numerous times without any answer. After a while I finally got a hold of Sam. He was not helpful at all. All he could say was it was left under the key. Well if you leave the door unlock, things can happen. Instead of providing customer service I was given the line of "we have never had this problem. Everyone else always found the key and ticket together". So we basically went to the booth to exit and the rep charged us the day max amount $18 so we can leave. I think the only good thing about the van was it seemed to have good gas mileage. I would never rent from here again. I would inform others if they were travelling there n wanted recommendations to not go here for rentals. read more

Wanted to post 0 stars. The owners are crooks! We rented a van and received terrible customer service. The owner insisted we do not eat in the car due to roach problems. I thought he was joking..to insist people who rent cars NOT to eat in them?? He said "cars aren't for eating, restaurants are". OK? Not sure what country your from but in America we can do what we want inside a rent a car. Fast forward..got two charges on my credit card from this company and had to call credit card company to reverse the charge. There crooks plain and simple. I planned to take my family to "Rock the troops" last weekend so I thought why not ride together?? I was needing a 10 passenger vehicle. I called around just about 2 days before I needed the rental. I found ABC Auto Center on my search. I had my reservation within a few moments of speaking with someone. Fast forward to the day of pick up. I walked in and was greeted by Josh. He printed up my paperwork and we were out the door to look at my rental. I had asked for a different vehicle then the one he had the keys for ( I wanted the newer one ) and he said no problem, let's see if I have the keys for that one. We went back in, he re-printed my statement/rental agreement paper. Josh wrote down his cell number and let me know that he would be meeting me for the pickup which was on a Sunday, a day that they are normally closed. (wow! That's some awesome customer service) He gave me the keys, and had wrote down his number on my statement and instructed to me to call if I needed to change my drop off time or anything else and to fill the tank before returning. The vehicle was a brand new ford 15 passenger van. It was probably the best part of the entire day. It was clean, and the AC was delightful. Everyone rode in comfort, the kids loved it the most. I loved driving it, for an over sized vehicle, it was really easy to drive. I would definitely rent from ABC Auto Center again. They took care of me from beginning to end. (should be zero stars, but I have to pick at least one) When we first arrived at the rental company it took a long process to rent, in which they kept filling out the paperwork incorrectly. The employee was unfriendly and acted as though we were wasting their time. We got a rental car that already had many dents and scratches and a filthy inside, we told the employee and they made notes of all the issues. When we returned the car, we did a walk around. We were told everything was fine and we left. 24 hours later we were charged for issues that were already there. ABC claims these dents and scratches were not there before and they have no notes saying they were. This was the worst experience we have ever had while renting a car, and I would recommend going to any another rental company. The employees are rude, they are not reliable or professional, and they have low quality vehicles. read more

If I could give them 0 starts I would, they don't even deserve 1 star. The worst experience I've ever had with a car rental place. First when we got the van the tires were bald and there were no brakes. The car made a loud screeching noise when pressing on the brakes and the van took longer than usual to stop. When we tried to contact the owner he said no everything is fine and he can't get us a replacement van. We even had to return the van after 1 day of use because it was so unsafe, when trying to reason with the owner about the problems we were having with the van after it was picked up he was being very unprofessional on the phone and even hung up. Currently working with my credit card company to get my money back from these scam artists. Stay away from this place if you want to have a good rental experience. read more

We rented a minivan because they had great prices. You get what you pay for!! The minivan was a 2008 with over 100k miles on it. All of the seats had gross stains and the van was filthy inside. This is so unfortunate because they had great service. They were very responsive and the curbside pick-up and drop-off at the airport was awesome. We had the hardest time finding a rental van that would fit the number of people in our group. ABC was perfect. Great price, great van. However, it was the service that stood out. From the initial reservation they were in contact, nailing down flight arrival and departure times, and making sure the van was ready to go when we arrived. I think my favorite part was getting the van curbside when Mel handed me the keys, and then being driven to the airport on our last day. I didn't have to deal with the nightmare rental agencies and hassle at the airport - made it easy. Great service, great people. I'll use them again. read more

0 stars. This place deserves to be closed. This is honestly the worst rental center ever. DO NOT RENT FROM THIS COMPANY. THEY ARE CROOKS AND THE CARS ARE SO UNSAFE. We rented a 15 passenger van and I also requested an infant car seat and a toddler car seat they gave me two toddler car seats. Keep in mind I have a 2 month old baby. I called the owner and he didn't even know what the difference was. He told us to go buy a car seat. Like seriously? Since we had no choice we had to buy a car seat from Walmart. Also my dad was driving the van and he is a mechanic, we literally drove down the street and my dad said this van has no brakes at all. The van took forever to come to a complete stop. We had two children in the car, and to rent a van out that has no brakes is ridiculous. We called the owner and told him what was wrong, we said van has no brakes and the tires are bald. He said that can't be because we do inspections on the cars before we rent it out. He wouldn't even offer us a new rental. Now we paid for the rental for 2 full days which means 24hrs in one day. They called us the night before we had to return it and asked if they can pick up the van because they needed it for a new reservation. Seriously? Currently disputing this case with my credit card company cause we got scammed by these crooks. STAY AWAY! read more
