I've been here a couple times but that was a while ago, it's my first time being back in about 3 years and I was verydissaapointed. I think they have changed from being a good restaurant and bar to being just a good bar. The place feels a lot smaller when it's packed, the experience was a bit uncomfortable the seats by the bar are not ideal as there's no coat hooks anywhere and the seats don't have a back to put your jacket on there's also no purse hook so your forced to put your bag on the floor or use the little table space you have. The music is very loud and it was old turned down later on. The service was rather slow we were given menus and ordered drinks then had to wait again and we were not checked on for a while once we ordered apps it became a waiting game again. They were busy but however staff were socializing and I find this slowed things down. The food was not as good as I've had previously and they got my order wrong. I wanted the chrizo with rigatoni, the waiter clearly the chicken I pre cooked . The oerogies were good but a bit bland overall . They are dog friendly in the patio and we're happy to provide water for our dog. Staff were very friendly and good with the service. Food: We had one of the best loaded nachos and pasta here. This was the first bar I went to in Toronto when I first came here in 2016. I'm glad there was no line to wait in last night like there was that first time here six years ago. It was just how I remembered it - solid drinks and inexpensive food. Service especially for food delivery could be a little slow at times but since I was in good company, I very rarely noticed it. Literally sitting at the table while I'm writing this: the service here is terrible and the food is mediocre at best. My water glass had lipstick on it from the last person who used it, and when I asked for a new glass I never got one. We had to ask the bartender for fresh waters. I was a little wary of this place, as the low prices always attract a long lineup up the sidewalk, and the music is always booming out onto the streets. We were able to try out this place in some relative peace and quiet on a rainy weekday night. There was no lineup due to the rain. The music was still waaaay too loud and would have given me a headache, so we found a quieter area outside on the patio under a large umbrella to avoid the noise. With two of the deterrents avoided, we could now focus on the food. The menu prices are really good. Everything hovers around $7 for a dish, which is unthinkable in this day and age for a meal. I had the 1lb of salt and pepper wings and stole some fries from my partner's burger plate. The salt and pepper wings were deep fried to a crisp but stayed juicy inside. Good balance of salt to pepper ratio. It came with a choice of dip which I bypassed. Fries were also good, crispy and thin. I feel like we got the best of the possible experiences. I really enjoyed it especially since it had a corona in it. I believe one is 11 and making it a double is 13. I had two & they definitely did the job LOL! Then I had fingers & fries it was a decent amount of food for only 5.95 & they were pretty good too. I also had the quesadilla it was okay. My bf on the other had had the baja tacos and those were amazing, I would recommend those for sure, I just wish they had more fish in them but again for 5.95 they were great. I came here last night for a quick meal before an event. Everything on the food menu is under $6 which is great, but definitely not the best food. For the price, the quality and amount of food is not great. I can easily go somewhere else and pay $2-5 more an item and get much better food (& have a better overall time). The service is horrible. The person who seated us was rude and made it seem like we inconvenienced him for having him seat us. The waitress was nicer, but did not check on us or our food which took 45 MINUTES to come out (we ordered 3 dishes...). I know the appearance doesn't affect how a restaurant is, but the waitress wore short shorts, a tiny tank top which her chest was almost falling out of. Honestly, I get the food is cheap and they feel the need the dress more provocatively to get better tips, but I don't think that's an appropriate way to dress when serving food to customers. I've been to warehouse in Montreal before, but the menu and interior atmosphere is the exact same everywhere. I have to give credit to the owners for staying so consistently on brand. The biggest draw is the $6 everything food menu. The idea is that some items are much more worth it than others, and that's how profit margins can get balanced out (along with drinks). We had the veggie burger + onion rings (best by far), goat cheese and beet salad (much smaller and with fewer toppings than previous visits), mac and cheese (would not get again), and fish tacos (very small, tastes decent but would not get again). For the price and ability to try so many different items, this place is definitely worth it. I was disappointed in how much smaller the salad was this time, but the burgers are at least very worth getting. Interior is loud and dark, but servers are very friendly. Warehouse never misses! This is one of my most visited places to eat on Queen Street West and I have no complaints! Portion sizes are great for the price ($5.95 all food), view of the CN Tower is amazing on the patio, and the servers are always kind and enthusiastic. I remember the lines used to be huge on busy days but when I visited yesterday we walked right in and got a spot on the patio. It is first come first served so that could be a downside, as well as only cash and credit but depends on the person. It's also a short walk from the Eaton Centre, 7 minutes down Queen Street so if you're looking for a quick bite before or after a shopping trip this is a great choice. I am a big fan of their coronarita cocktails, the drink prices are pretty good compared to other patios and delicious. My friend and I ordered the calamari plate with cucumber + pita to start, I ordered the veggie burger with salad on the side and my friend ordered the sun-dried tomato penne pasta. As you can see the portion sizes are great- a burger with a side (choice of soup, salad, or french fries) for $5.95 is the best you can get on a patio downtown in my books. Going downtown can be such a strain on your wallet, so this definitely makes for a good alternative! All the food is $5.95, and you can do add-ons for $1-2 like adding more meat or bread to it. The drinks are also really good! My friend got the captain crunch shot ($4.95) and I got the rum lemonade($6.95). Both were amazing! Drinks weren't watered down at all which is always a good sign! My first impression as I walked into the restaurant: WOW this place must be good! It's so packed with people and there's always a line up! At $5.95 for all food items, I can see why it's always so busy. On a Wednesday night, I walked by the place and line was outside the door. I came back with a few friends Thursday around 430pm for some drinks and munchies, and luckily there was no wait but we got the last big table for 6. Immediately after seating, there was a line up out the door. Food: mediocre. I ordered their crispy chicken sandwich with a side of fries (I thought it was such a good deal because you also get the option of salad, fries or soup). But after the first bite, the chicken was so soooo dry and the breading seemed to be over cooked and hard to bite. My teeth were sore from eating the sandwich. I told our server that the meal was very dry and it needed more sauce, and I wasn't aware of what sauce came on it. It tasted like chipotle mayo or something similar so I requested it for my sandwich. Little did I know, it's an extra $1 to add sauce on it to make the meal less dry and more flavourful to eat. I asked the server about the extra charge because I thought since they barely added any sauce, adding more would be complimentary. Her response: "yeah, everything extra is at extra cost". Just the way she responded was very rude and she acted like we should have known. We also ordered their nachos which was alright, I enjoyed it more than my chicken sandwich. But it was definitely basic and lacking the cheese. I've also tried their: - calamari: very soggy to taste. It seemed like either it wasn't cooked long enough or it was sitting and reheated to serve?? - BBQ chicken pizza: tasted ok, but tasted like store bought pizza. - maple bacon potato skins: I totally thought these would come out like chips but it was more like a mini loaded baked potato. It didn't taste the greatest and was a tad dry, but it wasn't awful. - chili corn queso dip: I tried a bite from my friend who ordered this and it tasted quite good surprisingly! I noticed the servers here gave off a bad attitude and were extremely slow. We had to catch their attention to order food after waiting for quite some time. We also had to request for water refills and even asked for our bills 3-4 times before receiving it. Atmosphere: good music but wayyyyy too loud! Food/Drinks - 4/5 (considering price & portion) True, the El Furniture franchise is known for their cheap foods and pricey drinks. That being said, I would have expected their food to be at least comparable to their competitors. We ordered two of their brunch specials - the Breaky Burrito, and the Chorizo Hash. While both were decent in all fairness, and nothing was wrong with them per se, they were also a little underwhelming for food that was served after 40 minutes of wait. The drinks were a Hit or Miss. While the Caesar was delicious, the Brass Monkey (cocktail of beer and OJ,) was flat, watered down, and overall unimpressive. As mentioned before, the El Furniture franchise is known for their pricey drinks making up for the cheap foods. However, if the drinks are to command a certain price, they should be held to a certain standard. Service - 2/5 Our experience with the service was not the best. Perhaps because the Service Charge was already included in by default, we found the waitress to be quite inattentive, as the wait time for each request was too long for us to appreciate. Interestingly, the staff who brought us the food (which was not our waitress,) was more attentive and willing to help. He was able to provide us more service and information in a timely manner than our own waitress. Came here on a busy Saturday afternoon and there was already a mini line-up. We waited about 15 mins before someone from the restaurant came out to check on the number of parties. As we didn't mind where to be seated, we got bumped up to the line. We ordered drinks and food. We waited and waited and waited, almost 15-20 mins after still no food arrived. Now, we understand that it was a busy Sat afternoon, but it became a concern if people got seated after us had their food before us. We did not order something crazy as it was only potato skin, the Union Street Noodle Salad, and a beef soft taco. The food were mediocre. The noodle salad consisted of egg noodles, with Spring Mixed greens on top and some chicken bits. The dressing was SALTY! It was supposed to be tamarind- soy sauce dressing, but all I could taste was soy sauce. I tried to eat the noodles together with the veggie and chicken, hoping that it would help with the saltiness but unfortunately the chicken bits were also salty and very overcooked. When we asked for the bill, that was not pleasant. We were told to give her 2 mins to clear out nearby tables and she would bring our bill, but that 2 mins turned to another 10-15 mins. We saw our waitress dancing and chit chatting with others near a computer. When our bill was finally here, she rounded up the changes without asking as I was paying cash. Came on a rainy Monday evening and there was no line-ups! I ordered the Quinoa Green Apple Salad. For only $5.95, it was filling, had loads of avocado and quinoa, nice corn salsa on the side, fresh greens...and I would've loved it if it wasn't for the fact that it was dressed with the SALTIEST soy sauce that created a LARGE puddle in the bowl that soaked everything!! After taking the first few bites, I couldn't stomach it and my lips shrivelled from the saltiness! I informed the server and he was a gem for handling it professionally and got me a new salad pronto. The replacement salad no longer had the puddle of soy sauce, but the quinoa was still marinated in the same soy sauce, therefore it was still very salty. There's no other place on queen west I've being too so far that has this high of a bang-for-your-buck value. The honey garlic wings was substantial considering it's only five dollars! The poutine had a decent portion of bacon and cheese curds, and fries were not too salty. At 4.95 per dish, you get what you pay for - and probably more. The portions are pretty filling (one friend ordered 3 and was stuffed afterward) and the menu has a good range of items. Another server had come out to the patio and I asked if she was our server and her we didn't want her. At that point we were turned off and then decided we not eating here and left. To be honest she looked just as dirty as the glasses. Her whole attire with her oversized black and white sport jacket, face, and demeanour/attitude looked dirty like the glasses!! she didn't even hide her snarky attitude. It's a rare sight when I don't see a line outside of Warehouse for lunch or dinner. It's a great atmosphere for carefree drinks with friends. Food can't be beat for the price! Your typical pub food. Tacos were delicious, as were the chicken fingers and fries. My friends had the perogies which they thoroughly enjoyed, and the burgers I heard were great too. Service was quick and the waiter and waitresses were really nice and had great recommendations for drinks. Wow! Come to this place at the wrong time and you will be waiting on the sidewalk. Friday at 5pm would be one of those times. The line was 50 people deep. Why? Because all food is $5.95. Given Toronto's weird blue laws about discounting liquor prices (i.e. they can't really) the enticement has to be discounted food. Queen St. Warehouse and it's partner The Dime have done away with pretense. All the food, all the meals, all the apps are $5.95. And the cocktails are surprisingly well-priced, too.
