We ordered from Uber Eats and holy cow, this was FANTASTIC!! I forgot to take photos, but really, it actually looks just like their Uber Eats page. We both ordered their signature beef and tendon soup with the default noodles which had a great texture. I added the spicy sauce to mine, and yup, it's very spicy (!) and delicious. We added extra brisket, but it really wasn't necessary, you get a fair amount already. This was by far the MOST TENDER brisket I have ever eaten anywhere. Wow. The tendon was also unctuous and perfectly braised. We also added extra vegetables, and you just get 3 extra stalks of baby bok choy so not really sure it was worth it. Their pickled cabbage was a nice vinegary cabbage with a touch of sweetness. Really crunchy and refreshing. Everything was very expertly packaged and we received the order within 30 minutes on a rainy Friday night before Xmas. read more

The salt and pepper popcorn chicken was delicious but I which it had a little more flavor to it. The food here is so fantastic, I've never had a bad dish! The beef noodle soup is always amazing. The broth is superb, the noodles are hand pulled in house, and the beef is tender and delicious. The fried green beans and soup dumplings are my other favorite menu items. Soup dumplings are slightly bigger than km used to, but they still fit in my mouth and taste amazing! They're sturdy and don't break either. On top of that, the location is exceptional, and it's conveniently located lots of fantastic shopping locations and health and wellness facilities. The staff is nice and friendly, and the restaurant itself is clean, cute and cozy. If you enjoy Taiwanese beef noodle soup, you've got to try this place. If you don't, you've still got to try it as they have lots of other fantastic options on the menu as well. read more

Glad to see Red Beef is keep distancing on each table and checking body temperature before entering. Staffs are wearing mask. We scanned QR code for menu and tried to order via the apps. The waiter was so nice to take our order in person. We got few appetizers, boiled cabbage dumplings, deep fried squid tentacles and chicken nuggets. The place we were trying to get into on a weekend night was full, so we ended up walking down the street to Red Beef Noodle Kitchen since we'd already paid the meter. I was pleasantly surprised with how tasty my meal from here turned out to be! I ordered the Tomato Beef Noodle Soup. (This looked to be the same as the Signature Beef Noodle Soup, but with some tomatoes cut into the soup and a tomato base/broth.) This has been on my spouse's radar for awhile, and yet something always gets in the way of us going to get her 'people's' food, until yesterday where we were running around doing errands and we finally were able to knock it down. If you are around here you know there are a lot of selections of food, that's also probably the other reason why I haven't stepped in here. Once you are here though (as I am writing this during our current Covid situation) there are tables set up in front for you to sanitize, put your name down (incase something happened at the restaurant at a certain time) and before you step into even seating your butt down you need to be temperature checked. Once you are through this part, when you get to the table there are bottles of water already set up for you. There is also a QR code at your seat, and while we wanted to order (my partner already did her homework prior to stepping in here) our server was telling us we could order from the QR.. we did not know what she meant till I tried it, and it is a very cool, pandemic ready, feature, the code they have on the side is for the table you are sitting at, and unlike other places where it is just a menu, this is interactive where you place the order right on the phone and the kitchen gets the order right away. We ordered a bowl of beef noodle with a side of beef wrap and firm tofu slices which came pretty quickly from the kitchen. The bowl of noodles was a fair size in a clean white bowl presentation. The noodles were cooked just right with a perfect firmness, and the beef, this was the star, as usually the beef slices at some other places are borderline, drier and firmer but this place seems to have it cooked just right with a tenderness I did not expect when I took the first bite. The broth was clean and washed everything down well when you put everything together. The beef wrap was another surprise as the wrapping they were using looked partially deep fried (which probably made it extra good) and every bite just went down and made you happy. In all, a place worth coming to when you have that Taiwanese beef noodle craving and now makes me think.. what else I should have ordered, but I can save that for next time as I know where I can get my fix. read more

Upon the lunch invitation of couple of good buddies, we decided to get together for lunch, but decided to eat healthy lol. I suggested red beef for some authentic taiwanese beef noodle soup...both immediately said "absolutely!" I ordered the house special cause i felt extra special that day...same broth and noodles but the beef was of the superior kind. Strips of lean and a bit fatty beef...i believe to be at least AAA quality...presented raw and topped on my noodles then the hot broth slowly poured into the bowl to cook the beef. The result: the beef cooked just perfectly! So good! Complimented by sweet corn and bok choy for that prefect remedy For a rainy day! Just what the dr ordered to invigorate the soul. The broth was authentic taiwanese. Simmered for hours, carefully extracting the essence of the bones and spices. So rich and pure. It was such a pleasure to slowly savour it and swirl it in my mouth like fine wine. One fo the best taiwanese beef noodle soups for sure. The noodles had the perfect bite. Both my friends agreed. We came on a Friday night after work and managed to snag the last table available - however it was the weird one that's almost like it's in the middle of the usual "path" down the center of the restaurant and my boyfriend was not too happy about that. But hey, it was either that or a 20 minute wait as most tables had just started eating so he begrudgingly agreed to sit there. Service was not great, maybe because they were very busy as we didn't get waters refilled and no one checked on our table once the food arrived. The beef roll was tasty and had cucumbers instead of the green onions, which I appreciated as I'm not a huge fan of onions. We also got the spicy beef noodle soup and the clear beef noodle soup. While the spicy beef bowl was okay, I didn't really care for the clear broth as it was kind of bland. At $13 a bowl, it's not someplace I would go out of my way to go back to again. I'm Taiwanese and I go to Taiwan once a year for the food (okay and to visit relatives :D). I really like to food at RedBeef! The spicy beef noodle soup is pretty legit. The big chunks of beef are so tender and amazingly flavourful. The spicy broth is awesome. Oily, yes, but awesome. Portion sizes are good and prices are great compared to what I usually pay downtown. Service is fine except that it was difficult to wave someone down to give us the bill. The desserts were mediocre so I wouldn't order those again, but I will come back for more savory dishes! read more

This was a disappointing experience after my last one, where I had thought I found the place to get my beef noodle fix. We came in on a weekday night at 530pm, and the place was pretty much empty. The staff were chatting amongst themselves at the back of the store and we had to wait a few minutes before they seated us (note: there were barely any customers in the restaurant). Like I had mentioned in my last post, my husband and I came to get the premium beef noodle soup ($18.95) and the standard beef noodle with shank, tendon and stomach. Firstly, the standard one was one we had also ordered last time. While we were so impressed with it previously, we were a little disappointed this time around. Last time seemed like there was so much meat and the portion was generous. This time? everything shrunk...the noodles were noticeably less. Another difference was that the meat was a lot more flavorful and the soup broth much richer previously. The spicy "premium" beef noodle soup was such a dealbreaker, especially when they charged a "premium". The soup broth that they poured over your noodles in front of you was essentially the same broth as the standard spicy beef noodle. What was different about this ridiculously expensive bowl was that they used Certified Angus sliced beef. This did not justify the hefty price tag. There was basically nothing special about this bowl of noodle. Definitely not coming back again. read more

My mom has been raving about this new beef noodle joint so we decided to swing by for lunch over the long weekend. Upon first impression, the space is bright and airy with high ceilings and a modern interior. It's very clean with lots of comfortable seating and plenty of wait staff - service was very attentive throughout our meal and our water glasses were rarely empty. Between the three of us, we had the Beef and Tendon Noodles, Tendon Noodles, and Spicy Beef Noodles (all $12.95). I've had authentic beef noodles in Taiwan and China, as well as various bowls from all across the lower mainland. I have to say, Red Beef Noodle Kitchen is a legitimate contender for best beef noodle in Greater Vancouver. The broth is flavourful, has great depth and nice notes of star anise and pepper to it. My boyfriend's spicy soup in particular was still well balanced and had the perfect amount of kick to clear his sinuses. The noodles have a perfect just past al dente texture and come nicely adorned with bok choy and pickled cabbage. The real showstopper here though is the beef. Typically with beef shank, you'll get some stringy pieces that are tougher to chew that get stuck in your teeth. Not here - the beef is literally melt in your mouth tender. I was in heaven with every new bite, especially when adding in some of Red Beef's homemade chili paste. If you like tendon, it's really well executed here. The pieces are fall apart tender and they give you a very generous amount (not sure why most places are usually so stingy!). We also ordered our requisite plate of veggies with the Stir Fried Pea Tips with Garlic (MP $9), which were fresh and done with enough "wok hei." I really hope Red Beef does well in the Kitsilano area as I don't think there's a huge Asian clientele there, but the quality and care they put into their food is evident. I've tried a few places for beef noodle soup hoping to compare to what I've had in Taiwan but none have come close until I've tried RedBeef Noodle Kitchen. They package the noodles and soup separately for takeout so that the noodles don't get soggy. The beef was very soft and just melted in my mouth. Shiny new Taiwanese beef noodle place in Kitsilano. We've eaten here twice since they opened last week. Armed with Yelp at my side, I've been on a multi-year quest to find the best beef noodle soup in Vancouver. My targets have been restaurants that either specialize in beef noodle soup or have beef noodle soup as one of their main dishes. I'm not going to list all of them here since the count is in the double digits, but my quest is officially over. None of them even come close to RedBeef Noodle Kitchen. The flavour, refinement, and consistency of RedBeef noodle soup is phenomenal. Everything here has been elevated to another level that must be experienced instead of merely explained: the noodles are perfectly cooked to a slightly chewy consistency, the broth has multiple levels of flavour, the beef is juicy and super soft. RedBeef has transformed the standard Taiwanese beef noodle soup into a delicacy. The premium beef noodle arrives at your table with the Angus beef slices separated from the broth. They pour the broth onto the beef so you can control how well done you want your meat cooked. I've never seen this process before with beef noodle soup and it's quite awesome. Small pieces of corn are included on the side to sweeten the broth to your liking. The signature beef noodle menu selections come in a smaller bowl and use the more traditional chunks of beef. The quality and refinement can even be seen in the side dishes. Every type of steamed dumpling I've tried so far has had fully closed seams, consistent shape, and delicate presentation. The Taiwanese beef bao is delicious and the meat melts in your mouth; it's that soft and tender. The beef potstickers are tasty, and at times, explosively juicy. They almost deserve a warning label, as biting into one may cause tiny splatter burns to those in the immediate area. This is one of the rare places I've been to recently that I can highly recommend. Seldom I have to agree with most of the reviews of this new Taiwanese Beef Noodles joint! This is indeed a top contender for the best TBN in Vancouver! The braised beef shank is to die for! Tender yet juicy and full of flavour, each bowl comes with at least 4 or 5 big chunks, I had the Ma La soup base and absolutely love it, also had the spicy wonton and steamed shrimp and pork dumplings, yes the price is on the high side but with the interior decor and very very friendly service, this is worth every bit! read more

I'm probably about a month behind for my reviews. Another new kid on the block for Asian noodles. Taiwanese beef noodles shops are popping up everywhere. This is one of the newer ones on the west side of the city. If there's one noodle dish I'll always order, it's the tossed noodles in spicy bean paste with pork. I'll order this at any noodle place I go to. I'ts pretty good here. The noodles are very very good with a nice amount of chew. Just the way I like it. Add a nice deeply flavoured broth to the beef noodle soup, you've got a winner. read more

A group of 4 of us went on a Wednesday night with a reservation. We had cabbage pickles (a little sweet), tofu with preserved egg, braised beef tongue, friend squid tentacles (excellent!!), cucumber and garlic (great, but pretty garlic-y), a noodle each, then shared the mango panacotta and tea crepe brûlée. We were stuffed. The spicy beef noodle was not that spicy, is if you're really into the heat you might want to ask explicitly to have them make it more spicy. This place is pretty good for beef noodles, and they have a pretty big menu which ranges from a lot of different noodle options, to rice options and even their appetizers are no joke! * 4X trio beef noodle ($15.95/each) ~ the noodles are nice and chewy and it has the thick beef slices which were ultra soft and chewy (literally melts in your mouth) it was so tender! Also comes with beef tripe and tendon. The soup base itself is already semi spicy with a slight kick however for (+$1) you can add extra spice to the broth which will really have a nice kick. Super good way to warm up your throat! * Curry beef rice ($14.95) ~ they needed to make this twice for me. The first time because the curry was not good and the second it redeemed itself. The curry is a Japanese like curry which has a bit of sourness to it, but it's normal (as they needed to make a brand new batch for me). There was load of sauce but not much beef brisket I do wish there was more and that the brisket was as tender as the beef slices in the soup. * 2X Pan fried pork buns ($5.95/each) ~ each servicing comes with 2 pork buns and they are pretty big. But they were super oily. It was glistening in oil more than usual. But nothing paper napkins can't absorb. The pork was juicy and chewy and the bun was soft and a slight crispy texture at the bottom. * Xiao long bao ($7.95) ~ comes with 6. The skin is thin which can easily be punctured but you taste more of the juicy pork. The pork was delicious and nicely seasoned so the juice in the XLB was nice and seasoned. * Fish cake ($5.95) ~ don't get this loool it's fish tofu not good at all. Tasteless and it's not even crispy. It was so oily and soggy I was disappointed. * 7/10 ~ the noodle soup is good here and the curry is super saucy. But the pork buns was too oily and fish cake was not good. * 6/10 ~ they are pricey here especially since it's noodles and stuff! I would say it's on the pricier side of Taiwanese beef noodle soup. Dare I say BETTER than in Taiwan? After recently spending some time in Taipei I have had a serious craving for beef noodle soup. There are plentiful options in Richmond but we decided to venture out to RedBeef on the recommendation of a Taiwanese contact. The room is modern, clean and welcoming. Plenty of space and feels comfortable. Modern jazz playing quietly in the background helped with the ambience. We ordered the spicy beef noodle soup - amazing! Deep flavourful broth, chewy noodles and a generous portion of slowly braised beef shank. The meet was cooked perfectly with just the right amount of tender consistency without falling apart to the touch. It was all seasoned well and had the right amount of spice (actually a little spicier that what we had experienced in Taipei). Conclusion - we enjoyed it more here than in Taiwan, there I said it lol. We will definitely be back to try the rest of the menu. read more

This place is a gem. Everything is quality, from the decor, utensils to the food itself. I ordered the premium red beef noodle soup and it was amazing, considering I'm not a big fan of beef. The portion was huge I couldn't even finish. With this specific dish, they roll it out on a cart to your table with solid ingredients first and they pour the broth into the bowl right in front of you, pretty cool !! Good way to have the beef tender rather than over cooked . Also ordered the deep fried squid tentacles for an appy and it has the authentic Taiwanese taste. Loved it !! I had a sudden craving for some beef noodle soup and RedBeef's rendition really hit the spot! My friends and I ordered the Popcorn Chicken to share and I ordered the Signature Beef Tendon Noodle Soup but asked for it to be spicy (a fatal mistake as I later learned...). I thought that the Popcorn Chicken was very well cooked; however, I thought that it could have used some more salt/seasoning. It was a tad on the bland side, but the chicken itself was very tender. The beef noodle soup was delicious, but there was one major problem: it was way too spicy. I am usually able to eat most spicy things, but I could not handle how spicy the beef noodle soup was. Tears were coming out of my eyes and sweat was dripping down my face. In fact, I needed to order a mango slushee to make each bite more bearable. Despite the fact that I was dying, the beef noodle soup was very good. The tendon was nice and soft and the portion size was generous. It would have been nice to have some kind of warning to address exactly how spicy the beef noodle soup would be. I think that most people would not have been able to handle the level of spice that was presented. Pretty damn good! I had their signature beef noodle. The beef was melt-in-your-mouth tender (although some pieces had bits of fat that I wasn't a big fan of). The broth was very flavourful and had bits of pickled veg. It also came with some baby bok choy (more than one piece, I hate when some places only include 1 measly piece of bok choy!). The noodles were my favourite part of the bowl - cooked perfectly and that right amount of "bounce". The chicken nuggets were some of the best I've ever had. Went back to try some of their other dishes and still happy to say I give them 5 stars! Tried their sweet and sour lemon chicken rice dish, sliced pork with mashed garlic appetizer, and fried spareribs with noodle soup combo. Everything was delicious and portions were generous. The sweet and sour lemon chicken is a bit more on the sour side than the lemon chicken that people are used to, but I really enjoyed it since I don't like my food super sweet. The fried spareribs were seasoned and cooked perfectly with a nice, thin layer of batter. It was a huge portion for one too! The sliced pork was on point and it wasn't too garlicky as I've had this dish from other places that go overboard with the raw garlic. I've already been to Red Beef twice within the last week but I'm starting to wish we lived closer to it so we can go more often :) read more
