Reese's has been around for what feels like forever and talked about by locals for as long as I can remember so we finally decided to give it a shot. Underwhelming pretty much sums up the experience unfortunately. The cream of potato soup was watery & not creamy like that soup should be. The burgers were a letdown as well. For an Irish pub I figured it'd be a solid choice for a good burger but I was wrong. They were small, bland, & came without lettuce/onion/tomato. The blue cheese was some cheap straight out of a plastic bottle runny dressing, and the American had to be those kraft single slices, but still cost $14. The grilled cheese sandwich came open face style and wasn't anything to write home about either but still cost $12. Overall I'm glad I gave this place a shot to say I tried it but that's about it. We won't be coming back for the food any time soon. read more

Small and Irish. My boss took me here for lunch and I had a very good burger and fries. Can't remember what she had . The place is darker and "felt" paneled, although I can't be sure, as I didn't specifically note the walls. The bar was full, and the bartender is known to be feisty and entertaining. This place is known for their great food and atmosphere-and it certainly didn't fail to meet those expectations. I Will be visiting again! read more

This is a fantastic local bar. The food is top notch, my favorite is the sheppards pie and the best part is it's not loaded with salt. The service is friendly. They make the best traditional cocktails in Patchogue. The prices are reasonable. The location is meh on the corners of Lake and Ocean but it adds to the urban charm of Patchogue. When I first came here I "settled" on it because everything else was so busy. Silly me because this place is a gem. It's a block off of the main drag but don't just keep this place in your back pocket if the busier restaurants are too busy, make this place one of your gotos. When it comes to the pandemic they didn't have much room for outdoor dining but they made a tremendous effort to put it together on their little sidewalk and it worked. My husband placed a to go order and went to pick up immediately. We are 5 minutes away from the establishment. He returned home with two cold roast beef sandwiches on stale Kaiser rolls, not enough gravy for the dip and some decent Cole slaw. There was more bread than meat. I'm extremely disappointed and annoyed as I waited all day to eat and this is what I got. I Understand that restaurants are struggling but if you want to keep your customers you got to maintain the same quality of food that you were serving before the pandemic now I noticed everybody's cutting back on their portions they're not taking good enough care to make sure that the food arrives home to your home table as if it were being served at the restaurant I feel like no one cared and just ship the stuff in a box and sent us on our way this will be the last time I ever purchase from this restaurant . good luck read more

I've been coming here for as long as I can remember and the food as never failed me. From the burger to the soups, the sandwiches and everything in between, this place has been doing it's thing and continues to be a Patchogue landmark among all of the new restaurants in town. First off, it's easily one of my favorite spots in town (or anywhere) to get a big ol' juicy cheese burger. Plain, with cheese, or cheese & bacon, you're making a great choice and cannot go wrong. The soups are always good, I love the French onion served up classic style with pumpernickel bread for that added kick. Lobster bisque is also a hit, split pea, etc...I love their soups. My family is always a fan of their sandwiches be it roast beef, corned beef, or the pastrami. Served with the roast beef is their homemade horseradish sauce which is a winner in my book and is always a side order to dip my fries. I usually post drinks/beers, but this place is pretty status-quo with that. You can order your usual G&T or a Bud, but don't expect anything too fancy. The Reese's vibe is one all its own; the warm lighting, minimal seating, locals at the bar, a incredibly friendly wait staff. I cannot say enough good things. read more

Fries made from potatoes not something taken out of a frozen box.. and the best cole slaw I have ever had. I can't explain why I have not been there for years, but my mistake... Irish / American hidden gem. Reese's 1900 is one of those places that you always hope to find when looking for a cozy place with great food and drinks. I think we all have a mental picture of a bar / restaurant like Reese's but most places just don't deliver. Walk into Reese's and it is like a little trip back in time - sort of like a cozy country cottage... a cozy country cottage stocked with your favorite libation and some seriously good food. Sort of reminds me of the Irish pubs I frequented while growing up in Queens. Great bartenders, a boat load of nice locals and the aforementioned good grub makes this place a winner in anyone's book. Bar area is old wood with some small tables with more dining room space upstairs they can get a good crowd in here. Prices are average- but I will tell you this- it beats the snot out of most of the Patchogue places that are trying much too hard (Meetballs etc.) This is a solid food and drink place and you will have yourself a nice time as well. Definitely give it a shot- we will be in there more often! Parking up the street and here and there. read more

So I see that a lot of the comments are very high ratings, not exactly sure why. Burgers had no flavor. Chili wasn't spicy, I had to add a LOT of hot sauce to get it to be a bit spicy and I regretted eating it the next day. The only thing I took away from this place was to put the bacon under the cheese. Meanwhile the onions were really tasty! The The tables are very small and it was busy so our group opted to sit at the bar, which was nice and the bartender was very nice - you can tell he cares about the place, but it is way too small. The stockpiling of used glasses in front of us was rather disturbing. It didn't help that there was only one person working behind the very busy bar and the owner was too drunk to help him out. At all. Literally, knocking over bottles, drinking from them to polish them off, and letting the other customers (regulars I assume) rub his bald head. When you see Reese's 1900 from the outside it looks like a house. But when you walk in you walk into another time. They play 40's music to set the tone in a low lite dining room. Before I could look around I was greeted by Loran, who has the privilege of being a waitress there for 15 years. Loran engaged the table with conversation about the history of the place and the area. I went to the second floor, that's right, the second floor to use the bathroom and while waiting for the bathroom I spoke with the owner, Joe. What a top notch guy. Very friendly and smart. Coming back to the table Loran guided us through the ins and outs of the menu and then we places our order. The food is in the realm of perfection! Everything is made in house so it's always fresh. Reese's is top 5 for me and that says a lot. We had the coleslaw and potato salad first. I might add I hate coleslaw......or so I thought. But after trying it at Reese's, that set the benchmark for me! Loran was so sure we would like the potato salad she brought some to the table and that to was excellent. Next our appetizer came. When I tell you those potato skins were good I mean they were good! They are not shy with cheese and give you your money's worth. Finally the Reese's 1900 cheese burger! Wow that burger was big and made right. The beef is from a local deli so it is always fresh. The bacon on my burger was crunchy!!! Some one tell McDonald's that bacon is suppose to be that way. They don't over-do the bun so you taste the burger. All these other restaurants need to "stop trying to reinvent the wheel!" People go to eat meat from the burger, I don't care if you use Ciabatta bread! They give you what you ask for at Reese's, beef! Finally Joe, the owner, came to our table and talked to us again and spoke to us about things other then the food. That's wondering in my book. Joe listened and took the compliment in with great acceptance! Joe is a owner that truly cares about his business. The only negative for me was finishing my burger to soon. Is there a law against order seconds? The prices on the appetizers are high, but that's only because they make everything fresh. I would not hesitate to come again. If you're looking for a low key, off Main Street place to hang out and enjoy a cold pint with some comfort food, Reese's 1900 is your place. This place has a cozy old school pub vibe. It's not intimidating in any aspect and instead is very inviting and they make you feel apart of the family. The menu features a lot of classic comforts: burgers, fish and chips, and an array of sandwiches. Portions are very generous. One of our absolute favorites is the Shepard's Pie; pair it with an ice cold beer and you are good to go. There aren't a lot of appetizers, so we don't usually order any, but it would be nice to see a couple more added for variety. read more

My disabled mother ate here the other day and the intoxicated owner at the time, joe palmeri took her wheelchair/crutch needed to get around and put it outside! He believed it was in the way of staff but had absolutely no right to move any of it without anyones knowledge and would have stranded her if she didn't have help. Even with Patchouge town getting to be a big player in the food and beverage industry and has restaurants coming in and out. Reeses has been here through it all and no matter what new hip restaurant comes into town, Reese's 1900 still has the best burgers in town. Not to mention their chilli is a personal favorite. I get a 1900 burger with chedder and bacon and put chilli on it too. Other favorites are the fried shrimp and the French onion soup. Since it's not on the main strip, many people pass it by, but the locals have kept this place alive for a great reason. Come here for an affordable, quiet dinner or lunch. read more

The blue cheese was some fake liquid cheese. Maybe a cheap dressing instead of cheese. Bare naked tiny burger. No lettuce or tomato. In America, that's automatic and I wasn't asked if I wanted any. You seriously want a reputation for burgers? Not like this! Waiter took a cigarette break and didn't wash his hands. Bought us napkins which then smelled like smoke. Water then proceeded to organize the silverware for the restaurant with his dirty hands. My mother has been telling me to go here for the longest. First as soon as you walk in you're greeted by someone and we sat immediately. We went at 3, so there was only a few tables with people at them, if you go after work apparently you can wait for a table. The place is cozy! Anyway, I ordered a pastrami sandwich. Mom got the Reuben. This sandwich was so good!! One of the best I have had! It was so tender and the rye bread was so fresh! Mom loved her Reuben, it's what she always gets there! They didn't serve it with malt vinegar which should be available at an Irish joint. The place is small and gets pretty crowded. It's dark, traditional and loud. Not impressed! I've been passing this place ever since I was a kid and finally decided after many years of passing by, to stop in. The Yelp reviews were a big part of the reason that decided to give it a try. Anyway, I ordered the steak sandwich which comes on garlic toast, with fried onions and melted mozzarella. All throughout the meal I tasted an overpowering flavor that I couldn't place. When I got to the end of my meal I took the meat off of the sandwich and tasted the garlic toast by itself, then it hit me... Rosemary! Too much, too strong and just not needed. It completely ruined it for me. In addition, my daughter ordered a steak dinner and it was way over salted. Not a good meal in my opinion and I will not be returning. Also it was so dark in there that I had to pull out a flashlight just to see the menu. That always makes me suspicious. read more

Lunch today at Reeses 1900 in Patchogue. I have driven past this place for over 20 years and today we stopped in. It is a small, quaint spot on Ocean Avenue north of Main Street. French Onion soup was good, but a little lean, Lobster Bisque was flavorful with noticeable pieces of diced lobster in it. Appetizer special of the day Baked clams were far too bready and lacking any clam or clam flavor. They seemed overly seasoned with Old Bay. Corned beef sandwich, meat was plentiful but far too thin and dry. Also needed a sturdier rye bread as it fell apart. On a much brighter note, the Burger was delicious, exactly as ordered, the sides of coleslaw and fries were tasty as well. I'd stop by again for a Burger sometime. read more
