Great guys, clean store, lots of variety, but the company has kicked me. After many mmay years as a loyal customer I may have to shop elsewhere. This decision is being made based on the only work shoe, since 1986, that has fit me well has been the Oxford 6618 (10EEE), has been discontinued. The steel toe cap never crushed the end of my feet (from left to right), unlike every other work shoe I have tried elsewhere. A major disappointment. I hope they continue to be able to replace the soles, as I still have 2 pair over very used 6618s that will soon need the soles replaced. I have heard from John in the Westminster store that the 6633 has replaced the 6618. If those are made in 10EEE, I may try them... if not. Red Wing becomes just another brand name that I have lost interest in. read more

I even told them I was unhappy with my purchase and asked about the refund policy and was told they had to be unused. They gave me a bigger size because that's all they had and didn't even bother to see if I was able to order them online or even another style. Worked on them the following day and they were the most uncomfortable boots I have ever purchased. Came with el viejo and the kiddo to buy some work boots and oh wow we received the best customer service from Savi! She's so knowledgeable about the items they have, answered all of viejo's questions, constantly offered assistance, was super friendly and was so patient! Management please give this employee a raise asap! There were two other employees and both were nice and doing their job. The negative reviews are pretty surprising. Or maybe we just got lucky to get helped by Savi. Yes the boots are pricey but they really are great quality and the prices reflect that. Viejo is a driver who is also constantly on his feet for work and he loves their boots. A big plus is how they are handling COVID regulations. They require customers to wear masks, encourage social distancing, and only allow a certain number of customers into the store at a time (the store really isn't that big) which yes this definitely creates a line to get in but I appreciate it. I went in here a few months ago to purchase boots recommended by my brothers in the union. I went in and Alex was eager to help me, he answered my questions, sized my feet and was as helpful as he could be. What I didn't appreciate was that I was going to have to pay shipping for a size they didn't have in stock. I was insulted that after paying $200+ for boots, I would then have to pay shipping......as if it's my fault my feet are so big? Anyway, that kind of turned me off......secondly, when they size you up, the machine recommends "specific" insoles that you should purchase.....anyway, I wasn't impressed. Update to today, I eventually bought redwings from a non redwing store because they offered a union discount. I also went to a different redwing store in Glendale after inquiring about insoles for plantar fasciitis. When visiting a different store I was told that customers should never be charged for shipping, that that isn't something redwing should do. I won't be coming back to this store and won't be recommending it either. It felt like Alex was trying to charge me for whatever he could and didn't care about the individual. read more

We were met with a very nice and polite employee Savi Rodarte. I showed her what boot I was looking for. She brought out the boots and also requested that I stand on a computer generated mat that gave a reading on my foot and recommended boots and sole inserts. Ms. Rodarte clearly demonstrated her knowledge of boots, insoles and other important items to us. She was passionate, knowledgeable, friendly, professional, and demonstrated outstanding customer service to us. $292.00 later my wife and I walked out feeling like great and wanting to come back to purchase additional footwear and products. I walked in and the first thing I noticed was the store layout. It was like a showroom but for shoes/boots. I spoke with an associate named Lorraine who was helpful about getting me the right fit. I bought a pair of boots for work. Also 3 soles(buy two accessories get the third for free) which are very comfortable and we're specifically for the pressure points after a foot test I took. Everybody here knows how to treat a customer. Once you step foot inside you're immediately greeted and asked if they can assist you. If they're busy with another customer they make sure to acknowledge you and let you know they'll be right with you. Very spacious and clean show room. The employees are knowledgeable with their products. They do their best to understand what you're looking for. Last month I took in my 1907's to get resoled. Within a week and a half got the call that they're ready for pick up and they look amazing. Like a pair of brand new boots. When you send them in for resole they also condition the leather, repair any stitching, repair eyelets if needed. When I dropped them off I mentioned that I wanted to keep the patina on my leather and they made sure to make a note that I didn't want the boots conditioned. They tend to get darker. Plus I like to condition my own boots. Oh and you can't go wrong with the lifetime service they have. The only downside and in no part their fault. I wish Red Wing would still produce the engineer boots. Don't even know why they would discontinue that. Seems like a boot a lot of people are looking for. read more

This is a terribly run store. First off, when we asked for a particular insole, we were only told that the store was "pushing" something else. We continued to ask about what we came in for, but they said they hadn't seen it before. It wasn't until we found the specific insole online and showed it to the employee that they made the effort to find it for us in the back. Then it was time to check out. We wanted to pay with a gift card but the employee did not know how to process one. Instead of attempting to find out how to use a gift card, it was suggested by the employee that we use another method of payment. We had to say no and advise the employee to reach out to their leadership so that we could be assisted. The employee texted someone. After more time had passed, they finally spoke with someone over the phone who walked them through it. In the end, our union discount was not honored. I didn't time it, but we probably spent between 45 minutes to an hour in the store. There were many opportunities for the employee to show some initiative and work to provide basic customer service. If there is a problem or you don't know how to do something, you should try to find a solution rather than passing the issue onto the customer. Ultimately, the blame is on the management for leaving poorly trained staff to run a store on their own. read more

When I bought a pair of Red Wing boots at the Fredericksburg, VA, I was told that part of their commitment and guarantee was to bring them in for a free cleaning, oiling, and new laces. I brought them in and was told that I had to clean them first. I explained what I was told when I bought and the salesman said they didn't do that anymore, but he would oil them if I cleaned them. They weren't really very dirty. He then wanted to sell me a cleaning kit. One of the reasons I bought these high priced boots was their after service promise. If I have to clean them first, I can certainly oil them myself. I complained to corporate but they said their "business needs have changed". What a crock. My consumer needs have now changed and I will never buy from Red Wing again. In addition, the appearance of the salesman I talked to looked disheveled, unkept, unshaven, and unprofessional.
