3.5/5 Three stars, because honestly, the Ramen was just all right for the price point. The noodles were thick and chewy which some might prefer, but there was nothing standout. I'm surprised there was a line outside, but it's a very small shop and it's in a very touristy area. The line moved quickly. The extra .5 comes from the veggie gyoza & the fun ambience. It's a tight space though so best to come in a pair and not a place to loiter.

Probably one of the best ramens I've ever had, the service was great, prices were reasonable and the place is gorgeous! We originally were going to go to another popular midtown ramen spot but the line was too long. So glad we landed here! Highly recommend!

Eleventeen stars for Kin Ramen. Everytime we come to NYC we make it there. Amazing service and even more amazing food. The place gets busy. The place is smol. The taste is big. It's hotter than ballz downstairs but you will live every minute. Highly recommended.

If you love Ramen ...this is the place to visit. It was like we died and went to Ramen heaven. Took me back to my days in Thailand. Numerous menu items to satisfy any Ramen pallet. We had a bit of a wait to be seated ...they did not take reservations It was rather chilly outside and they do not have a sizeable waiting area. Pack your patience. They have a upper and lower floor. We were seated on the upper floor. My preference was the upper floor, the lower floor appeared to be a tight fit. Once seated the food came quickly and was absolutely perfect. The food coupled with the excellent service made it a fantastic dinner outing. Staff and other were very friendly with us striking up a conversation with folks at other tables.

My review is only about the Spicy Kin Ramen. I can't really give it more than 3 stars because although the quality of the broth was high, it came in a small bowl and was not satisfying. There were two very thin slices of pork and very little broth. I usually struggle to finish a ramen, but this time it was over in a few minutes. This place is so popular you need to show up at 4:30p if you don't want to wait outside in the cold. However, I don't think it's worth the wait, since for $22 they could easily up the embarrassing serving size.

Spicy Pork Ramen was delectable. The best broth my partner has ever had he said!

Amazing ramen, broth is to die for. Portions are typical size and soaring in quality. And while there was a line to get in it moved fast (~15 minutes for 2 on a busy Sat PM). The service was top notch. The ambience was tight but very cute. Can't recommend too much!

Pretty busy restaurant but they have a second level that is accessible from outside so it's not a crazy long wait. Would say the food is kind of expensive for what you get and none of the waitresses were Japanese but I really enjoyed the atmosphere. The kirei jelly drink was super interesting and actually kind of boozy. Thought it was an interesting drink with the jelly texture.

I stayed at a hotel next door for a few weeks and noticed there was always a line outside Kin Ramen, pretty much every single day. That alone told me it had to be good. I finally made time to go right after they opened for lunch on a Friday... and yep, there were already people lining up. I grabbed a seat at the bar. The place is small but cozy, with really cool decor, and I was immediately greeted by their friendly staff. I started with the cucumber salad, then went for the Shio Truffle Ramen since I wasn't in the mood for a heavy pork broth and wanted to try something a little different. It was recommended by the bartender, and he nailed it. The Shio Truffle Ramen has a homemade chicken broth, chicken chashu, half ajitama, bean sprouts, menma, nori, shiso, and truffle paste, and wow, SO good. Flavorful, comforting, and not too heavy. They also have a pretty broad menu beyond ramen, including don, poke, many appetizers and rice bowls, as well as a full bar. I'm so glad I made time to stop by before leaving NYC. This place definitely made it onto my list of favorite ramen spots in the city.

Super fun ramen spot conveniently located in Midtown East. Came here on a weeknight around 8:30 and the place was packed, but we were luckily able to find a seat upstairs (the dining room is split into two levels). It's very cozy, the menu is anime themed which is really fun, it reads like a comic book. Upon learning that they offered a Meowjito (exactly as it sounds - a mojito served in a cat shaped glass) I had to have it, and it did not disappoint. I took a gamble and ordered one of their ramen specialties on the seasonal menu items (I unfortunately forgot the name) but it was creamy and made with coconut broth. It was good, but not as rich as I was hoping. Service was friendly and on point, though. I would come back and try something new for sure.

This is my go to place every time I'm in town. The location is super convenient (next to Thompson). It's a small, cozy space that makes you feel like you're in Japan. The staff is very efficient and fast. I get the soy vegan ramen every time and it's consistently good, the broth is more of a creamy broth which is very different from regular ramen broth. If you like spicy, I would 100% get the spicy sauce and oil.

A friend and I randomly came here before seeing Alvin Ailey at City Center. I was taken aback by the line when I arrived at 5:30 on a Friday but I figured that meant the ramen was good. The line moved quickly enough someone came out to see the size of all of the parties and we were sat by party size and availability as well as when we arrived. Once inside, it's small but they use the space well. There was also a good playlist going which was nice. My friend and I both had the seafood ramen. It came out quickly and it was very good. Nice flavor and it wasn't too salty which I'm always concerned about when it comes to ramen. I also had their version of a margarita which was also very very good.

Saw it rated highly on Google and we happened to be in Midtown. From the pictures, it looks nice, and well decorated but we came for a Sunday lunch and they were playing 160 bpm nightcore Hatsune Miku music. It was hard to enjoy everything, and to talk over the loud music. Space is also extremely tight, which I am used to in Manhattan, but when I sat upright and moved my arm I was practically seated back to back to another customer. I feel bad for the workers who have to scoot between sweats. Workers and service were great tho! Some of the ramen were okay: - Kin Ramen (4.5/5): the best of the 3 we ordered.. it's the signature for a reason! Hearty tonkotsu broth that the thin noodles grab so easily on to. My personal preference is thicker noodles, but other than that, p yummy - Vegan Ramen (2/5): interesting frothy broth and thicker soupy texture, but so so bland? It literally tastes like raw tofu - Chicken Ramen (3/5): hits the spot with the chewy thicker noodles, but I would skip the spice so you can taste the chicken broth I dunno if I would visit again, but these are p aesthetically pleasing bowls

I've been to the Ichiran in East Williamsburg but found this location to be more hectic and touristy, naturally. You order on a tablet, pay (no tip), and then are directed to a seat by a welcoming host. Poor guy must have to repeat the same spiel a billion times a day. I just defaulted to Ichiran's suggested levels for everything which made it fast and easy. Once you're at your assigned cubbyhole, you can hang your coat up on the wall behind you and fill up your water cup at the machine also behind you. You don't even see the face of the person who brings out the ramen which gives the whole process a mysterious bank teller vibe. With all this, the classic tonkotsu ramen ($23) with slender noodles nearly gets overshadowed, but don't fret since it's fantastic. I believe when you're done, you just get up and leave. Surprisingly, one of the instructional posters does not go into this.

When you walk into the restaurant, you pre-order at the touchscreen to the right of the entrance and later when you're seated you give the order receipts to the server at your window. The food at this location is obviously going to be pricier than it is in Japan (came out to around $60 for 2 people), but it is SO worth it as you can't get Ichiran anywhere else besides in Japan.

The gyoza was cooked very nicely, came sizzling and the bun with meat was a little ugly, it looked boiled and unappetizing. The taste was just okay. The topping on it was notable. The waitress didn't help us at all when ordering. We weren't bowled over with the food, although it was noted the meat in the ramen was high level. For a restaurant, especially one serving customizable ramen dishes, with a allergy list post on the wall by the counter where I sat at B1, a little flexibility or empathy toward food allergies would go a long way. The interaction felt dismissive and unwelcoming, which made the overall dining experience uncomfortable. Customer service matters just as much as the food, and sadly this visit fell short. The smashed cucumber was good. Spicy dumpling was good. Ramen broth was light, not as rich or flavorful as others. There are so many good ramen places in NYC, this Chinese Ramen place has lot of room to improve.
