Dependable Taiwanese beef noodle soup. The spicy one is pretty hot so be prepared! Very generous with the amount of beef and size of bowl. Can't go wrong when needing that fix.
The noodles with shrimp wontons and beef were delicious. The beef rolls were good but I wished the beef in the filling wasn't cold. The salt and pepper popcorn chicken was delicious but I which it had a little more flavor to it. However, service was spotty since it took a while for the waiter to come after we finished eating the main course. On the bright side, the pudding was a delicious way to end the meal.
Stopped by for lunch on the weekend. Noodles were bouncy and the beef was nice and tender. Soup was solid. Service was quick.
Came by after a workout class and was pleasantly surprised by how tender the meat was in their original beef noodle soup. Also enjoyed that there was quick service!
We went to RedBeef noodles on a super hot Sunday afternoon 3pm. I ordered beef noodles in Chinese herbs medicine soup l, it was was tasty. Although slightly salty than my expectations, overall it was above average. We ordered curry beef rice and milk tea with grass jelly (50% less sugar) too. The food came fast and the service was great
During the pandemic, we're experiencing 4th wave. A lot of restaurants are reopen fully and not strictly follow safety protocols. Glad to see Red Beef is keep distancing on each table and checking body temperature before entering. Staffs are wearing mask. We scanned QR code for menu and tried to order via the apps. The waiter was so nice to take our order in person. We got few appetizers, boiled cabbage dumplings, deep fried squid tentacles and chicken nuggets. I ordered premium beef noodle that it poured by hot broth to poach beef cooked perfectly. My husband got spicy beef shank noodles, it's good. The service pretty attentive and effective. Staffs are friendly too. Great food and definitely come back when I craving for Taiwanese noodles
This has been on my spouse's radar for awhile, and yet something always gets in the way of us going to get her 'people's' food, until yesterday where we were running around doing errands and we finally were able to knock it down. If you are around here you know there are a lot of selections of food, that's also probably the other reason why I haven't stepped in here. Once you are here though (as I am writing this during our current Covid situation) there are tables set up in front for you to sanitize, put your name down (incase something happened at the restaurant at a certain time) and before you step into even seating your butt down you need to be temperature checked. Once you are through this part, when you get to the table there are bottles of water already set up for you. There is also a QR code at your seat, and while we wanted to order (my partner already did her homework prior to stepping in here) our server was telling us we could order from the QR.. we did not know what she meant till I tried it, and it is a very cool, pandemic ready, feature, the code they have on the side is for the table you are sitting at, and unlike other places where it is just a menu, this is interactive where you place the order right on the phone and the kitchen gets the order right away. We ordered a bowl of beef noodle with a side of beef wrap and firm tofu slices which came pretty quickly from the kitchen. The bowl of noodles was a fair size in a clean white bowl presentation. The noodles were cooked just right with a perfect firmness, and the beef, this was the star, as usually the beef slices at some other places are borderline, drier and firmer but this place seems to have it cooked just right with a tenderness I did not expect when I took the first bite. The broth was clean and washed everything down well when you put everything together. The beef wrap was another surprise as the wrapping they were using looked partially deep fried (which probably made it extra good) and every bite just went down and made you happy. In all, a place worth coming to when you have that Taiwanese beef noodle craving and now makes me think.. what else I should have ordered, but I can save that for next time as I know where I can get my fix.
The place we were trying to get into on a weekend night was full, so we ended up walking down the street to Red Beef Noodle Kitchen since we'd already paid the meter. I was pleasantly surprised with how tasty my meal from here turned out to be! I ordered the Tomato Beef Noodle Soup. (This looked to be the same as the Signature Beef Noodle Soup, but with some tomatoes cut into the soup and a tomato base/broth.) The beef tasted so good with the broth and noodle, I couldn't stop eating it. We also shared a Crispy Spicy Chicken with Rice. The chicken was fried perfectly and was packed with flavor.
Upon the lunch invitation of couple of good buddies, we decided to get together for lunch, but decided to eat healthy lol. I suggested red beef for some authentic taiwanese beef noodle soup...both immediately said "absolutely!" I ordered the house special cause i felt extra special that day...same broth and noodles but the beef was of the superior kind. Strips of lean and a bit fatty beef...i believe to be at least AAA quality...presented raw and topped on my noodles then the hot broth slowly poured into the bowl to cook the beef. The result: the beef cooked just perfectly! So good! Complimented by sweet corn and bok choy for that prefect remedy For a rainy day! Just what the dr ordered to invigorate the soul. The broth was authentic taiwanese. Simmered for hours, carefully extracting the essence of the bones and spices. So rich and pure. It was such a pleasure to slowly savour it and swirl it in my mouth like fine wine. One fo the best taiwanese beef noodle soups for sure. The noodles had the perfect bite. Both my friends agreed. One of the best for sure. For me, it rivals the one in marpole area with the black signage. ;) Service was impeccable. Free bottled water too! Will be back to sample the other entrees for sure! Cheers! Happy eating!
This place has bomb beef noodle soup the two times I have been here. I'm coming from SF, and this has the most tender beef and perfect noodles both times I've come. Staff is friendly, and the place is spacious. Give them more business! They deserve the attention.
- chicken was flavourful & juicy with a good breading ration, came with a few fried green beans which were so yummy! - premium beef noodle soup with signature broth, beef was super tender and delicious. soup was savoury and tangy, loved the pickled veggies that came on the side - substituted thick noodles which was a good fit
We came on a Friday night after work and managed to snag the last table available - however it was the weird one that's almost like it's in the middle of the usual "path" down the center of the restaurant and my boyfriend was not too happy about that. But hey, it was either that or a 20 minute wait as most tables had just started eating so he begrudgingly agreed to sit there. Service was not great, maybe because they were very busy as we didn't get waters refilled and no one checked on our table once the food arrived. The beef roll was tasty and had cucumbers instead of the green onions, which I appreciated as I'm not a huge fan of onions. We also got the spicy beef noodle soup and the clear beef noodle soup. While the spicy beef bowl was okay, I didn't really care for the clear broth as it was kind of bland. At $13 a bowl, it's not someplace I would go out of my way to go back to again. However it's a great option for the Kits area for some authentic Taiwanese food! (Kinda glad I didn't splurge on the premium beef noodle bowl :P)
I'm Taiwanese and I go to Taiwan once a year for the food (okay and to visit relatives :D). I really like to food at RedBeef! The spicy beef noodle soup is pretty legit. The big chunks of beef are so tender and amazingly flavourful. The spicy broth is awesome. Oily, yes, but awesome. Portion sizes are good and prices are great compared to what I usually pay downtown. Service is fine except that it was difficult to wave someone down to give us the bill. The desserts were mediocre so I wouldn't order those again, but I will come back for more savory dishes!
Really love the soup here. I've been around town looking for some good beef noodle soup and I would say this is my favourite restaurant for that. The broth actually has lots of flavour. Unlike many other places I feel like it's lacking. It's a bit expensive for what it is but I'm willing to pay the price. Mmmmm read more
At $19.95 it's getting pricey for a beef noodle soup but they do call it 'premium' so shouldn't complain too much right? While the meat is very tender the clear broth option is still too salty and noodles a bit too chewy for my liking. Also the rice that came with the tomate beef rice set has some burnt/overcooked rice mixed in which made for a pretty unpleasant experience. I get it most people come here for the noodles but that's not really an excuse for serving sub-par starch. read more

This is probably one of the most well-rounded place to get your Taiwanese beef noodle fix in Vancouver. Not only is the food amazing, the service is exceptional, which is fairly hard to find at Chinese restaurants here. I tried their Signature Beef Noodle and the Spicy one, both noodle bowls had broth with great depth, perfectly cooked noodles, and very tender beef. Also ordered their Taiwanese popcorn chicken and mango and smoothie and both were delicious! My expectations were set pretty high since everyone hyped this place up so much for me and it did not disappoint. I will definitely be coming back. read more

Tasty noodles, good portions, and reasonably priced. Definitely have a try if you're into beef noodle soup. On a weekday night, I was surprised that it wasn't busier. We were seated right away. I ordered the signature beef & tendon noodle soup. The soup was flavourful, but not too salty. The noodles had just enough chew to them. There were quite large chunks of beef and tendon in the noodle soup and I was worried it would be difficult to eat. However, the beef and tendon were both super tender. I also tried the wontons in chili oil. These wontons were quite large and the chili oil had the right amount of spice. My friend ordered the pan fried beef wraps and I was able to try a piece. Again, they were quite generous with the amount of beef inside the wrap. The beef was tender, however I wish the wrap had a bit more crunch. It was a bit thick and doughy, but I didn't mind it too much. Overall, I really enjoyed my meal here. Food was great along with the service. Definitely will be back for more noodle soup! read more

I'm not a Taiwanese food expert at all, in fact I am not sure if I have had it before. It may have just been Vietnamese. My overall experience here was good, but I am not so sure If I much care for Taiwanese food. The restaurant interior is very clean and tastefully decorated in a casual and funky manner. I came post gym to meet a fellow Yelper and didn't feel guilty that I was in Lulus and runners. On one side of the restaurant the walls are lined with comfy booths they look super cozy! At 1pm on Tuesday they were full, of course! We were sat at a small table, and immediately I noticed "boy those seats are cush". Huge bonus. Maybe my tush is sensitive cause I really tip my hat to a cushy spot for my backside. No hard uncomfortable chair in this joint!! Service.... well I arrived after my guest, which seemed to result in a delay in service. It didn't bother me too much because I didn't plan on ordering anything to drink. Over the lunch, the water service was as good as it gets. That glass is always full! I'm talkin' go H2Oooooooooo!!!! Our dishes were never cleared and I asked for the check before I guess they could grab them? Check was prompt and payment immediate! They do not accept Amex. Food.... I really wanted to order the Rare Beef Noodle bowl, but it was $20 and I wasn't too sure how it would compare to Pho seeing as that's what I am more used too. I decided to order Won Ton soup thinking that's a safe bet! I love won ton soup. I did get to see the neighboring table order the rare beef noodle bowl. It was a good size and came with such presentation. The server wheeled the bowl over on a cart for his presentation. Hot broth from a thermos style carafe was elegantly poured over the rare beef! We got really excited about it and as silly Elite Yelpers do, started snapping away!!! Im sure the server thought we were nutzo!! Lmao!! It looked good, served with corn, lettuce and noodles. It seems more plan than Pho. My won tons were great. Boiled to perfection and stuffed with tasty pork and veg. So yummy. The broth was a bit bland for my taste though, and the noodles were tasteless and a little on the soft side. I'm not sure if that's normal. My girl Melody said they were a wheat variety of noodle. I really didn't care for them and that seemed to be the noodle in all of the bowls. It would be cool if you could order different noodle styles, like vermicelli or egg. Maybe that's just not how the Taiwanese do it?!?!?!! The Calamari was a disappointment. Over cooked and dry, and not very flavorful. Wish it was accompanied with a dip of some kind. I kept trying to eat it but it was too much work on account of the high chew requirement! I thought I did well though lol. Plus, I be tryin' to look like a lady, and tentacles hangin' out my mouf while trying to chomp the squid in half, is just not pretty. Give this place a try, my lunch date really liked it. read more
Nice to see a Taiwanese noodle place in the busy West 4th area. This is a very authentic Taiwanese restaurant that specializes in beef noodle, and other Taiwanese dishes like 3 cup chicken and beef wrap. Came here for lunch and it was pretty busy for a Tuesday afternoon! We ordered the fried calamari and I had the Beef trio noodle consisting of brisket, tripe, and tendon. I have to say the meat was excellent. The worst thing in Taiwanese style beef noodle is undercooked, chewy meat and this was definitely not the case. The meat was tender, flavorful and you can tell that they definitely prepare their meat way in advance to achieve this kind of quality. The noodle was okay, broth was not too salty or overly seasoned with MSG which tends to be the case with other Taiwanese restaurants out there. The calamari, however, was too chewy/overcooked. Flavor was bang on, but I really had to soak them in the beef broth to soften them up to chew through. Service was fast and prompt, and the restaurant was very clean as well. I am absolutely planning on coming back to try other dishes, in particular their rice dishes and dessert options. Street parking only, but it's such a great area to walk around and spend a day in so definitely make this a lunch/dinner destination after some shopping. read more

Where do I begin, I don't even like beef. I eat beef probably once a quarter. But I have to say, objectively speaking, the restaurant is tastefully designed, spacious and cozy. Staff is super friendly, we arrived late after last call but they let us put in our order and weren't in a hurry to kick us out. Tea was filled promptly. Soup was excellent and authentic, dare I say the best of its kind in Vancouver. Portion was huge, I don't even know if they can break even considering its location. I hope they can stay in business, if you live in Vancouver it's definitely worth a try. Note they don't have a lot of vegetarian options, so you might wanna ask ahead if they can accommodate your dietary needs. read more
2.5 stars. I'm not sure what all the fuss is about, but our meal was decidedly average almost verging in 2 stars. I will admit their signature beef has some nice thick chunks of tender beef but everything else was just meh. Soup base had decent flavour but not amazing and noodles were average. The $20 "star" of the menu just looks impressive when it comes wheeled over on a silver cart and they pour the broth over top. But that's about it. It's almost comical how much soup there is in the bowl to make it look bigger. The biggest disappointment were the mushroom dumplings. They were mushy inside and lacked flavour. Definitely a pass for me. read more

Doesn't taste anywhere close to the beef noodle soup in Taiwan, but a good attempt nonetheless. I would recommend getting the house special with an extra side of hot sauce (the special sauce used to make 紅燒牛肉麵). Be wary that this is SPICY and your butt might hurt the next morning. Overall, a decent place to go and most likely the best one in town! read more

I sometimes crave for noodles other than pho and ramen, and this is where I will go. I ordered the beef and tendon soup but was charged an extra dollar to get the spicy soup base. However.. you can get a full beef or full tendon spicy soup at no charge but if you split the meats then you get charged which is a little bizzare. You get 2 pieces of each or 4 pieces of one but pay to split it? Nonetheless it was still delicious. The server also brought us a side of paste as we asked to make the broth spicier and she informed us we could it ourselves! Just a quick warning for those coming during the colder days, it is FREEEEEZING in there so bring a sweater or jacket. Most of the customers were dining with their coats on. Also parking can be a little difficult to find along the busy area but there are plenty of side streets that can be of use! read more

They seem pretty serious about their beef noodles here. Visited for lunch the last weekend. Service was friendly, efficient and polite. We ordered: Signature Beef & Tendon Noodle Soup Signature Beef & Tendon & Stomach Noodle Soup The soup noodles were good. The broth was deep and flavourful, veggies fresh, noodles fresh and springy and beef was tender. Wish I ordered the wide noodles - I've had that here in the past also and it's even better Salt & Pepper Popcorn Chicken - This was good, but I haven't really had a bad version of this dish. This was savoury, juicy and served hot. Could've been a bit more crunchy and could've used it a bit more basil. Shrimp Wontons in Chili Oil - This was a bit disappointing. It kind of tasted like shrimp dumplings in chili oil.. less Taiwanese and more Cantonese dim sum? Black tea with grass jelly - I got this half sweet half ice. The black tea was a bit too oversteeped, but the grass jelly was refreshing. Overall this is a solid place for a decent bowl of Taiwanese noodles with great service. I will be back! read more

This place is one of the best Taiwanese Beef Noodle places in Vancouver. I got the tendon beef noodle and love how soft the tendon is. The broth has deep flavour with a hint of spicy and noodles are not too hard and not too soft. read more

RedBeef is a fresh, modern beef noodle place on West 4th Avenue. When we went, it was totally empty but soon filled up. I had the Clear Premium Beef Noodle soup. The clear broth was poured by the waitress at the table in a setup that was clearly designed for Instagramming. Despite this show, the soup itself was great! The beef reminded me of shabu-shabu that I had had a few years ago in Kyoto (although this beer was perhaps not of the same grade) and it was quite tender. Overall I was pleasantly surprised and found the soup comparable to Chef Hung's (where I typically go for beef noodle). Nothing incredible but certainly a good meal! read more

Hands down the best Taiwanese spicy noodle soup I've tasted. I ordered the premium red beef noodle soup and wontons in chili oil...couldn't be happier. Quality of ingredients here are top notch. read more
Taiwanese beef noodle with the biggest pieces of beef we've ever seen! While we were impressed by its size, the tenderness and flavor of the beef was what really makes @redbeefnoodles stand out! TIP: They are not kidding around with their spicy beef noodle, it is . We would ask for half or 1/4 spicy next time! read more

Best I've ever had. Can't wait to go back. The noodles are thick and al dente (ok, interesting term to describe Asian noodles, but it works!) the soup base is absolutely delicious-rich and savoury. The beef brisket is unbelievably moist and tender. This is a must try! read more

Pros: Excellent service and Ambience was clean and modern. Shrimp wontons and salty pepper chicken were delicious. Taro slush was perfect. Cons: Noodle soup portions were disappointingly small. We ordered 3 more sides but still left unsatisfied. Overall the food was good for the most part, but we we left hungry and disappointed for how much we paid. If you go here for noodle soup, ask for extra noodles if that's an option. read more
