The guys even climbed a ladder in my garage and pulled down boxes to move out of our old house. They taped open boxes and made sure loose items were secured. This is the second time we've used Reliable Moving for an apartment move in Seattle. Both times it's been a pleasure to work with Ben and his team. For our latest move we had to schedule in the busy month of December with only a couple of weeks notice. Both over the phone and via email Ben was very helpful and worked with me to find the best move date. The movers arrived on time. Thaddeus and his fellow mover (whose name I've forgotten, unfortunately) were friendly, professional and did a terrific job. I didn't have time to pack the kitchen myself so they packed it for us. They wrapped and boxed everything quickly and efficiently. All our stuff, including our vintage cocktail glasses and liquor bottles, arrived in perfect condition. We had a terrible experience with Reliable. * The office severely underestimated the time required for our move. * Movers arrived after the promised window, with no communication. * One had a bad back, but we were charged full rate for his services. * They were not particularly careful with our belongings, and we had significant damage. But the biggest issue: Our move consisted of two trucks: Furniture and other large items in Truck #1, and the smaller pieces in Truck #2. Truck #1 left first, but either got lost or stopped for a lunch break, so it arrived 30 minutes after Truck #2, and the movers unloaded the contents of Truck #2 into the house first. This meant that there wasn't room for the furniture when Truck #1 arrived, and they ended up taking undoing most of their work and starting over. Other movers arrived at the end of the day "to speed things along", and we ended up paying for them as well. The owner did knock $200 off of the final bill, but the cost ended up being double the original estimate. Warnings: 1. Make sure the office makes an accurate estimate. 2. If you have multiple trucks, ensure that they get unloaded in the right order. 3. Beware of extra movers, especially at the end of the day. You just want your move done, so it seems like a good idea, but everyone is tired and irritable, and they get in each others' way. I'm not sure they sped up the process, but they definitely did get expensive in a hurry. read more

I have used Reliable Moving twice now and they have been fantastic, fair and reasonably priced. The movers were proactive, thoughtful and careful. They arrived early, which worked very well for me. I was very good about being well-packed and that helped move things along quickly. I didn't have a car, so they let me ride with them rather than calling for a cab. Terrific service. Made a reservation 5 days in advance for Wednesday 1-3pm online and got a call from a gentleman called "Ben" WITHIN 15mins of my quotation request. On the day of the move, drivers were there promptly by 12:45, ahead of time to settle in (park, see the route to the apartment etc). I had a I BR apartment on the 6th floor of my building, and they cranked quickly enough to wrap it all up within an hour! They even lent me a big box for some spare things I hadn't packed (pillows, clothes in laundry basket, chargers etc). Unlike the other companies I had called, these guys only charged for the time spent driving TO your place (15mins), time spent there (1hr for me), time spent driving TO the destination and finally the time it takes them to get back to their headquarters. This is a lot better that some other movers that charge an administration fee, a truck rental fee as well as mileage fees. Reliable Moving charge $90 per hour which is very reasonable, and my final bill was $200. This is phenomenal because I'm used to rogue movers that take their sweet time and had mentally prepared myself to dish out $300 (SO glad I didn't have to) This has been a great hassle-free and prompt service and I encourage everyone in the Belltown area to use them. Messed up the scheduled move in time, sent the confirmation around 10:30pm the night before for the wrong time. Then no response from email or phone when we called in the morning to correct the time issue. Movers called to arrive at the incorrect time, to which we declined. Then when we tried to reschedule it (after finally receiving a call back) to the correct time that was originally scheduled the manager argued why we can't just move earlier. (seriously, have these people never moved before? Can't move into a place if you don't even have keys or finish the walk-through...) After much frustration and arguing and telling them to cancel the manager called us back within a few minutes and said ok they can move around the time we originally scheduled. (why they didn't do this at the start?) Very unprofessional, and we were lucky that another moving company had availability. (quick move transport, who was very professional, quick and did an amazing job especially for such short notice!) Moving is stressful enough, without your scheduled moving company messing up the schedule then arguing with you about when it was their mistake to begin with... read more

We hired Reliable Moving to unload an ABF U-Pack trailer delivered to our house in Issaquah. The three men who were sent (two brothers and a man named Kent) were extremely professional, friendly, and fast. Due to the loaders at our previous home in Virginia, multiple items of furniture were damaged. This team made sure they did not touch anything that looked damaged until one of us assessed it, to ensure that we knew about the damage and they could not be blamed for something that wasn't their fault. The price was good - $155 an hour for three men. They had to deal with rain and moving a piano and our barking dog and a LOT of stuff, but they didn't complain once and remained professional throughout the entire job. Not only that, but I was trying to find services on very short notice (I needed them 48 hours after I called), and the owner was very nice and provided good communication on availability and the timing. If I ever move again (although I hope to stay here for a long time!), Reliable is definitely at the top of my list of places I will hire. read more

Isn't moving one of life's most dreaded tasks? It's stressful, physically exhausting, and generally a giant pain in the butt. Twice now we've saved ourselves a huge headache by hiring Reliable Movers. They have been consistently fantastic, defined by their clear communication, reliable and courteous service, preparation, and great workers. My spouse and I were scheduled for a move with Reliable on a Friday, the day after we were to close on our new home in Everett. Our financing hit a glitch and we did not close on time. We contacted Reliable as soon as we could - about a day before, not knowing if things were going to close or not - and they were very flexible in working with us to reschedule later that weekend. I'm so thankful they were able to do that despite a busy time of year and a busy time of the month. Our move absolutely had to get done that weekend because of work and other scheduling demands. Reliable made it happen. Thank you to their dispatcher/scheduler, Ben, who rearranged their teams to make it happen and to the hardworking crew we had over two days. Our crew the first day, Richard, Thaddeus, and Sam were fast, hardworking, and very careful with our things. Since our move was two days we had mostly the same crew and they were great the whole time. They pointed out any damage on our furniture prior to the move so communication and expectations were clear. We were their second move of the day, but you wouldn't have known that by the way they worked. They arrived early afternoon and worked until late in the evening. Our new place was over 35 miles from our old place and we have a lot or stuff. I don't know how they did it, but thank goodness they do what they do. We had a stellar move last week with one of the team at Reliable Moving. Even though I'm currently surrounded by boxes and can't find a spoon to save my life, I had to stop and write a review because our move went off so smoothly. This will be my 7th house move and I thought I'd experienced some fairly decent teams, but these guys beat all our expectations. They were fast, cheerful, professional and a pleasure to work with. They cleared our house out in record time with nary a mark on the (very tight) walls. Nothing we threw at them in terms of tough jobs (like taking apart IKEA furniture or getting large beds up tight stairs) put them off their stride. We had to beg them to sit down and take a break or even eat lunch. At our new house, they moved out some furniture left by previous owners (down many, many stairs), dealt masterfully with very steep driveway and just made the day 100 times easier than any move I've had previously. Incidentally, at the end when they tallied up the hours it was less than their original estimate, which is down to the fact that these guys hauled butt all day and got it done faster than we could have believed. I would not hesitate to recommend them and plan to use them for every job I possibly can in the future. Thaddeus and team, you're the best! I had a totally different experience than the previous review. I dare say that I had the smoothest, least stressful, easiest move, ever! My experience with Reliable movers was smooth and seamless. Having never hired movers before, I had a terrific first experience. I had a pretty easy move (Ballard to Fremont with a stop at my Public Storage unit). All correspondence prior to moving day was sent when they said it would be,showed up on time, came in under estimate and not a single thing was broken, scratched, damaged, etc. I was expecting scary guys to show up, but my 2 guys were professional and courteous and not scary at all. My friend referred Reliable moving and said that it was the best moving experience he has ever had. I have moved several times and I absolutely hate moving. I find that most moving companies bid a job and then once they get to your place they "nickel and dime" you to death. This place was the opposite. In fact, my sofa didn't fit in my new place. I live three stories up and it wouldn't fit in the elevator nor the back stairs. The movers called in two more movers and they literally hoisted my sofa three stories over the side of the building. They did a great job. They moved my whole 1 bedroom apartment in the exact amount of time they quoted me. Out of all the things they moved, the only damaged item was a single $2 pint glass that I had forgotten to wrap in something to protect it. They even knew the best way to pack the truck so that my items would stay safe in transit. They wrapped all of my furniture up and kept it safe. The movers were friendly and professional. My only complaint is that they arrived at 11am instead of the 9:30am to 10:30am time they had told me. However, they did call at 10:30 to let me know they were in traffic on the viaduct and would be arriving shortly. So I'm not knocking any stars off for that because they handled being late exactly as they should have (a phone call and an updated arrival time). I will be using them again next time I move. I'm baaack and very, very happy! Best move experience ever! The entire experience was absolutely perfect. From the first call w/ Ben to schedule the move, and then his confirmation call the night before. On the day of the move, Pete called to let us know he & Jack were on their way to begin the move - showed up a little earlier than the scheduled time (awesome!), and then the two of them got to the business at hand. Obviously these guys knew what they were doing and their expertise was evident as they moved several cabinets from a downtown condo. There were some logistical challenges due to condo garage access, but it didn't daunt Pete & Jack one bit. Real pros. Reliable Moving fully lives up to their name....and more! "Reliable Moving" left my husband and I lurch on the day of our move. We scheduled them to come on a Saturday and they gave us an appointment window of 1-3pm but warned "that's just an estimation". By 4pm my husband an I were wondering where the "Reliable" movers were. We never received any phone calls or emails, so we started making our own inquires. They did not answer their phone and it took them a considerable time to return our voicemail. When they finally did return our call it was to tell us that they would not be coming. One of the movers was "sick" and they would come back the next day at the same time. Our entire house was packed (including beds and linens), and we had nowhere to sleep. We had planned to unpack everything at our new home. We decided to find different movers (last minute) who we tipped handsomely for the last minute help. "Reliable Moving" never apologized for being completely unreliable. read more

We are preparing for a move to southern California so we wanted to get estimates from a few movers. I called Reliable Moving and they seemed really nice and eager and accessible. We set up a time for a walk thru and an estimate. The guy said he would be here between 9:30 and 10 am. No one was here at 10:10 so I called the office. I had to leave because I had to go to work. It was frustrating but i wasn't too pissed off. We set up a second appointment. For today between 4 and 5 pm. I got a call at about 1 saying they needed to check with the dispatch to see if they had time for our move and they were really busy and they would call back in an hour. They called back and are not able to do my move. Fine. You are too busy and we are moving far away, I get it. My issue is with the awful timing. We have had this second appointment for at least a week and you decide to check and see if you have time for our move 2 hours before we are supposed to meet ???? Very inconsiderate and bad business practice. the only reason they got 2 stars is because at least they called me to say they were not showing up. read more

A terrible experience. They showed up four hours late. I had them move stuff into a storage unit. I went to the storage unit after they were done to find a mess. My guitar was under a bunch of boxes. Heavy stuff on top of boxes marked fragile. Boxes that were suppose to be kept in the front of the unit for easy access were buried deep in the back. I do not recommend this company. read more

In addition, the next day in the midst of a senior moment I thought they had misplaced a box of mine. I called and they promised to follow up and check the truck and ask the crew. He called back the next day and assured me that it was not on the truck. Of course, I found it the following day. Reliable Moving moved us yesterday and we had a great experience. First of all, I was happy that they even had availability as it's close to the end of the month - luckily, they had a spot open for us two days out from when I called (whew!). Ben was helpful on the phone talking over how his movers work and how the pricing works. He recommended using three movers instead of two as it's more efficient and therefore more cost-effective, and I'm glad we did. Our moving crew was Joe, Alex, and Bobby and they were friendly, professional, and efficient. You can tell they've all worked together a long time and know their roles on the team. They moved us from our condo and storage unit to our house in less than the quoted time. My condo has pretty strict rules about where to park and how to move, all of which they followed, and my concierge commented on how nice & conscientious the guys were. We packed our stuff and they got it all to the house safe & sound. I was tired at the end of the day and I hardly did anything...I don't know how they do it, but their hard work is much appreciated! My experience with this company was beyond fabulous. These guys are a CLASS ACT from start to finish. Ben was quick to get back to me and give me an estimate. That estimate was not only accurate, but a lot less than what friends who recently used another mover to move roughly the same amount of stuff paid. On moving day, 4 extremely polite, capable, strong and hard-working men arrived on time. They finished in an hour less than what they had estimated, and that lowered our price! Additionally, I was impressed with how well this team of four worked together. They had some pretty heavy, bulky stuff to get up to a third floor, and they did it all without damaging any walls or furniture. The movers ( Dewayne and Alex) did a fantastic job loading the truck (I rented my own). When we got to our destination in Port Angeles, nothing in the truck had shifted at all.
