I will never come back to this place. We came in about 6:15 tonight and had to wait about 5 minutes before being seated. No big deal since they were pretty busy. Our servers name was Bella and she was wonderful. She was running everywhere taking care of her tables and check up on us multiple times during our visit. We ordered two unsweet teas and got the cheese fries and fried pickles. Soon after we ordered our food and other tables were seated and started receiving their food. 30 minutes later and we were still waiting on our appetizers. Finally we received those and the fried pickles were completely cold and the fries were barely luke warm. We snacked alittle bit and then sat them aside because they were cold and we wanted to wait for our food. Another 30 minutes passed and we never received our food but the tables seated after us had been served. We ended up telling our waitress that we just wanted our ticket. They tried to bring our food out and we just told them no that we asked for our ticket because we've been sitting here and had already told our waitress. Our waitress comes back over almost in tears and told us not to worry about our ticket and that her manager had threatened her job whenever she told her what had happened. I handed the waitress a tip because she did wonderful and I felt so bad for her. This so called manager is an older lady with shorter gray hair and she decided to come over to our table as we were talking to our waitress and say a rude ass comment and said we were completely refunded and told us to have a nice night and tossed a recept at my boyfriend. We never got our ticket so my boyfriend and I never paid for anything, so i have no idea who she refunded but it was not us. We will never be back after this awful night and I hope the server gets a new job with a manager who actually cares about her employees. read more

This first review I left a few years ago was 4 stars. I hadn't gone back until recently. I felt the need to update my review. The last two times we went were fantastic. The cheese fries that we got as an appetizer were really good. I never liked catfish until I tried it here. I had a few bites from my kids plate and ended up eating it all. I traded him half of my chicken fried steak, which was really good. I recommend you take them up on the free dessert. The apple cobbler is awesome. The only bad thing that happened was when I tried to open the bbq sauce and it literally exploded on me. All over my clothes. All over the table. The waitress said it probably fermented, but that's where she left it. I didn't throw a fit because it's not like it was anyone's fault. I have had chicken fried steak at all of those other popular places at least twice because I always consider some place may just be having a bad day. If we hadn't returned the 2nd night they'd have 5 stars. Our first visit steaks and chicken were cooked to perfection. Service was great too. We saw they served prime rib on Friday and Saturday nights so we went back on Friday. Arrived around 6:00 and was seated promptly. Got our drinks and appetizers. The biggest hit were the rattle snake eggs - jalapeños stuffed with cream cheese and wrapped with bacon. EXCELLENT! I think 9 of the 10 of us ordered the prime rib. Oops - right after our ordered we heard they had run out of prime rib - but not to worry they had enough to fill our orders. Yup they did - I don't think anyone ordered well done but that is what each of us were served. If you're going to offer a special at least ensure you have enough to run through the rush. We believe we were served the end of the roast - done done done. If we had shown up at 8:00 and 9 people ordered prime rib you might expect this - but at 6:00? We were on the road from the Woodlands all day and we came across this hidden gem for dinner. They start you off with bread and cinnamon sugar butter. We were not disappointed with any of the food. Wow...epically bad service even for the usual bad service around here! Waited over an hour for food to come out that had obviously been sitting for quite some time (gravy was congealed and cold), in addition to part of the order being incorrect, asked for ketchup which they never brought, and all they could say was, "sorry we were working on a table of 18 that was before this one." They brought the corrected items on the order after we had been done eating for at least 15 minutes, and then acted semi put out that we didn't want them. Nice...not really. For the cost the food and service should be spot on. We won't be back. Wouldn't recommend it unless you just want to visit and not eat. read more

We had been here about a month ago and had a great dining experience and great food. We visited again.... this time was horrible! We sat at a table for literally 10 minutes with no server! When she finally came she offered no bread...I had ask for more water. Steak was paper thin and tasted as if it were fried in a pan! We had coupon for free app and she still charged us. We got our peach cobbler to go.... when we got home and opened it... it was one peach with little crust! We defiantly didn't get what we paid for. We tried to go here for dinner tonight. We've been in the past and it was always really good. Our waiter was nice. We ordered the fried zucchini and when it came out it was burnt. Which ok we could've gotten over but on top of that it was soggy and literally wet. We pushed it to the front of the table. The waiter did question how it was and we told him and he offered to get us something else but we didn't want to be bothersome so we just said it was ok. Bc hey mistakes can happen. Ten minutes later our salads came out and that's where it broke really bad. Our mushrooms were slimy with dark brown spots which is a clear indication they're spoiled. The cucumbers were also spoiled as they were discolored and soft. Seeing how we both ordered steaks, mine I had earlier requested to add mushrooms it just wasn't a risk we were willing to take. If the veggies were spoiled and still being served it really scared us as to the condition of the meat. I've never ordered and left a restaurant but that was it. We have two kids and rarely get date nights and when we are going to spend $60 + on a meal I just couldn't stomach the thought of continuing with the awful experience. We told the waiter of the situation and he apologized and said he could remake the salad but we told him we would just like to pay for my husbands beer and go. They seemed to be understaffed as we only saw our waitress a few times as she was also working the bar and other tasks. We thought the food was not as good as it should have been for the price or other reviews. In our opinion there are much better steak houses with-in this price range that serve a far better meal. The the sides offered were good though, the bread was as well. Thursday August 31, ordered the catfish dinner, fries and cowboy beans, my wife ordered skewered shrimp. First let me tell you she was very satisfied with her order of the shrimp. However my order was delivered with 3 filets of catfish, two lemons, and tartar sauce. The fish was well prepared, but normally a meal should include all menu items at the same time. My fries showed up about 5 minutes later on a separate plate, and later the cowboy beans were delivered only after reminding the server that I had ordered them. My wife's however tasted funny ... she got the exact same order.. but her food came out last so idk if that had anything to do with it. Before dinner arrived I was anxious for an IPA and waitress had no idea what I was talking about as she brought out a vanilla Porter. Decided to give it a try We were so happy to enjoy a delicious meal. I was especially pleased with the lettuce wedge dressed with blue cheese and a Pomegranate dressing. My steak was done to perfection and broccoli was tender and very tasty. Topped it off with a complimentary peach cobbler. We came here after church and it was comfortably crowded. Got seated right away but the wait for service was very long. We arrived at 12:10 and recieved our food around 1:15. Ordered a bunless hamburger with fries, and a chicken ceasar salad. My burger and fries were overly salted and the burger was a tad dry, possibly due to the wait. The salad was ok. The area we were seated in was oddly dark and dingy,vthough other areas had windows and looked much brighter.
