Potato Soup !

9-13-24 It's not a big fan of Red Lobster the last time I was there, but this trip was different. It was cold in the restaurant which I had to get a sweater but the food was really really good. The service was great and I would recommend another trip back to red lobster in Monroeville. The restaurant was clean and the service was great.

First time here in a long time. In-laws selected this lunch outing. Restaurant lighting is improved; look brighter. Ordered fish sandwich. Food was not bad. Cheddar biscuits always good. Waitress was awesome.

For the most part the food is consistent. I try to visit on non peak hours during promotions. The service is hit or miss. The least favorite part of my experiences have been the food runners. You've heard the phrase "Too many cooks in the kitchen"? Weeeell it's like that on the dining room. Hope you visit on a good day. Good luck.

Pad Thai noodles with chicken

Standard Red Lobster in the area. 3.5 stars Good service, standard food, standard pricing. Food come out quick, and our server was sweet and smiling the whole time. I feel like the cheddar bay biscuits aren't like they used to be. Decided to step out and try something new...The chicken in the thai noodle dish was not seasoned and the sauce a little too sweet. The portion size is huge, 3 people could eat from it. I absolutely recommend the salmon bowl. Very delicious, lots of veggies, brown rice, and roasted brussel sprouts with the perfect amount of balsamic glaze on top.

Crab-Stuffed Shrimp Rangoon

When I was a kid, this was my absolute favorite place to eat. It's been so long that I had no clue what to expect, but I think I had low expectations. Overall, it was an ok experience. We tried the stuffed mushrooms and crab-stuffed shrimp rangoons. The mushrooms were pretty basic and fine for what they were. They were pretty salty in general, and the cheese and butter used were salty so we didn't taste much else. The shrimp rangoons were also ok. We didn't taste a whole lot of the stuffing as there was a lot of the coating on the shrimp. We did enjoy the dipping sauce as it had a touch of heat to it. They weren't bad, but I'd probably go with another app the next time around like the lobster pizza. The biggest issue I had is that one of the shrimp wasn't deveined and that's an immediate turn off. I realize that items like this are likely just shipped to the restaurant already prepped so I'm going to try and avoid holding that against this location. I think misses like that tend to happen often with huge chains. The salad and biscuits tasted exactly like they always have. If you liked them 30 years ago, you'll like them today. For me, that alone made it worth the trip. I had the fish and chips for my meal and it was a mixed bag. I really liked the fries and I enjoyed some of the fish, but a nice portion of the fish was almost like jerky with how tough it was. The only thing I really didn't care for here was the coleslaw. It came out really dry and flavorless. The highlight came from me getting to try some other items like shrimp and crab. I expected the shrimp to be rubbery and over cooked, but it was cooked nicely. The crab I tried was cooked well and was sweet and tender. Lastly, the service wasn't great. Even though it was lunch time, the place was very slow. We weren't checked on much, and when we were, our server looked pained to wait on us. I certainly know bad days happen and I'm hoping that's all it was. I know the service industry can be pretty brutal on the soul. It was a bit of a mixed bag, but I'd be willing to go back again.

What's for dinner? (Friday~ February 28, 2020) Lobster lover's dream!!! I added on an order of walt's shrimp!! Plus, as an appetizer we got the stuff mushrooms!! We ordered a bottle of Muscato to share!! Yum Yum Yum!!! Appetizer specs: As always.... super gooey goodness!! You get a whole mushroom with lobster stuffing, melted cheese & smothered in garlic butter!!! What else is there to say.. Meal specs: As always... It was fantastic!!! The meal has a succulent roasted rock lobster, butter poached Maine lobster tail, lobster and shrimp linguine Alfredo & 2 sides!! I got a potato with butter & sour cream on the side & a salad!! Then, there is the walt's shrimp added on!! Both lobsters where perfectly cooked!! The linguine was not lacking shrimp but could of had more lobster!! Walt's shrimp was crispy & good! The salad was crisp & good!! I get french dressing on the side; which was sweet & tasty!! The potato was also cooked properly. Not hard nor burnt! Drink specs: The wine was sweet & bubbly goodness!!! Bartenders: The bartenders are great!! Even with all the chaos going on around them (since it was a busy night) they still managed to have a smile on their faces and tried their best make sure that you had everything you needed!! Bon appétit!!! Pictures

Items circled are from Red Lobster's take out. Salad, biscuits, whitefish, baked potatoes, rice, shrimp liguini alfredo, & coconut shrimp

Gave this a second try and was very pleased at how different the 2nd visit was. We didn't dine in, though. I ordered the chicken tenders party platter and the Family-Style Create Your Own Feast with oven-broiled whitefish, shrimp Linguini Alfredo, and the Parrot Bay coconut shrimp. Sides were rice, baked potatoes, and a garden salad. Be wary of what it says you'll get, though. I ordered the baked potatoes, but only got three. Not four like it says. Also was disappointed that the coconut shrimp came with some kind of weird pineapple sauce & not shrimp cocktail sauce. I didn't buy any cocktail sauce, so that was a little stressful. People were asking if I had any. Nobody even wanted to try that pineapple sauce. Can't say as I blamed, them, though. I didn't try it, either. Other than the snag with missing a potato and cocktail sauce, though, it was a good experience. We had to wait at the bar for the order & Jeff, the bartender who also doubles as the take-out person, was very friendly.

Very disappointed!!

Very disappointed, they said this is how they come because they don't throughly clean them but just throw them in water n cook them!! I'll do it myself going forward!! Wont be returning Bk there!! Very disturbing!!

Shrimp two ways

I imagine that after Joe's Crab Shack that Red Lobster would have stepped up their game but I unfortunately imagined wrong. The biscuits are still memorable, the staff are friendly and efficient but the mediocre seafood doesn't make up for it. I'd save my money unless you're starving as my most recent experience had the greatest wait staff but my plate was hotter than the food allowing me to believe it sat for a while. The scampi was oily, potatoes were cold and I can't fathom how any of this is good food. With so many options in Pittsburgh these guys have to step up their game. Keep the awesome staff but add some flavors to the food.

We came to red lobster last evening for the endless shrimp before it ended! There was a group of 8 of us and we barely waited 5 minutes. The server was super sweet and accommodating for our large group. The endless shrimp is a great deal for $15.99! The restaurant was clean and easily accessible for a member in our group in crutches. Highly recommend!!

Instead, this was hands down the fastest large-group dinner I've ever had. Orders moved quickly, food came out hot, and nothing felt chaotic. For a group this size, that level of execution is genuinely impressive. Let's be clear: this is not Texas-style, 18-hour, smoke-ring BBQ--and it's not trying to be. What they do well is consistency and customization. You get six different sauces, and they actually ask whether you want your meat lean and dry or juicy. I went juicy, and my portions were flavorful, tender, and satisfying. I ordered the beef brisket and pulled pork, and also tried the pulled pork sandwich. Solid across the board. They were out of the cream corn (bummer), the mac and cheese was fine and comforting, and the cornbread was excellent--classic, slightly sweet, and the clear standout. This is BBQ built for scale: fast, reliable, and crowd-friendly. If you're feeding a large group and want everyone served quickly, with options and no drama, Mission BBQ absolutely delivers--even if it's not chasing smoke-ring perfection.

Some mild and some spicy but all the ones I've tried are tasty. The sides were also very good! Mac and cheese and bacon green beans were my favorites but other sides include baked beans, French fries, collard greens, cold slaw and a couple seasonal items. The prices are decent but I was impressed with their commitment to veterans charities. I'll pay more to help those who serve our country! The Army Truck out front is very cool and it's their mobile smoker truck for large events The inside of the store has a warm, cozy and welcoming atmosphere. Definitely feel like you're ready to enjoy some homemade delicious BBQ. Definitely recommended if you're hungry for some delicious scratch BBQ.

First impression was that the color scheme, decorations, and menu all seemed to be dated and uninspired. The staff were polite and attentive. I ordered the salad and Salmon Oscar. The salad was good and the blue cheese dressing I chose was house-made. It was good. My girlfriend got the wedge salad which I think was a bit expensive since it was a $6 up charge for a wedge of iceberg lettuce from the standard salad that came with the entrees. My Salmon Oscar with asparagus was very good. I enjoyed every bite of the salmon and crab. My daughter's chicken parm came with a ton of linguini. My girlfriend got the signature crab cakes which she said were mostly crab and not filler. So while I thought the menu was dated when reading it the food was well executed.

My wedding soup and my husband's French onion soup were delicious. The wedding soup was loaded with meatballs and chicken. My husband has a thing for French onion soup and tries it every chance he gets. He said this may have been the best ever. We split a Reuben sandwich and upgraded to onion rings. The waitress brought us each a half portion so we didn't have to divide it ourselves, which was nice. There was plenty of meat on the sandwich, making it acceptable, not great but good enough. Onion rings were very good. Dessert sounded tempting, a cherry crème brûlée. It was okay, kind of like cherry jello with a sugar crust on top. A bit disappointing to say the least. Our waitress was on top of filling the water glasses and was very nice. Now for the bad news and why I'm only giving 3 stars. I went to the ladies room before eating and there was no hot water to wash my hands. I asked my husband if the men's room had hot water and he said no. We both let it run but it never got hot, not even warm. Then I noticed (after drinking several glasses of water unfortunately) that there was a crack in my water glass. I mentioned it to my husband and he said, "you should see the chips in the glass tabletop over her on my side". I get it that wear and tear happens, but these things should be caught before serving guests. And as far as the hot water...how do servers and kitchen workers properly clean their hands after using the toilet without hot water? So the food is fairly solid and reasonably priced. But be on the lookout for chipped glassware and table tops. And use your own hand sanitizer if you have it!

Daily special- pan seared mahi mahi with asparagus fennel kohlabi and arugula salad citrus buerre Blanc. Light citrus flavor is found thru the mahi mahi, its sauce and the salad. Very congruent. Asparagus was a neutral addition. Not flowing with or against the mahi. Fish was cooked well. Just lots of raw red onion on the salad was a little overpowering. 7/10 Red wine braised short rib- didn't ask how well done, so seems chefs choice. We have a preference towards med rare. This was cooked well done making it a tad tough-stringy. Mashed potatoes with some larger pieces of potato, but very neutral plain flavor, great with the beef sauce. Carrots cooked well, just neutral, natural flavor. Overall a very classic flavor combo that works.7/10. Would stop by again to try more dishes. Ps- when paying we noticed final bill to sign was more than first bill at table. When we asked why the difference we were told it's the credit card fee of $3.
