This review is similar to my recent Yelp elite experience. I ordered some amazing wings that weren't a part of the original experience. The weather forecast was weird. It first started with rain all day. RendezBrews had mentioned in a message that there are plenty of umbrellas to seek shelter, if need be. It was also cooler than it has been temperature-wise, so my wearing layers of clothing felt odd. The only thing that needs to improve would be communication in messages. I got my ticket through e-mail. It said to print it out. I don't have a printer with ink! I looked at the ticket and it had a barcode. It's fine having it scanned from a phone. The print-it-out message was confusing. The other was another e-mail indicating that we likely got a second set of tickets. What? I never did. I actually contacted RendezBrews and got a quick answer. My ticket was still good and that I would get my tokens there. The second set of tickets would have also included token vouchers. My drive downtown was uneventful, but smooth, despite the construction along Richmond. I parked at the parking lot built into Scotiabank Theatre. It offered weeknight parking at a flat rate of $10, which isn't bad at all. I walked over to the RendezBrews entrance, which is on John Street. The exit is across from the parking lot. Highly convenient! I lined up to get in. I was thinking that I'd have to show my vaccination confirmation with the recent change in Ontario. It didn't happen. The place was more concerned about whether I was of legal drinking age. I showed my ID, got a wristband and five drink tokens, and went in. Most drinks were two tokens. I got two drinks and ended up with a souvenir token. I first hit Broadhead Brewery, which hails from Orleans. The blueberry blonde beer caught my attention. I had to have it. So good. I love beer with fruity notes. I decided to try Nude, a low-carb, no sugar vodka soda. It was next to Broadhead. I got the raspberry lemon (I'm not kidding about loving fruity drinks). I enjoyed it. No sugar rush. Yum! It occurred to me that I should munch on something before the alcohol hits me like a ton of bricks. I found Sol, which offered food by Chef Nuit from The Fifty. The mango salad was intriguing, but seeing the tom yum wings on the menu made me go for them. I paid with a credit card. The man behind the counter was great and said that they would take ten minutes. Cool! Sure enough, ten minutes later, my wings were ready. Yay! These wings were special. They were sous-vide (sous-vided sounds weird) and fried. They then get tossed in tom yum sauce, and topped with lime leaves, serrano chili, and tom yum oil. The wings came with sour cream. They were delicious! So much flavour and a bit of a spice kick. All tables were taken. I did manage to find a small table without any seats to chow down. There are washrooms. They are not wheelchair-accessible. You go downstairs in The Fifth Social Club. The women's washroom was clean, but each stall was tiny. There were two women commenting on the washrooms. They made me laugh so hard: - "The stall is so small that I can't do what I need to do." - "It's smaller than an airplane washroom." - "They are meant for children!" - "Even the sinks are small." I concur. I was fortunate that I fit because I have long legs. Super tight in the stall. Thank goodness there was a hook for my purse and the door swung away from me when I left. I got more real estate that way. The rain did decide to take a break. When I was lining up, it was spitting rain. Otherwise, my experience was a dry one, except for the beer that I was consuming. I'm so glad that I got to attend. I enjoyed my drinks and food, with a lovely backdrop of the CN Tower and great building artwork. (377)

Gord and I had supper yesterday on the patio of RendezViews, which is a collaboration of The Fifth and The Ballroom. This the second year for it and it's set up in the parking lot between the two restaurants on Richmond Street, just east of John Street. Gabby was friendly and chatty and good care of us.There are two sides and we sat on the Ballroom side ... each side/restaurant has their own menu. Gord ordered Fish & Chips.  He said it was good and he'd get it again. Gabby was our server and I ordered her favourite ... a hot chicken sandwich.  I didn't get it tossed in sauce and Gabby suggested a split French fries and house made potato chips.  Good choice and I'd get it again. Gabby was friendly and chatty and good care of us.

Stay safe stay outdoors and enjoy delicious food. You can social distance here and order food from Pai and SOS and have it deliver. Pai is amazing and the new SOS is really great. The prices are more than fair at these two locations. You can order from the Rendezviews menu but it doesn't compare to Pai and SOS. The service is great and perfect for watching the game and having late night hangout with friends. FYI: I'm not sure if it's the policy but once we were told we each have to buy a token. Come early for the raptors game to get a good seat. Food: 4.8/5.0 Service: 4.3/5.0 Ambiance: 4.8/5.0 Value: 4.2/5.0 Overall: 4.7/5.0

The drinks were very well done and unique in flavor as well, in particular I tried to the midnight show which was like a raspberry espresso martini. It was fantastic. The ambiance of the place is spectacular as well with a cool, library naturally, vibe. The servers were also great and helped accommodate my date who is gluten free, and her baguette replacement was the best that she'd ever had of a gluten free option. All in all top tier experience start to finish.

It hosted royalty, heads of state, and golden-age Hollywood legends like Cary Grant and Alfred Hitchcock when they were in town filming or staying upstairs in the hotel. Stepping inside is like time-traveling back decades, with velvet seating, brass accents, and dark, moody lighting. As soon as you walk into the Library Bar, the real centerpiece that grabs your attention is the massive oil portrait above the fireplace. That dignified gentleman watching you sip your drink is George Locke, the very first chief librarian of the Toronto Public Library. I love that a librarian is the patron saint of this bar! The drinks here aren't just cocktails; they're chapters in a story. The current menu, titled "Ink & Alchemy," is actually inspired by Michael Ondaatje's famous novel In the Skin of a Lion. Created by their award-winning mixologist James Grant, the menu is a tribute to the people who built this city: the immigrants, bridge-builders, thieves, and dreamers. You aren't just sipping a martini; you're drinking a liquid homage to Toronto's history.

But it was the food that blew us away I started with the Wagyu carpaccio that emma's to die for. Just perfect with the crostinis. The my wife had the avocado bowl with salmon and I had the mushroom striploin. Both meals just freaking delicious- these folks have it down to a science and the food was off the charts. Ambiance: Stunning from the moment you walk in. Despite the soaring ceilings and two-level layout, the space still feels intimate thanks to the dim, romantic lighting. We loved being seated beside each other rather than across from one another, an option I appreciated compared to the large half-moon booths in the centre of the room. Tables line the perimeter and upper level, while small trees with twinkling lights frame the booths, adding a whimsical, almost magical touch. A window displaying the cuts of steak was a fun and enticing detail. Appetizers & Mains: Every bite impressed. The seafood atop each piece of nigiri was incredibly fresh and buttery, literally melting in your mouth. The lobster mashed potatoes were an indulgent and unforgettable accompaniment to the perfectly tender steaks, which were thoughtfully presented tableside before cooking. Dessert: We saved room (and I'm so glad we did!) My cheesecake arrived beautifully plated with a candle and birthday message, while my boyfriend enjoyed the butter cake. Both were absolutely delicious and the perfect ending to the meal. Service: Every team member we encountered went above and beyond to make the evening feel special, but a heartfelt shout-out goes to our charming server, Vig. He was attentive, warm, and genuinely invested in ensuring each moment felt intentional and unique. He also shared enticing reasons to return for lunch, happy hour, and weekend brunch (options we had no idea the restaurant offered). Thoughtful Touches: From coat check, a welcome birthday cocktail, a personalized birthday card from the staff, to complimentary bubbly with dessert, every detail was thoughtfully considered. Both of us work in the area and will absolutely be spreading the word with our teams. I left feeling like a very lucky lady after such a memorable birthday celebration. We can't wait to return!

On a Valentine's Day brunch visit, the atmosphere alone was enough to justify the reservation. The kitchen demonstrates genuine competence: dishes arrive with care, the pacing is unhurried, and the mise en scène -- from tableside presentation to that now-famous thirteen-layer chocolate cake -- reveals an establishment that understands the theatre of fine dining. That towering slice of chocolate cake, in particular, is a masterstroke of marketing and pastry craft in equal measure; it draws the eye, earns its reputation, and very nearly steals the show. Where LOUIX LOUIS gives one pause is in the cuisine's ability to fully match its surroundings. The cooking is accomplished and reliably pleasant, yet seldom rises to the level of genuine distinction one might hope for at this price point. Dishes satisfy without surprising; technique is evident but inspiration, at moments, feels held in reserve. For the corporate traveller or the visitor seeking a polished, geographically convenient showcase of the city's skyline, this represents an entirely sound choice. For those seeking an experience whose flavours linger as long as the view, the kitchen has room yet to grow into its magnificent stage. Service is attentive and well-intentioned, though it can occasionally want for the depth of knowledge that elevates a good meal into a memorable one. LOUIX LOUIS is, in sum, a very good restaurant striving -- not quite yet arriving -- at greatness. The bones are exceptional; one hopes the culinary vision will, in time, catch up with them.
