Third time at this establishment over the course of 2 months. Specials were identical each visit. Service poor for second straight time. Waitress gave the impression she wanted to be anywhere but waiting on her tables. Looks like a nice golf course, a place we would consider joining. However based on our experience with the restaurant we would most definitely end up disappointed. Lack of attention to training your employees effects your whole business not just one aspect. You spent a lot of money advertising to get people in your restaurant. Your lack of training will keep them from coming back. read more

The food is gererally very good. The problem is the consistancy of the food. If you order the same dish 3 times it will be presented 3 different ways and most likely it will taste very different. I've ordered the sushi tuna and sometimes it's a piece of tuna about an inch thick and it's very good. Last night I ordered it and the piece was 3 to 4 inches thick and was very tough to cut with a knife and it tasted totally different than the last time. You never know which meal your getting. I booked my daughter's shower here. I was very anxious, worrying that the food would be up to par and that it would run smoothly. I was most impressed with the outdoor space and that is solely why I booked it here as the atmosphere was my priority. I was more than satisfied with everything from the food,(brunch) the servers, the sangria and mimosas. Jason was most helpful throughout the party. Unfortunately, we were sat in the first room on the right and it was so noisy that our waiter could not hear us. The acoustics in the room were horrible. What was worse was the food. My husband ordered a steak and it was dry and grizzly and extremely expensive. You could go to Longhorn Steak house and get a better steak at a fraction of the cost. My Thai chicken was dry and over cooked! I had a key lime pie that was ok. Very disappointed. Luckily, we live in an area with so many dining choices. A little disappointed that they had removed the DELICIOUS steak nachos, but other menu items are just as good. I know that Yelp makes every teenager and adult Putz into a restaurant critic, but with that said, here we go...Went on Thursday 12.27 for dinner. Upon entering, the welcome was lacking at best. Hostesses may as well have been nonexistent. it is called the Hospitality business for a reason, and this isn't it. Bread service was a fair selection and was warm and fresh, however the seasoned oil dip had no salt at all and the butter itself arrived at the table after our 6-top was done with the bread - replenishment of bread was never offered. Granted it was asparagus, but the soup itself was the color of sludge. It did have good taste though and the consistency was pretty nice. all-in-all it was pretty good, but only if you kept your eye's closed. The pork chop couldn't have been cooked anymore if they had tried which completely took away from any chance of it tasting good due to the char. The accompaniments were red cabbage (a tablespoon full) was flavorless and the "starch of the night" was stiff, also flavorless and crusty mashed potatoes - common, mashed potatoes, really - in a piping bag that had been siting around the steam table all night...common really, it's nearly 2013 for Christ sake. The coffee had a funny hint of freshly sharpened pencil if that makes sense. I could only stomach half a cup or so. Doesn't anyone has an eye for detail here? Coffee's the last thing you put in your mouth at a restaurant. Next up...we attempted to surprise one of our people with a birthday cake and candle. Our server had obvious issues accomplishing this without nearly blowing it. The dessert itself was a chocolate volcano/flowerless chocolate cake thing with a liquid center which had a chemically flavor to it. Again, just one bite did it for this diner. Bottom line - "a swing and a miss" to be sure. The ROG had very nice atmosphere and seemed clean but the place clearly lacks management presents &/or ownership presents badly as well as an intense training program for both the front and back of the house teams. Just ate there and was disappointed. I'll tell you why. It's 9/11 and we went to see the spotlight memorial from the trade center. You can see the freedom tower from their back deck. Pretty cool! Anyway. I just read all the other reviews an they were spot on? Except for one thing no one mentioned. $17 a glass and the bartender with the hair knot on his head poured less and less every glass. I absolutely loved this restaurant! We were driving home and happened to see it and decided to stop and were super impressed by how nice it was inside. Loved the free mimosa and the orange coconut bread was amazing. The menu was very diverse and we tried the salmon omelette and the pancakes. Very filling. The place was crowded but noise levels were fine and our waitress always checked in to see how we were doing. And the prices were amazing. With the free drinks and bread, our bill was only $25 for two enormous breakfasts! read more

Very pretty restaurant with great views. I liked the variety of the menu, but I was disappointed in what I ordered. I started with Thai calamari. The calamari was chewy and the thai sauce seemed to be just a bottled sauce. I had salmon which was cooked perfectly but had what tasted like BBQ sauce on it. It came with plain red potatoes and a slaw that I didn't care for. Not as interesting as described on the menu. The one thing that I did really enjoy a lot was a dessert called the Floating Island. It was a meringue filled with chocolate mousse and a light chocolate wafer on top. Delicious and unique. Overall, it was an ok lunch, but I wasn't impressed. read more

Went here for lunch on a Saturday with my 8 year old neice and my mother. This was our first time visiting and we were pleasantly surprised. The location sits on a beautiful golf course with a very nice decor inside. There is outdoor seating that we will try when the weather is warmer. I had the bacon wrapped scallops that were delicious and my mom and neice had the BLT and burger. They enjoyed it but will caution that the BLT is a large portion and big enough for two people to share. The bartender made my French Martini perfectly and I will definitely be back with my girlfriends! read more

This place never disappoints. They added nachos to the menu recently and they are unbelievable. The chips are homemade and the guacamole is so good. I love the burgers here so much - I never want to get anything else. They are the best in the area - I have tried a burger at urban table and at delicious heights and they are nowhere near as good as the ROG burger. Fries are awesome too. My husband always gets the lobster Cobb salad which he loves and he also likes the new Thai chicken salad. read more

I was shopping at a local farm called "Three Meadows Farm" where you can buy their fresh grown vegetables, fresh eggs, farm raised chickens, etc. when I see a chef carefully selecting vegetables and other items. He told me he was a chef at a golf club restaurant and when I mentioned they're lucky to have a chef that buys farm raised vegetables and fruits, he said the restaurant is open to the public and I should try it. My wife and I recently visited this beautiful restaurant in the rolling hills of Bedminster that includes outdoor dining on a larger terrace overlooking the golf course. The food matches the quality of the restaurant's decor and ambience. We both had a differently prepared filet mignon mine served on a bed of sautéed leeks with red wine demi glace and my wife's filet topped with portobello mushroom. Both were perfect. Everything was "farm fresh" and flavorful. The menu is very extensive and I will be back and back if the other dishes are this good. The terrace has boxes and boxes of fresh grown herbs and the chef also maintains a vegetable garden including Jersey tomatoes. The staff was very friendly and attentive. read more

Very disappointed. Had a reservation yet we were told we had only 2 hours to eat because they wanted the table for club members. We were seated outside and in short order, 40 or so teenage girls were seated right next to us. We asked to be moved due to noise and the hostess was clearly not happy about moving us. I ordered the steamed lobster and willingly paid $5 to have it taken out of its shell. For $43 I got a lobster with no tail! I refused it. Got the salmon which was topped with bbq sauce of all things! Yuck! Our evening ended with the hostess telling us it was time for us to go as she wanted the table. Have visited the bar many times. Tonight we ordered a drink and there was no room at the bar. We sat a table in the bar area and after sitting down were told we could not sit there since it was reserved. No sign indicating such. None of the tables in the bar area or the restaurant had any occupants. We were moved to the small ugly secluded s-called wine cellar. We got no service and were treated like outcasts. Finished drinks and left never to return again. Very rude people at this restaurant. There was a private event this night without any notification at this public restaurant. Heard nice things about this place from friends. I live around the corner from it so we decided to give it a try. The decor was very nice. Very warm and inviting. The service was great, but we were there early so I'm not sure how it would be if it were busier. But the waitress was very attentive and nice. My wife ordered salmon and I decided to stay close to the vest and ordered a burger and some calamari and marinara sauce. Unfortunately the food did not live up to the rest of the experience. The salmon was average, the calamari was decent, and the burger was pretty good but small. We ordered desert and had to take it back, which they didn't charge us for which was nice. The prices were a bit rich which is okay but the quality could have been better. I could see if the place was super busy, but it wasn't at the time so imo the cooks could have done a better job to be honest. I'd give it another shot because it's local and I support local places... But that would be their last chance. read more

I've been going to the Red Oak Grille for about five years now and am always pleased. I usually eat at the bar, where there's excellent service, but I've also had a party of 10 in the dining room for a special event. Twelve taps at the bar means a nice beer selection. The menu changes seasonally so there's always something new to try and it's fresh! One of my favorites is the risotto. Saturday night has live music. The only drawback is that some of the clientele can be a bit snobby. read more

Nice menu, great setting. Food very inconsistent. Sat down Saturday night at 7:30 placed our orders. At 8:05 server came back and said they were out of swordfish that one of us ordered. Really, it took 35 minutes to find that out , on a SATURDAY night. It wasn't even crowded. Two of use ordered the halibut , apparently a signature dish. The favors were Great but all four pieces of halibut ( you get two each) were entirely overlooked - super dry. Fried calamari is served in a Friendlys resturant style cone, after you eat the top few pieces all the rest are so steamed by being cramed into the cone they become mush. We did return them , but choked down the halibut. Our other two plates , ribeye and shrimp were very good. We found out during the meal at Oliver the executive chef was not in tonight, again Saturday night no exec chef ? We dropped $300 for the four of us, a little steep for " supper". read more

Had lunch there during my break. We ordered the fried calamari for an appetizer. The Thai sauce was delicious!! For my main course I ordered the Kobe Roast Beef Melt. Had a girls weekend gathering at Red Oak Grille. It was great! Loved the fire going in the fireplace as we walked in. Cozy! Can't decide which appetizer I loved most. They were all so tasty and different. I wanted to lick the plate of the toasted brie. I had the stuffed flounder (Lent) and it melted in my mouth. Delicious! We had a party of 7 and everyone had something different. Lots of Mmmmm and "so tasty" comments all around the table. Our waitress was very knowledgable, great wine suggestions and she was attentive. went to Red Oak Grille last night. As we were seated the hostess told us we were lucky to have a reservation as they were booked solid. We were seated and our waitress Shaun came over and asked if we had any questions about the menu as they had just started their Spring menu. I have always been a fan of their extensive kids menu and this helps while dining with an 8 and 2 year old. We did have the fried calamari which is a bit generic but both our kids eat it but the ROG kicked it out of ordinary with the trio of sauces that accompanied it; marinara, salsa verde with pico de gallo, and a lemon aioli. so Yummy!!! My husband went with the hanger steak that was cooked a perfect medium rare and seasoned spot on. I chose the Halibut special that was one of the most delicious pieces of fish I have ever eaten. If I could have licked the plate for the sauce (I think it was a mojo sauce) I would have. My only disapppointment was the older hostess who when we entered seemed distrubed we walked in. With a distraught tone said "can I help you?" Once we told her we had a reservation she quickly handed us ovewr to the younger hostess who seated us and was very pleasant! I visited this place for the first time last week. It seems like a hidden gem. A girlfriend of mine and I went out for a drink and an appetizer, but decided to stay for an entire meal. The setting is warm and inviting, (I love the exposed brick, fireplace, and oak feel.) We were greeted very quickly by our server who went over some of their premium glasses of wine. (I love when the staff actually knows what they are talking about.) Upon accepting the server's wine recommendation, I was very pleased to find it went perfectly with the bacon wrapped scallops that I ordered. (The sauce that is served with it tasted like it was made by angels or magical unicorns...LOL) For my entrée I ordered the flat bread pizza, it sounded interesting and different. However, I am not a huge sausage fan so I asked if I could substitute the toppings and they kindly obliged. The pizza was also topped with a perfectly, lightly dressed salad. Who knew that was going be delicious?! My friend also commented on her salmon entrée saying it was one of the best fish dishes she ever had! Due to fact that my friend is extremely shy, I was very surprised when she asked our waitress to comment to the chef on how incredible it was. I really wish either of us had room for dessert, but we spoke about coming back on Friday night for the DJ and possibly sampling the dessert then.
