This was the highlight of the center of Blanco, TX. Mom and I sipped on ice lavender tea. The place was busy with locals and you could tell that they have a strong following. I love the table cloths and contemplated buying a few yards in the gift shop. Maybe they sell the oil cloth online? We sat by the window and took everything in. Then we took turns tucking in the gift shop. This is the cutest town ever! It is full of gift shops. If you are in the area visiting the Hill Country, you must see Blanco and stop in here. I wish I could have experienced the food but it took over 33 minutes after we ordered to get our food and I had to cancel my meal (medical purposes). Everyone seemed to enjoy their meal. The selection of beer looked great, especially if you like Real Ale. There is a serious fly problem at the table we sat at. Didn't ruin the experience but seriously distracting. I nearly missed this amazing place, because there were no desserts listed on the menu. That would have been a big mistake - huge! Redbud Cafe had a line of folks (as opposed to the place nearby that wouldn't even serve me!). The service was incredibly cheerful and attentive, there were plenty of choices for this vegetarian, and Redbud Cafe had much more seating. Bonus points when I saw a server bring water to the dog seated on the patio with her people. Also voted Best Margarita and Best Hamburger in BlancoTX - how can you go wrong? read more

I came here to talk about how disrespectful whomever checked out my family yesterday was. I have a 10-year-old daughter who definitely looks like she's a teenager. But she isn't and the lady taking her order yesterday, grilled her about her age over a peanut butter and jelly sandwich. To the point where her grandparents were offended by the person telling them that they all were lying. She asked multiple times her age. Everybody said that she was 10 she then asked her for her birthday which verified she was 10. Liked the live music and loved the full bar! The cocktails are expensive $16-18$ . The food wasn't anything special, had a salad and a half sandwich and i probably could have made it at home the same way. This is definitely a diner type feel , has the table cloths and large dinning area. Service was good but wasn't very busy. Very good food however my $12 breakfast sandwich (egg, provolone, spinach, pesto) seemed a bit over priced considering sides were extra. My friend had the ham sandwich which was quite a bit bigger. There was a bit of a wait but I was not surprised considering I in a small town. The bloody Mary's looked fabulous. Great lunch spot with indoor and shaded patio seating. Outdoor tables offer a view of the Blanco County courthouse and excellent people-watching opportunities. Excellent half-pound burgers on fresh specialty buns are the star of the show. My favorite is the Blanco with bacon, melted cheddar cheese and poblano pepper strips on a jalapeño sourdough bun. I also love the spicier Blaze of Glory with melted pepper jack cheese and Serrano peppers. Quiche and soup combo is an excellent value - the bacon, spinach and Swiss has a wonderfully flaky crust. this place is obviously THE place to go on sundays. although we arrived later than the after church crowd, the place was packed! although locals may know, we did not know until we were told at checkout (about a 15-20 minute wait in line to order) that our food would take 30 minutes to arrive! it ended up taking 40. both of us ordered burgers & fries. the burgers were tasty & juicy - BUT I SPECIFICALLY & EMPHATICALLY said NO MAYO! i hate mayo! my burger arrived not only WITH mayo, but an entire 1/4" thick hockey puck of it that was all over the bun, the lettuce & the burger! i had now waited an hour for my food & i had to flag down a waiter and ask for another bun. no way was i gonna wait for a total redo. place was a little pricey, but food all looked to be well prepared judging by salads & sammies at other tables. we had stopped on the way from dripping springs to san antonio. not sure if id invest the time again on a road trip. the kitchen is EXTREMELY small in relation to the seating capacity. so i dont know that food ever comes out quickly. read more

I recently picked up a to go order from here. I love quiche and hadn't had it in a long time. So I ordered it along with a side of fruit. When I got back to work and opened the sack containing my food .... I was extremely disappointed. For $11 and some change, I got a small slice of over cooked quiche, 5 grapes, 1 piece of pineapple and a couple pieces of cantaloupe. When i showed this the the manager, the response was "I'll talk to the baker " and "everything is expensive these days". Not wasting my money there again. read more

The food was ok and the service was good. The problem was that the website we checked before going was apparently old as the prices were incorrect by a large amount. Also, the website menu showed that a side order came with the sandwiches. This is not correct. The price was too high for the amount and quality of the food. I do not enjoy paying $15.00 for a simple sandwich. I can get the same (and a lot tastier and bigger) sandwich with a side at the Pecan Street Brewery in Johnson City. I have to give the Redbud a thumbs up on the variety of sandwiches. But price and quantity is a lukewarm ok. read more

The food is really good! Let's talk about it's management. It took 45 minutes to get our sandwiches. We ordered prior to 5pm on a Saturday. They were not slammed. They are mismanaged. There were 4 people in the kitchen. It appears that only one knew how to hustle. Even the kid on the register seemed untrained & slow moving. I ordered cappuccino. Cash register kid had to find someone to make it. The manager called coffee maker away in the middle of making my coffee. I could see coffee maker reading & manager typing on the computer entering someone else's order....excuse me, the customer right here in front of you waiting...could you have the courtesy to finish with me first? After the two entered info into the computer there was some relaxed chit chat until I walked over & asked for my coffee. Please train your staff on the restaurant hustle. Let them know they should be working toward serving customers & not get distracted. Learn what it means to incentivize your kitchen to get sandwiches out in 15 minutes.. a staff of 4 should be able to do that easily, easily. read more

We were in Blanco visiting some friends and Redbud was the place we stopped in for dinner on Friday night. What a gem! You order at the counter and they assign you a table. We ordered the Blaze of Glory burger, potato salad and skillet potatoes. The burger was phenomenal! Soft pillowy bun, excellent toppings, I should have gotten my own instead of splitting it. ;) The sides were great too - I just wish they might have had french fries since that's what I was craving. Omg I'm so sad that I didn't post a review as soon as I left. This place is outstanding!!! The food is amazing!!! I think I am an hour away and I will be going back for the western dip, it melted in my mouth! I relished each bite with a warmth of happiness and sadness at the same time.. I was so sad that I wouldn't have anymore left with each bite. The bread tasted like it was freshly baked for my order & the meat was so tenderly delightful. I also had a lemon snickerity or something like that, umm yeah totally worth the extra 5 pounds from the lips to the hips. ‍ Everyone was friendly and welcoming. On the square in Blanco. Old timey feel with some good burgers and sandwiches. They don't serve fries, so be prepared to order something else. I had the bacon blue cheese burger on their jalapeño bun. It was excellent! Two crispy quarter pound patties, fried onions, blue cheese and bacon. You order at the counter and they assign your table when you order. There's plenty of space, but I'm sure it fills up quickly during lunch and dinner. There's a friendly country feel. read more

We visited on a beautiful Spring weekday as people are starting to return to restaurants. Hand sanitizer station is set up right outside the entrance and at the service counter. We saw staff vigorously sanitizing tables between customers. Walk up to order from wonderful salad, sandwich, and burger options. Housemade bread varieties surround each sandwich and burger. Display case filled with handmade cheesecake, muffins, and four kinds of pancake-sized cookies! Irresistible! We ordered the Blanco Burger with home fries. The meat patty was flavorful and at least a half pound. Cooked just right. Topped with bacon, generous amount of cheese, and served on a jalapeno cheese bun. Bun was soft and delicious and actually held everything together till the last bite. We also tried the egg salad sammy on rustic white bread. Huge serving! Filled with chopped green olives and green onions that provided a slight nice tang. Very yummy. Side of delish potato salad was mild and well seasoned. We sat outside on the covered porch and enjoyed drinking lavender iced tea and hibiscus tea with our lunch. Everything was top notch! read more

Originally was going to give a 4 but because of the correction to the order I am giving a 5. I have been to the Redbud Cafe many times before. Always impressed! I come for the famous chocolate chip peanut butter cookie (military/veterans) receive a complimentary cookie that is very much appreciated) and tried a salad to go for dinner that originally I thought was a bit short on being filled. It comes with a small piece of bread and house dressing, all delicious. But when I took the piece of bread out, and the dressing and shook the salad a bit to make sure the salad was correct (supposed to have e cran raisins and pecans and blue cheese crumbles... I noticed it was not filled all the way with lettuce and spinach. At least a quarter of salad was missing. It's a great salad! I've had it before. When plated at the restaurant no issues! But with To-Go maybe a little more attention to filling the box would be appreciated to avoid a redo. It's a $15 salad I believe not including tax and just wanted the box to be filled as it should be not bare space if that makes sense. When I took it to the counter to explain to the young man that it wasn't done correctly he gave me a very confused look and had to explain myself twice. It was during the lavender festival so poor thing was probably tired and exhausted but he did correct it and loaded it up with spinach and it was more filled than before. So for that thank you for making it correctly! Much appreciated! I'll still be back and hopefully will eat the salad at the restaurant. read more

Delicious food, good service, nice selection of bakery items, in case you're wanting a tasty dessert. My only complaint would be that it can get really loud which makes it hard to carry on a conversation, especially when they start the live music. read more
