Charged $1000 to replace a basic kitchen faucet (nothing fancy). I was under time pressure so paid for it.

This was my second opinion. My first opinion came out, inspected the system, checked out the fan in the back, spent an hour filling out a checklist, and came back and told me it would be a $4,700 repair. Given the life of the system, we should just get a new one... which would probably be $7-8k if not more. And they promised to send out more people to give us that quote. Before we got that quote, we called Reddick & Sons. Their guy came out, took a quick look, diagnosed the problem, and said he could fix it for $200 and install an extra part for $400 to keep it from happening again. Took him as much time as the other guys and he was done and off. He was quick, efficient, friendly, and didn't cost me a mortgage payment on the way out. Now we have a working system and we can start planning for the future. Worst part about those first guys is they're probably right. We probably will need a new system sooner rather than later. Unfortunately they won't be the ones getting that business when the time comes. read more

Price was appropriate and workers were friendly, but they made a mess of my HVAC system when they reinstalled it; bad vent joins that leak air and they reinstalled my HVAC incorrectly, leaving a 1.5 inch gap on the bottom of a downflow system so all of the hot or cold air was coming out at the unit's location instead of going into the vents. They did tape up the gap, but badly; it came loose in about 2 weeks which is how I found out about it. In addition, the condensation outflow was not reinstalled with the proper tilt, resulting in slow drainage that could have resulted in damage to the system if I didn't catch it when I did. Also, the sealant used on the mounting box was applied incorrectly, resulting in even more places for air to leak out of the system, resulting in decreased system delivery pressure and overworking my unit. I now have to pay someone else AGAIN to reinstall my unit correctly. I paid good money in good faith...Do NOT recommend. EDIT: Shortly after posting this review, Reddick and Sons reached out to me to discuss the issues with my HVAC system. While I have already made alternate arrangements, their willingness to discuss the issue is definitely a point in their favor; I will change my review score positively to reflect this. read more

My house had a backup in the basement shower pan. Reddick dispatched a plumber to snake the cleanout in the basement to dislodge the obstruction. The plumber showed up on time and snaked the drain quickly. I asked about scheduling a follow up for a camera to be placed down the sewer since the original cast iron pipe is almost 65 years old. The camera revealed significant corrosion, so I went forward to replace the original cast iron main sewer line with about 80 feet of PVC. The work was scheduled the following week. Reddick again dispatched a team that showed up on time, jackhammered the concrete in the basement, removed the toilet and laundry sink to access the sewer pipes, and used a backhoe to dig out the yard to the street. Throughout the process, I was kept informed with texts or brief discussions on site. The crew was careful to dismantle a few wooden fence panels to get the backhoe into the yard. They also carefully removed a young tree including the root ball that was in the way. The plumber also replaced the old valves to the laundry room sink with quarter turn valves. Reddick handled the county inspection process in a professional and efficient manner. Without going into details, the inspector was not as well versed in the codes as the Reddick plumber. I really appreciate how they handled the inspection process to alleviate stress and keep the project on track. After the inspection was completed successfully, the team backfilled with dirt in the yard, covered the bare dirt with straw, and replanted my tree. Inside the house, they patched the areas that had been jackhammered with a new concrete. The areas were swept, and all debris was removed. Throughout the work, they used plastic tarps to protect my washer/dryer and closed the basement door so dust wouldn't travel to other areas of the house. Final step was to reconnect the toilet and laundry sink. This was done in about half an hour to close the project. After the plumber left, I noticed the hot water was coming out of the faucet very weakly compared to the cold water. The Reddick plumber returned the same day to examine the faucet and found a small piece of rubber that had broken off from the old seal and was sitting in the valve impeding the hot water flow. This type of customer service is outstanding. I've worked with a variety of contractors to renovate all areas of the homes I've lived in over the past 20 years and the Reddick team has to be among the best. I highly recommend Reddick. read more

Mark did a great job on our plumbing issues. He was courteous, very fast, and very effective. He also answered all my questions. We had a plumber from a handyman service come over the summer and he said that we would need to replace our toilets if the problems occurred again. Fortunately, Mark explained it wasn't necessary and was able to replace the parts that the handyman/plumber couldn't. Mark spent less than an hour and much of that time was just to grab or return tools and buckets. I recommend Reddick & Sons wholeheartedly. read more

I had two household projects: replacing our AC, coil, and thermostat, and installing a plug-in hybrid electric vehicle (PHEV) charger in our garage. After talking to three companies, Reddick had the most competitive AC quote, and after talking to two electricians, Reddick's quote was slightly more expensive but they came out to the house to assess the situation, which gave me more confidence. With respect to both projects, they were extremely responsive, professional, and respectful of my home and my family. The two technicians who spent all day upgrading my AC system went above and beyond by responding appropriately to my very curious young son who wanted to know what they were doing when he came home. When an issue arose with wiring the smart thermostat I wanted, they installed a temporary digital thermostat and came back two days later to diagnose the issue and install the one I wanted. And as to the PHEV charger, they managed to run the appropriate wiring from the utility room on one side of the house to the garage on the other with functionally zero damage to my drywall, and the PHEV charger looks outstanding on my garage wall. Overall, I have been extremely impressed with Reddick and would recommend them to those on this site. read more

BEWARE OF THIS COMPANY. I hired them for an AC tune-up last year and they ended up scamming me. The technician pretended to do work and took advantage of the fact that I was busy taking care of my newborn son. He recommended a full cleaning, which I agreed to at the time basing my trust on their 5 star Yelp review. It turns out it was all smoke and mirrors because a few weeks later a friend of mine, who is also an HVAC tech, came over and noticed my AC was filthy. I told him that I just had it cleaned and even paid a premium for it. He ended up opening the unit and showed me that it was never cleaned and probably hosed down at best. I took pictures and emailed them directly to the company and they had the audacity to tell me it needed to be "reviewed". What part of the picture needed to be reviewed?! At the end of the day they refunded me for the cleaning but no the tune up, which I know for a fact was also not done. Please think twice before hiring this company. Was having an issue with my HVAC, the outdoor unit fan would not come on during sub 30 degree weather and the unit would not heat the house as it should. Called Reddick and Sons and a tech was at our home the next day(Friday). The tech (Steven K.) came out and quickly diagnosed the issue with the outdoor unit (losing pressure due a hole in the coolant system). Could repair the system that day but we agreed he could return on Monday. Steven was prompt on Monday morning and partially had to drain the refrigerant from the system, make the repair and replace the refrigerant. System was tested, heat was restored and wife was happy. Reasonably priced but I would have paid more just to have my wife warm and happy. Recommend Riddick and Sons for your HVAC needs and concerns. read more

We hired this company to replace the heating system for my mom's (who is elderly) house. I spoke to one of their sales tech Matthew and he claimed they were booked until Christmas Eve, but since we needed this heating urgently, he said he can move up the date for an extra $2000. The techs came over to the house today and tried to replace the system, but couldn't get it working, so my mom is again without heat for an additional night. They didn't even bother to text or email me about what went wrong. We would have been fine with paying that extra money had my mom got an actual working heating system. After the work was done, they refuse to honor a 5 year labor warranty in which now they claimed was only for parts, despite Matthew saying he would match a competitor's 5 years labor warranty. When I asked the manager where was the document that had all of this in writing prior to the work being done, he admits there was none. If you want to work with this company, I recommend getting the estimate in writing up front before any work is done, otherwise they won't keep their words. read more

Second time Will has stopped by to do a job, friendly, great customer service and very technical... first time my home had a leak in the ceiling and if you know, they can be tricky and he tried every avenue to not have to cut a hole on the wall and when he realized he had to, he did the minimal and to cut only once... he was right and no issues since (been like half a year). They don't have the cheapest prices (though competitive priced in many jobs) but they are far from the highest and their quality of work is worth the price, you know the job will be done right the first time. I needed a replacement 50 gallon Power Vent gas hot water heater. The tech from Reddick & Sons arrived late and with a chip on his shoulder. In the literal 1-2 minutes he spent in my basement, he started by going on and on that my hot water heater failed because it wasn't vented properly. There should be 2 vents and not one and that's definitely why it failed. I told him the vent motor was replaced 2 years ago and he kept harping on and on about how it failed because of that. When actually - that 26 year old hot water heater hadn't even failed, it was rusting through at the bottom causing it to leak. And actually, he was describing a Power Direct Vent unit - which mine wasn't. Mine was Power Vent - big difference. He left and sent a quote that was well over $1000 more than the highest of 6 other quotes I had received. So, he not only wanted to charge a premium, he didn't even know what he was talking about. If you don't know the difference between a power direct vent and a power vent - you don't get to charge a premium for being a bad plumber. The owner called back later after I gave a 1 star review to their email about the service. He said he'd look into it and I never heard from him again. What a joke these folks are. I got a new water heater, the right one, installed the next day by a knowledgeable and professional team. 9-29-23 In response to the owner's response - I told them I'd like to make a decision that night. I did NOT say immediately. They also did not give any "extra" discounts as stated in their response, other than a Veteran discount, which was in the original over $1000 higher than anyone else pricing. Their response is dishonest and misleading. I support small businesses, but don't lie about a bad review to make yourself try and look better. My review was about them sending a plumber, with a bad attitude, who didn't know what the difference is between a power vent and a power direct vent - and who gave me attitude about it - and then wanted to charge me a buttload of money - for something that he had zero clue about what he was doing. Regardless if the "owner called me after hours" (6PM mind you). They sent a kid, with zero knowledge and a shitty attitude to try and gouge me thinking I was desperate. Reddick & Sons are hands down, the best. Our 10-year-old HVAC unit went in our newly purchased home during one of the hottest weeks of the summer. I wasn't impressed with the first company we had come out and troubleshoot, so decided to get a few quotes from different companies on a full unit replacement. Mike came to the house for the estimate. Called to let us know when he was 30-minutes out. Not only was he extremely knowledgeable he was able to breakdown our problem, what we needed, and how his team would manage our project. Our meeting with Mike really sealed the deal for us (and we hadn't even received the quote yet). The other companies we quoted didn't come close to the same level of communication and detail. I felt really good about Reddick & Sons at this point. Their quote was within the range we believed was reasonable based off our research and they even working with us on pricing a bit. We know they didn't have to do this, but it really went a long way with us. After we scheduled the install with their front desk team, Daniel came out for measurements a few days prior to install. He also called 30-minutes prior to arrival so we had a heads-up. We told him that our HOA had unexpectedly scheduled paving to be done on the parking lot in front of our house on install day, meaning road access would be closed. He told us they would find a way, and seemed genuinely concerned that we needed to get AC in the house. He showed us exactly what would need to be done, what he would do if it was "his home" and left us feeling even more confident. We got a call from the front office the next day to see if it was possible for someone to drop off the new units the day before install to avoid the parking lot closure. We of course said yes, anything to avoid having to reschedule! The gentleman that delivered the unit moved quick and efficiently. On installation day the crew showed up around 8:30 a.m. All three of them worked non-stop for over 8-hours to get our new unit installed. Their attention to detail and communication with us was fantastic. We spoke with/interacted with more than 6 people on their team and every single person was friendly, understanding, overly communicative, and just good people. Pricing was very fair. Quality of work exceeded expectations. I can't say enough about our experience with this team. Knowing that they also handle electric and plumbing, I can promise you we won't use any other service provider so long as we live in their service area. Would highly recommend! read more

I had a stubborn issue with my A/C system not producing cool air. It was pretty bad, I lived for over a month in a home that never reached below 80 degrees inside. In the dead of summer. I was intimidated not only by the potential expenses of resolving this, but there's always that fear that a professional will take advantage of your naïveté and desperation. But once my thermostat hit 89 degrees, fear couldn't hold me back anymore. So I called Reddick & Sons. It took a few service appointments to get it resolved once-and-for-all. Maybe that could've made for a frustrating experience, however, the professionalism, integrity, and speedy responsiveness of this company made all the difference for me, personally. Each time I called, the person answering was always so sympathetic and a technician came out the same day within the promised time window. Matt was the technician that assisted me all the way through. Matt was trustworthy, communicated clearly, and worked with diligence to diagnose and address my problem. He cleaned the evaporator coil for the indoor unit, and found and fixed the leaks that were causing my issue in the outdoor unit. (A more sensitive leak detection tool was needed to find the second leak.) He also considerately showed me how to ensure my A/C system operates with improved energy efficiency.
