    Mamon!
    Winny H.

First time coming here and I'm amazed at all the different kinds of desserts. They have a variety of butter mamon (my new fav are butter and mocha) and I like how they have a deal where you buy 6 and get 1 free. Extra yumminess. Since it's my dad's birthday I got him a strawberry cake. Apparently it's their new item. So cool! I also like how they have their classy chocolate cake which I'll get for Fathers Day. Tons of ube sweets as well (flan, cake, and mamon). Service was good. Located in Supercity Seafood Market and next to Jollibee. Only downside is they don't make their baked goods here as it gets transported from their City of Industry location. I like how there's expiration date stickers on their packages so you can pick fresher ones! They also have empanadas sold here but I didn't get a chance to buy some as they were sold out. Next time!

They have so much dessert to offer. The young lady was helpful and suggested for me to try their mango supreme and the chicken empanada. The mango slice was heavenly. Is so fresh and moist. And the empanada was savory and filling. I would definitely come back and try more different pastry.

    It's mango cake

This is my daughter's favorite cake! She loves this cake so much is the cake she wants every birthday . They also have delicious empanadas, my favorite are the chicken ones.

Mocha roll--unfortunately, the cake was dense and rubbery

We've been going to red Ribbon Bakery for many years. This was my first time to the location on Barranca Pkwy. I drove 30 minutes bc I wanted to purchase something that I had tried and tested for my MIL's birthday. There was one lady there whose attitude was more like I was interrupting and bothering her, as I tried to decide on the size and flavor of the cake. I dismissed her unfriendly service attitude and went with the mocha roll. Unfortunately, it ended up being a big mistake. As we sat down for dessert, I was explaining to my inlaws how these Asian bakeries tend to have the lightest sponge cakes with such delicate and light cream frosting. This cake, however, was unlike any other Red Ribbon bakery cake that I had purchased in the past, and we've been going to the 90703 location for over 20 years. This cake was very dense and rubbery in texture, and there would have been no way to know because it's covered in the cream. SO disappointing and SO embarrassing. As a baker, you know when you've messed up. And then ice it and sell it to someone for a special occasion, .... I don't have words to express how not cool that is. Will never be going back there again. I will find another go-to place that's local to me now.

The place is actually a hidden gem inside Seafood City supermarket. Their cakes are so beautiful, but they only have one size and I can't eat the whole big cake then I didn't buy them. I only bought some mamon and ensaimada breads. I like butter mamon and ube one . But ensaimada is little weird taste for me because of the salty from the cheese and the sweet from the bread which are not really perfect pairing. Overall I will come back and buy the big size cake for some special occasions.

    Palabok. Very heavy food.

I first saw this bakery in the Seafood Market but didn't really think to order anything until I recently received DashPass and wanted to use my $5 off promo. The arroz caldo sounded so good in the description. Everything I could ever like in a bowl! Chicken, rice, mushrooms, garlic, onions. I needed a minimum order of $12 to qualify for free delivery, so I went ahead and ordered the palabok and beef empanada as well. Total, without the promo, was around $17-18 (STEEP for what you get). Of the three, the empanada was probably the most ok. With the other two, I honestly was really unsure what I was eating. It didn't look or taste like real food. Just a disappointing experience overall. I also usually feel hungry multiple times of the day, but the food was so heavy that I had lost my appetite for the rest of the day haha. I normally hate wasting food, but the thought of having to finish the rest makes me want to throw up a little. I will not be ordering from here again.

I finally had the chance to visit the Red Ribbon Bakeshop in Irvine! I had previously been to the one in Cerritos when I used to drive that way for work-related activities. The butter mamon is to die for. Their empanadas are great too. My husband and I were on a search for Huy Fong Chili Garlic sauce and were hitting dead ends left and right. We ducked into the Seafood City supermarket by Walmart to see if they had what we were searching for. They did not, but they did have a Red Ribbon and a Jollibee. My husband was getting a little cranky so I bought two chicken empanadas, one for each of us. We sat down in the little food court area and took some bites. I was in heaven. It's been a long time since I've had one of these babies and it was still good. Is it healthy? No. Does it work in a pinch if you're out and about? Yes. I was good and didn't grab any mamon cakes but I like that they are packaged with fun colors nowadays. If you're a fan of Red Ribbon, visit this location for their goodies!

A2 - Arroz caldo & chicken empanada ($7.79) very good
    Joe P.

Red Ribbon is a bakery, but they also have combo plates. This location is inside Seafood City on Barranca and Von Karman in Irvine. I ordered A2: Arroz caldo & chicken empanada ($7.79). I also had an extra empanada ($2.49). You can order palabok or arroz caldo a la carte, or w/ an empanada and a dessert. The arroz caldo was full of chicken and hearty. Every Azn culture has a chicken and rice soup (juk, congee, et al), and each one evokes comfort food. Likewise, the empanada was warm and full of chicken. I prolly didn't need the extra empanada, but I am a pig. Not surprisingly, the service was friendly, warm and efficient. My meal was assembled quickly, and I was off to find a seat in the communal food court. Red Ribbon will be on my regular rotation bc they serve good food at a reasonable price.

Tried the ube mamon and it was nice, light, and yummy. It was soft and moist and there was a light flavor of ube, not really overpowering. I just wish the ube flavor was more potent cause I love ube!

    MOLD!!!
    Grace M.

I bought 2 dozens of mamon and after 2 days from purchase, they were all moldy! I shipped half of these purchase to a friend in Boston. I called the location and at first she tells me that they received the Mamon on a Tuesday and that it only has 3-4 days shelf life. Well, I bought it on a Saturday so I asked why were they in their shelf if it's already expired, then she changed her date that they received it on A Thursday. Liar! Their mamon is expired! I had stomach issues after eating one after I bought it and now I realized why! Bad customer service! Bad food!

Chicken, no mixed sauce inside but pretty nice as well

I had expected the business to be in a more high volume area, however a benefit of their corner spot was that the parking lot had plenty of spaces. There's no indoor seating, but outdoor tables were set up along the north and east perimeters of the building. I was by myself at this latest visit, and it was close to the end of the day so the inventory was quite depleted. There was no line at all which was not a surprise. The famous Strawberry Croissants and prepackaged items were on refrigerated display to the left when you walked in. As the service counter rounded a corner, there were more fresh baked goods on display before you reached a register. Across from the registers were shelves containing bags of fresh bread products. I bought a Strawberry Croissant, a Sticky Bun, a Ham and Cheese Croissant, and an Apple Croissant. The quality of the pastry dough was very good, and I could see why the Strawberry Croissant was a favorite with the customers. The croissants were light and flakey, and the powdered sugar added a delicate topping to the strawberry version. If I were to rate on just the Strawberry Croissant, then it would be five stars. My overall rating was downgraded because of the customer traffic flow. The lines can be optimized so that if you wanted to buy a six-pack of the Strawberry Croissants and/or anything prepackaged, then a separate queue should be arranged for those customers. The cafeteria trays were of limited use if you were not getting a large number of items. As you advanced in the queue, other products had to be requested from a worker behind the counter and then those were not placed on the tray. Ultimately, I think they can configure the operation to more efficiently handle the higher volume periods of the day.

I sat at one of the tables, opened the box my cookies were presented in, and found myself in cookie ecstasy. The cookies are fat mountains of deliciousness. Slightly crisp outside and soft inside (note: even softer if taken home and warmed up). The chocolate chip was crammed full of chips and the walnuts were in tiny bits to keep the cookie's texture soft. The chocolate cookie was also enormous and had an abundance of peanut butter chips. Both were superb. The horchata latte had just enough ice to keep it cold. It had a bold flavor of cinnamon which I loved. Staff here were friendly, efficient, and speedy.
