Solid spot for beef noodle soup. I liked the filling of the dumpling and that I could choose the type of noodles. I chose the wider hand pulled ones and they were bouncy and stretchy, not overly thick or heavy. Beef was good and not chewy. The soup could use more flavour in my opinion. Seems to be situated in a pretty busy plaza even for a Tuesday lunch hour so I can imagine that parking would be hectic for evening meal times!

The spicy beef noodles were pretty good. Servers were super nice and kept refilling our water. The popcorn fried chicken were okay.

Really solid dishes that were very comforting, super filling, yet felt healthy and flavorful. Each ingredient stood out on its own and complemented the whole, and was cooked well. Even my husband (who doesn't like pickles) enjoyed the pickled cabbage in the beef noodle soup. I like that you can choose from several different types of noodles depending on your preference. We visited on a Saturday afternoon so it was quite busy, but customers steadily came in and out so we felt like we didn't have to wait too long. Parking was very easy as it shares a large lot with several other businesses.

I love the many different varieties that aya beef noodle house has to offer. It's not just their specialized beef noodle soup but they have options between other proteins like mackerel and lamb. I can really appreciate how they've added other specialty dishes, like the boneless braised hoc, dim sum; xlb & egg yolk bun. Keep in mind that each dishes anywhere between $12-$25. Family friendly with free parking available

Came here for the first time after the business is about 6 months in. The interior is quite modern for a Taiwanese restaurant. Service is quite fast, beef noodle soup being a staple here. The beef noodle soup is a 3 out of 5. Beef shank doesn't taste like it's braised well enough so that the flavors are not deep. Pieces are tender but flavour could be richer. Soup is flavourful but thin. The thin noodles though are very chewy and texture is perfectly al dente. Fried Squid Tentacles could use some more sprinkling of seasoning salt.

Got the beef noodle soup which had a good amount of meat. There was a small line forming outside the restaurant right after we were seated. My fiance got the pork rice which was flavourful. The pricing of the drink seem reasonable but we didnt order any but would like to try next time

Visited this spot a few months ago. Got off of a ferry and it as a rather rainy wet weekend so wanted to go for some soup! Wanted to take my parents to try Taiwanese beef noodle soup and they were completely obsessed. Comforting flavours, we all opted for the knife cut noodles which was a fantastic texture, ordered some clams and popcorn chicken (which I forgot to take a picture of) as well and it was sooo delicious and absolutely hit the spot. Highly recommend and will absolutely come back for more the next time I'm in the area!

I'm going to do the Yelp community a solid by including pictures since the first two reviews didn't include any. We're always on the lookout for any new Taiwanese place since my wife is from Taipei. This new place in Richmond is super convenient for us since it's less than a quarter mile from where we are staying. We ordered the Original Beef Noodle Soup ($13.99), Deluxe Braised Pork on Rice ($16.95) and Taiwanese Fried Chicken aka Popcorn Chicken ($7.99). The beef noodle broth had a very aromatic beef scent and taste, however, it was lacking some spices that I associate with Taiwanese beef noodle. I make mine with Lu Bao and it seemed lacking of it; I prefer my broth with a little more "punch." The noodles were wonderfully tender with some "bite" to it and the beef shank was quite tender. The rice dish was definitely the better of the two. The included egg is more like the Japanese ramen egg than the traditional boiled egg which is a nice fusion twist. Taiwanese sausage was delicious as was the braised pork pieces. Surprisingly, was the inclusion of pork floss which I haven't encountered in other Taiwanese rice dishes. The popcorn chicken taste just like you get at any other place. We always like ours with deep fried basil which this one has. Service was very good here and the two young ladies were very attentive to us and made sure we have everything we needed and would also occasionally check on us. 4.5 Food 5.0 Service Solid 4.5 and will certainly be part of our restaurant rotation when we're in town.

Many individuals have praised AYA's beef noodles and salted crispy chicken, and today, my husband and I finally had the opportunity to try it. Unfortunately, it was a huge disappointment. We ordered a deluxe red braised beef knife-cut noodle soup, which came with tough beef, wontons with thick skin and minimal filling, minimal pickled vegetables, and a half-boiled egg that lacked marinated flavor. The knife-cut noodles were somewhat chewy, but the broth was completely flavorless. Having had my fair share of salted crispy chicken, AYA's version was excessively salty. I had to drink a cup of tea with each bite of chicken. Previously, I saw a group review praising AYA's salted crispy chicken as crispy, flavorful, and juicy, but our experience was entirely different. Both my husband and I found the chicken to be extremely salty, small in portion, and not crispy at all. My husband ordered a fresh taro milk tea with pearls, which we both agreed was the worst we've ever had. The milk tea had no flavor, and the pearls were small and hard, with a milk taste reminiscent of powdered milk. We couldn't detect any fresh taro flavor. My husband requested additional sugar, but the second time they brought it out, it was still flavorless and difficult to drink. My husband also ordered a pickled vegetable and intestine dish, which was overpowered by ginger and green onions, with minimal pickled vegetables and a flavorless intestine. I experienced gastrointestinal distress immediately after the meal. I spent considerable time in their washroom. We will not be returning, and it's no wonder they only had two tables of customers during lunch. The two servers were too busy chatting and had to be asked repeatedly to refill our tea. They stood around idly, chatting, with no smile or courtesy. Our meal cost $58, including tip. We left feeling disappointed and unsatisfied

There was a bit of a wait when we came on a weekend afternoon. Prices were reasonable but the beef noodles could benefit from more flavour. The salt pepper chicken nuggets tasted a bit under seasoned. Not a bad option if you're craving beef noodle but it's not the best that we've had. Restaurant was quite roomy with ample of seating. Service was also decent.

Amazing! We thoroughly enjoyed the food. Came all the way from North Van. 30 km drive. 0 regrets 100% satisfaction!

Food, service and ambiance is good. Parking can be a challenge during lunch hours as there are a few restaurants nearby.

What's appealing here is that their Instagram advertises daily specials so you can get some dishes for a great discount (like 40% off). We tried the braised combo (pork ear, pork intestines, fish cake), Taiwanese egg wrap, braised pork sauce rice with deep fried pork chop, and yam taro mochi balls. The braised combo is pretty solid - I didn't really like the funkiness to the intestines (I generally enjoyed it in barbecue settings) but the fish cake was fantastic. I also liked the texture of the pork ears. The Taiwanese egg wrap was a bit tasteless, so I wouldn't recommend. Braised pork sauce rice is the lu ruo fan which is a large portion with seaweed, bean sprouts, and soup on the side. Pork chop was flavorful and juicy but not crispy batter, which is okay. Yam taro mochi balls were sweet and chewy. I don't like taro but I loved this dessert! Service is okay. They give a water jug for self pour but the water jug was of questionable cleanliness. The specials were not discounted so we called it out and we weren't told that we had to put the order with a server, not the QR code, so it was a strange interaction. They ended up honoring the discount. Also, they shut down ordering 1 min before 10:30pm - guess they didn't want more money as we wanted to order 1 more dish and they preemptively told the kitchen to close. Sure it's fine no big deal, it was a lot of food.

The dining space is small but the decoration inside makes you feel like you transported to a different country. Marshmallow Thick Toast 4/5 The toast was about an inch thick, well toasted outside with a pillowy soft center. There's some melted chocolate on the bottom that added to the smores vibe. The marshmallows on top weren't very thick, so it melted to an even layer with perfect browning. The toast was cut into 9 pieces so it can be shared but given the portion I think 1-2 people would be fitting for this dessert. We weren't too hungry, so we shared amongst 4. Jasmine Tea Jelly 4/5 I really liked how fragrant the jelly was and that the jelly was a softer jelly that reminds you of Aiyu jelly. The after taste was a bit bitter but I feel like that tells me it was brewed and made and not just bought to serve. It's served with a splash of half and half I believe. To-Go I wanted to try and compare all the tea flavored jellies they had, Jasmine, Oolong and Earl Grey Tea Jelly. Packaged with small packets of the half and half to add later. The best was OOLONG 5/5- it had a slight roasted tea flavor that was refreshing and comforting at the same time. What you would want from a milk tea. Second best was Jasmine - fragrant and less bitter than the one I had in restaurant, typical jasmine flavor that's lightly floral and not too heavy Earl Grey 3/5 - it was good if you like earl grey like me, but it has an intensely strong fragrance and flavor that might be off-putting if you're not used to the taste. It was by far the strongest floral taste and smell of the three. I'd definitely be back to get these to go, they carry well and you can cross borders with them :)

The service was excellent from start to finish. They were incredibly patient and took the time to answer all of our questions thoroughly, which made the experience even more enjoyable. Thanks for the recommendation Jando S. At first glance, the prices are average for this type of food. However, once I saw the humongous portions, I believe this vendor should clearly be categorized as cheap eats. For example, for roughly $10, you get three large pork chops (fried or marinated, I slightly preferred the fried more), sautéed cauliflower in XO sauce, soy braised tofu skin (so good I paid for extra $5 portion), crunchy pickles, stewed fish tofu, marinated egg, and a whole separate box of white rice. This is easily $15-20 in NYC. Same price for the crispy, tender, and juicy Chicken Nuggets (aka Taiwanese Popcorn Chicken) with all the trimmings. The quality of every item in the box was top notch and all very delicious. What many customers ordered that interests me for the next visit was the Salt & Pepper Chicken (椒麻鸡), which was basically a huge piece of pounded chicken thigh, battered like the popcorn chicken, with a mala sauce on top. This is a gem for the people who live locally in the area. Such bang for the buck!
