Late night in SoHo... when most people are sleeping, I'm out here making serious ramen decisions Walked into Kyuramen and got seated faster than I can decide what to watch on Netflix. Food came out quick too -- always a good sign when you're hungry enough to consider eating the menu. First up: the Yinyang Bowl. Two ramens. One bowl. Tonkotsu Shoyu + Sapporo Miso... basically the ramen version of having your cake and eating it too. Loaded with braised pork, chashu, shrimp tempura, marinated egg, bamboo shoots, corn, zucchini, scallions... this bowl had more going on than my group chat. Pro tip: get it mild/spicy. That little kick? Home run. No notes. Then came the Omurice... cooked perfectly. Fluffy eggs, rich flavor, and honestly you can't lose with either curry or demi glaze. I sat there like... "I came for ramen... now I'm emotionally attached to eggs." Atmosphere was great too -- cozy, warm, and perfect for late-night food missions. Quiet enough to relax... but lively enough to remind you you're in SoHo. Late night ramen hits different. And Kyuramen? Definitely worth losing sleep over.

This place is super cute and super efficient. Nothing better than a weekend place that makes sure to get people in and out. I already love this brand of ramen but this spot in particular is nice because of the location. Lively people and amazing options all around. The food is spot on! Cooked to perfection. I love that the staff made exceptions to specific things we wanted in our ramen. I also loved that each table had an outlet because you never know when you're in need of a charger. This might be my favorite location now.

I get that they are a high volume spot. But they need to clean their plastic tabletop signage more regularly: There was alot of crud at the base of the advertisement about their ramen bowl contest. (Winners happen several times a week I was told by a server but do the math: The odds come down to a 1 percent chance of winning anything.) Yum-wise I'd appreciate an expansion of the vegetarian offerings. We are in the East Village for heaven's sakes! The skewers are kewl but my Japanese parents would *NOT* be cool with all the sauce and oil all over the handles-- this is where Kyu belies their Chinese ownership (why not just stir-fry?) No criticism in the servers. They are perfection.
I got the vegetable miso ramen (vegetarian) and it was just ok. Not the most flavorful broth but the quantity was pretty generous! Overall, as a vegetarian, I'd probably pass on this place.

I was craving omurice and saw Kuyramen had it on the menu so I headed there for early lunch. No wait and half empty restaurant, it was great. I was seated at the counter and given two menus - one for food, another for drinks. The server lacked interest in his job and overall courtesy skills. He kept grabbing things from under my hands and I felt rushed. Omurice was only offered as a combo with a drink. You can't order it on its own so I had to get a lemonade with my order which was too sweet and didn't even go with the omurice dish.. Weird!! I chose the plain omurice with curry. You can also get it with pork tonkatsu on top and with a Demi glace sauce instead of curry. The curry sauce was delicious and a little spicy kick. Overall very filling and tasty. I'm glad I didn't get pork..it would have been too much food for me.
Smaller version of the one we went to in Wichita, and at lunch they don't have the same lunch special as the one in Wichita, unfortunately. (for the price of a ramen in Wichita, you get ramen + small app + thai iced tea). The menu otherwise is mostly the same here, a small wall with drawings on the little bamboo hanging tokens, and egg surcharges as a note on the entry due to the cost of eggs.

Like yeah, there was a bit of spiciness to it but that didn't really enhance the flavor profile. Even my friend who went with me thought the ramen was mid. However, the appetizers we got were pretty yummy! We got their gyoza, spring rolls, and takoyaki and I have no complaints for those dishes. The thai iced tea didn't taste authentic so that was a letdown. Would I come here again? Maybe. My friends have said positive things about their omurice and I would love to try that.

Delicious! They even have a button for service and everything arrived so fast! Such a cute dining experience we were tucked away in our own private booth. Definitely will be coming back here. I got the classic tonkatsu ramen, popcorn chicken, dumplings, and edamame.
Great yummy ramen noodle. The tonkotsu ramen with black garlic is a must try. They are very understanding and service was very quick. Great casual ambiance and clean.

Popped in here for the first time on my way home from an appointment and I was not disappointed. It was a Monday afternoon so it wasn't crowded, but they did have a good flow of customers. I was greeted and seated immediately, given time to look at the menu and once I ordered, my food came pretty quickly. I ordered Combo C and it was DELICIOUS. Just try some new menu items at Kyuramen and it was so good. They now have the Ying Yang bowl which has 2 different flavors in one bowl. The honeycomb platter is simply stunning . It's so beautiful. A casual restaurant for tonkatsu omurice in the city. I got the pork tonkatsu omurice combo, which came with the omurice, tonkatsu, and thai iced tea. The omelette was soft and fluffy, but the fried rice was a little lukewarm. Tonkatsu tasted premade, but it was still okay. Thai iced tea was on the sweeter side. Takoyaki was pretty standard. Ramen is delicious, filling for a relatively reasonable price. Classical aesthetic, feels very homey, enjoy sitting at either the bar or the table. They stopped serving the salt and pepper corn, and that is the sole reason I wouldn't consider it 5 stars. That was my favorite side and I consider its removal a travesty. Came here after a concert at Irving plaza to grab a bite and unwind and the ramen hit the spot! I got the mega ramen and the shrimp tempura in the miso broth was the perfect combination of flavors with the savory broth! We also split a pork bao which was perfectly made with a fluffy light bao and fall-apart tender pork. Service was fast and I'd definitely come back here again. The restaurant looks bigger than it is. There are also booths in the back. The menu is overwhelming. I went in expecting to have ramen and I ordered their Soft Shell Crab Rice Burger instead. The dish says it has Cucumber, Nori, Mixed Greens and Mayo. I don't generally care for mayo based condiments but this was good and it was just enough where it didn't distract from the star of the dish, the fried soft shell crab. I wish the "rice burger' part of the dish was crispy. That would have made it easier to eat and I feel would have made a better taste profile. You get plastic gloves w/ this dish. I tried to eat it w/ the gloves but gave up and used utensils. If you look at the picture of the Spicy Chili Smashed Cucumber on the menu and what I got, you can see it's slightly different. I was expecting a more Korean version of this dish. It was meh. I wouldn't order this again. My husband's ramen was pretty good. The vegetable broth was tasty. Next time I will go for the ramen. Note: There's only 1 rest room w/ no baby changing station. There was a woman w/ a child who ended up coming out after people were lined up knocking on the door and when it was finally my time to go into the rest room, I got why. Fan-f*ckin-tastic. After years of only watching the infamous omurice action in animes, Kyuramen made my wish come true iRL. I ordered Omurice Tonkatsu (Demi glazed) with Thai Tea and danced in my seat with every single bite. The omurice had corn, meat, and onions inside for those who are curious . The decor was top tier ( book a private room for a more intimate vibe) and the Thai tea was served in the cutest cups . Came here to try the omurice and only that, but also added on a lobster chashu balls as appetizers. Honestly, a fantastic value meal. 2 omurice (one with pork katsu) + the appetizer + 2 drinks came out to a little less than $75 after tax and tip. The service was also really quick; the dishes came out extremely quick, but the order was a bit weird (omurice, then appetizer, then omurice). Demiglace omurice (4/5): This was my favorite... demiglace is the omurice you should get if you could only try one. The sauce was hearty, beefy and savory, and the egg was cooked to perfection and extremely fluffy. My only complaint is the rice is a bit bland and could have had more meat. It was very one dimensional and lowkey tasted microwaved. Curry omurice w/ pork katsu (2/5): Same comment about the rice, but the curry sauce was NOT it. It tasted a lot worse than store bought curry -- flavorless and one dimensional. It also does not pair well with the egg, and has a spice that does not complement the dish. Pork katsu was also not fantastic. Lobster Chashu Ball (3.5/5): This appetizer was good in that it was super refreshing! Its cold meat stuffed inside a thin shell, and it's fun to eat; nothing out of the world though. Drinks were a bit sweet, especially the thai iced tea. Overall, glad I came and tried the omurice, but not sure I would come again. read more

Cute spot, be sure to make a reservation! Loved that they had private tables in the back (although not very soundproof). I was worried they wouldn't have omurice since I didn't see any recent photos on here, but can confirm they have it! The omurice took a bit longer than the rest of our food, but the beauty of the eggo speaks for itself. Fluffy and perfectly half-cooked like I hoped it be. Flavor-wise, however, I thought the dish was good but not spectacular. The rice under the egg is not super flavorful, and curry is not as dimensional or tasty as I'd hoped. The dish is quite large though and very filling (I ate it for two meals). Also special shoutout to the "amazing lemonade". I didn't expect anything (you have to order either a lemonade or thai iced tea with the omurice as a combo), but the cucumber + lemon flavors were great and paired so well with my omurice. Well, let's put it this way - their franchising location is in Flushing/College point within T-Baar's offices (a bubble tea chain). They are Chinese franchisees off a Taiwanese noodle chain.
Are they able to set tables larger then 4 people?
Yeah is 1) you seat yourselves at the long side of the bar or 2) you go when it's less busy. I can't imagine them turning anyone away.
Is this place halal?
Let's see...they put pork in their ramen noodles, serves sake and are not on Zabidah. Gonna take a stab in the dark and say....no.
