I explained who my dr was and he knew right off what was needed. I loved that they had that relationship! I'm finally getting around to writing this review. I went here to shop for some comfortable running shoes specifically made for wide feet. What a joy shopping here! The service was awesome. Even busy, the salesman was attentive and brought out many pairs for me to try on. Very patient. I ended up buying two pairs of shoes, a pair of slippers that are super durable and essential, as well as a fantastic assortment of soft, colorful socks. I highly recommend this place. Very nice shoe store for athletic attire. They fit your shoes according to your specific feet and size. They also have a treadmill with a camera that records how you walk in each shoe. The staff spends a lot of time with each customer to ensure the shoes fit. It is the best shoes I have every owned! When we arrived the place looked slammed, but they got through everyone and they help mulitple people at the same time but in a classy manner. I've been coming to this location for many years now. I've also gone to some of the other locations but this one is just closest to me. I've always enjoyed coming here because the location is perfect it is inside the town center in Annapolis which is close to just about everything. I came in yesterday because I needed a new pair of shoes I just started getting back into long-distance running and I haven't bought a new pair of running shoes in years. The gentleman at the front desk was so kind to bring me out a plethora of different running shoes that fit my foot shape. I've always been interested in the on running shoes so he brought out a couple of those and I absolutely loved them. I also ended up buying a couple pairs of shorts because some of them are on sale at the front of the store. I also like charm city run because they provide training programs for every level of runner out there which has helped me get back into running after my hiatus. Bought a pair of Brooks adrenaline running shoes from them that were on sale because they were the older version of a shoe and had been replaced 4 months prior with the newer model. I had no idea that the shoes had been sitting in a box for more than a year and as such would break down very quickly. Nor was this ever disclosed to me prior to my purchase. The woman who fitted me that day told me that there was very little difference in the two shoes and recommended the older version to me. Fast forward 3 months after purchase I noticed the lining was breaking down and I was getting holes in the fabric around my heels and inside of the foot. 6 months in the soles are literally coming apart so I decided to let the store know that the shoes were wearing much faster than I expected as I was only wearing them indoors twice a week and had not known Brooks to break down that quickly especially if not being worn to run. The woman that helped me that day basically told me I bought old shoes and that's what I get when I buy sale items. I've never experienced such poor customer service and would NEVER purchase from them again. I've had good experiences in the past with them but I think at this point they are getting too big for my liking as customer service has very much gone down the drain. I'm not saying that I expected a new shoe to be given to me 6 months after purchase. But, paying $140 for a shoe that is worn twice a week and indoors should not have broken down and fallen apart in that timeline. Any worthwhile merchant should be able to grasp that and work with a customer/manufacturer to make it right. Footjoy does it and guarantees their shoes for a solid year. I find it hard to believe that other companies don't have warranty's on their products for merchants to offer customers and the bottom line is she didn't want to be bothered with me or it. read more

The store has always been busy but they helped me out and I love how they look at the way my feet hit the ground in order to pick out a few shoes for me to try on. I picked up a few running accessories while I was there like gloves that are compatible with using a smart phone and a running headband for those cooler days. They came in handy during the winter runs. The cashier forgot to give me a discount but I went in the next day and they applied it. Parking here isn't the greatest unless you're willing to park down by Gordon Biersch or luck out with a store front parking space. I normally where a size 6.5 or 7, but in running shoes I am a 7.5. I would have never figured this out on my own. Besides the shoes they have awesome local apparel with fun logos. My favorite is a tank top I have that says run, but instead of the U there is an ice cream cone!! I also love CCR for the group training that they offer. I have now done two different training groups (one in Columbia, one in Annapolis) and had an amazing experience with both of them. I have started to step my game up on exercising with COVID. My old sneakers were okay, but cause a lot of pain in my feet. To were I had to massage them after exercising every single time. No fun! They will measure your feet and watch you walk. They use to allow running on the treadmill, but with COVID they can't allow that. I took the one with my favorite color purple. My boyfriend who didn't plan on buying sneakers. He too bought a pair that he is excited about as well. I'm so stoked to have a running store on this side of town! It's conveniently located in the Annapolis Town Centre - the best shopping area in Annapolis. The service is great - very courteous and most of the reps are willing the spill the latest and greatest about all the new running tech. They don't seem to have as much in stock as Fleet Feet and other better-known running stores, but if you already know what kind of running shoes you like and you call ahead of time, you'll be happy. If you're a running shoe noob, then you may want to go somewhere else, where they can offer more than fit-testing and the general "run around the block and tell me if you like 'em" service. This is definitely not the place to have someone look at your running gait and have them record you on the treadmill to recommend the best shoe for you. I don't remember even seeing a treadmill in the store, actually. Most of your go-to running gear and apparel are here: Brooks, Mizunos, etc. AND the last time I checked, they even had Newtons. With every visit to Charm City Run in Annapolis Town Center, I have been treated with nothing but the utmost kindness by everyone in the store with the exception of the store manager Kelly. [20 Mar 2020 Purchase date] Outstanding store made that way by the frontline employees!! My 3rd fitting at the Annapolis store over the last several years. The store will do fittings for walk-ins as well as appointments. I made an appointment on the website which allows for input of size, needs and running background/history. I'm not a competitive runner. I run for basic fitness and need shock/cushion for long term joint durability. They had several pairs of shoes ready to go at fitting time when I walked in. Whitney and Victoria handled my fitting. Both are VERY knowledgeable about the differences in shoe design and construction. They are also very observant of individual running mechanics and know what shoes to pull provide appropriate cushioning and support. I tried on 5 or 6 pair on the store treadmill and was confident with my purchase of Saucony Triumph and Hoka Bondi. Also of note: The store has been practicing excellent hygiene long before COVID. They disinfect ALL shoes that are tried on by customers to prevent transmission of anything. I will definitely be going back there when I wear these shoes out. This is one of those purchases where going into the store vice guessing on a shoe via the internet makes a difference. If they are more in the store, it is well worth it for the free fitting and treadmill tryout to get the right shoes the first time. read more

Poor customer service. Came in for a pair of shoes and had a couple minutes interaction with the salesman. Brought me three pairs of shoes then disappeared. Only 1 other customer in the store. No hey do they fit, what do you think, etc. Picked the shoes and bought them (for $150). Came back a couple hours later to return the shoes. Was told store credit only or exchange. Asked if they could just cancel the transaction since they hadn't closed out for the day. Nope. Got the usual manager, policy blah, blah, blah. Then the cashier said "I'm not going to do anything to get in trouble." Really?! That's the priority? I'm not asking you to slip me a $100 from the register, I just want to return the shoes. I always come here for the packet pick up events for the area races that I participate in. I like this store very much. The employees are always very nice, welcoming, and knowlegable. The store is very neat and organized and I never have trouble finding what I am looking for. It is also located to other nearby athletic goods stores in the Center. The only reason I took a star off is because this location does seems to have a skimpier stock than the other CCR locations. There is not as much to choose from clothing wise. read more

What a great running shop! I came in to replace my running shoes, which I have had for a while but which have always given me problems. I wanted to go to a place that would help me discover the best kind of shoe for me. When I walked in, I was immediately greeted by the guy behind the counter and asked if I needed help. I told him what I needed and he immediately got to work. He had me run back and forth to the door, talked with me about my goals and what I wanted from a running shoe. Then he brought me three pairs to try, and had me run back and forth, testing them all. I found a pair I really liked, and they were even wide enough for my wide feet. He offered to grab a few more pairs to try, but I was very happy with the New Balance he selected, so I chose those. In the course of our conversation, I mentioned that I am training for the Annapolis half marathon, and he told me that they do organized group runs for local races, including the Annapolis half. I live a little far away to make it every week, or else I probably would have inquired further. I felt comfortable and taken care of here. I felt this guy really knew his stuff and wanted me to leave with the best shoe for me. I will definitely be back in the future.
