Reliable is not so reliable. They were scheduled for August 25, 7:30. Two guys showed up but the equipment to take out the driveway didn't show up until 9:15. The next day the driveway was poured, and they did a good job. But they left ditches on on the sides and broke a sprinkler. I called Patrick, left him a message telling him about the sprinkler and asking him where the dirt was to fill in the sides. A week later, I called him again. He answered and said that he got my message. I told him I had had the sprinkler fixed and he said he would reimburse me for the charge and that the dirt would be on the way. I called the company number, and explained all this, and was told it would be sent up to the owner. It is now October, and I have still heard nothing, I don't have my dirt, and I have not been reimbursed. read more

RELIABLE Home Improvement? That's a joke in itself. Where do I begin with this review? I promise I won't bore you with a long story, so for those just wanting a quick review, here it is: these guys are mediocre. Once they get their money, they ghost you and don't care about you. They give you a 5 year warranty, but will draw it out and ignore your concerns and their mistakes. I got my house worked on by them last year, which by the way, the team themselves did not communicate with each other on what needed to get done, so the cost fluctuated three times. They do the job, but as time went by, I noticed mishaps with the house. First, my 1st floor bedroom's ceiling started to leak. I called them and thought it was a window leak, but it was because they jammed my dryer vent lid open during the entire fall/winter season and water and gunk had been blown up there. I told them to please fix their mistake and they said they would, but kept putting me off. Patrick, the head project manager then said he would only replace the lid, but not fix the ceiling. I ask him to fix their mistake and he just ghosted me. Secondly, my side fence was blown over during the winter because they didn't nail it into the house or any post! The side fence blew down and damaged the molding. They took a week to get there and put it up, but didn't change or smooth out the molding. The dents are still there. This company is unreliable and if I could give them zero stars, I would. They may have done some good work, but a project worth $50k should have been taken more seriously. Reliable's crew removed the existing, cut out many large redwood tree roots, installed several drainage inlets and piping to the street gutter. I was impressed about how hard they worked nonstop. Rebar 2'x2', compacted base and full 3.5 inch concrete. The concrete work was excellent. We provided a sketch as to how we would like the expansion joints to be done; somewhat complicated. In the early winter of 2023 the Reliable Home Improvement came to our house to resolve the issue with the patio roof, and whole fixing the roof they have destroyed the patio - it has slides of the main structure/house that it was attached to creating hazardous conditions for my little kids and the rest of the family if we were to use it. This business claims to have the warranty-resolve any issues within 5 years from the time the job done, but they do not follow their own guarantee guideline. Multiple times we tried to contact them but the owner has never responded or took ownership of the bad job done. We paid them $7k. And after the issues they created with patio we had to pay another $7k to fix it. Their excuse was that this was unauthorized structure. How come they have never brought it up to our attention until after they damaged it more than fixed, and collected their payment ‍‍‍We bought this house and did not know that. It was expensive but they did a nice job on remodeling my bathroom. The technician was very good and professional. The reason I did not give them a 5 was because I have a crackling noise in the wall. I called 3 different people in their company, but nobody returned my call. I had to repair the problem myself. They were very helpful in picking materials for the remodel. They just failed in follow up support. I called them also to ask if a final inspection by the county was necessary, but they never returned my call. Had an 8-foot sliding glass Door replaced. Jerry verified that it could be replaced, took measurements, asked if I had any concerns. He then ordered the door and called me several times to let me know how things were coming along. SO nice not to have to call, leave a message, and hope for a call back. Then Colton arrived yesterday morning with the replacement window. He proceeded to remove the old slider door which seemed to be a challenge, but he just kept going after it and shortly thereafter had it out. Then installed the new slider. which took him a considerable amount of time as he was adjusting it until it squared up and opened and closed SO smoothly. He then trimmed it out and it looks like it has always been there. It looks better than what I was expecting. If you want it done right, this is the team to have. read more

We were looking for a company who could do a cut in dog door into a sliding glass door rather than cutting into a wall. The new slider door with a cut in XL dog door is great; it's much more substantial than the old builder-grade slider door and I'm sure the slider will keep a lot of the hot/cold air outside where it belongs. Jerry was the project coordinator (great) and Colton was the installer, who by the way, did an awesome job, was very focused and is a true craftsman ... he even cleaned the slider door glass and hung back my drapery rod when the install was completed! We had previously hired Reliable to replace our storm door and upgrade our kitchen lighting from a fluorescent light box to recessed lighting. This time around we replaced our front patio cover with a pergola, had gutter guards installed, and had the attic insulation increased. Because of issues with the City Planning Department, the pergola took seven months to get permitted. Pat worked with us to come up with a design that the City finally approved; while not exactly what we originally envisioned, it turned out quite nice. Frank and the installation team put the pergola up to one morning. We did get the gutter guard installed pretty quickly, as was the addition of insulation in the attic. In both cases the crews were done in one morning. We've been in our house 40 years now and we noted that Reliable was the first contractor among the many we've dealt with who showed up when they said they would and got the work done in the time frame specified. Kudos to them for that alone! Michael has been our sales contact and he's been great, working with us to make sure each project falls within our comfort level. Reliable gave us a new roof. We were happy. As a handicapped person, I never went up into the attic to check the job from the inside of the roof. That was my fault. For some reason, the workmen at the time decided to put a large brace right in the middle of the access point going downstairs, hindering anyone trying to put items up there for storage. Why they did this, I don't know, but I wanted to find out and see if there is a workaround. We had a salesperson from Reliable come by the house for an interior painting quote. I told him about the brace, and he assured me that once he got back in the office, he would have it seen to. Several weeks pass - nothing. We called Reliable and spoke to the receptionist, who assured us she would bring the matter to the attention of management and have them contact us - Nothing. since then we have called repeatedly and left voice messages - no response to our calls. Reliable took the money we paid for the roof quickly enough, but since then, Reliable is one thing they have yet to be. read more

It's been about 5 years since my kitchen remodel so I have definitely let this stew some time: The "designer" I was assigned to left a lot to be desired. She was late to appointments and got appointment dates wrong. She seemed pretty scatter brained. I pretty much knew what I wanted in terms of the design kitchen anyway, so I didn't need much of her input. I remember dealing with Gabe (I believe he's the general lead guy) later on, who was much more pleasant to deal with. The remodel was quick. I like that it was about a week that my kitchen was up and running again. There was an issue with the granite slab that they installed (hairline crack by the sink at the most narrow part) and Shawn (I believe the owner) came out to chat with me about taking some $$ off the final price. It took a bit of haggling, I think he took off a couple K off the price because he didn't want to have to install a new piece, which is what I was requesting. At about the 6 month mark, the cabinets had begun to flake/chip and a hairline crack has formed in the travertine across several of the tiles. The cabinets are the thing that makes me the most mad because they made a big stink about the custom cabinetry is supposed to be "quality." I would beg to differ. The tiles might be more of a house settling issue, but still, not great. They do say that they will come out to fix stuff like that if you call them but I haven't called to ask for a fix on either of these things, mostly because the fix they would give me wouldn't really fix the problem. I think about a year or so later, we requested them to come back and deal with the mess left up in the attic/crawlspace area that they left - Things needed to be cleaned out and hammered down (there were bits of cut metal just sticking out) but they did that with no complaints. Gabe again was nice to deal with. 3 stars is about right, but really more like 2 stars but I gave them a bump because Gabe is a good dude. read more
