Came for brunch and it did not disappoint! The sticky bun skillet was delicious! Surprisingly not to sweet, and enough to share between 3-4 people. The star of the show was the quiche. The thick crispy cheese layer took this to a whole new level. It melts in your mouth and the cheese on top is truly to die for. The service was good, we sat in the bar area and although extremely busy, the waiter had a great spirit and was very helpful! Can't wait to come back and try one of their stache events or dinner!

Took a friend to her B day lunch treat. Neither of us have been here before, excited we found. Great service from Bonnie. Nice menu to cover lots of different food items. We both got the chicken pita one with soup other with salad. Tortilla soup was prefect for a cold day. And my friend loved her salad the grilled chicken pitas were okay chicken grilled and burnt so dry. Over all for the cost it was good. Looking forward to trying other menu items. The restaurant was warm and welcoming. Look forward to going back and trying other menu items. Since friends b day ordered Lava cake came hot with ice cream and was soooo yummy plus was given since her 75th B day

We discovered Rennys a few months ago, and it's a restaurant I look forward to eating at when I want a greet Salmon. In the menu is a salad called Maguire's, and it's definitely one worth adding to your meal. I don't know what's in the dressing, but it's delicious, and I'm addicted. The service has always been consistent. Nice, knowledgeable, and attentive staff who know how to treat their customer's. Now, let's talk about the atmosphere of this place. It's well designed with an essence of elegance, but not stuffy. Sometimes we dress up to eat, and sometimes we show up in shorts. No matter how you show up, you're treated the same. You have to appreciate that kind of restaurant!

First time here and came for restaurant week lunch. The server was very friendly and gave a brief history of the restaurant and top dishes. My starter was the mussels. The sauce was delicious I just kept dipping the bread in it to soak it up. If I didn't have a second course would have just asked for more bread to soak the rest of it up. For the main, I got the meatloaf. This is not a traditional meatloaf so don't order it if you are wanting that. However, this is still a really good meatloaf, just more Texas bbq version. The loaded mashed potatoes and crispy onions with this made me keep eating even after I was full. Saw they had a happy hour and will definitely be back to try that out at some point.

My wife had taken off work so we could have a "playday" in Dallas. We were in North Dallas to see a limited time special exhibition and had arrived early enough in order to enjoy a leisurely lunch. On the way over from Ft. Worth, I started looking through Yelp at all the choices for lunch in the area. Oh, my goodness, what to choose? What to choose? Everything sounded SO good. After reading through the reviews of the different restaurants in the area of the exhibition, I kept coming back to "Renny's." The menu looked incredible, and the reviews were solid. Of course, my fellow Yelpers didn't let us down. After finding the center where Renny's is located we got parked and headed to the restaurant. The restaurant has a great patio area set up in front of the restaurant. This fit the bill perfectly! Dining out "al fresco" on a beautiful April afternoon. The hostess got us seated and gave us menus to pursue our lunch choices. Our server, Whitney, greeted us with a big smile and took our drink orders. We ordered a couple of unsweetened iced teas. She mentioned we're going to love Renny's iced tea. It's a special blend by a Dallas tea and coffee company and wasn't pre-sweetened like many of the flavored teas are. We were excited, we both love the "craft" flavored teas. She returned shortly with our teas and asked us to take a sip. Oh, my goodness, it was phenomenal. She said the flavor was apricot chardonnay. WOW! We ordered our entrees, my wife the chicken salad sandwich with "skinny" fries and I ordered the Hot Lopez, sweet and spicy fried chicken sandwich with truffle "skinny" fries. We asked about the term "skinny." She said, nope, they're not skinny in calories, just skinny in size, like a larger shoestring potato. A bit later, Whitney showed up with a 12 ounce back of their specialty tea so we could see it. We told her to add it to our bill. We had a great time people watching and enjoying the beautiful weather. We soon discovered that Renny's was a local favorite with lots of regulars. There was a group of six tennis ladies who the hostess and the server knew all by name. A couple of other parties arrived that were greeted by name. That's the mark of a great restaurant when you have returning guests time after time. Our sandwiches were delivered to our table and all I can say is WOW. There was enough chicken on each of our sandwiches to share and still be full. My wife's chicken salad was piled mile high on her bun and my sweet and spicy fried chicken filet was sticking out on all sides. I was trying to figure out how to attack it so I could begin enjoying it. Both of our lunch entrees were fantastic. My wife, who is a chicken salad connoisseur of chicken salad. She exclaimed this was some of the best chicken salad she's had in a very long time. The skinny" fries were cooked and seasoned to perfection. My Hot Lopez sandwich was the perfect balance of sweet and hot. The coating on my chicken filet was so good. The truffle fries Whitney, checked in with us every now and then to ensure we had everything we needed, and our teas were topped off. As our plates got emptier and emptier, Whitney said I guess you didn't like the food here. We asked her about the design of the restaurant, it's a work of art and so inviting. She said the family curated every little detail to make it inviting to all who walk through the doors. We told her we'll definitely be back when we're in the north Dallas area. In fact, we have a dear friend who lives very close by. We'll have to set up a time to meet her for drinks and dinner. What an incredible time we had a Renny's, the perfect place to stop for lunch. Thank you Renny's and Whitney for a memorable visit.

My wife and I went to this bustling little place for Valentine's dinner based on a friend's recommendation. Staff was friendly and attentive without being disruptive. We both had a nice cocktail, mine being a smoked Manhatten which was well balanced and delicious. We had the mussels as an appetizer, which came in a creamy garlic white wine broth and a side of toasted baguettes. The broth was fragrant and well seasoned and the mussels cooked perfectly. As a main course I had the pork ribeye with a side of creamed corn and spinach. The pork was the perfect temperature and very juicy. It was a littlenon the salty side, which I sont mind, but forgot hers it may be too much. The spinach was slightly wilted but still had some bite and seasoned with garlic. Delicious. The creamed corn was good as well. My wife liked her trout armandine and finished with an excellent, gooey lava cake. It was a very enjoyable dinner.

We have now been to Renny's several times. It is our go to for special occasions. The ambiance of the place lends it self to special occasions. Consequently because we now frequent the place, we have developed a few favorites! Hands down, the Maple Glazed Salmon is some of the best you will ever have. Another insider tip...always start your meal with the Maguire's Salad, it's a great meal starter full of roasted pecans, blue cheese, Granny Smith apples, and more! It's also big enough to share! Desserts here are worth it too! The Red Wine Poached Pear with Ice Cream is amazeballs!

My friend and I were looking for a Brunch spot on Yelp and ran across Renny's. I feel like they are a hidden gem among the other businesses because they were not real busy. They share a parking lot with other businesses so it may be a little challenging to find parking depending on when you stop by. I appreciate that they have outdoor seating but we chose to eat inside. We were greeted immediately and seated quickly. Our waiter Lalo was everything! He was patient as we decided what we wanted since it was our first time there, he shared recommendations on the menu and was just pleasant and provided great customer service throughout our meal. The restaurant serves brunch, lunch, and dinner. For brunch my friend and I shared their mimosa deal. We got a bottle of bubbly, two juices; we chose cranberry and guava, and fresh fruit that made the experience "fancy". For our meals; my friend got eggs Benedict, her godson got biscuits and gravy, and I tried something exotic Shakshuka. My meal was really good, the bread complimented the tomato sauce, egg, and goat cheese. My only critique is the sauce could have been spicer. Overall I had a great time at Renny's, the provide an elevated brunch and it's not too pricey. I would definitely come back.

We recently moved back to the Dallas area after living in St Louis. We're celebrating our anniversary of 36 years and wanted to have a nice lunch. We found Renny's on Yelp and the reviews and pics were good so we decided to try it. We were not disappointed! Our server, Mark was outstanding. He was attentive but not in your face and gave helpful advice on menu options. We started with the PEI mussels for our appetizer. So tasty!! I could have drank the leftover broth it was so flavorful but I restrained myself. My husband ordered the daily special: a pork ribeye with mashed potatoes and green beans. It exceeded his expectations! I had the Thai beef salad. It was a perfect balance of savory, sweet and refreshing on a hot summer day. We managed to find room for the passion fruit ice cream pie. It was a perfect ending to a delicious meal! We will definitely being coming back!

This is everything they said it was. Great daily specials, I went with Texas (king casserole) lasagna, will do ribeye next probably apricot tea is awesome and the huge piece of passion fruit pie was delicious It's clean and comfy like a high end whiskey joint and a fine fat cigar. Well done.

What a wonderful place! Mark M. is so talented. This restaurant pays homage to his dad Renny! And everything is so thoughtfully curated. His daughter designed the space and she is amazing! Everything is so beautiful and well thought through. The speakeasy, The Stache (like a moustache haha), is absolutely beautiful and divine. From the cozy yet classy seatings, to the bar area. You come in and have to guess the password on the board with the key card. Highly recommend booking a reservation through rezy. Make sure you look for the Stash instead of the restaurant if you want to go to the speakeasy. Open Wednesday to Saturday 6pm to midnight. The food is delicious! My boyfriend could not stop slurping up the pasta from the coconut curry redfish. It was delicious and so well balanced! It comes with a nice, beautiful piece of redfish that is charred perfectly. You have a slice of lime to add a refreshing twist. The biscuits and gravy for brunch is also great! The egg yolks were runny and so glossy! I can't get over how good everything is and look forward to coming back. The lychee lovebomb is as delicious as it looks. It's made with tiro's vodka, coconut cream, lychee lemon juice and topped with a heavy hand of ube foam. It plays with all the senses! Smells amazing and taste like paradise! Thanks Mark for the tour and being so gracious! We can't wait to come back! Absolutely amazing!

Food was outstanding. Service was top notch. Ambiance was so so. Location was underwhelming. (Lower Level of a Double Decker Strip Center). Overall I'd give it a 3.75 due to the location.

Thanks to the reservation, we were seated right away and immediately greeted by our server, who was honestly amazing from start to finish. She was friendly, attentive, and made the whole experience feel effortless. We kicked things off with drinks. I started with an espresso martini, and it was really, really good--smooth, balanced, and exactly what I was hoping for. For my second drink, I tried the smoked Old Fashioned from their holiday menu. It was good, but I'll be honest, it was extremely strong. Like, really strong. In general, their drinks definitely pack a punch, so that's something to keep in mind when ordering. For my entrée, I ordered the Mediterranean smoked chicken salad, and wow. It was hands down one of the best salads I've ever had in my life. Everything was perfectly balanced, flavorful, and satisfying, and it didn't feel like a "boring" salad at all. It was so good that I already know I'll be coming back specifically for that dish, though I'm also curious to try more of the menu next time. Overall, this place absolutely lived up to the recommendation. Great service, strong drinks, and standout food. I'll definitely be back.

The layout feels open and comfortable, and the overall vibe is upbeat without being overwhelming. That said, service on arrival could use some attention. There was a noticeable gap at the host stand with several guests waiting and no staff in sight, which set a slightly off first impression. Once seated, though, the experience improved. Ally at the bar stood out right away. Friendly, attentive, and welcoming, she helped turn the visit around and made the experience feel more personal. She did come back to check in later, which was appreciated and helped round out the service. On the food and drink side, they carry Manhattan Project Beer Company's Half-Life, which is a big win and pairs exceptionally well with the French dip. The sandwich itself is flavorful and satisfying. The fries were a bit on the softer side, so if you prefer them crispy, I'd definitely recommend asking for them extra crispy when ordering. Overall, Thirsty Lion has a lot going for it. Great atmosphere, solid menu, and standout staff like Ally. With a little more consistency at the front of house, this place easily moves from good to great.

Beautiful sunshine pours through big windows, there's a lovely park right outside, and the light is so good it feels like the café equivalent of a good hair day. Dallas weather helps, obviously--but this place knows how to use it. The space is lively without being chaotic. Plenty of outdoor seating, lots of indoor seating, and a very reasonable three-hour Wi-Fi window that keeps people working instead of camping. It feels intentional. People come here to stay, not hover in line. Speaking of which--there's never a line. They're clearly well staffed, everyone's efficient, and everyone is genuinely nice. Now, pastries. This is where they shine. A lot of unique options you don't see everywhere, and everything I tried was excellent. The almond croissant? Fantastic. The blueberry cake? A must-get. I went two days in a row (because obviously), and on day one they told me it was their most popular item. Day two, by 11 a.m., it was completely gone and kept selling out as soon as they tried to restock. That alone tells you what you need to know. The matcha is good--made from scratch, which I appreciate. Is it the best matcha I've ever had? No. It's better than Local Johnny's, but not quite on the level of Marin Coffee Roasters or Ralph & Rose. Still very drinkable and enjoyable, especially if you're settling in to work. What really sets this place apart is its personality. It doesn't feel like a cookie-cutter café or "insert minimalist coffee brand here." There's charm. Character. A little whiteboard with a joke about New Year's resolutions that made me smile. Small details, but they matter. Would I come back? Absolutely. I already did--twice. I'd recommend it especially for locals looking for a solid work spot, co-working with a friend, or anyone who wants to be productive without being bothered. If you're visiting Dallas briefly, this might not be a destination café--but if you're here for a bit and want a reliable, pleasant, sunny place to work and snack, this one's a yes.

We got the sweet & spicy pepperoni pizza, wagyu meatball sub, and the tortellini. Everything was great, we were really impressed with it all. We also tried two of their craft cocktails. Highlights for food: The pizza and bread were delicious. 4 for flavor and texture. I would've loved to have the tortufo, which I tried to order, but the waiter told me they were out of truffles. I asked if we could just get everything else in it and he said "no"? We ordered the wild mushroom instead and while I didn't taste the thyme or pesto, it was still really good. Arugula salad: I think it's $14 or close, so I expected a decent size. It wasn't, and it had one piece of fennel. One. Disappointing. Flavor was good, lemony and fresh. Service: Ordered a cocktail when we sat down. It didn't come for a while. We asked about it, kind of had to remind the server, and it finally arrived with our appetizer, mussels, but I wouldn't have paired the cocktail with mussels so kinda meh. The mussels, however, were really good. They'd get a 5. So overall the food was good, and I'd be curious to try some other things, but it's all a part of the experience and that overall was so-so.
