Moxie is a great place to grab a happy hour drinks and bites after work. It's located really close to Union station and makes it easy for commuters to go home. After work, it gets really busy so reservations are good especially if you are dining with a couple of people. Service is good and relatively fast. We went to this restaurant to celebrate my mother's birthday. We made a reservation one day in advance, and were able to find a spot easily. We ordered the nachos, chili, chicken, and the fries for our appetizers. We were five of us and each got a drink each the appetizers and the drinks were delicious. We were all already stuffed by the appetizers, but decided to get vegetarian laksa curry, the mango chicken main and a chicken pasta to share. The dishes were really tasty and we enjoyed everything. The servers were kind enough to bring a dessert out at the end to celebrate my mother's birthday. Had a horrible experience this past weekend at moxies. Server was made very aware of my celiac and how sensitive I was. However when I ordered the cheese burger no bun no one told me I cannot have the burger sauce. Luckily I inquired with kitchen about use of Worcestershire and of course it was in there so cook left it out. Second I had a side Caesar salad also (gc) no croutons.... That evening I was very I'll into the morning. After further investigation I found out there frozen Patties contain gluten and their Caesar salad also has worchestershire in the dressing. I have reached out to restaurant no response. please don't waste your time putting things down as gluten conscious/ gluten friendly when there is no effort to teach staff And putting it on the menu when not fully knowledgeable is misleading to customers read more

Part of The Cactus Club, Joey, Earls restaurant chain, I would best describe Moxies at the lower tier of the group however the ambience and design of this Moxie was really nice and similar to an Earls. We came here later in the night for their happy hour and the $6 classic margarita was a steal and a big big hit. We got truffle Parm fries and shrimp tacos - both really good. The fries served were too crispy and salty. Waitress took it back and gave me a new order. Better but still too salty, although I asked no salt! Ordered Sirloin steak medium rare, came out Medium. Waitress took it back and gave us a new steak medium rare this time. The Manager came to our table and asked if we wanted a new steak. We got a new steak the way we ordered it, medium rare, but the feeling we got was the Manager really didn't want to give us a new steak if we didn't insist. For $36 a steak, I think we deserve to get what we ordered! If this happened in Keg, the Manager will apologize and gladly make it right. So why not do it with a smile and make the paying customer feel good? Turn a bad experience into a good experience. Would i go back? Very relaxed vibes. Has that fancy yet casual element to it. The service is mediocre, not very attentive. Complimentary guac was very good but didn't come with enough chips. The shrimp tacos were good as well, but they do have quite a kick to them. If you're like me and can't handle the heat, I would suggest ordering something else. Took the family to Moxies this week and I'm starting to wonder if we accidentally wandered onto the set of a feel-good family movie. The service? Flawless. The food? Chef's kiss. Honestly, I try to avoid chain restaurants but was invited out to a team lunch so off I go. I have to admit, the service was amazing. Server was on top of her game. There were 7 of us and no one felt ignored or forgotten. Drinks came pronto with just enough time to relax and enjoy them then the food came. Ordered the roast tomatoes with whipped feta. Was good but I think the tomatoes should have been roasted a bit more. They were too hard and if not for the feta would have rolled off the bread. I ordered the tuna poke bowl. Great selection of veggies but the tuna was chopped so small, kinda got lost in the mix. Also, not enough of the mayo or dressing. For that price a nice couple of slices of raw tuna would have been fantastic. Guys all got burgers and fries. They said they were great! Glad I went but not sure I'll ever return. read more

I always love going to this moxie's! I have tried different drinks/food everytime I am here. they have never disappointed me in terms of flavour/quality and what not. Also the the customer service is great! seems like the people that work here are always on the look out if the customers needs anything other than ordered. I am going to start with their desserts - the sticky toffee pudding is out of the world.. also i dont think i have seen that size of the bread anywhere for a dessert.. easily 3 people can manage hogging onto it. and for mains I love their thai red curry and also miso ramen.. always my go-to. smashed guac is the best with fresh salsa on the side - and the presentation is probably the highlight for this menu item. bruschetta is not bad, but definitely not ordering while sitting outside in their patio - as the bread gets quite cold quickly. coming to drinks, love their mango margarita, frozen rose is no less.. oh and regular margarita as well - overall its a great experience, been here atleast 6-7 times! always like the atmosphere read more

Located in a prime lunchtime location, expect slightly cramped seating during peak hours, but still only moderately busy so you don't need to make reservations. I got the tuna dip and soup of the day (chicken and wild rice). Their tuna dip was very good. I'm a sucker for raw fish, so this one really hit the spot for me. The crisp seaweed and chips were really nice to go with it! My one complaint is that these crisp seaweed and chips were far to salty. You may not feel that the salt is too intense at first, but it really starts building up. Perhaps it's best left as a shareable item, instead of eating the whole thing like me. The chicken and wild rice soup was nice. Still a little heavy on the salt, in my opinion, although that could just be me. It's nothing out of the ordinary--but I like soup. read more

Had the miso ramen and was disappointed, but my baseline comparison was those at real Japanese ramen houses. Moxie's ramen lacked the proper texture, wasn't al dente, the soup was luke warm, too salty, and the egg was a touch over cooked. Otherwise, the wooden chopsticks, spoon and serviette was on the mark. Not withstanding this slight disappointment, the serving staff and management are great. Their other food we had this evening was good, as expected and consistent with all our other visits. Perhaps, I'll give the ramen a try one more time, but I'll see if the server can convince the chef to reduce the salt, heat up the soup and make the noodles more al dente. read more

After 6 years I finally tried this restaurant again! The location is perfect in Univeristy avenue and many public parkings are available. The Salmon came in a perfect packaging and it was not cold. The lemon & rice were really fresh and appetizing. The sauce was perfectly seasoned. However, the Salmon itself needed a little more seasoning and needed to be crispier. They have an outdoor patio in the downtown financial district of Toronto. Usually, I would have avoided a chain restaurant, but our team needed a place for lunch and weather was good, no reason not to try it out. Let's just say, I wasn't impressed by either the service or the food. Got there just shy of 12pm on a Friday, just to avoid the lunch rush. Restaurant was still pretty quiet yet there was no one to welcome us for a good 5 minutes. Stood at the waiting area with no one acknowledging our presence. We wanted a patio but was given an indoor dining area due to our group size of 8. I had the Cashew Chicken Lettuce Wrap and it was just alright. Quality you can expect from a chain restaurant. Nothing to write home about. When the bill came, we were not told that gratuity was automatically included for groups of more than 7 and so we added tips onto the bill. It was printed on the receipt, and we should have read it before paying but would have appreciate if the server reminded us prior to paying. read more

The poutine was delicious (granted, it was my first ever) and they make the guacamole AT YOUR TABLE. This location is nicely located close to king subway station & walking distance from Union. I made last minute reservations for my teams holiday lunch before Christmas holidays. I tried making the reservations online through their website but had issues as it kept bringing me to the main page to pick a location. Although they were busy, I was able to squeeze a spot. I had a party of 6 and I was able to unlock the free appetizer of guacamole for the table through yelp. I loved that they made the guacamole at the table & the chips were also served with salsa. I found that the chips were overly salted but the guacamole was made to perfection. I ordered a tuna salad and it is was delicious. As this location is so close to work, I come here frequently and the service is always great with attentive servers. They also have daily happy hour specials. read more

They have multiple screens with multiple games playing so good for sports fans on game nights! Our waitress was still very nice and attended to us right away. We ordered the giant nachos to start and they were actually very tasty! So cheesy and delicious. We wanted to try their winter menu special so my husband ordered the blackened mahi mahi. The fish was very nicely cooked with a very Herby spicy salsa. I also tried the lettuce wraps which were ok, a little bit too salty for my taste however. I think what's worth mentioning is the phenomenal service at this location. My friends and I booked a table for 10 after work on a Friday for a surprise birthday celebration. The staff were diligent, attentive and accommodating to our needs. A big shout out to Krizia and Danielle! We checked in to receive our free guacamole and although it's one per table, the staff offered to accommodate should we need. I've been meaning to write a review for a while now and I don't see why there are so many bad reviews! I've been here on several occasions and I've always had positive experiences. I think it's important to establish that this location is going for a modern, stylish atmosphere. The decor is really nice and the restaurant is always loud. If you're looking for a quiet dinner then this isn't the place for you. The food is always good. A little on the pricey side but the quality is always fantastic. From their starters to lunches to dinners, there isn't anything I wouldn't recommend. I also really like the service. Sometimes the servers are a little overwhelmed because of volumes but they're always friendly. They also value your time. For lunches they know you may be in a rush so they make sure to get you in and out quickly (without being pushy). I also had a positive experience where my dinner was wrong and they took of 50% from its price because I had to wait for my correct order. In summary, Moxie's is great if you're looking for an upbeat, modern bar/restaurant. Good service, good food, and a good time. read more
