What really stood out was that Phil, the owner, personally reached out that same evening to ask how the appointment went and whether our questions had been answered, regardless of whether we hired them. Coming from an HVAC sales background myself, that meant a lot to me. I've always appreciated family-owned businesses, and an owner who takes that kind of interest in a potential customer says something about how the company operates. Phil and I ended up talking about a roof replacement we were also planning. I'd already met with six roofing companies, but that conversation convinced me to get one more estimate. We ultimately hired California Energy for both the roof and insulation. What followed was a complicated project with multiple contractors working at our house, changing schedules, and a few unexpected problems. California Energy has been very accommodating throughout. Jamie, our project manager, deserves a tremendous amount of credit for coordinating everything. She's had to work around other trades, adjust schedules, and keep things moving while making sure our concerns were addressed. I know it hasn't been easy, and I genuinely appreciate the effort she's put into it. I've also had the opportunity to work briefly with Tony, another project manager, who has been incredibly responsive, helpful, and willing to step in whenever needed. John and Oscar, who handled the roofing work, have been excellent. They've been professional, attentive to details, and willing to follow through on questions or concerns. I genuinely have no complaints about my experience working with either of them. The roof is now complete, and the old attic insulation has been removed. We're waiting to blow in the new insulation until some electrical work is finished, with a few minor items still to wrap up. I also want to give Jose a special shout-out. While working at our home, he noticed an existing issue with our HVAC system that could have become a very expensive problem. Instead of simply pointing it out and moving on, he advocated for us, communicated with our existing HVAC contractor, and helped get the issue thoroughly investigated. That ultimately led to the discovery that our two-year-old rooftop HVAC unit was defective, and our HVAC company is now replacing it. Jose could have easily considered that someone else's problem, but he didn't. We're extremely grateful for his attention to detail and persistence. Thank you, Jose! Not everything has gone perfectly, but with a project of this size, I don't expect it to. What matters to me is how a company responds when legitimate concerns come up. In my experience, California Energy has listened, communicated, and worked to make things right rather than brushing us off. That speaks volumes about their commitment to customer satisfaction. One thing that really stands out to me is how many employees I can name: Mitch, Phil, Jamie, Tony, John, Oscar, and Jose. Each has made a genuine impression and contributed to helping us navigate what has been a challenging few months of home projects. I think that says a lot about the people this company employs and the relationships they build with their customers. That kind of personal connection and accountability is becoming harder to find, and it's something I truly appreciate. We still have the insulation installation and a few finishing touches ahead of us, and I plan to update this review once everything is officially completed. Obviously, I can't speak to what their customer service will look like years down the road, but based on everything we've experienced so far, California Energy Consultant Service has earned an A+ from me. The negatives: a broken sprinkler, poor communication about permitting. Overall, we are very happy with the windows themselves. I wish the other details had been a little better, but big picture is that we are happy with the three contractors who spent all day in the sun and yet just powered through, not sacrificing quality work. Communication improved later, and we can already tell that these windows are better at keeping heat out than the old ones.

Removed the curtains and shades with care and reinstalled them when completed. We got windows custom to fit an older home (1970s build) despite that the price was 1/2 what I planned for. Originally I was going to order standard windows and DIY it myself, Im so glad I went with these guys instead. They could work on communicating the timeline to install without prompting, but other than that they're very responsive when you inquire. Email or phone they respond within a day. Grant also told us that the only window manufacturer he used could NOT make a window with the coating we desired. He refused to even call and ask them, so we did, finding they were more than happy to meet our request, at no additional cost. We were relieved to have someone else do the install. BEWARE.

We signed the paperwork in the late Fall, which is a busy time for them but Jeremy was always up front with their estimated timing, which I really appreciated. Once the work started, the job was completed pretty quickly. Again, Jeremy and his crew were very communicative and kept me updated on the status of the work until it was done. They also fixed some plywood dry rot and installed new plywood as well as correcting some roof deck problems in addition to all of the siding replacement. I wanted to reduce the noise as much as possible, I even considered getting triple pane windows. I requested a quote for both double and triple pane windows. Dave told me that he carries only Anlin but their double pane windows with a sound package and it's so good as triple pane windows. The quote I got was very detailed and included window specifications. It was very handy for a geek like me who wanted to verify and confirm all the details. In my recearch I found that Anlin sound package windows reduced noise by 29 decibles, comparing to 30 decibels for triple pane Pella, which confirmed Dave's statement. I had some limited availabilities due to my schedule and Dave was good at meeting me half way to find a working times for the installation. On the day of the install the team worked calmly, steadily, with great attention to the detail.
