Signature No 3 Garlic Miso Ramen
Chelsyea M.

AMAZING!!!! I have been in search for a top tier ramen spot with rich broth, noodles, etc and this is it! Ordered the signature dish with garlic miso + spice. Absolutely lovely! No crumbs left! Definitely will be returning!! So happy yelp recommended this restaurant.

So delicious! They were able to seat us quite quickly on a rainy cold day, perfect vibes for the weather. Super friendly staff and the food came out pretty quick. So many amazing vegetarian options, I got the yuzu sesame ramen which I loved. My favorite was definitely the red hot miso. Will definitely be back again!

We enjoyed our food here, but we left disappointed, because it didn't live up to the hype. It sounds like this is the best vegan ramen in Boston, but New York has dozens of great ramen spots, most of which have a great vegan option. It's great to see how different restaurants creatively combine meat substitutes and vegetables to create an appealing vegan bowl. At RedWhite, there are six ramen choices made with different broths but disappointingly all the same toppings. We expected more fun variety, like different vegetable or tofu options. But all the bowls come out looking the same. We were also confused that their signature feature, infusing the bowl with smoke, was not included. The price bumps from $19.95 to $24.95(!!) to get it smoked and with 3 dumplings on top. (In comparison, the Boston location charges $17.95 for the basic version and $18.95 to add smoke.) It felt like a lot to pay $25 for a bowl of ramen that doesn't even come with table service. Also, I don't understand why the ramen options are called numbers 3, 5, 7, 8, 9, and 10. Is that how people count in Boston? After navigating the confusing ordering system and filling up our tiny plastic cups from the self service water keg, we were pleased to find that the ramen was quite tasty. The red hot miso was decently spicy and had a pleasantly thick broth. The noodles were also great. The alfalfa sprouts, arugula, and corn felt low effort. How about some mushrooms or kabocha squash? The Japanese curry broth was enjoyable. The spicy roasted miso avocado roll was surprisingly good for essentially being hot guacamole over rice (though it wasn't spicy at all). Overall, they are serving tasty but overpriced and overrated bowls of ramen with few options to customize the bowl, so I'm not sure how often I would come back.

I'm deeply picky about ramen, so much so that there are only two other places in the city where I'll go, and this might actually compete with my #1. I've tried every vegan ramen in the city and the red hot miso here is notably rich, savory, and flavorful with perfect noodles and a good variety of toppings. It could be spicier but it's got a decent kick to it and is otherwise a nearly 10/10 bowl of ramen that won't set your mouth on fire. A lot of ramen places fall short with watery broths that lack complexity- this isn't one of them. I can't recommend it enough. The service is quick and pleasant too. They've just opened so let's keep this place in business and not let it tank like all of the other great vegan options in the city.

One of the best ramen spot ever :) The broth, the noodles, the taste, is exquisite mhmmm 10/10 must come back again!

Broth was light and flavorful. Not sure if it's every Ichiran since this is the first one we were went to but we had to peel our own egg. Kinda threw me off. Nonetheless the egg was soft boiled, wished it was also marinated though.

Although we got here around 10:30 pm, there was a long line, but they offered take out and yes we did! Just like Japan, you'll get to choose: Noodle texture (I recommend firm) Original spicy red sauce level (I prefer mild) Garlic amount (extra garlic) Richness level (I like rich) Seasoning strength (dashi/saltiness level - I like less salt) Scallions (yes/no - it's a yes for me) Chashu (sliced pork, yes please!) Ichiran is a specialty ramen known for its tonkotsu broth, rich and savory. You can't go wrong coming here and if you haven't been, you have to try it! I promise you, it is life changing. Rich, savory and super comforting. Tip: don't overthink your options on the first visit, you'll be back again and again and customize it to be better than your last experience. We started with the pork belly appetizer which was recommended and stated on the menu indicating it's their featured dish. It was the biggest disappointment as it was extremely fatty with large chunks of fat, while the lean portions were dry. It didn't look very appetizing. The dumplings were just okay--they had decent flavor but I was hoping for a crispier texture. I ordered the Zebra Ramen. The noodles were cooked perfectly al dente, but the broth was much saltier than I would have preferred. The pat of butter felt unnecessary and made the broth overly rich without adding much depth. The chashu was on the small side and also quite fatty and I assume it's the same as the appetizer but was sliced instead of in large chunks. The marinated egg had good flavor, although the yolk was a little more cooked than I typically like. Another thing is the pork belly appetizer came with an egg. I wish the server would tell us so we didn't have to add it to our ramen with an extra charge. The nori was also completely soggy by the time it reached our table. Overall, the noodles were the only highlight of the meal and the rest were very underwhelming. It's definitely not a place I would recommend.
