Recently stayed at the Hyatt Regency in Cincinnati and arrived a bit early for check-in, so I decided to stop into Red Roost Tavern, which is conveniently located inside the hotel. I had an hour or two to kill and figured I'd grab some lunch and a few drinks. I ordered the Tavern Burger, and honestly, it exceeded my expectations for a hotel bar. Juicy, flavorful, and cooked just right--l it felt more like something you'd get at a stand-alone pub. To go along with it, I had an espresso martini (perfectly made) and a couple of beers, including one of the local Cincinnati brews on tap, which was a nice touch and very reasonably priced. The bartender was awesome friendly, attentive, and knew how to make a proper cocktail. Bar seating was comfortable, and the overall vibe has that cozy tavern feel that makes you want to linger a bit longer. For what it is, this place nails it. Definitely one of the better hotel bars I've been to, and I see no reason not to give it a solid 5/5.

This restaurant is inside the Hyatt Regency in Cincinnati. I came in early to try their breakfast. The food was quite good with a large portion. I tried an omelette with potatoes. They also put a salad on the side ... which was kind of strange. The coffee was just okay. Overall, the service was good. The food came out fast but then no one really came back to check on me. You have to order before sitting down and tip. So I feel like my tip was not really put to good use. The decor is nice and the restaurant is very clean. I would definitely like to try their dinner next time!

Spring Pasta

Typical hotel bar located inside the Hyatt Regency Cincinnati. The bartender was friendly and the bar was very clean of course. Their menu isn't anything super exciting, just your typical sandwiches, burgers, and wings. I got the spring pasta entree to take up to my room. There is no room service here btw. The pasta was a little al dente for my liking, but I enjoyed the sweet potato puree and hert covert. The pistachios added a nice little crunch. I still don't know how I felt about the gorgonzola. It was a bit strong for this dish. The dish was overall fine and did the job as I just wanted to get something in my belly after a day or travel. I also got the Bardstown Bourbon cocktail which was pretty good. It was definitely more pineapple/sweet forward than I expected, but it had a really great flavor.

I visited the establishment on Friday evening and sat at the bar. Scott was the bartender who took care of me and provided excellent customer service. He's friendly, engaging, and overall a really nice guy - just what I would hope all bartenders to be. I was torn on what to order as the menu has a little bit of everything from starters, salads, sandwiches and full entrees. I decided on the Tavern Burger- Ohio wagyu beef, Tilamook cheddar, lettuce, pickle, onion and tavern sauce for $18 with an option of fries or side salad. I went with the fries. The burger was honestly not the greatest. The beef tasted odd, the bun soggy as seaweed, and the flavor was just that - flavorless. Perhaps going with something else might have been the move to make next time.

Cherry Cola

Our server was very sweet and attentive. The bartender is skillfully talented. That cherry cola melted my long day away. The burger totally hit the spot as well. It's a nice place. Very spacious doesn't feel so crowded. I like that.

Dinner and drinks at the Red Roost Tavern was a perfect nightcap after a long day of travel. I walked in on a slow Sunday night. I initially waited to be seated trying to adhere to the sign that instructed me to do so, but after minutes passed by and I saw no one other than the bartender and a perfectly good bar I decided just to sit at the bar. The Red Roost Tavern had a typical hotel restaurant feel - generic and forgettable - but there were plenty of televisions to see the Sunday night football games. The bartender was fantastic. I never saw another employee the entire night but she ran food, made drinks, bussed plates all the while being engaging and conversational. She is the type of bartender who can make any customer feel at ease. The food was good. I ordered a burger and it was delicious. It wasn't a "go out of your way" for burger, but it was above my expectations. Juicy, flavorful, perfect thickness of the bun. The French fries were the classic golden fries that were a bit bland. The Regency Revenge was a great drink - it was basically a margarita variety but was well balanced, slightly tart, and quite refreshing. It was a good experience!

Stopped in for lunch and ended up having a cocktail. The bartender was very nice ....the cocktail was delicious. Loved the bar. Will definitely visit again.

Super short pour of Baileys

This was the worst pour I've ever had. I don't even think it was a full shot. $14 for a sip of Baileys. Cheers!

Burger with waffle fries

We decided to come to Red Roost Tavern before going to Blink Cincinnati 2019. They took a reservation at the time we wanted and there menu had a variety of items. From the time we arrived we were pleasantly greeted 4 times and seated at a high top, which was fine with us. I got a Prosecco and the fish tacos. My son got a burger with the waffle fries. The Prosecco was good. I was surprised they didn't have a half split, but we were the bar in the Hyatt so everything was priced a little higher. The fish tacos were outstanding. The sauce on them was great. My son scarfed down his burger - he said it was perfect. He got it without all of the additions on it (sauce etc). He ate about half of the waffle fries - they were a little greasy, but good. Great service - she could not have been any nicer!! I gave it a four star since I thought the prices were a bit high.

Smoked Tomato & Bacon Grilled Cheese
Lucy G.

Place was pretty dead when we went, we ordered take out. ALL our fries were kind of burnt, dark brown and tasted burnt too, the smoked tomato grilled cheese had a VERY strong smoke flavor, the pretzel was good but the beer cheese for dipping was gross, I don't like using that word when it comes to food, but it was! Not sure if it was past it's date or what but it was sour and funky tasting. Don't think I'd go here again.

Chicken wings

First the service was extremely slow. We waited 45 minutes for our food. However, the place was pretty busy so they were doing their best. The reason for the one star review is the quality of the food. We paid $16 dollars for only 6 chicken wings and they weren't even good. Attached is a picture of the almost $3 wing. I also had the "Waygu" burger. It was just terrible.

Catfish po-boy, collard greens
Mark H.

Had dinner with colleagues in a group of 4. Good experience, hostess was occasionally distracted when seating groups. I liked the catfish po-boy with a side of collard greens and the dessert.

Amy N.

Great place to eat if you're staying in the Hyatt and don't want to go out. Decor is classy with "in style" wood features and beautiful lights. I had the spicy avocado burger and parmesan herb fries. Delicious! Also had the Daisy margarita! Drinks are strong, food is large in portion. Only reason for the 4 and not 5, the price. I have to give them a break though, it is downtown Cincinnati and conveniently inside the hotel.

The space is open, bright and well decorated making it very inviting for brunch. You order at the counter from the menus placed along the wall then food is delivered to your table. The various brunch items all sounded very inviting so I was having trouble deciding what to order. So I got a recommendation to try the Shakshuka. Not sure how to pronounce it but when it arrived it was just the right portion and quite tasty for brunch. It's a bowl with a red pepper sauce and feta cheese and kale along with eggs sunny side up. The dish is served with pita so you can do a little bit of dipping in the tasty sauce. To accompany our food we selected the mimosa service and bloody mary pitcher. A pitcher is just perfect for sharing. And the mimosa service was delightful. The server arrived with a bottle of Prosecco and small carafes of orange, grapefruit and blood orange juices to mix yourself. The food was fresh and tasty with prompt delivery of our food to our table. Not quite a full service restaurant since you have to order at the counter but still a nice experience located downtown.

We began with a dirty chai latte, aromatic and comforting, though I personally would have enjoyed a touch more sweetness. The dirty French, customized gluten free, was rich, decadent and deeply satisfying. It felt indulgent in the best way and showcased the kitchen's ability to balance comfort with culinary intention. To go, we ordered the crunchy chicken nuggets, fries and lemon ricotta pancakes. The fries were outstanding, perfectly crisp and addictive. My husband loved the pancakes, light and flavorful with a bright citrus note. The gluten free nuggets were enjoyable, though they did not quite reach the level I expected compared to the rest of the menu. We got the duck fat fries, brussels sprouts, and buffalo chicken. The duck fat fries came with a delicious garlic aïoli. The brussels sprouts were just perfect. And the buffalo chicken with some of the best I've had in a long time. I had never had cock-a-leekie before, so I tried that too. It was a nice, warm, comfort food. If you prefer a quieter setting, then eating in the bar is your best bet because the dining rooms do get loud. We started with the east/west coast oysters and they were so fresh. The passion fruit mignonette was the perfect compliment. I kept scooping out tiny spoonfuls and drinking it after we finished the oysters. The Fluke Crudo was fantastic. The combo of flavors and textures was a delight for the palate. The scallops over the miso leek risotto was one of the best scallop dishes we have ever eaten. The scallops were huge and cooked perfectly and there were plenty of pieces of leek in a lovely, smooth risotto. We're not a fan of hijiki, so the chef prepared the risotto without it - Thanks Chef Jose! And you would think chicken schnitzel would be basic, but not this dish. The chicken was so moist, perfectly seasoned, and pan fried in butter. We asked for the sauce on the side because we knew we wouldn't finish the big piece and wanted to heat it up later and still be crispy (which we did). We were amazed that eating the chicken, almond, asparagus, and some sauce in one bite, was SO good. The best two meals we have had in Cincinnati so far in 2026 have been here, and Mita's. Walking in a bit awkward. One door is locked and the other is open. One has to guess correctly. The entrance is a little cramped. Goto the left for the bar or the right for the dining room. I've always enjoyed the open kitchen; the focus, hustle, and discipline is admirable and fun to watch. Decor is modern. Feels upscale. One can make this a casual date or dress it up for a bigger night out. All of our wait staff have been polite and are good at timing visits. The food offered here and all of Salazar's restaurants is excellent. Most recently, we enjoyed the lobster rolls, fried oysters sandwich, fries, steak, and scallops. Two desserts were taken to go. Each dish, no matter how advanced or simple, presented with elegance, perfect spice and texture, and spot on internal temps. Certainly it's the excellent cooking that justifies the $300 check that chased this outstanding experience. Everything I've mentioned is positive. Where do the two stars come from? Well in our last visit, we took dessert to go. We utilized valet that Salazars/Mitas contracts. It took forty minutes for our car to get to us. Forty. Minutes. We got ice cream as a part of a dessert to go. While one could argue we are taking a risk, and I agree, we actually had a cooler in the back of the car that was ice cold from earlier in the day. Thusly we felt we were taking a calculated risk. We get our car, see the ice cream is melted, and I go back. I explain the situation to the hostesses. The GM shows up and I provide a gentle explanation. Following this I say I'd like to the replace the included ice cream but end up ordering a couple other flavors. I get cashed out - no apology for the under performing valet, no offer to cover the melted scoop, just take my money and move forward. I understand that nothing is owed to me. I understand that restaurants aren't successful by giving out hand outs. My frustration comes with the lack of recognition of arguably restaurant error, the fact that loyalty means nothing, and that spending nearly $300 (or how much four visits cost in less than a year), including a kitchen tip, wasnt enough.
