I am not from the neighboorhood (bayridege), am from the City. Was passing by with friends from the neighborhood, and saw the place. Loved the decor and the chill atmosphere. They also have a patio outside and its so romantic and cool. I walked in with a group of four friends and we sat outside in the patio. We ordered appetizers and dinner and hookah. The red boat appetizer is delicious and fresh, it has vermicelli noodles and shrimps and clams. The sauce is to die for and never tasted anything like it. My friends ordered mix grill and béchamel tagine, and fetta. My friends were very happy with their selections and they said everything wad tasty. The best part for me was the chill atmosphere outside and the hookah. Omg the hookah I ordered, black martnii, never had anything like it. I added liquor at the bottom and ordered the black martini flavored tobacco. The server was friendly and made all good recommendations. I highly recommend the place because the food is delicious and fresh and because the hookah is clean and their flavors are off the hook lol. Thumps up for Red Oak! Will be coming back again, I know my friends said they would be regulars since they live in brooklyn. read more

Went to Red Oak on Friday night for hookah and drinks. I sat outside in their backyard with a bunch of friends. The atmosphere is really nice and chill. Their hookah is absolutely wonderful. I had the apple martini and the strawberry, can't stress how good it really was. I have been to lots of hookah places, both in Brooklyn and the City, I found Red Oak to be very clean and their hookah is fresh and decently priced. Went back on Saturday for dinner: their lamb chops, kofta and wings, were not only home-made and fresh, but it tasted so yummy. I am Mediatereen myself, and for me to say that their Kofta and lamb chops, are home made and fresh, is giving them thumbs up!!! Went the following week for Brunch. Have to admit that brunch at Red Oak is a very unique experience...loved the Eggs Benedict and the home made potatoes(never tasted anything like them), my God, they were delicious! Cant forgot the mimosas...made my day! Thanks Sam and Fady, and all the friendly staff at Red Oak. Will be back again next weekend!! read more

Been to a few hookah lounges in Bay Ridge and I have to say this is my favorite one. They have a nice back patio area which is where I prefer sitting. Don't worry about being cold in the winter months, they have heat lamps. Service is good, which is nice to see especially since this place can get quite packed and busy. The waitresses are always nice and charismatic. Food is typical, but it hits the spot. They have a selection between typical bar food, wraps, salads, and kebabs which makes it good for large groups with different taste palates. Drinks are not bad at all! They're not watered down which is difficult to come across nowadays. Hookah is great, as per my friends since I'm not a hookah lover. They have various options which can be served in fruit bowls and ice hoses. I have noticed that sometimes they don't have some flavours available which can be a bummer. read more

First of all if i was able to give a 0 star rating i will. This place has horrible customer service and honestly it is so sad to say because it is a nice little chilled spot and the manager looks like he wants to make sure everyone is fine but the staff he has not so much. We waited about 1 hour for a CHICKEN SANDWICH! I asked about 3 times when the sandwich was going to be ready and the answer i kept getting was " it's coming, it's coming" I didn't even get a sorry for the sandwich taking so long. - Don't even get me started about the drinks. The drinks were horrible, someone needs to give the bartenders some bar tending classes and obsessively some customer service skills as well. I will NEVER come back here again! Don't waste your time or money here ! Chill hookah lounge on 78th and 5th ave is a better place to go to in bay ridge ! read more

Scandalous thief of a server. The bleach blonde troll Russian took a crispy 100 dollar bill for four half pours of whiskey and didn't bring any change back. When I approached the honest Latin server he claimed "that she thought it was her tip". Lmao. This place sucks. Sub par to be very honest. Many patrons from outside the neighborhood so that you know. I only gave them another chance last night because my favorite neighborhood lounge was booked with a private party. Shame on me! This will be the last time I spent a black penny in there. I went there in Nov 2017 and paid $450 or rather got robbed for $450 for a hookah and six drinks. I'm a G so I don't look at bills but quickly figured out that I have been swindled once I've reached my home and saw the credit card update. Avoid this thing like Covid 24. read more

They've got LIVE MUSIC on Thursday nights! (Had to edit my review for that - now where is the 6th star? :) This cute place is exactly what the neighborhood needed! Classy, tasteful, perfect both for dining or an evening at the bar with a cocktail or 4 :). The service is great, the owner treats you like a royalty :) Ask for his special shrimp appetizer - yummy!!! The prices are decent too. Went there for brunch on Saturday and had the most amazing eggs Benedict with home fries - they melted in my mouth! I love new places, they care and their food is so fresh! "Home fries" in Cebu, for example, taste like they are 2 weeks old - it's like chewing on a piece of wood. I am definitely going back, the atmosphere is wonderful, love their music, and there are still so many interesting items on the menu I wanna try. Highly recommended. read more

Red Oak in Brooklyn is easily one of the best hookah lounges I've been to. The hookah flavors are strong and they have a wide range to choose from, so there's something for everyone no matter what you like to smoke. What really stands out is the service. The staff is constantly checking on you to make sure everything with your hookah is good. They're always coming by to do coal changes, making sure the smoke stays strong, and asking if you need a refill on drinks or if you want to order food. You never feel like you're waiting around for help. The food is good too, which is always a plus for a hookah spot. Overall, the vibe, the service, and the quality of the hookah make this place a great experience. Honestly, I have no complaints about this place at all. Definitely a spot I'd come back to. read more

Beautiful ambiance, wonderful live music on Thursday nights, fantastic food, great staff and owners!!!!! They even had a belly dancer for entertainment (Friday and Saturday nights) !!! Too much fun! I had a blast! It is the perfect place to have a nice dinner, or to sit at the bar for a drink or two. They even have hookah to try (if you desire.) The outdoor seating is newly decorated and gorgeous! I love the red lights. :) I tried out their new menu and chef this evening. The salmon was quite flavorful and healthy! My compliments! As always, I was greeted with huge, sincere smiles. You will definitely have a great time here! Even if you are just enjoying a peaceful evening by yourself! (Like I do sometimes.) At Red Oak, you will feel genuinely taken care of. read more

This is the first time I am giving review on yelp and also for the first time I went to Red Oak with my friends. I find this place to be the best for the people who love hookah. We had peach and mint over pineapple and it was really good. Also, there were many flavors of hookah and drinks to choose from. Even the food which we had ordered 'pasta' was good. The Atmosphere was lively with the red light all over the lounge. The service was excellent. We were served by Ally and she was very friendly in nature and she did came to our table regularly to check whether we need anything or not. This was one of the best service we have got till date. I would recommend to visit this lounge. read more

Been there with my brother, all I can say - the food was very good. At least I liked it. All the rest was really poor. Service is awful - we were waiting for a waitress for more than 5 minutes, and it could have been understandable if the place were crowded. But besides us there was almost nobody. And that was for the first taking order. She never came back to ask if we want something else. I just can't understand how one can run business like that. The prices were a little bit overrated, but not too much. Atmosphere was quite nice, but nothing outstanding there. I'd add some light, because it was too dark even for eating, not speaking of reading menu. read more

THEY HAVE LIVE MUSIC NOW! Woo-hoo! Came back here for another great dinner experience on Thursday night around 8pm, brought my girls, and was so pleasantly surprised that they have now added Live Music! Didn't think the place could have outdone itself, but they did :) The guitar player was amazing, he played all those songs you know and love, but the acoustic version of them somehow made them sound even better. He took requests too, and made us girls laugh (apparently he does stand up as well, go figure :) Everyone, who is looking for a venue with nice live entertainment - this is your place on Thursday night. Overall, great time, can't wait to go back. read more

I just found a bunch of reviews for this place here, maybe it'll be helpful: http://www.yelp.com/biz/elite-event-at-red-oak-new-york From myself I can say that it's a very nice, cool place. Went there the other night with two of my friends and had the best dinner I can recall in a long while. We had the mixed grill and it was just.. excellent. The seafood platter too, I am salivating thinking about it now :) The music was good too, the owner was awesome and kept treating us with samples and even shots at the end. The place is kinda romantic, so I'll make sure to bring my lady here soon, but my buddies and me had a blast too. Will definitely come back. read more

I don't know what they put in their hooka but it last for the longest I've ever experienced. Very classy interior design and they have a huge back yard with an imitation pergola, which looks amazing. The manager Steve is a real relationship manager. I noticed he knows every customer's name so that's always a great sign. Their drink menu is outstanding and Steve makes me a phenomenal Old Fashioned, he adds a special touch and I appreciate that. When I walk in, whether on a date or with a buddy, I feel like I'm VIP over there. Great music, great staff, great menu. This is one of my top Bay Ridge locations, highly recommended. read more

Had the best time at Red OAk Restaurant and Lounge in Brooklyn! This spot is cute and intimate, perfect for a fun night out. Thursdays are with a DJ, belly dancer, and ladies' night--$5 lemon drop shots, yes please! The DJ kept us dancing all night, and our hookah was on point with coals refilled nonstop. But let me tell you--the FOOD is next level! The wings, steak nachos, and Surf N Turf burger were all seasoned and cooked to perfection. Shoutout to the amazing staff and the back room with big screens for all the entertainment. Definitely coming back! read more

Yet again, exceptional service!!! Our waitress was awesome! The hookah was amazing! Prob one of the best I've ever tried. Everyone was on top of their game! The coal was changed frequently. The music was good and the vibes were great too. The food was pretty delish too haha (chicken fingers and fries) lol They always made sure we had drinks and if we were doing okay. Thank you for giving us a good night!! Wasn't expecting it :) Shout out to Amir for being awesome! read more

Live Music on Thursday nights? - I'm there :) You don't have to tell me twice about a venue that has a nice guitar player. Red Oak already established itself (at least for me) as a great place to have dinner, but now with live music - there is nowhere else I'd rather be :) I hear so far it's on Thursday nights, but might be more often in the future. Great news :) read more
