I got 4 quotes for a small stucco job at the front of my house. Only Atlas Stucco gave me the non-BS quote and evaluation. The other 3 companies over estimated by charging for a scaffolding when it is overkill for the task at hand. One quote estimated the same amount as Vlad quoted me just to setup a scaffolding. 2 quotes came out almost double the quote of Atlas Stucco. The 3rd quote charges by the hour and can end up 3 to 4 times. If you want no BS stucco repair whether large, small or a new stucco installation, contact Atlas Stucco. Not only I got educated by the science behind stucco but also didn't pay for unnecessary extra fees like scaffolding. There are times a scaffolding will be needed but mine doesn't. The folks at Atlas Plastering, Stucco and Construction are amazing: all new windows, all new stucco, lots of little things repaired, and all completed in a timely manner. I had initially hired two different--very large, and very well-known--local companies to do the work I needed, but the first was incompetent, and the second felt the issues were too big for them to handle. Atlas took on the work without hesitation, walked me through the whole process, and ended up doing much more than twice as much work as the other companies had proposed, for only a very slightly higher fee. I definitely received great value for my money, and no one tried to sell me anything I didn't need. When a building inspector made ridiculous demands, Vlad told me that he would take care of it, and through his persistent efforts in dealing with the building inspectors we were eventually able to continue the project as originally planned. As little things came up along the way, Vlad made every effort to accommodate me. I also can't say enough about his crew, who did a great job of cleaning up everything at the end of each day and could not have been more pleasant to work with. Any time I asked them to do additional work they were on it immediately, and they offered many suggestions on their own to improve my home. Did a very good job on work done at our home in Davis, CA. Needed replacement due to water damage. Stucco work quality seems great! In addition to stucco replacement on the back part of our home, we also had two sliding patio doors and 6 windows replaced as well. Very easy to communicate with Vlad and his team and they were all very responsive. Vlad and his team seemed to really know what they were doing and gave good suggestions at the start of the project to make it go smoothly. Almost a five star job, but there were two small issues - small area of damage of our flagstone patio that I'll need to repair. Also, would agree on a comment posted elsewhere here that that the indoor caulking around the windows was so-so. Some cracks have developed afterwards (as the caulk dried and cured) so I'll have to put in a little work into this. ADDENDUM Changing review to 5 stars! Horrible customer service and sloppy work. Owner does not return phone calls or text messages. I am 2 months in to a two-week repair job and have been at a standstill for 2 weeks. They are supposed to be repairing and re-stuccoing the entire backside of my two story house. They have damaged windows and window screens. One of the damaged windows is exposed and even though they knew it was going to rain on Saturday they never showed up to cover the window, like they said they would, to protect my house and prevent rain from coming inside. They didn't answer their phone or return text messages, again, so I now have additional water damage. This is not a company you want to hire. read more

Starting with the initial experience of having Vlad come onsite. He presented well, professional. He did a walk around of the property and returned a quote promptly. we received 3 different quotes and was the best for the price. Prep work started quickly after we signed our contract and they got to work. The house was prepped quickly, however there was quite a few nails left behind. I have dogs so i had to ensure that there was nothing for them to get hurt on. This was my biggest (and really only) complaint. We also contracted Vlad to do the windows. They are superb compared to what we had. The windows took about 3 weeks to arrive after they were ordered and they installed them in about a day. There was no significant issues with the window install except for the tape used peeled some paint off the window sills. The sills were already damaged and it was not an issue as we were already going to repaint, but we let him know this as well. Again, not a big issue for us as we already planned on repainting anyway. The lathe went up without a hitch one the windows were installed It was outstanding, even the inspector commented on their work. The lathe was reinforced at the window corners, bituthene over the paper, and not a single question other than who did the work, (Inspector was being lazy it is on the permit he was signing). Regardless, great job here. A few days after the lathe went up they started the brown coat. It went up with no issues and began the curing process. It takes around 21 days to cure. We picked our color and got paint ordered. We had the eaves sprayed the same color as the house and this went perfect. Two days after the eaves were painted, Vlad's team returned with Sanded Acrylic and began the color coat. They got through the 2/3rd of the house the first day and that is when we noticed a problem. It was the wrong color. We let Vlad know and he began working on fixing the problem. It turns out that the supplier had an issue with their color mixer and it was not right. They had to wait for the machine to be fixed before they could get the color updated. It took about 2 more weeks to get that issue resolved. They came back out and filled cracks in the walls that were unfinished and reapplied the correct color to the front and side that had color. They applied the Acrylic to the back side and we could see another issue. all of the cracks that were filled on the back were visible. Vlad came back out and tried a couple of fixes that were ultimately unsuccessful so they did a second coat. This finished it up nicely. at this point everything has been completed with the exception of the final inspection, because our new Gutters have not been hung yet. All in all, there were issues but largely not a result of the work that Vlad and his team did. They handled those issues with no question and kept in contact the whole time it was happening. I would absolutely recommend Vlad for other projects, his business ethics and workmanship are above par in every way. read more

I hired Atlas after reading a lot of reviews and after having another contractor out to give me an estimate for replacing the deteriorating wood siding on our home. The first contractor wanted to put the stucco right over the siding rather than removing it before placing the stucco. He literally tried to talk me into it and convince me it was fine. While the simplicity of that idea was appealing, I knew from a repair I had done there was dry rot and potentially more elsewhere. I was pretty ignorant about it but my gut said a bad idea. After more research and reading I had Vlad from Atlas came out to give us an estimate and he was unequivocal that the siding should come off and start from scratch. We were also having our roof redone and Vlad advised us of the need to put some new flashing in one area which would mean repairing the stucco in that spot. That recommendation actually made his job harder but doing it right was and quality was hit priority. I was very happy with their services. And at a fair price, I felt. The outcome exceeded my expectations which doesn't happen often. I am extremely picky and while I'm sure at times Vlad wanted to shoot me, he patiently listened to my concerns when they arose, diplomatically answered my sometimes dumb questions, and walked me through each stage of the process as work progressed. The work was exceptional. If you research stucco and look at a lot of actual homes, you'll find the difference in quality between the worst and the best is dramatic--both in the appearance and in the quality and longevity you can expect. I've literally seen no work nicer than the work Atlas did on my house and recommend them without reservation.
