I wanted to reduce the noise as much as possible, I even considered getting triple pane windows. I requested a quote for both double and triple pane windows. Dave told me that he carries only Anlin but their double pane windows with a sound package and it's so good as triple pane windows. The quote I got was very detailed and included window specifications. It was very handy for a geek like me who wanted to verify and confirm all the details. In my recearch I found that Anlin sound package windows reduced noise by 29 decibles, comparing to 30 decibels for triple pane Pella, which confirmed Dave's statement. I had some limited availabilities due to my schedule and Dave was good at meeting me half way to find a working times for the installation. On the day of the install the team worked calmly, steadily, with great attention to the detail. It's been three months so far, but I've really enjoyed the noises reduction, temperature stability, and the high definition views these new windows provide.

Most importantly, they did a fantastic job matching and patching the area where the AC unit had been removed. Unless you knew it was there before, you'd never know there had been a hole in the wall. One thing I really appreciated was how clean they left everything. Anyone who has dealt with construction or home repairs knows that cleanup can sometimes be an afterthought, but that definitely wasn't the case here. They cleaned up after themselves and left the area looking great. Helpful tip: If you need stucco work done, have photos and measurements ready when you call. However, as we discussed installation, he insisted that no ceiling brace would be needed when the weight-bearing wall was removed, and that " a couple of two by fours" was an acceptable alternative to the standard 4 by 10 inch header. When we insisted that both a temporary brace and header were essential, his bid increased by about 50%. Grant also told us that the only window manufacturer he used could NOT make a window with the coating we desired. He refused to even call and ask them, so we did, finding they were more than happy to meet our request, at no additional cost. We were relieved to have someone else do the install. BEWARE.

The first couple places I found listed on Yelp weren't available until the following week at the earliest, which left me with a big old hole in my house for a week plus (not good). Their starting quotes also seemed high. I called Capital Glass and Construction and Grant came out that same morning to measure and place the order, and his quote was lowest of all. He explained how the repair and clean up would be done. Grant came back a couple days later with replacement glass and finished the job and cleaned up in about an hour. I was impressed. Hopefully i won't need them again but they'll be my first call if I do. Good local business. Strongly recommend.

One wouldn't even give me a quote without knowing how much I could spend. Cali siding and windows was completely different. Ivan came out to look at our siding. He listened when we explained what we wanted to repair, respectfully made recommendations, walked around the entire house to make sure all repair spots were noted. Their quote was reasonable and included siding and paint. Ivan answered all my questions regarding roof tiles and what would happen if the damage extended beyond the siding. They scheduled the work to start the very next day and Alex and David were on time and friendly. David introduced himself and Alex, and they answered multiple questions I had while they worked. The work itself was top quality. They were careful when removing the old siding to not disturb other parts of the house. They installed the new siding and sealed every joint and nail head before painting. The paint matches perfectly. And they did it all in two days! After they were done they took special care to clean up, picking up every scrap of debris. I've never had contractors clean up after themselves so well. It shows they really care about their customers. I would use Cali Siding and Windows again in a heartbeat.

My husband and I have been homeowners for over 25 years and have used many contractors. Without exaggeration Modern Construction Group has been the best contractor we have used. It started with the immediate response to our request to discuss changing the siding and windows on our near 40 yr old 3500 sq ft home. Gary showed up on time for our meeting and followed up with the quote and responses to our questions almost immediately. When work started we were so pleased with the care shown by the work crew on protecting our house and property. We had a lot of demolition that needed to happen but also wanted to ensure our Trex deck and metal roof were not harmed during the process. Gary's crew managed this flawlessly! The crew showed up every day at 8am and left at 6pm, they always left our house cleaned up for the night and were very friendly-even all of our neighbors commented on how nice and efficient the work crew was. Gary was checking in with us everyday to ensure we were happy with how things were progressing and to educate us on what was going to happen next. Our project took 3.5 weeks to complete and surpassed our expectations. The new James Hardie siding and Milgaard windows look so nice. Modern Construction Group came out to do an entry door repair at my condo. The building has settled some and due to that I could not get the weatherstripping to work correctly and kept getting little spiders and earwhigs come in. After having a handyman try to figure out what was going on, I decided to give up on that and find a B licensed and insured contractor who works with doors figure out what the problem was. Even though it was a smaller job Gary had his crew come out and realign/repair my entry door so now it is sealed up tight. Before they started the repair Gary explained everything that would happen. His crew did an excellent job, and even cleaned up after themselves, which is something not all contractors do. Afer the job was finished Gary came over and double checked their work and did a few touch ups that needed to be done that were mistakes created by the prior handyman I hired, which is something he didn't need to do because he was not responsible for those. 10/10 Five Stars, Highly recommended. After our appointment, I was very impressed and excited about the brand of windows he presented. The decision to replace my siding happened sort of suddenly, when I was remodeling my front and backyards, and I realized my shingle siding was not only unattractive, but also pretty damaged in a lot of areas. I had a few companies give me a quote and Modern Construction was not only reasonably priced, but also the most knowledgeable about the process, the products, what to expect, etc. I appreciated the honesty and no one tried to upsell me. They worked with me on change orders and financing etc. They got me on the schedule pretty quickly and the speed with which they completed the work was insane. They installed new drip edge flashing and reinstalled existing roof tiles back into place. We had an extensive exterior remodel done to our 70+ year old house. Exterior siding, exterior paint, new exterior lighting, new front door, replaced the side garage door, added a sliding glass door to our master bedroom, and a good amount of electrical work to round everything out. We worked with Ruslan and Gabe as the project managers while Nazer, Eric, and Jacob were the crew that did most of the exterior work. Edward and Vaska did the painting. Nazer and his crew were prompt every working day and they WORKED from morning to closing time. It was July/August and HOT but the guys worked with no complaints. Every step of the way, Ruslan, Gabe, and Nazer kept us in the loop and addressed every question or gripe we had. Every day, Nazer and his guys helped set up our dog fencing to keep our dogs out of their work area and would help break it down in the afternoon. They CLEANED the job site EVERY working day. Nails, screws, scraps, dust, etc was all cleaned up. Six months later......heat, cold, rain, wind.....everything is holding up great. The fit and finish of everything is excellent. I wanted to reduce the noise as much as possible, I even considered getting triple pane windows. I requested a quote for both double and triple pane windows. Dave told me that he carries only Anlin but their double pane windows with a sound package and it's so good as triple pane windows. The quote I got was very detailed and included window specifications. It was very handy for a geek like me who wanted to verify and confirm all the details. In my recearch I found that Anlin sound package windows reduced noise by 29 decibles, comparing to 30 decibels for triple pane Pella, which confirmed Dave's statement. I had some limited availabilities due to my schedule and Dave was good at meeting me half way to find a working times for the installation. On the day of the install the team worked calmly, steadily, with great attention to the detail. It's been three months so far, but I've really enjoyed the noises reduction, temperature stability, and the high definition views these new windows provide.

Started off by getting quotes from the big names around us--Brothers, Home Depot, Northwest and a few other companies we found on Yelp. It was pretty confusing to decide which brand windows to install. Do we do Simonton, Milgard, Renewal, Andersen, Pella, etc? Did some online research and reading and decided to go with Anlin Windows because they had the best warranty, technology and quality that we were happy with. Went to Anlin's website and looked for their lists of dealers/installers that were close to us. Got a few quotes that were pretty comparable. Then one weekend, I contacted Good News on Yelp. Didn't think anyone would respond on a weekend but was surprised when Lon replied back. We set up a time to meet the next day. On the scheduled day and time, Lon showed up. He was very knowledgeable and we really liked what we heard about the company. I like how the company gives a portion of their proceeds to help people (see their website for more details). We liked Lon so much that we actually signed a contract with him that same day. (Usually we like to wait a few days and compare quotes) A couple days later, Etta at the office (cool name!) called us to schedule a day for installation a few weeks out. On the day of our installation, Brian and Serge showed up on the scheduled time and worked diligently the entire day. At the end of the day, I think they must have polished the glass or something because the windows looked amazing! My husband jokes that we now have 4K windows because they just look so great! We only did a portion of our windows because window replacement can be pricey. We will definitely have Good News HI to install the rest when the time comes. We told our friend about Good News recently and he also had them come out to do his windows. Highly recommend Good News if you're needing new windows! Most importantly, they did a fantastic job matching and patching the area where the AC unit had been removed. Unless you knew it was there before, you'd never know there had been a hole in the wall. One thing I really appreciated was how clean they left everything. Anyone who has dealt with construction or home repairs knows that cleanup can sometimes be an afterthought, but that definitely wasn't the case here.
