We heard that the hookah and drinks were pretty good, so we decided to cross that bridge and see what's up. Came here on a Saturday night. I've heard about Red Oak before, but it was our first time coming. I love how there were two security guards out front, making you feel safe and knowing they are not allowing any shenanigans to go down. Towards the front of the bar, there are tables and chairs right across from the bar. We were seated at the back part, where it's more of a lounge vibe. We order strawberry margaritas and a coconut margarita. I was surprised with the size of the margarita. It's served in a nice tall cocktail glass. Prices are reasonable. Hookah was good. The dj on Saturday night was on point. We were singing and vibing out the whole night. Our server Natalie was super attentive. She kept checking on us, making sure we were good. The amount of times and travels from Staten Island I've done for this place for 5 + years now and putting all my friends on. There was 8 of us and they denied one friend for having crocs on when I was literally just wearing crocs last Friday and have plenty of times before that too after spending $400. I was there for a farewell party for a friend. The place is nice enough, but the space in the backroom has lots of flaws. Its too small with the music set too loud. There is no need to blast the speakers when the room is about the size of a living room (maybe a bit bigger). Also, ITS HOT IN THERE! They have a couple of cheap fans, but when you are serving hookah in a tiny room full of people the room in the middle of summer, the room is going to heat up fast! It doesn't matter that the lights are dimmed. The food is just whatever (think standard bar food). Its not a bad little place (the servers were very nice). Stopped by for a drink with an old friend. We both a had drink called the French 85 which consist of Hennessy passion fruit and something similar to a sprite which was pretty tasty. Not that strong. The bartender was alil flustered she was working alone and it was alil busy for a Wednesday night but she held it down and apologized for the wait and gave us a tasty green tea shot which I enjoyed. I really enjoyed this place. I came on a Sunday with my family. There was nobody here, so I decided it would be perfect for my first curbside meal during Covid. The owner, I believe, who seemed to have played all roles, was very pleasant. He was there with what seemed like only one other person, but managed to move very quickly and handle everything all by himself. We all orders cheeseburgers and had mozzarella sticks as an appetizer. The cheeseburger is a double burger, I don't believe the menu mentioned that, but as it was my cheat meal for the week, I didn't mind one bit! I went with a strawberry coconut frozen drink, it was equally as pleasant. Along with the grwat food, service, comfortable outside seating, we also got some great tunes. A lot of older classic R&B and Rap hits from the 90s and early 2000s was playing(without profanity which was a plus because my eight year daughter was with us) All and all, I throughly enjoyed my meal and experience here. I give this place 5 stars solely because they have a fruit plate on the menu. I love having the option to eat fruits as a meal when I go to a restaurant/lounge. The staff was nice and helpful -- especially with my special requests. They came out to talk to us to make sure everything was okay. They even made us a sample of a Henny/BBQ sauce and it was delicious and I usually hate BBQ/Henny lol. Also! Their wings are CRACK. I haven't been inside of the establishment but the fact that my order didn't come with anything that was promised besides plain burgers and fries and yet still charged $14-$18 (for each of what we ordered) is just ridiculous. The staff is professional, cordial and willing to go out of their way to provide a fantastic evening out. We got to sit outside under the canopy tent, and listened to a pretty wicked mix of international music as we sipped and chatted into the early morning. The chairs are a bit uncomfortable, but they served the purpose. Little votive candles adorn the white linen tables, and it's always a great laid back vibe. They won't rush you out to accommodate other patrons; I like that. I've been going to red oak for about five years. Nice hookah bar they place really good music. They are open late so it's usually where I go for some last minute fun. The food tastes like it's frozen food with sauce thrown over it, so I definitely wouldn't go for the food. The waitresses are nice ( depending on who you get) there's one really nice woman with really long hair always super pleasant, the other ones not so much. They have a really cool option for hookah that has a cute ice tip ( cute for Instagram ). The decor however is outdated so if you're looking for somewhere to take photos this isn't the place. If you are looking for somewhere to dance & do some hookah on a late night then this is the place for you. Also I took away one star for the overpriced food and watered down drinks. read more

I'm actually surprised this place got the stars it got. Pros: the manager was awesome . We had an issue with the bill, it was resolved swiftly. The hookah was ok Cons: literally everything else. The drinks taste like swill. (You'll have to send it back before you get what you actually ordered) The food is less than mediocre The music (on a Friday night) did not fit the atmosphere. The service was awful. We returned one drink and 30 minutes later when the bill came, the drink was on that bill. When we explained the concern to the waitress , she said "it was already served out of our bottle so we can't refund it " (at which point we asked for a manager and the waitress rolled her eyes and shrugged her shoulders ) where i come from the customer may not always be right, but at least doesn't get made to feel like they're absolutely wrong. I love this place, I live in Queens and we were looking for something different to do instead of going to a hookah lounge around us. After finding Red Oak on Instagram we messaged them to make a reservation, on Halloween night I'll add. They got back to us super quick since something just opened up. They follow all the COVID 19 guidelines with taking temps, tables being 6ft apart, etc. The staff here was amazing. You could tell this is a neighborhood spot because everyone kinda knew each other, the great thing is that they treated us like we knew them forever. We felt pretty at home there. They have good hookah priced hookah, all fruit tops which was a nice twist. The food was great also, I would recommend the little steak sliders. I will for sure be going back!
