4 Seasons Room. We decided to have our patio enclosed. Called a few companies to bid. Went with Petkus Brothers because Kevin went the extra mile for us. He ended up giving us a far better room than just the enclosed patio that we had planned. Instead of using our existing patio roof, he convinced us to tear it off and replace it with a new roof, so that he could raise the height of the ceiling. Great decision. We actually had our room built in Nov of 2016. I have been waiting to write a review until I was comfortable writing a 5 star review. Because we built in Nov (when the prices were less because it was "off season") and because Kevin had the idea to pour extra concrete to level the patio, it did take a long time for the concrete to fully dry. We could walk on it in a day or 2, it was plenty hard, It just released moisture for months. Of course it didn't help that we had an abnormally wet year for Sacramento. It is now May, 2017. The concrete is fully dry and has been for a few weeks. We are now ready to paint the cement and then put down area rugs. Mind you, we have been using the room all winter...we just couldn't install flooring. The room included an AC/Heating unit...which works great. We have parrots in our room, and we ran the heater every night through the winter. Now that hotter weather has arrived, we have used the AC and that works well too. The biggest thing I was skeptical about was the glass in the windows. Kevin showed us a demonstration in his showroom, about heat lamps that were placed behind different types of glass. The glass that he was going to use for our room, dramatically resisted the heat. Knowing how hot it gets in Sacramento, I was afraid that we would have to run the AC in our addition all afternoon, until the sun went down. I am happy to say, that the glass works very well. It was over 90 degrees last week with the sun beating on the glass. I put one hand on the inside of the glass door and one hand on the outside of the door. The difference was dramatic. The glass on the inside was cool and the galss on the exterior was not warm, it was hot! We were really torn between adding the 4 seasons room to our home or remodeling the kitchen. We chose the patio room. Best decision ever. We added 400 sq feet to our home, which is fully permitted. It has really increased the value that we place on this home...as well as the economic value of our home. Everyone who visits falls in love with the room...as have we. So glad we chose to go with the room and with Petkus Brothers. What I would do different: I would have had them install gutter guards on the gutters...which I will get done. But I would have just had them do it while they were assembling the gutter system. I may have waited until summer to have it built, because the cement would have dried more rapidly...it would have cost more...so it is a toss up. I read a review about a salesperson not being responsive. Our experience with Kevin was that he was highly responsive..answered every call in a timely fashion ( less than 24 hrs, usually with in an hour or 2). We did have a problem with the building of the cement steps outside the room. I thought, uh oh...this could be bad. Nope, within 24 hours, everything was fixed and the job done right. Over all...5 stars...would hire them again in a minute to take on another remodeling project in our home. read more

Our experience with Petkus Brothers has been awful, disappointing and frustrating. I only gave 1 star because I had to. The customer service they provide is non-existent and extremely unprofessional....bordering on unethical as they don't follow up when there is a warranty in place or when they agreed to address an issue. They make promises they don't keep and tell you they will follow up and do not. You have to keep calling them because they never follow through with what they say they will do. We are now at a dead end and the supervisor Kevin is not even responding. I do not recommend Petkus Brothers due to the poor customer service and poor follow through. It all started in 2020. We moved into our home Oct 2020 that had a new sunroom that Petkus Brothers built. We noticed as it started raining in winter, the sunroom was leaking. We reached out and after multiple back and forth calls trying to get them to come out, they did after a month and tried to fix it. They had to come out again as there was still leaking in same spot. It once again took them a while to come out and it consisted of me continuously calling due to lack of follow up. Then around 12/13/21, when it started raining, the same area was leaking. We have been going back and forth since then and no results. Rob came out 1x, said he would have Petkus reach out the next week as he needs to redo the flashing. That never happened. We were communicating with Maryanne by phone and email and we were assured that the issue would be fixed and addressed since they did not fix the problem originally and said Rob has to change the flashing and we were informed the owner was aware as well. We have documentation of this communication. We then didn't here back. We kept calling as there was no f/u and finally i got a hold of Kevin the supervisor at end of January who said that Rob will be coming out to fix it hopefully the next week. We heard nothing and reached out Feb 1 and we were informed Rob is out right now and his schedule is pushed out a week and would be informed of when he is back at work. I heard nothing. I called Kevin earlier this week and no response. We have been very patient with the lack of follow up and the MANY excuses they had of why they couldn't come out or why they didn't contact us. I would not recommend Petkus Brothers at all based on our experience unless u want to be disappointed, and frustrated. It sounds like other yelp reviewers have had similar issues with their lack of follow up. read more

As a continuation to my post of 5/26/17, I will now confirm that Petkus Brothers is the most inept, incompetent and unprofessional company I have EVER done business with. As in my previous post, the finished product is great only because of the person that installed it. After five months we decided to once again try to coordinate our final inspection. After contacting Petkus, a day was scheduled. I told them, after the last fiasco I was not going to sit home for three hours and wait, and I asked for a call when the inspector was on his way and I could be there in 12 minutes. I was told that we would receive a call the morning of the inspection and would be given a time. Again, I told Petkus, as the contractor of record I expected someone from their office there at my home when the inspector arrived. Now why did I know this was not going to go as planned.... Didn't receive a call in the morning, so I called Petkus and asked when to expect someone? It was very obvious that the girl didn't call the City in the morning to check the schedule. She called me back and told me the inspector would be there between 9-12. I again repeated that I needed a "heads up" call so I could be there in time. She informed me they have no control of that (which I really do understand). I asked her, then how would Petkus know when to arrive at my house to meet the inspector? knowing full well they wouldn't be there. Were they going to sit there for three hours? Again, I reminded her I wanted the contractor there. She said I will have to call you back. No sooner did I hang up the phone, low and behold the inspector called and was at my home and it was only 8:20. Fortunately, because of the last episode, we left a note on our door to the inspector letting him know that if he is reading this note to please call me. The inspector tells me that he didn't need to come in the house to inspect the smoke alarms, which Petkus insisted was necessary. The inspector left a form for me to sign that fulfilled this requirement. He also asked where my paper permit was so he could sign it off. Well, Mr. Inspector, it's in the house because NOBODY told me to leave it out for you. He was very understanding and I made arrangements with him to get the permit. Thank you Mr. Inspector. I will NEVER recommend Petkus to anyone!!!!!!!!!!! This whole process has been an abolsute nightmare. read more

We write this comment to congratulate Kevin Petkus for a job well done with our sun room and patio cover. Following are some observations. The GOOD: Petkus Brothers has lots of GREAT people. Luis who delivered ALL construction materials was so careful with handling things. Luis put us at ease with his knowledge of how things will be done and what to expect. Then Jeff and Martin came and delivered such high quality work with a friendly attitude. We left our house unattended without concern while Jeff and Martin did their MAGIC things so fast and efficiently. Beautifully done. The BAD: Beware that the City Building Permit took almost 3 months for approval. The UGLY: We did not know exactly what and everything we wanted in the design of the sun room and patio cover. For example, where to place natural gas line, drainage line, water line, internet line for entertainment centers, electrical outlets, etc. The LESSONS: Do lots of research on the design and requirements for the project. Ask lots of questions from all contractors. Know exactly what and everything you wanted before signing contract. Do not change your mind AFTER as this requires more approval time from the City. Pay close attention to the details as things are being built. Manage own expectations as these type of projects take times especially during summer time. Feed the Petkus Brothers team. Donuts are nice. Water and lunch are very nice. Jeff like chocolate mint milk shake (no ice cream please) while Martin and Luis like lots of ice cream after meals. Remember, they ALL work so hard to deliver an "environment" that allow you to relax and add years to your life. OVERALL: Kevin Petkus was patient in explaining things, responsive to our change requests, and very professional from start to finish. Thank you Kevin. Very Happy Customer. read more

Petkus Brothers put up our patio roof 17 years ago, and just converted it from a lattice to solid cover. It turned out so well. The look is amazing. The original structure, posts and cross beams, have lasted through every kind of weather we've experienced. In about 2 days' time, Kevin's crew completed this update. They gave outstanding attention to making the whole structure appear to be brand new. They thoroughly cleaned the original, carefully removed all the old lattice tubes, and put up the new solid roof sheets as though there were no seams. After doing the construction, the Petkus crew then stayed for hours to make sure everything was thoroughly cleaned up. You couldn't even tell that they'd been here for two full days! This company knows what they are doing. Kevin and Dan Petkus both came to our home to make sure they knew what we wanted and how this change would tie into our home and roof line. Then Kevin returned again with a detailed blueprint of what would stay, what would change, and how it would benefit us. Many other construction and home improvement contractors don't even bother to come out during the work underway, but Petkus Brothers cares and they did, We want to let others know that they deserve the highest rating they can receive. So we're happy to give Petkus Brothers all 5 stars, and then some. Ron F. read more

My wife and I have used Petkus Brothers in particular Keith Petkus for many years on numerous projects ranging from a new sunroom to remodeling our master bath and bedroom, adding new skylights, roofing, electrical, to our most recent project, installing brick pillars with electric gates and wrought iron fencing as well as creating a beautiful courtyard with fountain that we never would have thought of without his creativeness. We have NEVER been disappointed with the quality and craftsmanship of work! Keith is able to coordinate all the contractors on a given project which is not an easy task, and allows for a project to be completed in a timely manner. A few of the contractors we spoke with on the most recent project stated they were so busy they would not have even responded to this job had it not been for Keith calling them personally! Keith has established that type of reputation within the local contracting network. As homeowners Keith takes almost all of the hands on in dealing with contractors ourselves away which truly makes our life easier and less stressful. Also, if items are not completed to his highest of standards he has the issue corrected! We have and will not hesitate to continue recommending Petkus Brothers to anyone! read more

We had Petkus Brother install our outside patio cover when we bought our new home. We were very happy with their work, so when we decided to enlarge our living room out to the patio area. We called Petkus Brother, after talking to Kevin Petkus he came up with a designed for new patio/living room, enclosed the patio area and removed original living room wall. Petkus Brother Engineer Mike kept me in the loop and if I had any issues Mike follow up it and would call me back with the answer. When the project started the first contractor and his hard working crew removed the old patio concrete pad in less than day and by the third day a new reinforced concrete pad and new patio area was poured and ready for building the walls. Petkus Brother's carpenter Jeff (professional and very hard working) built the walls that enclosed the new living room, and then removed the old living room wall. All the contractor's (Juan, Martin, David, Jose and Jerry) and there crew were all knowledge, professional and worked very hard to complete our living room project on time. read more

Let me begin by saying Kevin Petkus is a super nice guy!!!! In spite of the fact, he recently lost his Father, he made the time to come visit me & answer some concerns about a "Sunroom & Spa project" he did for me and my family. He answered all questions and exercised all "the 3 Big C's" in a extremely professional manner. If you don't know what the "The 3 C's" are, let me explain. 1. He was Clear 2. He was Concise & 3. & most of all he was Caring!!!!!!!! The project he did for us was 7 years ago!!! He could have replied and told us that it had been so long ago that he could care less, but instead he offered us complete assistance. He further stated, that if I needed any help in the future, to just call him and he would make himself & his staff available when needed. Besides doing an excellent job for us on our Sunroom & Spa, I can't say enough wonderful things about Kevin Petkus!!!! I highly recommend their services!!!!! Sincerely, Carl & Lala Saunders Folsom, Ca. read more

In 2011 we got a referral to Petkus Brothers to do some improvements in our 1990-era home. There was a redwood balcony off the 2nd story Master Bedroom, facing south (and the weather), that essentially was storm-beaten in the winter, and was too hot in the summer to spend any time there. That year (2011) Petkus came out and designed and installed an aluminum balcony cover, painted to match the house. This essentially has given us three rooms we didn't have before: 1) the Master Bedroom is fully shaded now, and 10 degrees or more cooler in the summer 2) the balcony is pleasant to sit in, with a view of the second story of our backyard trees. 3) the patio beneath is now rain shielded, so we (and the dog) can go out a little into the night, even if it is raining. Even her outside bed is protected. This was a worthwhile investment, even now, 11 years later. Of all the things we've ever done on our 32 year old house, this Petkus job is the one we are happiest about. read more

Petkus Brothers added an addition to our home. We wanted to make it look like it was part of the original build. We had them move about 20 feet of our back wall out 12 feet to make a great room. Through their suggestions as well as taking our needs into consideration, we got a beautiful addition. They also redid our flooring in the whole downstairs with tile that looks like hardwood floors and painting the whole first floor. Everyone they had come to work on our home was respectful and did an exceptional job. The only suggestion I would have for the project manager would be to communicate a little more if workers were not coming. We began talking to the workers and they did a good job communicating, but when one group left and a new group for the next phase came in, sometimes we didn't know what to expect. Overall, we appreciated all that they did and would recommend them to anyone for a room addition. read more

Our home improvement project included adding a patio cover and our fixing our second floor kid's bathroom (leaking tub basin). Instead of having to hire two separate contractors, one for each project, we were able to hire Petkus Brothers to perform both improvements. The patio cover was affordable and well made/assembled. The bathroom fix became a remodel, and it turned out looking awesome. My wife and I were so pleased that we decided to use Petkus Brothers to remodel our kitchen. Needless to say, Petkus did not disappoint as our kitchen looks sooooo much better. Kevin Petkus has been open, honest, upfront and very helpful with accommodating all of our changes through the projects. We highly recommended Petkus Brothers for your patio additions, bathroom remodels and kitchen remodels. Thank you to Kevin and his reliable, skilled team for making our home a place to call home. read more

Petkus Brothers did a great job! I had a cement slab and patio cover replaced. Scott came and provided the estimate. I appreciate his honesty in providing and recommending the best route for what I was trying to accomplish. The workers from Thomas's Concrete are craftsmen. Pouring concrete is laborious job and it was nice to see that they took pride in their work. The cement is beautiful! James, the patio installer was wonderful. His attention to detail and desire to do things right and with quality was much appreciated. My one negative would be the lack of communication when you are in the "waiting for your turn" mode. Delays are inevitable but I would have appreciated some kind of an idea of an install dates without having to call and ask. Overall is was a good experience and I would recommend and use Petkus Brothers again. read more

I cannot say enough good things about Petkus Brothers. They did an outstanding job building our new Trex deck and pergola. Kevin Petkus was easy to work with and solved several engineering problems that made this project special. He removed and hauled away our old ugly sunken sunroom that had frosted glass. But the real breakthrough was when Kevin proposed to generate enough headroom to construct an elevated Trex deck flush with our family room floor by raising the pergola supports above the roof. Kevin also found a way to make good use of the old brick wall that supported the sunroom to now surround the elevated Trex deck. The results speak volumes --- it looks like the house was originally build with the Trex deck and pergola and not a remodel. Thank you Petkus Brothers! Dick P. read more
