When I entered this store on March 26, 2026, for services rendered, I was told that I would have to pay in full ($40.00) repair fee before I could have my shoes resoled and it would take a week to repair. When I returned to pick up my shoes on April 4, 2026, I forgot that I had prepaid the $40.00 requested repair fee to the owner and paid another $40.00 in cash at the time to picked up my shoes. I wasn't given a payment receipt at the time for the second payment. When I returned home, I remembered that I had already paid for the shoe repair services via American Express as requested a week before the shoes where resoled. I immediately returned to the store. Before I could enter the store, he saw me before I could open the door and locked it. It was near closing time. It was the weekend, so I returned on Tuesday April 2, 2026, with my shoes in my hands and told second him of my repair payment for services rendered. He wouldn't repay me the $40.00 and asked me for receipt that he didn't give me. Lesson learned: Always pay with a credit card and get a receipt. This store is not worthy of your business. So, I started looking for a tailor to see if they could be adjusted to fit me. I was so happy to have found AIB Custom Tailor in Annapolis Mall. The pants had no stretch, but had a front zipper, button closure and wide legs with a cuff. The tailor looked at the pants and said he could fix them if I was willing to give up the cuffs that would give him the extra material he would need to fix the pants. I said YES and was so excited that I found someone that could fix my pants. He asked me when I wanted the pants back and I told him by the weekend (Saturday). That only gave him 3 days. I called him on Saturday afternoon and he said my pants were ready. I immediately left to go pick them up. When I got there he gave me the pants to try on and they fit like a glove. I couldn't believe it! You couldn't tell the pants had been altered at all except they no longer had the cuff. I was so happy! I will be going back again to have other clothes altered.

I felt so awful asking him repeatedly to go hunting for a specific pair of shoes that I wanted but he did it without even an inkling of frustration. When it turned out that they didn't have exactly what I was looking for, he went hunting for it as different stores until they were found. While we waited, we chatted about how much he enjoyed working at Merrell's Outlet Store and how they treated their employees well.
